That is...everything except for the presence of Mr. Xavier's stepfather Kurt Marko, who takes a vested interest in Erik and changes his life.

My Favourite J.T. Walsh Roles

Inspired by @tequilasunrise28 and her list!

Why Me? (1990) - Chief Inspector Francis Mahoney.

The first film I ever remember seeing him in. We rented it on video sometime in '91 or '92 and I loved every second of it! I always remembered the final scenes where he's trapped with his Deputy, Leon, on the 10th floor and getting progressively more angry at the situation! The no-nonsense attitude of Mahoney will always be up there in my top three of his roles. We love a character who takes no shit!

2. Tequila Sunrise (1988) - DEA Agent Hal Maguire.

We had this on a recorded VHS tape when I was a kid, along with The Cotton Club, and I wasn't allowed to watch either because they were 18s! When I eventually did watch it I was infuriated by Kurt Russell's character, Nick Frescia, helping his drug-dealer friend, Mel Gibson's Mac, escape a prison sentence by circumventing Hal's apprehension of him. I won't say how for anyone who hasn't seen the film, but Hal was totally done dirty! Myself and @tequilasunrise28 were so outraged, we collaborated on a fanfic for him!

3. The Negotiator (1998) - Inspector Terence Niebaum.

I saw this in July 1998, which was five months after he sadly died. I was 16 and utterly loved every second of the film. Full of great actors alongside our beloved J.T., you can definitely imagine that his career would have continued to ascend into bigger roles. I remember being devastated when his memoriam appeared at the end of the film, as it was only after seeing this film that I realised all of the other films and TV I'd seen over the years had actually included him. It was a great role for him where he wasn't entirely playing a scumbag and had just succumbed to the lure of a bit of cash to lose some records.

4. The Beniker Gang (1984) - Principal Arnold M. Stoddard.

One of his earliest roles in film and the meatiest he'd had at this point. He also isn't playing a bad guy which was so utterly refreshing! I only watched this in recent months and I was utterly hooked when I did! He plays such a wholesome character and is so softly spoken when dealing with the children, it's hard not to melt a little! I can't help but wish he'd played more of these sorts of characters...

5. Crazy People (1990) - Charles F. Drucker.

Less bad guy, more cold-hearted capitalist scumbag! My favourite scene will forever be the "I wanna know how the fuck the word fuck gets in the New York fucking times!". I saw this clip on TikTok and instantly had to find a copy of the film! I have no regrets and it is one of my favourites! I was also curious as to what his character’s past would have been like as he mentions starting his advertising career in Milwaukee, and I always wondered if he started out as this money-hungry company owner...

6. A Few Good Men (1992) - Lt. Col. Matthew Andrew Markinson.

A role he actually got to choose. Definitely not a bad guy role, and another role where I feel he was kinda done dirty as he felt the need to take the final action he did. Of all the Marine characters, his was the only one with the morals to actually do the right thing, despite what he knew it would cost him.

7. Outbreak (1995) - Whitehouse Chief of Staff.

A role that only lasted around four minutes and one scene, but it made such an impact that people to this day still talk about the passionate speech he gives in defense of the people they're discussing potentially bombing out of existence. This scene has also been immortalised on YouTube people love it so much!

8. Needful Things (1993) - Danforth Keeton III.

I just love this first scene he's in. A character with an inflated sense of self-importance and a chip on his shoulder about being called 'Buster'. He's not an inherently bad character, but he has a very large gambling addiction and succumbs to the temptations of the Devil in the hopes that he can win back some town money he gambled away. As he always did, he gave this character his all, truly excelling at highlighting the weakness of the character, despite the big, bold attitude he has in the beginning.

9. Breakdown (1997) - Warren 'Red' Barr.

Another big screen role that was beginning to open doors for him, he plays the sadistic kidnapper with uncanny ease. I feel sad that I didn't get to see this in the cinema, I saw it on video a few years later along with Pleasanville. Probably the role he's most remembered for outside of Good Morning, Vietnam and A Few Good Men.

10. Red Rock West (1993) - Wayne Brown/Kevin McCord.

Less a scumbag role and more of a 'I'm out for a quiet life with my embezzled money' role. Myself and @tequilasunrise28 have always wondered if his character was taken advantage of by Lara Flynn Boyle's character and he suspected she intended to off him so wanted to do the same first. Hardly a moralistic stance, but he does display some genuine concern for the people he works with when the young deputy is killed. I'll always wish we had a bigger backstory to his character...

Predictions, questions, good/bad/neutral about E3.

Why does this show make me so long-winded.

Predictions:

As I already mentioned, Jacob Keyes is not going to survive Reach. I don’t want this to happen, because death seems like too easy an out for him and the Spartans need their Dadmiral, but it’s close enough to canon. He can live on in my AUs.

Kai leads the Spartan-IIIs on Reach. In a couple of trailers we see her in a drop ship with what I’m now certain are SPI helmets behind her. Then she goes to Onyx and steps into the Kurt role. Or maybe she takes over for him. It’s probably too much to hope that we might see them working together. I’ll save that for headcanons and fanfic.

…Does this mean Kai will go out like Kurt at some point? Getting ahead of things.

Miranda is on Onyx doing artifact research and/or working on the science side of the S-IIIs. She did finally show up for two seconds in the “this season on” trailer.

The Covenant forces Cortana to reveal the location of Earth, which is why John is standing on a drop ship with Jupiter in the foreground in one of the trailers.

We will meet Noble Team in some form, especially if Kai is leading the S-IIIs into battle.

Reach is going down. There. At least one of these predictions is guaranteed.

Questions:

WHO is that S-III who looks an awful lot like Corporal Perez? Just a coincidental lookalike? If not Talia, maybe Kat or Lucy? I would love to see Tom and Lucy on screen.

Silver Team is, officially or otherwise, getting separated. Kai and Riz are both justifiably POed at John and Vannak isn’t too happy either, I imagine. Kai got pulled to the S-IIIs and Riz is wondering about “life without all this Spartan $#*!.” Are we going to see John as the one-man army we get in every Halo game except 5, and Silver will become recurring characters? Or, are we making room for John to get a new team? Maybe a team we know already? Like…Blue Team?

I am very curious what the Spartan-IIIs look like in this world. I get the impression they haven’t been around that long, but most of this is fan brain conjecture from trailers. Exhibit A: In one trailer Kai steps out in front of a formation of IIIs and we hear Ackerson saying “make them Spartans.” The IIIs already ARE Spartans. They’ve been around for 20 years by this point.

UNLESS. They’ve basically made the IIIs into the IVs. That could explain a Talia sighting and why Kai is getting tapped to train them. Maybe Reach is their first deployment.

If these are the IIIs who are more like IVs, maybe the Talia Perez lookalike is Sarah Palmer? I hope not, because Frankie Adams of The Expanse fame is live action Palmer in my mind’s eye and I want to keep that illusion as long as possible.

The suits look pretty similar.

Once again getting WAY ahead of myself.

How are they going to resolve the Cortana situation? In one trailer it looks like a Sangheili is putting her on a chip or disk of some kind. Is she going back in John’s head at some point? Who’s going to do this? If she stays on a chip do they have to retrofit his helmet and every other piece of UNSC tech?

Who’s this Var ‘Gatanai Talia names in the last scene? Did the show make an entirely new Arbiter? Is Var going to die and make room for Thel? Is Thel still leading the fleet and Var is on the ground? Does Thel not exist here? Last time we saw Makee she was about to touch the larger artifact. Did she ever touch it?What happened? Are we going to see her during the battle? Will she die again? Will she stay dead?

