Rambling about Michael and the Celestial Realm
I headcanon Michael as very sympathetic and caring. He's very in tune with other people's emotions and cares deeply about making sure people feel happy and safe. That's part of the reason why he took Luke under his wing, because Luke is quite judgmental of demons and Michael wants to change that. If he was a human (or if he had the time) I feel like he would enjoy going to protests and fighting for people's rights, even if it doesn't effect him. There's a special place in his heart for women and lgbtq+ folks. Idk I just feel like he'd really vibe with them. I feel like he's really inclusive and overall not problematic. He is also very strict and passionate about stuff like that, if he sees any sign of discrimination or anything that goes against his morals he doesn't hold back on calling that person out and telling them off. This is also part of the reason people call him weird. I also feel he is demi-romantic because I am on the aromantic spectrum and I said so.
Because of his influence, the Celestial Realm is also very inclusive, all the angels are very nice and welcome everyone with open arms, as long as you too are kind. I feel there's a lot of pride flags and there are a lot of lgbtq+ angels. You know how in Poland there are rainbow paths leading up to churches and they're all very supporting of the queer community and stuff, It's like that. Sometimes you'll see angels walking around wearing their flags like capes, almost like everyday is pride month. Discrimination doesn't exist there in general, everyone is just really nice with each other and don't hesitate to stand for what's right or help someone when they need it. If you ever start crying in public or even look vaguely sad, you bet at least two angels will approach you and offer comfort. Of course if you'd prefer to be alone they'll leave you be, but later on the same people will check in on you to make sure you're feeling better. They're all very open-minded and non violent, if there's a problem they prefer to talk it out, and if there's anyone who is mean or violent, Michael will take care of them.
It could also be like Midsommar, if you've watched that, where everyone is a family and look after each other, and share things, not including the death and sex stuff tho. That also has some good Yandere potential, with the angels seeing you as some deity that they worship, or thinking you're pure and being obsessed with keeping you innocent and untainted.

"You've been here, what, just over a year? You might want to steady the ladder before you start climbing."
I am so excited to see what happens with Dedra Meero’s career. This incident will of course have a massive impact on her career and there’s definitely going to be a demotion or a firing (unless ISB chooses to silence her completely…).
There are a few lines in Season 1 that have really intrigued me. It’s mentioned that Meero hasn’t been there long and a few people want to see her fail, so I get the feeling her position is possibly controversial.
There’s also a line where she is reminded that she is supposed to stay quiet and not rock the boat, because they’re taking a risk letting someone like her have such a role in ISB, but it’s not clear what they’re referring to.
I’m very excited to see what they mean.
My current train of thought is that she is from a backwater planet that has only recently joined the Empire. Her story reminded me of when backwater Lothalian Pryce was trying to be taken seriously on Coruscant.
Could it be that Meero’s failure (as a representative from the outer rim) knocks the Empire’s confidence in Outer Rim planets. The Riot on Ferrix probably goes hand in hand with the Lockdowns on Lothal, but could Meero’s failings lead to the Empire’s harsher treatment of planets like Lothal and Tattoine?

Hey idk where else to put this but honestly idk if I’m gonna be doing ArtFight next year. I felt kind of overwhelmed and rushed to make art for like 90% of the bookmarks in my account, and even though there were some pretty fun designs, I think the appeal of making art for others is that I can take my time with it, and making so much art for others at one time made me feel burned out. (And then there’s the whole ordeal with the owner stealing donations is kinda news to me, and I prefer to distance myself from drama like that)
Plus it was just to see what it was like and I decided that it wasn’t for me, so even though I liked making art for others and vice versa, it was too much art for me, I hurt my fingers a bit with how much I drew that month lol
I prefer to take my time with my art and not feel like I have to get out 3-4 pieces a day, I know I don’t have to do that, but I can’t reason with my brain on certain things /g
(Edit 10-15-23): Plus the entire thing about making the points based on how detailed your art submissions were?? Oh my god, it was too much for a perfectionist like me, my last piece (the ice cream themed one) took 5 hours to make in 2 days, my fingers hurt so much at the end, I didn’t even want to pick up my tablet for the rest of the day. And then I had to make one more art piece the day after that to get more points for my team. And then we didn’t even win lol
I’m sorry, as stated before, I like to take my time with art and I don’t like deadlines, plus I was filled with this weird feeling of “if I don’t draw this person’s OC, they’ll be let down,” irrational but again, it’s how my brain thinks. Also the thing with the donations would explain why the site is so slow despite it being up for as long as it has been.

still unanswered questions after rewatching the umbrella academy:
the Jennifer incident?? (Ben’s death)
who or WHAT is Reginald Hargreeves? (Blue? Alien? Has seen multiple ends of universes?)
Abigail Hargreeves?? (Woman in a kryo capsule? On the backside of the moon? Where Luther was prevented from going to by a force field??)
Also I feel like there’s something about that QR code see in the after credit scene of the last episode of season 3. It’s on the right next to Ben on that bus. That can’t be coincidence.

