Haikyuu characters are all so dramatic. Hinata and him wanting to be the ace and yelling at everyone about it, breaking into training camp, and trying to photobomb Kita's interview. Kageyama's whole "I'm setter because setter is te playmaker who touches the ball the most and controls the team." Tsukishima's "just a club" until it isn't and he becomes so impassioned he practocally begs to get put back in uring the Shiratorizawamatch even with an injury, literally the whole Akiteru situation, "Sorry I took your extra special job" to Hinata during the Inarizaki game. Yamaguchi yelling at Tsukki, "What more do you need than pride?" and running to get an AED when Hinata stops breatjing after being reminded of final exams.

Ennoshita's "if I can't get this ball I don't belong on the court" and him being unofficial wrangler of the problem children. Nishinoya in general but 1) "I'm not playing unless I have my (*coughs* boyfriend *coughs*) ace by my side, 2) pouncing on anyone who mentions his height, 3) the whole "guardian deity" thing ("ROLLING THUNDER!!!!") and the joy he takes in being called senpai, 4) Kiyoko (need I say more?) or any other girl giving him the time of day, 5) him deciding to come to Karasuno specifically because of the uniform's cool looks... (I could continue for ages here). Tanaka in general: ripping hia shirt off, screaming every time he hits, shaving his head to show his dedication to the club, the whole Amane "I LOVE ANOTHER!" situation, etc etc etc.

Asahi "I lost one game so I quit volleyball completely and got into such a huge argument over my (*coughs again* boyfriend *cough cough*) libero that he got suspended for a week and we broke a fucking broom handle clean in two. Suga getting scolded for screaming at them for missing two recieves at their first game at Nationals, I think it was, naming every attack, and putting together an inpromptu cheer squad for Yamaguchi during their first Aoba Josai game. Daichi dying, 'nuff said, but also him not-so-subtly threatening to beat the snot out of anyone who misbehaves (dad behavior indeed).

Takeda saying that groveling is one of his talents and offering to pay out ofnpocket for travel expenses 👌. Ukai not wanting to come back as coach to preserve his high school memories of Karasuno and ends up as their coach anyways. Kiyoko saying the only time she'd be caught dead wearing the shirt the club made for her is if her only other choice was to go naked. Yachi getting so worked up about everything she ends up spouting nonsense or about to pass out. Saeko and her insane driving, the tenko drum squad, her arriving late becase she was out drinking til 5am.

Inousuke communicating with Hinata in gibberish. Lev and his ace big talk. Shibayama getting so excited after syncing up with Lev because he was worried about not living up to Yaku's presence. Kenma cursing out gravity when he's tired. Tora and him getting into multiple catfights because of their different personalities and philosophies. Fukunaga splashing them with water multiple times to break up said fights.

Kuroo being a closet dork, him and Yaku insulting each other with science names, the whole "blood, heart, brain" speech. Yaku parenting Lev and literally kicking his ass. Kai being the calm one but only in comparison to them and enabling Fukunaga's water-throwing antics.

Akane leading the cheer squad. Alisa jumping to thinking about being sister-in-laws with her after Lev does something tall. Coach Nekoma and the Battle of the Trash Heap yhat's been in the works since he, a grandpa, was in high school.

Kindaichi telling Kageyama not to apologize becaise he'll win their next match. Kunimi glaring because everything's a chore. Kyoutani and his dramatic entrance and playstyle. Yahaba dropping the nice guy act and doing the kabedon. Oikawa's everything: picture posing, hair styling, Mr. "At least I get to see one of them lose," the nicknames, that one scene where he "hmph!"s in public and tries to cover it up as humming (unsuccessfully). Iwaizumi chucking volleyballs anytime Oikawa gets a big head and being the only one Mad Dog will listen to because he won an arm wrestling competition.

Aone not talking unless to correct someone about Hinata and their super serious bows. Konegawa falling for every taunt that gets thrown his way. Fukutachi and his habit of antagonizing everyone, ever to exist.

Bokuto literally wilting if he doesn't get enough attention, getting excited at the most unusual things, his ace shirt. Akaashi plannihg his entire high school around playing with his husb- I mean, his star. Yukie eating everything in sight.

Ushijima intending on doing literally nothing but who "invites all challengers." Tendou SA-TO-RI and his "Oooooooops!!" Shibaru studying his ass off to go to Shiratorizawa and play "power volleyball" with Ushijima. Goshiki competing over every. Single. Thing. Washijou, the crotchety old geezer, shouting "Superglue! Bird lime!"