Good, bad, general commentary:

You all know what I want. I’m here for The Chief and Cortana Show. I want my Chief and Cortana Show. This is not the Chief and Cortana show. I want them back together.

I like how the show is giving us a peek into how the UNSC / ONI bureaucracy and agenda is as big an adversary as the Covenant. A good example of the show telling stories the games can’t. Not that shooting your way through ONI red tape wouldn’t be kind of a hilarious video game.

I currently don’t like how they just wiped Madrigal out of the picture, but I am reserving judgment for now to see how this plays out.

I love Ackerson. I hate Ackerson.

Kind of mad Cobalt Team turned up dead. They deserved better.

I still live in hope of one day meeting Avery Johnson.

Ackerson talks about John “interact[ing] with the Covenant agent” and says he read the report. So all that is common knowledge? And John is just walking around like nothing happened? Weird.

Laera being a boss lady and mama bear is awesome. She is truly the only woman for Soren.

I am SCREAMING and FLAILING and GEEKING OUT over the overt Christian references this season. Making me want to write my “what if a Spartan got religion” story. Gahhhhhh

If all of this is at Kurt and Courtney's house. I can see Kurt not wanting to get out of the bedroom at first...

(I smoked and my idea escalated... I have no clue what this is. I was the anon who talked about wanting fanfic about it all at first so shoutout to @that1bvbfan for the BBQ idea and everyone else sending in ideas. I don't write fanfiction and I do not want anyone to expect anything in the following. I tried to incorporate a lot of what all of you said including some breaking bad references. English is not my first language, it's like 2am and juat smoked be kind to me)

After a while Mike wonders about Kurt's absence. He asks Courtney about it. Drink in hand Courtney dissappears for a while and returns with her husband. Whatever happened behind the closed bedroom door remains a mystery to their guests. However they were content with keeping it that way; especially with both Kurt and Courtney seemingly in high spirits.

The couple quickly makes themselves comfortable on their patio furniture. While the two loved hosting, neither Kurt nor Courtney were known for their cooking skills. With some even fearing for their lives whenever Courtney entered a kitchen*; it usually was up to the other group members to provide food. Not that this was a big issue though. Especially Jonny loved to cook at any given event. His journey into the culinary world started with beverages. Last summer him and Mike build a little brewery in their garage; leading to a newfound passion in the younger Greenwood brother. Much to Mike's dismay, Jonny did not end up brewing any beer. Rather than anything alcoholic at all, he started brewing his own gingerale called Grünwaldbräu.

Even at this very BBQ Jonny stands by the grill flipping patties and sipping his own ice cold Grünwaldbräu. As Jonny takes another sip, he can't help but wonder how he ended up in a place like this. His new group of friends being made up of the most enticing group of junkies anyone could ever imagine. Mike and Courtney were always jokingly referring to each other as sisters, even long before he ever came into the picture. Courtney was even in Mike's band for a short while. Being friends with Courtney must leads to intresting people in your life. The proof of it was right in front of him on a patio. Just when Jonny got lost in the smoke coming from the patties his thoughts got ripped out of his mind when he heard a familiar laughter. It was Layne's.

Layne came into Jonny's life about 9 months ago the same way a lot of weird things in his life did. His older brother Colin. It's just that usually these things didn't have blonde dreadlocks and a goatee. Colin met Layne at a show and the two talked on the phone every night for the next few weeks. "I fell in love with every beautiful and grotesque word", that's what Colin likes to say. Jonny had to chuckle when he flipped a patty as the blonde singer asked "who the fuck orders a pizza to a BBQ? No for real there is like a pizza delivery dude at the front door. Dude looks like a rat. That's some Ninja Turtle stuff right there!" Ahh yes... The most beautiful words "pizza delivery dude at the front door".

Slowly someone raised their hand. With a sheepish grin Kurt explained...

"Didn't know if I'd ever come down you know?"

"Well except for the pizza!", Layne laughs. As the two were high-fiving Jonny couldn't help but notice how close the two blue eyed men were...

"Hey Mike... how do Kurt and Layne know each other again..?"

*(during the recording of in utero Courtney visited Kurt in the studio. She wanted to cook a roast. The band unplugged the oven ans acted as if it was broken

I have a question for you about “ shipping.” Do you ever accept things in fiction that you wouldn’t in real life? For instance, I love a good will they/ won’t they? in fiction especially in sitcoms. I understand that in real life it’s not healthy for people to drag things out so much, but I’m a sucker for it in stories. The tension is delicious. What matters to me( again, in fiction) is that the feelings are mutual the whole time.

Hey! First of all, I very much appreciate the random question; I like a nice lil question like this every now and then!

And the answer is a big fuck yes lol. Maybe that's wrong according to "anti-shippers", but seeing as I'm a fully grown adult who can understand the difference between real life and what I read/watch/write, I don't really see the problem. A lot of ships I love have done bad things in that regard. Barney/Robin is always one that springs to mind. Do I think they approached everything healthily? No. But I enjoy their dynamic and find them cute and that's all that matters. Diane/Same from Cheers are also up there. Super unhealthy, it was good for them to not end up together, but I love them all the same and they have more sexual tension than, like, any other relationship ever put on TV tbh.

I mean, one of my all time favorite ships is Gob/Tony Wonder. I've devoted literally over a million words on published fanfic alone, let alone drafts and meta and gushing on here. But having sex with each other and then taking a roofie to forget it is highly the start of a healthy relationship, let alone "faking" one's sexuality for an act of revenge. If I had a friend who did that or if *I* did that, I would have to say "dear god, get help."

And in terms of will they/won't they, I don't mind if one person has feelings and other develops them over time or something. Like Amy/Jonah in Superstore, for example, though I know you could make an argument that Amy didn't hate Jonah from the get go like she claims lol.

There are certain things I don't ship because they aren't healthy, but a lot of those often have to do with either the narrative treating it as healthy and amazing, or the chem the actors have isn't there or doesn't appeal to me. Kurt/Bl*ine is a BIG example for me, because, full offense intended, Chris and Darren have ZERO chemistry, and Blaine tried to fucking sexually assault Kurt and KURT had to apologize? I was mostly just annoyed at their relationship at first, then that happened and I turned into a true hater and it just got worse and worse, only to be treated as this super romantic endgame relationship. I'd like to think that if it was any other relationship I'd feel the same way, but who knows?

Tl;dr, yes, some ships are great without being healthy and I enjoy tf out of them! I love good tension and unhealthy dynamics every now and then as a treat.

What are your favourite Sebastian ships?

My favourite, and most consumed Sebastian ship will always be Kurtbastian, no doubt about that, but if I had to put all of his (common?) ships into a list from favourite to least favourite, this is what it’d look like!

1: Kurtbastian

Kurt Hummel and Sebastian Smythe.

I don’t quite think I can fathom just how much I dearly love these two, both separately and together. The potential they bring to one another for growth, redemption, explanation and development is practically palpable. The chemistry, courtesy of Chris and Grant, in the show is so entertaining to watch, and the direction of their relationship can really take a turn at any point. Do they start off with hate sex? Is it Kurt learning that Sebastian is an actual person with a family, hobbies and aspirations? Is it Sebastian personally reaching out to apologise to Kurt and something blossoming from that? Do they run into one another again in New York? It could be any of these options, alongside many more, and yet they all bring us a beautiful outcome in this pairing. They’re not so cookie cutter, they’re unique and compatible in so many different ways. Their wit and humour is so easy to intertwine that I sometimes forget they aren’t a canon couple. I just absolutely adore them.