this new song has me scratching my head because at first glance the lyrics kind of play out like your typical love song, but I keep getting stuck on the title: "No Promises to Keep"
looking at the lyrics, I'm trying to find the narrative: that the singer is talking about this person, and how it was neither fate nor destiny that brought them together, just random chance. so now that they are parting again, the singer hopes that chance will smile on them again and reunite them. there are no promises, no "I will find you"s or other intents to search for or wait for each other, just a hope that one day luck will bring them back together for good.
(which, in Cloud's own words: "Survival is a matter of luck or skill. And you can't rely on luck.")
laying all that out, the singer insists that they don't need promises, but I feel like the lyrics almost tell on themselves, especially paired with the video that was used for the trailer. the singer hopes that a reunion is in the cards, but hope itself is a sort of promise, betraying the casual attitude to their relationship. and especially I feel the video itself contradicts the "no promises" angle, because it feels like a theme going forward is all about how being a person, being a living creature in this world, is about the promises we make to ourselves and each other, such as Bugenhagen's promise to Seto, or Barret's promise to Dyne. (this is in contrast to Shinra, which makes and breaks promises on a whim.)
the singer (Aerith) says they don't want or need promises, they'll be fine if luck doesn't go their way again. and like, I can see a romantic angle to this, I do, but in the greater scope of Aerith's story, there's something almost fatalistic to this. it feels to me like the song is saying that Aerith is used to broken promises and has learned not to rely on them, because all they bring is disappointment. this also lends a melancholic read to her Resolve scene in Remake, where Cloud says he's coming for her and she just smiles sadly and says "thank you". if we read that this Aerith has some idea of what's in store for her, then there's the idea that she knows that she cannot be saved, and that Cloud is going to carry the guilt of not fulfilling a promise that was impossible to keep. so this is a way for her to say that he's off the hook, he's holding himself to a standard she never held him to, that he doesn't need forgiveness from her because she was never holding him to the promise he made. he was never going to save her, so it was enough that he was there at all. (all AC stuff btw.)
ONE FINAL THOUGHT (and this one is a reach):
because the phrase "promises to keep" makes me think of the closing lines to Robert Frost's "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening":
The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.
because maybe Aerith believes that there are no promises between her and Cloud keeping them together- but Cloud has promises of his own. the obvious one is Tifa, of course, but there's Zack, too. Cloud has to keep these promises he has made, and has to keep going, miles and miles, to where the promises lead him back home. but Aerith, who has "no promises to keep", will be parting ways with him and lingering in the woods.

"Tell your favorite creators that you like their work, people usually enjoy things silently, but hate tends to be loud"
This is a phrase I just heard from Dnd shorts that captures perfectly why I often try to make the effort of commenting on posts and telling people that I enjoy their work and why Even to small creators, I advice everyone to make the extra effort to tell them, I can guarantee it makes all the difference in the world, it's not cringy or obnoxious, it'll just brighten someone's day

There’s a difference between feeling ignored and feeling unnoticed.
Because feeling ignored is more of a “people see what I do, but do not think to acknowledge it,” but feeling unnoticed is a “people do not think to look at what I do in the first place, and thus do not acknowledge it. Both end up with a lack of acknowledgment and a feeling that no one cares what you’re doing anyway so why do anything at all :/

Idk if this is just me a thing but people being stingy with their money in terms of their friends is very much so a “this person comes from money” indicator. Like my friend had to go to the hospital recently and the hospital is only like 6 miles from our college. And she tried to give me gas money (and like an obscene amount of money for it too) and I refused to take it. But then a bunch of my friends here who also come from money were like “Oh I absolutely would’ve asked for gas money”.
I just fully do not understand that mindset. I had friends that came from wealth in high school who also acted that way. And I just fully do not understand that. Like for small amounts of money I do not expect my friends to pay me back because it’s more of a like “you’re my friend and I would think you would do something similar for me” sort of deal.
But the only people I know who are super stingy about friends paying them back for even the smallest things all come from wealthy families, which is so weird to me

Are you normal or are you the type of person who has ungodly amounts of rage inside of you but nothing to lash out? You can insult anyone in the best way possible but you are nice and chill (most of the time) and nobody messes with you.

a lolcow is obviously a bad and harmful thing but studying weird people online is a wonderful and soul enriching experience. but if u treat the fun of it as a product and engage with them to get more of this product, if youre "milking" the "lolcow", youre fucked. youre going down the path of darkness. it needs to be aetherial and loose. the better alternative is looking at lolbirds instead which is quite beautiful cuz, like birdwatching, its a process where u do not enact power and force over ur subject to make it show u what u want, you just let them naturally come by and show off their plumage (10000 near identically composed deviantart illustrations of different kids show character crying while getting knead into dough and baked[this happened in a single episode of a show the artist saw when they were 4]) and then u maybe show some of ur favorite feathers of theirs to your close group of friends and then let them pass on with the wind and u keep them as a sweet memory ❤