Kita seeing everything as not really a big deal but crying when he got named team captain. Osamu and his huge fight because he and Atsume disagreed about whose future was better so they made a deal to compare their lives on their deathbeds and whoever was happiest wins. Atsumu declaring he'd toss to Hinata one day after Inarizaki loses to Karasuno, his soul leaving his body after he messes up post timeskip, and him being a menace and little shit in general. Suna filming all of the twin's fights instead of getting a teacher or trying to deescalate somehow. Aran being forced to play straight man and mediate all the time.

Terushima trying to emulate the sync attack and whiffing the ball. Hana scolding her team's asses and getting them back into shape.

Sakusa grilling Kageyama about every scrap of information about Hinata, carring a lint roller around, bevoming friends with Ushijima because he dried his hands with a handkerchief correctly. Komori being basically his handler because he hates crowds.

Hoshiumi getting upset when Kageyama wasn't in awe of him then getting more upset when he got called a "good reference." Hirugami not realizing that people wouldn't die if he played badly.

They're all drama queens and I love it. Go read Haikyuu!!

Dating him is such an experience to be honest

Nishinoya is naturally very loud and energetic, you’ll never get bored with him...I SWEAR

His perfect dates consist in doing as much things as he can squeeze into your schedule, arcade dates following by movies and ending in concerts or festivals

imagine jumping with a big crowd, you and nishinoya screaming their hearts out as you sing PLEASEE where do i sign??

Also, expect lots and lots of improvised trips. like, no destination at all. he just casually says “hey pack some clothes, we are going out” and you end up in the beach... or in the cafeteria downtown

I strongly believe that nishinoya is one of the bests persons to find comfort in, he is NEVER too tired for you

Whenever you text him about the bad day you had, he will be in your front door within the next 15 minutes

Nishinoya compliments you 24/7 and laughs the loudest at your jokes, even when they're bad. and his laugh is just SO genuine that you congratukate yourself for it

he unconsciously ends up giving you all of his hoodies and days later he would make a mess in his house looking for them because he forgot you have them

OMFG this baby crow is one of the most clingy and affectionate among the haikyuu boys

It is impossible for him to keep his hands off you! Especially when you are in public. Plants smooches all over your face and kisses your nose because “you look SO cute when you scrunch it up!! Do it again please”

Dating Nishinoya also includes helping him to dye his hair, he sits with a closed eye smile on your bed, like a puppy waiting for a treat, as you tint his hair. feeling your fingers in his messy hair makes his stomach flip

I see him as the type who will drop everything he is doing, the moment he sees you crossing the door

Whenever you bump into each other in the hallways, he literally runs towards you to plant a passionate kiss on your lips, pulling you by the waist to deepen the kiss as if he hasn’t seen you in years

and the fact he doesn't do it for being a dramatic but for missing you THAT much makes it all so heartwarming :')

He is very reliable and supporting but is the type that will also give you lectures when you do stupid shit

I bet it is very amusing for Nekoma to watch how his libero goes from angry yaku hitting lev to blushy yaku melting in your kiss all in the same minute

Always waits for you outside your class to lunch, shoulder resting on the door frame and hands on his pockets, a soft smile settling on his lips when you jog up to him

Honestly, he really loves PDA but he will hide it in public…or at least try it

Yaku tells kuroo YOU are the clingy one when in reality he is the one that wraps you like a burrito with his arms whenever you lay on the couch

since he gives me classy vibes, his ideal dates are taking you to a fancy restaurants…I mean have you seen timeskip yaku?? brrrrr

he LOVES to spoil you, like, at least two times per month you get cute necklaces or earrings or both!

When he finishes practice he just rests his head in the crook of your neck, getting intoxicated by your scent before mumbling a sweet “hi, angel” as you drag him out of the gym...

and everyone is like “awwwwww” but that is because they don’t get to see how he is atacking your neck with kisses that will surely leave a mark

warnings: Haikyuu spoilers - season 4, reader is a teeeeeny bit sadistic, smol bits of swearing

a/n: Pleaseee send in some requests, I am dying to write but I am inspiration-less at the moment haha. Rules for requests are here~ Also, I probably already forgot most of the stuff from season 4 so dialogue and stuff here is completely made up, with a few stuff from the anime intertwined :D Also I basically know nothing about volleyball so please ignore anything in here that isn’t right about volleyball lol.

Miya Atsumu was always well-known for his ability to wield two serves and his skills as his setter, so he was certainly taken by storm when you, just a mere first year, came onto the court.

“We’re finally here, after all that hard work”, you smiled gently grabbing the strap of your bag which contained a lot of candies.