2: I need to distinguish how much I love Kurtbas by stating that nothing even compares to them.

Like seriously none of the ships below even remotely compare. That’s how much I adore these two.

3: Warbler Ships.

Sebastian Smythe and Jeff, Nick, Thad, Wes, David and Trent.

These are the type of ships that I’ll read and I have no problems with, I just don’t actively ship them in my own glee universe. I read a beautiful fanfic a few years ago about Thad and Wes helping Sebastian overcome some self infliction habits, as well as a similar one with Nick where they’d write letters to one another. They were lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed them, I just don’t ship any of them religiously like I do with kurtbastian. KB are my endgame, I don’t even see these couples as midgame.

(That being said, I do think Jeff and Sebastian have most likely made out before. Not in a midgame type of way, more of a heated fling, I picture it to be a situation where Nick and jeff were on a break, and the boys kinda just got caught up in the moment while watching movies. It was something they just needed to try and get out of their system, and it’s followed by Jeff realising that Nick’s lips are the only ones he ever wants to kiss, and Seb understanding that maybe the idea of being romantically exclusive to somebody wouldn’t be a bad thing, and it would actually make him feel special. It doesn’t affect their friendship negatively, they’re still best buds, but Nick definitely gives Sebastian some side eyes when Niff are on the mend and he learns what happened.)

I think a good summary of how I feel about these ships is that when I’m reading their fics, I’m reading for Sebastian and Warbler characterisation separately, not Sebastian and Warbler romantically together, but they’re still cute fics!

4: Huntbastian

Hunter Clarington and Sebastian Smythe.

For me Huntbastian is kinda mid tier. I don’t actually like Hunter very much as a character, and I think Seb is far too good for him (I’m also very persistent when it comes to reminding people that the steroids scandal was all Hunter’s doing). However, there are definitely a few fics that I’ve read where this ship is quite cute. I suppose because we don’t know a lot about Hunter, nor do we know if the stuff we do know is even true, I think this ship is completely dependent on how the former is portrayed by each fic writer/artist. They have fanon potential, but I don’t appreciate Hunter enough to delve into that myself, despite the fact I have enjoyed little bits of media between these two every now and again.

That being said, I personally think these two actually have some very dark potential considering the power dynamic established in the show, and you know me, I love putting Sebastian in tough situations.

5/6: Starsmythe and Coopbastian

Elliott ‘Starchild’ Gilbert/Cooper Anderson and Sebastian Smythe.

First of all, idk if Elliott and Seb have a ship name, I just came up with Starsmythe on the spot, but if they don’t I think that should be the new one.

Much like with number three on my list, these are the kinds of ships that I don’t really see together in general, and I don’t see them happening in canon at all (well maybe Starsmythe could’ve if they’d actually met, but they didn’t), they’re just fun for experimenting with stories and ideas, or sometimes they’re a catalyst for other ships (Elliott with Kurtbas and Cooper with Huntbas from what I’ve read). I did read a really sweet KB fic where Sebastian got sick in New York, and Elliott helped Kurt look after him, so although they weren’t romantically involved, I thought it was just so sweet and had potential.

So again for these guys, I read more so for separate characterisation, and to get my Sebastian fix after I devour everything in his tag excluding seblaine, but they have possible fanon potential!

7: Sebklaine

Sebastian Smythe, Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson.

(Does it annoy anyone else that in both sebklaine and klaine Kurt is only the K? Like mmm it’s not a vibe.)

I don’t really know what to say about this ship. Do I hate it as much as Seblaine? No I don’t, but do I actively love it or consume it’s media on my own? Also no. The only time I’ll read Sebklaine fics is if the title and/or summary really grab my attention, or it’s primary focused on Kurtbas with only a smidge of Blaine, otherwise I’m not overly interested myself.

I personally don’t think this trio would work very well at all, I actually don’t think Blaine could be in a polyamorous relationship with anybody for that matter. As we see in the show, he’s incredible insecure and very jealous, imagine how he’d behave if he had to share his partner with somebody else? And I’m not putting my Bastian through that :(.

8: Sebofsky:

Sebastian Smythe and Dave Karofsky.

I think Sebofsky is such a neutral ship to me. I don’t dislike it, but I don’t actively ship it either. I’ve read a few fics of this pairing, nothing that particularly stuck out to me, but that’s not to say they were necessarily bad, just not my personal cup of tea. Something I actually would’ve liked to have seen from the show between these two was an apology from Seb to Dave after his attempt, but since we never got to see that I just like to assume it happened off screen. Now had we have seen a scene similar to that, maybe I would feel differently towards this ship, both positively or negatively, but we shall never know.

Not a bad ship, not an amazing ship, just a ship to me!

This might be a hot take, and I’m probably going to get shit for it, but I think Sebastian deserves better than Blaine. I think everyone deserves better than Blaine, I do not like Blaine :).

Seblaine’s only redeeming quality, at least in my opinion, is that at least Blaine is a gay male and not a girl, or god forbid a lesbian girl.

10/11: Sebtana and Smytheberry.

Sebastian Smythe and Santana Lopez/Rachel Berry.

I will not touch these two ships with a ten foot pole. I’m all for personal expression, and at the end of the day you can headcanon characters as whatever sexuality you want to, there is nothing we can actually do to stop you, but I personally think there’s a huge difference between hc-ing a straight person as another sexuality, and hc-ing a canon gay character as straight. It’s reductive, you’re taking away their minority, you’re removing with a snap of your fingers the oppression people have been fighting again for years, these characters are iconic for what they represent, Santana especially: canon gays in modern media who aren’t totally defined by their sexuality. And I know some of y’all are looking at this with a side eye because it’s “not that deep”, but it is to me. If Sebastian and Santana had both been canon bisexual in the show, I actually think Sebtana is a ship I could get behind, but they aren’t, and therefore it’ll never be okay with me. They are both gay, a homosexual and a lesbian, so I will never see them romantically involved.

And as for Rachel, the compatibility between them isn’t very strong in my opinion, Rachel would be too much for him, I think it takes a certain type of guy to handle her, especially pre-S4. He’d lose his patience pretty quickly over her behaviour anyway, excluding the fact Sebastian likes men.

What Is This Feeling? (Kurt x Dave)

A/N: This is for @ghostlyplacetobe who wanted to see a Dave x Kurt fanfic. And I think this ship is underrated.

Kurt was grumbling as he saw the new recruit talking to Dave Panpa. It's been a week since Jacob Rose joined and Dave has been spending time with him, and not with him.

When Dave first joined the team to be a security guard since he got fired from his old job, Kurt thought he was the most annoying person he have ever met. Kurt was not a people person, he's an introvert and hates it when people talk to him when he's not even interested.

Dave was assigned to him and he tried to make friends with him but Kurt shut him down pretty quickly.

Kurt was known to be the most standoffish security guard Dave have ever encountered, Dave have tried so many times to get to know him but alas, to no avail. Kurt didn't snap at him or anything because he knew Dave was sensitive and he didn't want his boss to write him down again.

Kurt suddenly felt a dark feeling as he saw Jacob hugging Dave, he grumbled some more as Dave waved goodbye to Jacob. Dave was heading toward him, Kurt quickly dropped the dark mood as Dave was now in front of him. "Hey, Kurt," Dave said tentatively.

