I just found it very interesting the way Barbara goes back and forth between Riddler-Nygma-Eddie, and then I noticed that Riddler uses her name in a lot of different ways too. Anyways here it is, I hope someone finds it interesting as well. (see more of my thoughts below)

So yeah.. Thoughts 👇

First of all, obviously, the three times Babs calls him Eddie are very important to me. The first one is used so casually and in such a warm way, like "huh maybe he's not so bad :)". But then almost right after is the incident with the knife. And she kind of remembers that she should be wary of him actually. She calls him Eddie again after the cops beat him up and after he gets shot, so when she's worried about him 🥺💔

And the other thing that gnaws at me is the fact that she (not counting their first meeting) starts calling him Riddler as soon as they save Batman. In a way, I feel this is in part because of Bruce, like she doesn't want him to get an impression that she's been "fraternising" with the Riddler or whatever. But there's also this slight feeling of betrayal, like "yeah, Riddler, you're going back to Arkham, I got what I want from you so there's no need to pretend anymore". But this is of course refuted with the last "Eddie".

Idk in my mind they have this dynamic, where they do use each other, but also care about one another. And in the end it all comes down to the limit of how much they will allow themselves to be vulnerable, to follow thorough on their probably misplaced trust, and how important their principles are to them.

Anyways, as for the way Ed calls Barbara.. It's kind of funny the way he addresses her much more the she does him in the episode four, as he wants to get her attention 🤭 And in the episode six she does it more, because she constantly orders him around. I love when he calls her "Detective", it's always in a very playful way. The one time he calls her "Babs" looks like a nervous slip up, which is interesting considering than in the secrets in the dark he calls her Babs much more often 👀. The one time he calls her by her last name was when he tried to reason with her when she freaked out after seeing him with a knife, which is also.. of significance. And finally.. the "my dear" in the end ...... after all those "Riddler 😠"-s from her.... yeah.. that was a choice

After almost 2 weeks at home, the usual everyday life started again for me. I was back in my job and that day I had class with Dilek. I left out all my frustration about my new job at Dilek. 🙁 😩... Daniel had a hard time getting me out of bed every morning. I just didn’t want to get up. In bed I felt safe, while the world outside felt cold and threatening to me. But I had no choice and with Daniel’s help, I somehow managed to get up and today seemed to be a good day for me. I was in a better mood than the days before.

Dilek accompanied me on the way home because she knew I would see Philip. She “missed” him, you know? 🤦‍♀️ Just Philip wasn’t really excited when he saw Dilek. He still couldn’t stand her! Especially because she kept calling him number 2. But you probably wonder why I even met P.? Again! He said goodbye to me. Soon he had to go back to university. Just this time, he didn’t want to come back home, he wanted to stay away for a long time. 😨 😭 

Dilek: Why are you even dating him when you’re no longer together? Are you dating all your ex-bf’s? I mean, you haven’t seen Nico yet, so why Philip?

Me: Um, he called me! 🤷‍♀️

Dilek: But you’re with Daniel and you live with him!

Me: Daniel knows, Philip means a lot to me and will always be part of my life.

Dilek: And what about Nico? Is he still part of your life?

But I didn’t really hear the conversation between him & Dilek. I was more concerned with focusing on my breathing. 😰 Dilek saw that I was a bit unsettled and left me alone with Philip....

Philip: You shiver! You freezing, A.? My car is right there.

Me: No, I’m not cold! Can we stop for a minute? I need a cig.

Philip: Sure...I need to tell you something. I want you to hear it from me, before Daniel or anyone else tells you. It’s not a secret or a big deal! I saw Daniel’s sister a few times after I took you to her, when you left with Daniel.

Me: 🤨... See? 🤷‍♀️ ...That’s why I can’t be with you anymore! Why didn’t you tell me the other day when I was with you, in your bed? 😠 You almost slept with me! Even though you’re with someone else? You have no respect for me or any other woman!

Philip: But Idk how to decide yet. In a few days I will be back abroad and I don’t think I’ll be back home soon, if at all.

Philip: But Isabella’s fucking parents decide! They have all rights not ME! I’ve already discussed this matter with them! As soon as I finish my semester abroad, Annabelle comes to me! Then I’ll see what else can I do? But rn, I have no choice but to leave and finish my job!

Philip: I don’t expect you to understand this! It’s my life! You have yours and should urgently fix it!! I couldn’t help you, I failed and you’re right. Philip: Tell Ana good luck for college. And tell her I’m sorry. I’m not coming to her farewell party. I think she’ll understand. I’m leaving tomorrow with N.’s dad, because of this app I’m working on and then... I’m flying on.