“I know right! I can’t wait to go against Nekoma!”, Hinata grinned, jumping up and down excitedly.

Kageyama couldn’t be more sick and tired of the two of you, smacking Hinata as the two of you hurried to catch up to him. There on the blue courts were Inarizaki who were already busy practising, their setter Miya Atsumu setting for the other players as their libero and captain received the balls on the other side. Your team came just inside to see the twins in action, Miya twins, best volleyball duo by far. Honestly, unlike some of your teammates who were groaning to play against the second-best in the nationals, you were beyond excited, ready to crush them and see their defeated faces.

“Kageyama-kun, let’s go practice over there”, you pointed to one of the empty courts, all three of you headed over. Hinata and yourself took turns blocking and spiking Kageyama’s balls, while everyone else worked with Sugawara as their setter. You were far more experienced in volleyball and skilled, but it wasn’t that you were a genius like Kageyama, you worked hard and had a passion for the game.

Soon after, coach Ukai called the team over, speaking a few words before everyone bowed to the other team, thanking each other for the game. You shook your fingers out, getting rid of the nerves in them. The rotation was like this, in the front row, from left to right were Tsukishima, Hinata and Kageyama, then in the back row were Asahi, Nishinoya and yourself. You would be serving and you could hear the boos of the Inarizaki cheer team, yet, you ignored them. You focused on the lights in the ceiling, humming to yourself and mentally counting to 6. It was then that you made the approach, hitting a spike serve aimed directly at the corner, near their ace, Ojiro Aran, who was a bit more unsteady with his receives compared to some of the other players.

A few seconds passed before a loud cheer was heard from your team.

“YESSSSS! M/N-KUNN!”, your team yelled happily engulfing you in hugs.

The news reporters up on the stadium widened their eyes in surprise, immediately reporting to the cameras, “And Karasuno Highschool’s first year and former member of Shiratorizawa middle school has scored a no-touch service ace against the second place champions of last time, Inarizaki high!”

Fweeet!

The whistle rang again, but this time you counted to 4, jump floater serves required a bit more time and concentration than spike serves. As your fingers collided with the ball, you could feel it was going to be a good one, making you grin happily, watching as the ball glided shakily over to the other side, towards Ojiro again. This time, he received it, but way too off, the ball bouncing out of bounds. You watched gleefully as he covered his face with his hands, a gloomy aura around him while his teammates tried to cheer him up, patting him on his back. Heh, Atsumu-san, you aren’t the only one who can wield two serves, don’t get too cocky, I’ve seen your matches before, cocky little shit. The blond-haired setter of Inarizaki frowned slightly before a glint of determination flashed in his eyes. I’ll get more service aces than you...it’s not fair, im meant to be the only one who can do this...now i have to go against you and ‘samu.

“AND THE KARASUNO FIRST YEAR, L/N M/N, HAS SCORED A DOUBLE SERVICE ACE AGAINST INA HIGH! KARASUNO HAS A LEAD RIGHT NOW, BUT CAN THE FORMER CHAMPIONS CATCH UP!?” The crowd on Karasuno’s side cheered loudly, blocking out the ridiculously loud booing of the Inarizaki cheer squad.

“Nice serve M/n!”

You jumped and hit the ball, right back towards their ace yet again. It was a good idea to build pressure on him, seeing as he was one of the team’s highest scorers. Their libero quickly dashed in front of their ace and cleanly received the ball for their team, making you grimace at your failed attempt of a service ace. Atsumu set the ball for a black-haired boy, who you assumed was Suna, after watching plenty of their old matches. Kageyama and Hinata jumped up, but their block was easily avoided by Suna as he rotated his upper torso to spike around the block. Quickly reacting out of reflexes, you dived for the ball, hands flat like a pancake and managed to get the ball back up in the air. Kageyama quickly positioned himself under the ball and set to Hinata who, unfortunately, got completely blocked out by Atsumu and Suna.

After the match, where Karasuno had won an extremely close battle, you decided to wander around the halls for a while, having changed out of your jersey faster than everyone else. You turned the corner, spotting a mob of blond hair, leaning against the wall, earphones in and staring out of the window. You headed towards his figure, doing an experimental jab in his side.

“Argh! Who the fuc-”, he howled in pain, looking around angrily before stopping at you. All his anger melted as soon as he saw you, staring at him with the eyes of his captain.

“Y’know, you’re a cocky piece of shit.”

“Well ya ain’t any better, copy cat”, he sneered back, kind of shocked that someone just walked up to his, jabbed him and started insulting him!

“It’s not just you who can do whatever you do. You do realise?”