"Hmm," was Kurt's response.

"Uh, Jacob was telling me that the boss wanted to write you up for something that you said to him," Dave explained nervously as he didn't meet Kurt's eyes.

Oh.

Oh yeah.

He now remembered what he said to Jacob, Kurt was in a grumpy mood that day and snapped at Jacob. The reason why is that Jacob was a little too friendly to Dave and Kurt was angry about it.

Kurt's face was red with embarrassment and a little bit of annoyance. Dave still wouldn't look him in the eye, Kurt let out a grunt. "For what?" he asked, already knowing the answer to his question.

"You said some mean things to him," Dave responded as he finally looked at Kurt, Kurt saw Dave's expression.

He was angry at him and Kurt did not like it.

"Yeah, I did," Kurt said, tone filled with annoyance.

Dave was getting angrier by the second, usually, he will let Kurt's behavior slide since he was new to being Kurt's partner but this time, he was getting annoyed. Kurt saw Dave was getting angry and he raised an eyebrow in confusion. Kurt has never seen Dave angry before, upset or nervous but not angry.

"Why are you so mean?!" Dave questioned, hands tightening into fists, "You're so mean to everyone including me!"

Kurt was about to protest but Dave wouldn't let him.

"Every time I see you, you're either in a bad mood, you're annoyed by everyone, or just being a jerk in general," Dave ranted, feeling angrier than ever before, "You treat everyone besides the boss like they're beneath you and it's tiring."

Kurt saw Dave was shaking and he could have sworn he heard Dave sniffling, "Especially me..." Dave continued, voice cracking and hot tears streaming down his face, "Why me! All I did was try to be nice to you and all you did is bash me and don't make an effort to get to know me!"

Kurt suddenly felt guilty, he didn't realize that he was hurting Dave. He knew he was hurting Jacob, Sam, and the other security guards but not Dave. Dave stopped ranting as he silently sobbed, he was shaking, and his fists were clenching. Kurt didn't like the situation he was in right now but there is no use in running away. Dave was staring at him with his red puffy eyes, he crossed his arms and waited for Kurt to respond.

However, Kurt didn't respond to him.

Kurt just stared at him, not saying a word, and just stared at him blankly. Dave didn't like this. "Well?!" he snapped.

Kurt jumped at Dave's tone, he didn't expect that, and he was feeling quite awkward now. Dave was still waiting for Kurt to respond but Kurt looked away from him.

Dave scoffed, "That's what I thought,"

Dave left Kurt alone to ponder his thoughts.

It's been a couple of days since Dave's blowout with Kurt, and Dave stopped hanging out with Kurt. Dave even requested to be assigned to Jacob Rose as his new partner. Kurt on the outside seemed fine but on the inside, he felt hurt and guilty.

He hated to admit it but he missed Dave.

He missed Dave's chatters, his nervousness, his way of trying to make friends, and his friendly personality in general. Kurt sighed as he looked down at the floor, hoping it will give him a distraction from Dave's absence but it didn't. He lifted his head and saw Jacob and Dave leaving together. His eye twitched as he sighed heavily, he checked the time and it was closing time. He rolled his eyes, it's not like he has a reason to go home. He doesn't have anybody and he has to stay at the museum for the night shift anyways.

Kurt decided to go to the break room but as he turn around to head there, he bumped into another security guard.

"Kurt," said the security guard.

Kurt blinked in irritation and was about to tell off the security guard but he saw Sam Turner staring at him firmly.

"What?" he said angrily.

"Okay, forget it," Sam said, annoyed, they weren't taking Kurt's shit. "I just wanted to help you with-"

"Wait, no!"

Sam blinked as they saw Kurt looking...vulnerable. They have never seen Kurt look vulnerable, they have only seen him grumpy or irritated.

"I'm sorry, Sam," Kurt felt himself gag upon apologizing, he was never good at apologizing and admitting he was wrong, "It's just..."

"I know," Sam interrupted, "You miss Dave and you want to talk to him but he's ignoring you, right?"

Kurt nodded solemnly as he crossed his arms, "If you want him to talk to him, you have to listen to him and listen to him what he wants," they continued, "Also, you need to apologize to him and Jacob."

Kurt was listening to Sam and at first, he didn't want to do what Sam suggested but... he wants Dave back. "And I know that admitting you're wrong and apologizing is hard for you, right?" Sam asked.

Kurt blinked and he nodded.

Sam smiled, "It might not be easy, however, you and Dave won't feel better if you don't apologize for your behavior toward them,"

Kurt thought for a moment then nodded, "You're right, thanks Sam... You have given me a lot to think about."

"No problem," they replied happily, Kurt was about to leave but Sam stopped him with a question.

"Do you like Dave?"

Kurt froze upon hearing that question, he glanced behind him to Sam staring at him with a raised eyebrow, Kurt felt his heart beat faster.

"What?" Kurt asked, he was trying to make sure he heard that right, "I'm sorry, what was the question again?"

Sam blew out some air in frustration, "Do you like Dave?" they questioned firmly, "And I don't mean like him as a friend but as like like him,"

Kurt's face was red as a cherry.

Kurt looked away from Sam who smirked in triumph, Kurt wanted to tell him he doesn't have feelings for Dave but he felt himself feel warm. "So?" Sam said smugly.

"Fuck off!" Kurt snapped as he went to the break room, Sam laughed as they followed him to the break room.

When they went to the break room, they didn't realize that someone was eavesdropping on their conversation. Dave was walking to the break room to get his stuff when he heard Kurt and Sam talking about him. He hid himself away from the guards so the guards wouldn't see him and he heard their entire conversation.

The next day, Kurt was drinking coffee when Dave approached him.

"Hey, Kurt," Dave said anxiously, "Can I talk to you now alone?"

Kurt looked at Dave who wasn't looking at him and Kurt thought he saw his face was red. Kurt shook his head, he thought he was still half-asleep. Kurt nodded and followed Dave to a secluded area. Dave didn't speak and neither did Kurt, they both stood there silently for a couple of seconds. Then Dave started to speak, "Kurt I-"

"I'm sorry,"

Dave blinked at Kurt in confusion, "What?" he asked.

"I'm sorry," Kurt repeated, "I'm sorry for being mean to you and to Jacob, I know what I did and said was wrong. I shouldn't be mean to you and Jacob."

"And it's hard for me to admit this stuff but..." Kurt continued, "I'm so sorry."

Kurt didn't look at Dave, his face red, and his heart beating faster. Dave didn't say anything after Kurt's apology he didn't even look at him. Kurt took his silence as rejection, "Yeah, I understand, I better be going. I have work to do... so bye,"

Kurt was about to leave when he felt someone grip his arm, he turned around to find Dave holding his arm. He was about to question what Dave was doing when he fell down to Dave's level and felt a pair of lips on his lips.

Dave was kissing him.

Kurt's face was red and so was Dave's. The kiss lasted for a few seconds, then Dave pulled away. "Thank you for the apology, but I can't forgive you... not yet anyways," Dave murmured, "And I like you too,"

Kurt's face was now furiously red, he nodded, and they both looked away from each other. Kurt then blinked for a moment, how did Dave know about his crush on him? He was about to question Dave when he felt arms around him, and Dave was hugging him. Kurt sighed and hugged back, he can ask Dave later.

