Eddie is different. Sure, he always has been - but this is something unlike any other quirk of his, or weird interest that he hyper fixates on - something about him is inherently different ; and has been since that night. At first you thought it was stress, which, it would be weird if what happened to him in that place didn't make him feel like his world had been shifted out of gear.
But it's the look in his doe eyes that have turned them into mirrors of hunger, unusually dark, onyx even. Something swirls beneath the depth of his irises, burns in the pit of his belly when he kisses you and has to stop himself from bruising your mouth.
It's the newfound sense of roughness where softness once was. The nipping of your skin, the way he inhales the scent of your flesh like it's something to be devoured; and maybe it would've been different, if he hadn't gotten carried away.
If instead of kissing your inner thighs, he pierced the soft flesh with hot irons where his teeth should be.
If maybe you were hallucinating, or dreaming, when a crimson scenery began to trickle down your knees and soak into the sheets of his bed. If he hadn't licked every stream like a man starved.
If maybe when he looked up at you, equally as horrified as he was enthralled, maybe you wouldn't have to figure out how to navigate life with a vampiric boyfriend.

like okay the thing is. the show is about characters who were hunting each other and eating each other in the wilderness so i just think. well. it was never gonna have a nat arc that tells her you're okay baby and your life has value sweetheart. like if it was a different show and nat simply had struggles with drugs and suicidal ideation because of the shit that happened with her abusive father and stuff and then she ultimately died tragically while trying to recover that could really be quite questionable but like. that's not the story? she wasn't getting better she was getting into a cult. that was led by the unstable old friend she was in a cannibal cult with before. she wasn't getting better she was getting into a cult mentality that's why her behavior was so strange people were thinking she's manipulating lottie when in fact she was just getting indoctrinated
i do NOT think it was meant to be a "redemption arc" either like i've seen people say. i do not think it was supposed to FEEL like redemption that's why it DIDN'T. you weren't supposed to be tearing up like oh but with this death she made up for everything they did out there. she never could! none of them ever can! it's not about that. i think it's supposed to be tragic in a preventable way to parallel jackie's death in a way. a different set of circumstances allowed her to survive in the wilderness and doomed her in the present. she saw a moose and brought people to the lake to make a hole in the ice and pull out the moose. the ice wasn't as strong in that place which is probably why javi stepping on there broke the ice. and she was gonna save javi but misty stopped her. and this time misty found her and called for everyone to come because she was there and nat's visions at lottie's cult set off the chain of events. and this time misty's attempt to save her just led to her death instead. nat's attempt to save lisa's life led to nat losing hers like javi's attempt to save nat's life led to javi losing his

honestly I think I’ve become less of an introvert since being diagnosed with autism + OCD and realising that socialising does not have to conform to what is “normal”. I can get a lot more out of human interaction now that I’m not always spending the whole time having to jump through hoops. to be clear I am still an introvert. just not as much as I used to be

I will say. 2 consistent comments I've gotten in tags when I'm happy with the hair on an illustration are that it's sculptural and very soft. which I could probably find a way to lean into. Except I'm trying to get a lot sharper and bolder with my shapes and a lot of times the hair is a contrast to that in a way that feels a little jarring

“and happy ever after!” “I wish!” let’s discuss. do we read it as two separate statements, OR do we read it as “I WISH for happy ever after” ?as in, “and happy ever after, I wish!” ?

Its become clear to me rather early that intelligence as we discuss it today is baked into eugenics, bc of the way people get genuinely grandiloquent and emotional about my intellect, always in a way that reinforces a kind of biological hierarchy. Like I'm not just smart, I'm "superior", I "dominate", etc. And its not lost on me how many of these hyperbolic admirers have been white adults, although I've sadly seen it parroted and internalized by all my peers (especially more racialized peers who were made to feel especially inferior). What is also not lost on me is how vehement my father was about the importance of being an intellectual, his way of desperately hanging onto that idea as a way to retain respect, how different his desperation was compared to the confidence of those white adults, and how many other migrants of his generation say the exact same words I've heard him say ad nauseam. So yeah. I dont much care about intelligence.

something fills me with deep rage about the fact that people feel the need to ask “do you mean first diagnosis or first symptom?” when I’m asking when they first started getting mentally ill. like. mental illness is a social construct in many ways, and many of us are forced to shape that around diagnostic labels. diagnostically, my mental illness journey looks very different to how I have experienced it. but that’s what dictates so much of how we talk about this shit. even in the privacy of our own heads, we don’t get to tell our own narratives about mental illness. bullshit

It's gonna be such a funny mess when Donald Trump dies of a stroke on April 1st, 2024.
Naturally everybody will think it's fake because of the date only to lose their minds (both positively and negatively based on their opinion of trump) when realizing it's real
There will be massive celebrations in the streets and on social media and lots of predictable "don't speak ill of the dead" discourse about those celebrations
Weird evangelicals will pull some weird number trick talking about how Jesus was conceived on April 1st and that makes Trump a sort of messiah and people will make fun of that
The Republicans (after they're done with the faux-sadness and faux-outrage) will stomp over each other to be his successor but none of them will succeed. They'll tear each other apart and have no single nominee for the November elections.
There will be discourse about if Biden and the living former presidents should go to his funeral (they won't, he was a traitor insurrectionist)
The Ukraine-Russia War immediately goes in favor of Ukraine as morale in the Kremlin is reduced. China similarly backs off from its threats on Taiwan.
Ten thousand new memes are made, some sticking around for years to come.
Not a month later a bunch of unofficial biographies of Trump hit the bookshelves, many with new details about just how awful he was.

pro-AI in the sense of "they taught a bread scanning computer to recognize cancer cells" etc etc
against AI in the sense of "we stole artwork from hundreds to thousands of artists, didn't credit them and didn't financially compensate them"