“Yeah, of course I do, who do you take me for?”

“Well then, grow up and accept that I am at your level, perhaps even higher. Stop sulking. It’s disgustin’ and reeks.”

“What’s with yer accent, it ain’t Miyagi accent.”

“Just mockin’ yer, hope to see you soon, Atsumu-san”, you turned your heel and walked out the hallway, leaving Atsumu to think about what you had just said. A moment later, his feet moved instinctively, rushing towards you and yelling, “YER CAN’T JUST INSULT ME AND RUN AWAY. NOBODY CAN DO THAT!!!”

But by then, you were boarding the bus home and he could see you peering out of the window winking playfully at him and pointing at his pants. Confused, he checked his pants, only to find a small folded up piece of paper with your phone number on it. Smiling, he rushed back to the rest of his team, hearing his captain call for him.

uhh part 2 because i have a lot of moots and i love you all. happy new years! i appreciate you a lot <3 part I

@taeya-san i feel like you’d be happiest in fukurodani. third year. girls volleyball player <3 you and konoha? kind of a vibe. you third wheel w bokuto and akaashi to get ice cream a lot but sakurai comes along too sometimes. you meet matsukawa by accident because he comes to tokyo on vacation and you run into him at the ice cream shop. you don’t ditch the others to hang with him but you get his number and you guys have a good relationship. you grow apart and sadly but mutually split. then you go to uni and go to watch some volleyball matches bc you miss playing and literally run straight into ushijima lmao. do i gotta say anything else?

@tetsurolls imma be honest. i see you at fukurodani being good friends with akaashi. i kind of see you more as like — an avid volleyball watcher or manager-in-training. you’re a second year. however — you have family in miyagi and meet iwaizumi there while on a run or walk. issa meet cute. he’s kinda a long-term crush you have but he’s kinda oblivious even though he likes you back and neither of you really act until he comes to tokyo and you guys both go to the same university.

@mostismore you should have gone to nekoma but y’all moved last min and ended up in seijoh. you like watching volleyball and picked up being a manager-in-training as an extracurricular in your first year. now you’re in your second year. you’re at this massive training camp and talking to some of the other managers and wind up meeting kuroo. you’re not super into him at first but as the week goes on you find yourself gravitating towards him and having incredibly productive and deep discussions about life and social systems and education. you end up exchanging contact info and stay long term friends until way into university, where you develop romantic feelings. lucky for you, he feels the same

@tsukkis-crybaby karasuno second year cheer squad. you would fight dia but sneak away in nationals to hang out with her lmao. you crack a joke at tsukki expensive when you first see him, something about him being a cornstalk, and he makes a snide joke back. you guys spend half a year bantering to the point where nobody except yamaguchi is sure if you have good or bad tension, and then another three months dating quietly, and then hinata catches you guys holding hands and is like “i thought you hated him??” and everyone else is like “where have you been.” also kiyoko has adopted you and you’re pretty chill with suga

@asteroikawa a seijoh, second year. you meet akaashi at the big training camp that everyone goes to, mostly because there’s a small group of third and second years that stay up late to study a bit and you end up sitting next to each other. you guys end up video calling to study after training camp, which eventually turns into you guys meeting up over your holidays for the next year in tokyo. he asks you out when you’re about to graduate, using the second button from his old school shirt that he saved for you.

@atsubos inarizaki cheer squad, third year. you meet bokuto in your second year when inarizaki goes up against fukurodani — he, literally, knocks you off your feet. bc you’ve got mad game, you get his number but he texts you first. you guys text and videocall constantly. you end up flying into tokyo during a break, and bokuto asks you out the minute you come off the plane. you say yes and exert significant other rights to have him cuddle you while you nap off the travel tiredness.

@liberhoe second year karasuno, manager in training. y’all vibe w tanaka and noya but imma be honest you meet yaku and hit it off. in the same way hinata collects setters, y’all collect liberos. you and yamagata send cursed memes back and forth. kageyama introduces you to komori and you convince him to play pokémon go because buizel looks like him lmao. yall have a wholeass squad going on. yachi is terrified. kiyoko is amused.

@sugawarakoushihoe third year karasuno. you jus kinda liked watching the boys practice but then kiyoko notices and ropes you in as a part-time manager. imma be honest i was gonna put u w tanaka but — you end up talking to daichi a lot bc you swing by to help w cleanup bc you have other extracurriculars and homework and stay late too. you’re kinda chill, so you help balance him out and reason with him. you guys gradually spend more and more time together until you very strongly imply he should ask you out and he laughs and does, right then and there.