They kept hugging, they both didn't want to leave the hug but reality can be a cruel mistress.

They both heard a click and giggles, they both turn to the source and found Jacob, Sam, and the other guards laughing while Jacob was holding up a camera. Kurt growled as he let go of Dave and started running toward the guards. Jacob, Sam, and the others quickly ran away from Kurt.

Dave was chuckling as he watch Kurt chased Jacob and Sam. He knew Kurt wouldn't hurt them but it was funny to watch Jacob and Sam cry like little girls.

Kurt got in trouble later that day but he didn't care, he got to kiss Dave and he was happy. Happy for the first time since forever

Hey Jenny! I hope you are fine:) and thanks for asking. This is an interesting question which I never though about. I love Kurt canonically but I love writing for both Blaine and Kurt. Let's see. I don't even remember their lines. I have to google now:).

Kurt:

1. Of course, Burt and Kurt moments. Enough said. I always wanted to talk like this with my parents so I pour all my imagination conversations into fanfics.

2. "I wasn't honest about who I was."

I interpret it this way. Kurt keeps hiding things till it comes to boiling point if it makes sense. I mean he's out and proud. But it takes time for him to acknowledge that he's hurt or he's hiding something(that's why I am thinking of a vampire fic? I have time🤷‍♀️)

3.The conversations that happened between s5 klaine like when Blaine moved out with Sam or the insecurity talks.

Blaine:

1."Do you think my dad built a car with me because he loves cars? I think he did it because he thought getting my hands dirty might make me straight." I used this premise in one of my multi chap fic(Living Haphazard)

2."It knew that our hands were meant to hold each other's, fearlessly and forever, which is why it's never really felt like I've been getting to know you, it's always felt like I was remembering you from something. As if in every lifetime you and I have lived, we've chosen to come back and find each other and fall in love all over again, over and over for all eternity. And I just feel so lucky that I found you so soon in this lifetime because all I want to do, all I've ever wanted to do is spend my life loving you."

This. Basically explains lovey dovey Blaine;)

3.I love Blaine singing to Kurt. The scene when Kurt comes in smiling when Blaine sings "all of me" just stands in my eyes still. I just want to serenade him without any upcoming fights or ongoing ones.

Abled culture teaches abled people to be entitled. You are entitled to never have to learn anything about disability and ableism. You are entitled to get to move through the world, and through our movements, with little-to-no understanding or political analysis about disability, even as you pontificate about every other system of oppression and violence. Abled culture in our movements mean that we will say, “we must center those who are most impacted,” all day every day, but then not include disabled, especially those who are high risk, in the center during a global pandemic. Abled entitlement means that you will still continue to plan your vacation abroad, even amidst the Delta surge; you will still post pictures from your giant family holiday gathering amidst the Omicron surge.

You are not entitled to our deaths. You are not entitled to the deaths of our loved ones in the name of capital, privilege and “normal.” You are not entitled to our silence about our pain and suffering and the wet tar grief that envelops us. You are not entitled to our fear and terror at the worsening conditions and chaos of this pandemic, wondering if we will ever be able to safely leave our homes again.

The worst thing about chronic illness is the way you follow all the good self care advice, and your body still goes 'nope'.

Get a decent night's sleep? Wake up feeling completely unrested!

Eat the nutritious, balanced diet? Have your body completely reject it, so that you absorb next to none of those nutrients, and end up reaching for a giant pouch of Skittles for energy, because it's better than nothing!

Exercise? Get hit with post-exertional malaise so you can barely get out of bed for the next two days! (Ditto for showering.)

And then you tell people that you've tried doing the healthy things, and they don't work on you...and people act sceptical, like you're just not trying hard enough. Like you don't want to be well. But when the trying hard leads to nothing but your body giving you a giant 'screw you', it's easier and more effective to not even bother.

Tag Game

Got tagged by @amorphousgenderlesscryptid and @puella-peanut in two tag games with some overlapping questions, so I am sharing the two. Thank you and excuse the delay; the reasons I take very long to answer tag games is that I almost exclusively use Tumblr on mobile and that isn't ideal for things like this. But I enjoy them so I've started up the laptop!

First ever ship: I was so conventional when I first started shipping at thirteen or so. I took the ships that were given me and what fodder the magazines would give me to indulge them with. I never even considered alternatives, honestly, we had dial-up internet that was hella expensive to use, what was I going to do, read fanfic and explain the bill? Yeah, no. So my first ship was: Romeo & Juliet, from the Baz Luhrmann movie. "My only love sprung from my only hate", gah, in English I did not understand even with the subtitles, which I also didn't understand, it was deliciously complicated, which I had no idea would become something I am attracted to.

Last song: It's All Coming Back to Me Now, Celine Dion

Last film: Knives Out, to better appreciate the Glass Onion on my dash. Good film that took an hour to get interesting to me, so if not for Tumblr, I would have stopped. That one's on you.

Currently watching: I'd watch Slow Horses series 2, if getting a better vpn to pirate with wasn't still on my to do list.

Currently consuming: Tea, I think it is ceylon?

Currently craving: I just ate, so not food, though, very deep, direction in my life.

Currently reading: A backlog of so many Saturday editions of De Volkskrant newspaper. You do learn new things, although why people need a 5 page article to come to the conclusion that young people without prospects, going to underfunded schools, living in bad houses and getting discriminated every time they are trying to get out of these conditions are gasp more prone to radicalisation and the violence that comes with it is, I mean - sometimes I really feel that people are emotional morons. How is this possibly news. Everyone who cares even a little must sense this, if they haven't yet had it confirmed? The Science page is cool though, if hard for me to get through, I understand so little of it. Also the book tips.

Underrated little thing I love about sweet Cherik: they're so European! I can lampoon all my German and British relatives through them, indulge writing a little German that is critically not about Germany (because I do not live there, actually). Why are there no Dutch mutants, though. Really why. I need to write somebody from either the Holland region who feels right at home with the supposedly rude New Yorkers or someone from Twente who is critically out of their depth in America and curls up with Kurt to watch football although Kurt is German and that has some trauma attached but at least they know at what time you are supposed to serve coffee, and not that Starbucks stuff. (Which is not to say many people from Twente would not love city life. Yet, people who stay to make a life in Twente often do so because metropolitan life is the antithesis of what they value and enjoy).

Silverusso

I started 2022 with the words "Hold up, new fucked up ship just dropped!" It has been a ride, and it introduced me to the potentially even more fucked up - though I do hope for everyone involved never actually realised! - 'ship' that is Cuba and his Teddy Bear. But oh, Terry. I am just so incredibly in awe of how he came to Cobra Kai and made everything about it fit him. If you know how much of the OG cast struggles with the writers' takes on the material, and not only did Thomas make the evolution of Terry from TKK3 to Cobra Kai seamless, Silverusso gives Cobra Kai, and especially Daniel in Cobra Kai, the hook to even make sense: Daniel/Amanda, Daniel's visceral reaction to Cobra Kai, Daniel's darker side (always on display), and of course Ralph has played that since the beginning but you need a knowledge of Terry to completely see what they have been building up to. And then of course the rapport between the Cobra Husbands, giving Marty a new angle as Kreese. Thank you, thank you Sir!

Even murkier than Silverusso when I want darkness and messed up dynamics, but gives you licence to go adorable with them without the danger of oocness because you have complete freedom to decide who the character of Percival Graves actually is. The only one we spend time with in the movie, after all, is his impersonator. Also, no new canon to mess things up anymore, which is great for me as I lack the ability to ignore canon. It always has to come back into my fic some way, which is very bothersome when, again, the canon writers do not actually care about anything but status and money.

These are always torture for persons with the self-confidence of a lemming, but I’ll give it a shot because I also love talking about my writing. No, there’s no logic in it. Yes, I’m a human disaster. So, in no particular order.

Tales Untold: IN BETWEEN (#11) (The Lord of the Rings)

In Between is arguably the height of the Stewardaides Crisis that shakes Aragorn’s rule post-Ring War. It’s part of one of my longest fanfiction series, and while with series-projects, I am always inclined to like the last part best ... Emotionally and technically, this is, I think, the one that stands out. One by one, plot details are being revealed that there has been foreshadowing for ever since part 1 of the series. With three of the protagonists in captivity and in mortal danger, the stakes are obviously high enough, but there’s also a lot of emotional development going on with Legolas and his father finally working through some issues and Aragorn and Legolas finally settling a terrible fight that has been going on for four series parts at that point. This is the one that brings peace to Ithilien and Legolas’ canonical settlement there, it’s breathing life into the post Ring War era and develops Aragorn’s and Legolas’ friendship. It’s also as a milestone regarding Legolas’ canonically neglected characterization, and if I am to use the word proud about any of my writing which I am very hesitant to, this would probably win the prize.

24/7 (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

24/7 statistically is the most successful of my fanfics in our German archive (where I have published about 130 stories of the hundreds of fanfics I wrote in my 30 years of writing). That is, in part, because this was probably the only time I was, as an author in the right place at the right time. In 2013, I loved the MCU as much as I came to hate it these days, and so did millions of other people, and my main ship for once was quite popular as well. Therefore, I somehow managed to attract a lot of attention with 24/7, in spite of experimenting with a writing style I am not usually comfortable with: Writing in present tense. The idea for 24/7 was inspired by the concept of the 24 series. There was a chapter for every hour of a day that Natasha spent by Clint’s bedside after he’s been shot and is on the brink of death, shortly after the events of the The Avengers-movie. While Bruce is fighting for Clint’s life and the other three team members are trying to comfort Natasha, she recollects her time with Clint from their first meeting to this day in flashbacks. Each chapter is divided in the present events and a section of their past. The whole project was technically very demanding but it also takes a huge emotional toll. With everything I hate about MCU this days, this one is for the canon avoiders who refuse to believe anything after Winter Soldier happened and are entirely happy with the Avengers living as a functional, loving team in Tony’s tower. It’s a love story both to what the MCU could have been and about Clint’s and Natasha’s relationship that will never be conventional and can only end in tragedy one day, but it’s also about them realizing that until that happens, they need to make the best of every day. From the technical requirements alone, I think, this is one of my better works.

All Or Nothing: CAN'T LET IT GO (#3) (American Idol RPF)

All Or Nothing is a series about my waning love for casting shows, about everything I used to love about them before the concept became stale recently. It’s less an RPF than a self-insert as the female protagonist has a lot of details from my own life and experiences. While some former judges and media members of the German version of American Idol exist in ths, as well as cameos of people like Alanis Morissette, LeAnn Rimes, Roxette and Kurt Nilsen, the story is mostly a classic romance with lots and lots and lots of my favorite music involved. It contains my experiences at my own American Idol castings as well as my experiences with managing a German rock musician for a while and pulls no punches regarding the deadly sides of showbiz. One contestant in this fictional season of (German) American Idol dies in a depression-induced accident while my protagonist slips into pill addiction in the course of the series to handle the pressure. The relationship between her and future German Idol winner JC especially in this series part is put to the ultimate test after the death of that contestant who used to be JC’s best friend, and when another contestant outs Vic’s and JC’s so far secret relationship to the media, a gigantic shitstorm breaks loose. I think it’s mostly how the protagonists hold on to their performances, to the music they love so much, to save their sanity, what makes me love this so much. When Vic performs songs like May it be and Into the west for their deceased friend in the show and the whole studio is crying, this is what I used to dream of myself as a kid (until it became clear I’m a shitty singer, oh well). Probably more a personal favorite of mine than a masterpiece, but that’s what this list is also for, no?

Weathered I: FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE (#9) (X-Men original timeline movieverse)

With me editing and continuing the two Weathered series right now, this can’t be missing of course. While two of the stories mentioned so far are love letters to their respective canon, this is a declaration of war. This is rage. This is my whole disappointment that came with X-Men: The Last Stand and the new movies including Dark Phoenix, too, after I fell in love so damn deeply with X-Men and X2 at the time. So what I did here was build my own canon in that verse, with the ships I prefer (Jean and Logan IMO just have so much better chemistry in the movies, and I ship Scott with happiness, sorry not sorry), and then ruined it to the ground with tragedy, by finally giving those original movie characters the Dark Phoenix saga they deserve. For Better Or For Worse is set some months after X2 and finds the X-Men devastated and highly confused after Jean just returned from the dead only to set all of New York on fire and then fuck off to space in the shape of a gigantic flaming bird. With Charles revealing to them what he’s long suspected, that an alien all-powerful demon named Phoenix has taken possession of Jean, the X-Men venture on their greatest adventure yet to find Jean and try to separate her from the demon to stop it and save Jean’s life, before Dark Phoenix will destroy all life in the universe. While it does of course have my own ideas, this Dark Phoenix saga version is inspired a lot by the X-Men cartoon version, including the final battle on a piece of rock and resurrection in the shape of all team members giving part of their gift to save Jean. It’s not even a horribly complicated story, and it is beyond me how Hollywood managed to fuck that up two times in a row. So I just had to grab my imaginary Infinity Gauntlet and do it on my own. And holy shit, did I have a lot of fun with it. I incorporated not only the cartoon but many of my favorite Marvel elements that I used to love as a kid in this. The Defenders of the Earth from that old cartoon are the ones that get the honor to take the X-Men to space. Charles gets to fight his once-every-few-years-girlfriend Lilandra to stop a whole alien race from just killing Jean’s ass off cold. We get Logan discovering part of his past and his real name and Remy and Marie beginning their relationship amidst tragedy. Every scene is sadness and pain and also character development, and there’s nothing less but the whole universe at stake. Sometimes when I reread this, I get the feeling, maybe I don’t suck as much as I think at least two times a day as a writer.

Crossing Lines: INFINITE SADNESS (#6) (Star Wars)

This, funnily enough, wasn’t meant to be war, because when I wrote the Crossing Lines-series, things were dead in the Star Wars-universe. I am not kidding you younglings. Everyone at that point was convinced, we would never see another installment of that franchise. Good ol’ times, kiddos. Turns out, in the year 2022, this is another unintended gigantic middle finger to canon, though. Crossing Lines gave Obi-Wan the depth he did not have in the first six movies by having him doubt some aspects of the Jedi Code when he falls in love. Since his indoctrination by the Order has progressed too deeply though, he can’t progress on this far healthier way of a Grey Jedi quickly enough before Order 66 leaves the order and the galaxy in ruins. So in this last part of the series, his girlfriend in the order ends up in her own exile where she has Obi-Wan’s baby and gives it away for their own safety. No, absolutely fucking no one in this series is having fun at all, not once (well except for in a couple of sex scenes). Infinite sadness is one of the oldest stories on this list, and especially style-wise, it would need a major makeover, but it nailed the characterization of those movie characters who, as far as I am concerned, have officially nothing more than six movies on them, and I still get back reading it occasionally fondly.

A honorary mention goes out to an as of yet unpublished story on my hard drive called Terra Exit: MY WORLDCHANGER (ignore the series name, it’s a stub), which is the beginning of something I will probably write when I’m retired one day, because I won’t have time before. It’s my attempt of turning the old She-Ra: Princess of Power series into a written project for grown-ups. While the first few series parts will follow and loosely incorporate the She-Ra series episodes, before the fanfiction series moves on to full-fledged war between She-Ra and Hordak on Etheria and then ends in an apocalyptic showdown, with She-Ra and He-Man against Horde Prime and Skeletor on Eternia ... Well, you can already tell by that description, this is no longer a children’s cartoon. This is turning the already very mature and political themes that the old series touched, like sacrifice, social injustice and tyranny, into basically a graphic horror novel. This will have death and gore, sex scenes and references to child abuse, violence and loss. My Worldchanger is marking the beginning of that, putting the events of the The Secret of the Sword cartoon movie into writing, including Adora finding out about having been stolen from her parents as a child and being transformed not least by mind control spells into a warlord for the enemy, about having a twin brother and a superpowered secret identity, it’s about her meeting her parents on her home world and making the ultimate sacrifice of not living with them but fighting against her old abductors and abusers on Etheria until the planet is free. This was originally meant also as a gigantic fuck you about everything the new She-Ra series (great as its LGBT+ representation is) fucked up about the original, but like 20 pages in I realized ... Fuck. This has fucking potential. It will probably be like 5 million words long by the time it’s finished, and no one will ever read it but you know what? I can live with that. I’ll probably take it with me to the grave and still be proud of it.

I have some X-men fanfics from forever ago and like I just realized I don’t know X-Men lore because they change that shit every Friday that things become outdated like one of my fanfics relied heavily on the Azazel being’s Kurt’s father thing but even that was changed recently so now I don’t even wanna update it because it’s outdated now and it’s not like a simple thing where like in my MHA fanfics I had to change Bakugou’s name from Ground Zero to Dynamight. But I guess with X-Men it doesn’t really matter if you do a “random bullshit go” especially with me who has insole interest towards it but I don’t want to read the comics cuz like I said they change that shit every month, I don’t like the cartoons because they’re boring even though I haven’t watched Evolution (I didn’t like that show as a kid even when it was on air for some reason always turned it when it came on) and the last movie I watched was Apocalypse back in 2017 when it first came out.

I don’t know. X-Men is frustrating for me. I want to get into it but I can’t put in the effort to get all the way into it. Someone’s always dying then being brought back, someone has a kid but that kid only exist in a alternate timeline and the X-men travel to that timeline and get that timeline erased, wolverine has a new kid every day, this persons parents aren’t who we thought they were, oh we’re retconning this characters story for the 900th time. Shit can’t ever be simple with X Men.

Looking back, did you write more, less, or about how much you thought you would?

Way more. In the beginning of the year, it was like...April and I hadn’t even written 2k words yet. The fact that I wrote more this year than 4x what I wrote in 2021 is shocking and fills me with great joy and motivation to keep going.

Favorite story (of your own) this year?

Operation Leviathan. It was a plot bunny that struck me when I was watching Underwater in 2020, but I just didn’t have the oomph to do anything about it. But somehow, the flood gates opened about three days into NaNo and I wrote about 95% of it in a month. I have a couple thousand words left to wrap it up and some editing! I’m so excited to share it with the community.

Any writing risks this year?

I didn’t really write anything that risky. I tried a different tense, which wasn’t really my cup of tea. Well, that’s not true. I really enjoyed writing in present tense, but when I got into a flow state, it would automatically revert back to past tense. Which made editing a nightmare.

I should really keep trying though. I love present tense, especially for thrillers.

Any fanfic or original fic goals for the new year?

My goal almost every single year is to do make some sort of headway with Unharrowed. It’s a prequel to Inquisition that has been cooking since the first time I played it. But I can’t seem to ever make any progress. I’ve recently started revamping the lead character completely to give her a stronger (both in terms of literature and literally) personality. I’m hopeful that this will solve a lot of the issues I’ve been having with the story.

Most popular story of the year?

Masquerade & Mysteries, by almost 2x as many as my other stories. It’s my greedfall prequel, that tackles the class divide between Kurt and Lucette. It’ll be 7 chapters all said and done. Five and half of them are already completed...I’m just slow (and not very confident) at writing the smut.

Most under-appreciated story (of your own) by the fandom?

In the Flicker -- I understand why it didn’t gain much traction. AO3 is often very ship-centric and I wasn’t sure how to tag this. It was by-and-large a character study as I played with writing in first person. The story starts with a Ryder/Gil pairing, but the end game ends up being Ryder/Reyes. (Don’t worry, it’s not at all anti-Gil, it’s just how the story unfolded). However, I’ve only posted the first chapter, so I didn’t want to tag it as /Gil but I also didn’t want to tag it as /Reyes since neither is technically true.

Hopefully once the story is completed and posted, I’ll be able to tag it more appropriately and it will find it’s audience.

Most fun story to write?

Operation Leviathan! It had been so long since I felt a flow-state while drafting. It was freeing to just word vomit on a page and feel decent enough about what I’d written to keep it to edit down the road instead of trashing it immediately.

Most unintentionally telling story?

Probably Unharrowed. One aspect of the story is coming to terms with a body (or in this case, a magic) that doesn’t cooperate with you and how distressing that can be. I didn’t intentionally mean to parallel my experience, but it just kinda...happened. At least in my notes it did lol I still haven’t drafted it.

Biggest disappointment?

The Hot Zone. So far it’s been well received, which is awesome. But I was 14k words into the story and suddenly it was like hitting a cement wall. I just...couldn’t write it anymore. No matter how hard I tried. I’m giving myself a break and will come back to it as soon as I can because I am so excited for this story.

Biggest surprise?

My word count. Writing in 2020 and 2021 was like pulling teeth. It was torture just squeezing out a couple thousand words over the course of the entire year. But this year, the flood gates just opened. It was like a huge weight had lifted off of me and I realized how much pressure I’d been putting on myself to engage in a hobby that’s supposed to be fun. I’m glad I’ve finally found my way back to enjoying the process.

Favorite part of fandom this year?

The entire Dragon Age fandom coming back to life after Absolution was released. My dash had been a trickle of DA content until December, and then suddenly it was all DA all the time. It was great to find new artists to follow and share as well!

A "Safe" Choice

So...this is just a self-indulgent little one-shot inspired by something that happens weekly where I work. Basically, every Wednesday, an armored service technician from the cash handling company comes to check the safe, and there's a couple guys that everyone at my workplace agrees are attractive, so I took that and made a one-shot out of it, featuring Blaine as the cute armored service technician and barista!Kurt (Tina and Santana are baristas too just for fun). So yeah, here's that, hope it's not literally the worst thing you've ever read or whatever:

Wednesdays are Kurt's favorite day of the week to work. Every Wednesday, the safe technicians come to the coffee shop to do routine safe checks, but that fact isn't that important. However, the fact that is important is that every Wednesday when the safe technicians come in, the very cute, curly-haired technician is almost always the one who comes to check their safe, and has been for months. And, okay, maybe Kurt has a bit of a crush on the cute, curly-haired technician, and maybe he always makes sure he works on Wednesdays so he can see him.

Wednesdays have always been safe check days, but Wednesdays didn't become Kurt's favorite day of the work week until around a month after the first appearance of 'Hot Safe Guy,' as the curly-haired technician had so lovingly become known amongst the coffee shop employees. Speaking of the first appearance of 'Hot Safe Guy,' when Kurt and his coworkers had seen him for the first time, they'd all agreed that yes, the curly-haired technician was very attractive with his dark curls and cute smile and very nicely toned arms and there was just something about the armored vest; and yes, they'd all secretly hoped that he'd be back the following Wednesday. And when he unfortunately wasn't, it may have brought their spirits down a tiny bit. But when the technician returned the following week, their work day suddenly got a little better. And then it was the same cute, curly-haired technician the following couple weeks, and suddenly, he had been nicknamed Hot Safe Guy amongst the coffee shop crew, and suddenly, Wednesdays had been dubbed Hot Safe Guy days, and a few of the crew members, Kurt included, were doing their best to make sure they always worked on Hot Safe Guy days.

When Hot Safe Guy started appearing more frequently, Kurt and his coworkers may have started spending just a little too much of their time trying to figure out if any of them had a chance with Hot Safe Guy. They may have started attempting to catch the attention of Hot Safe Guy. For instance, as on one Wednesday when Tina decided to wear a mini skirt that could have been dubbed questionable work attire.

"Isn't that skirt a little short for work, T?" Kurt had asked her.

"It's Wednesday," Tina started in response, "It's Hot Safe Guy day, let me have this."

"Okay…" Kurt added with some disbelief in his voice.

"What?" Tina continued, "You don't think I have a chance, do you?"

"Let's just say I think you're trying to attract a guy who is unavailable to you…"

"...You think he's taken?"

"Not that kind of unavailable…"

"You think he's gay?! Wait, why?"

"Uh, have you seen his ass? No straight guy has an ass that nice."

"It does look like it was baked to perfection by some master baker… But that doesn't mean he's gay!"

"We'll see..."

"You ladies wanna stop swooning over the safe guy for a couple minutes and actually help me open this place?" Santana quipped at them.

Kurt would test his guess the following week when he showed up to work in some very tight jeans that also could have been dubbed questionable work attire.

"Aren't those pants a little tight for work, Kurt?" Tina had teased him.

"It's Wednesday," he remarked back at her.

"You still have no proof of him being gay," Tina added.

"I might later. Still upset that he didn't pay attention to you last week, huh?"

"...No."

"Sure, T. Suuure…"

So over the next few weeks, namely Kurt and Tina's, but also a couple other coworkers', attempts to catch Hot Safe Guy's attention continued, and "it's Wednesday" became a very commonly used excuse for their choices in work attire. And though Santana didn't participate in what she had dubbed the "slutty work wear competition," she did keep track of if and when Hot Safe Guy seemed to pay some attention to any of them, and it was eventually discovered that he noticed Kurt much more often than anyone else. That discovery then discouraged most of the girls who had attempted to get Hot Safe Guy's attention, except for Tina, who was still not convinced that Hot Safe Guy might not be attracted to women. That then led to Kurt and Tina both starting to outright flirt with Hot Safe Guy when he came in on Wednesdays, and Santana continuing to keep track of this to see what happened.

After a few weeks of the flirting phase, Kurt and Santana were both pretty sure that the guy had no interest in Tina. Tina, however, was still not convinced.

"Seriously, Tina, give it up, he's not into you," Santana attempted to convince her.

"We don't know that for sure," Tina asserted, "Hot Safe Guy could still be interested in me."

"He's not," Kurt added, "And he does have a name, you know."

The Name of the Game

The only reason Blaine's at this stupid glee club party at Rachel Berry's house is because Puck told him there would be alcohol. Which thankfully there is because Blaine's not so sure he can sit through this all sober. He'd rather not be spending his night listening to Rachel Berry hog a karaoke machine and ruin some perfectly good songs for him and have to watch all the glee couples make out and dry hump seven thousand times during the night. But here he was with nothing else better to do. At least there was alcohol. And Kurt.

The only reason he even joined this stupid glee club in the first place is because the school had forced him into joining a club so he wouldn't get kicked out of yet another school and glee club had seemed slightly less terrible than others. That , and glee club had Kurt Hummel. Fashionable, snarky, sometimes aloof Kurt Hummel. The boy who held his head high through any obstacle and who couldn't help but pull focus when he walked into a room. Kurt Hummel, who was destined for things much bigger and much more fabulous than Middle-of-Shitsville Lima, Ohio. The boy who caught Blaine's eye the moment he saw him the first day he was at this damn school and who hadn't left his mind since.

Honestly, at first he just thought Kurt was hot. A bit of a bitch, but hot. And Blaine had wanted in his incredibly tight pants. So he'd pursued him. He'd flirted with him constantly. Occasionally it was a little too risque for school property. Eventually Kurt started flirting back. Then Blaine ended up getting stuck in glee club. More flirting. But also just talking sometimes. Eventually he and Kurt had formed a rather unlikely friendship. A rather unlikely friendship that eventually developed into one with benefits. And that was how they'd existed with each other for the past couple months. They'd talk, they'd flirt, they'd hang out sometimes, they'd fuck. They didn't date or do any couple-y shit cuz they weren't a couple, just friends with benefits. That was all they were and all Blaine needed them to be.

Except that it really wasn't. Kurt was different from any other guys he'd been with. Kurt actually seemed to care about him. Actually wanted to talk with him after most nights. Seemed to want him for at least a little more than just a quick fuck. Seemed to not mind being his friend too much at least. Sometimes seemed like he wanted them to be more than what they were. But maybe that was just Blaine making shit up.

Blaine knows that Kurt wants romance. And that Kurt deserves some epic romantic love story. And he can't give him that-- he doesn't do romance. He doesn't do the whole falling in love thing. He's a bad boy who fucks around, no feelings involved, and doesn't let his heart want more. Except when he's with Kurt.

Fuck, he shouldn't be getting almost sentimental like this at a party full of the sappiest people on the planet. What he should be doing is getting so wasted that he doesn't remember any of this emotional bullshit he's thinking in the morning. So that's what he sets out to do until his plan is quickly dashed by Kurt Hummel himself.

"Hey, sunshine," Kurt teases, plopping down on the couch next to him.

"Hey" is all Blaine utters in response, short and admittedly ruder than it should have sounded.

"Having fun brooding over here all by yourself?"

"Yup."

"Something got you down?"

"Are you seeing all of them?" Blaine starts, referring to the glee club couples. "It's sickening."

"While I'll admit that this is a little...intense, I still don't get what it is you have against love."

"I've told you, it's not for me. I'm a badass, I don't do romance."

"I think you could if you wanted to…"

"Nope. Not my thing."

"Boo. But suit yourself I guess."

"I will."

"Well, someone's exceptionally moody tonight. Seriously, what's going on with you?"

"None of your business."

"Actually, I think that as your b-- um, as your friend, it is my business. So what's up?"

"Look, I'm just not in the mood to be here right now, okay?"

"Oh. Okay… sorry. Anything I can do to make your night here a little better?"

"Nope."

"I can't convince you to come sing or anything?"

"Not tonight."

Dear Diary.

summary: a diary entry inspired by “i met sarah in the bathroom” by awfultune. violet is more confident than usual so she’s kinda ooc. ( very ooc ) questioning her sexuality. [name of story used to be ‘her name was violet’]

tags: language i guess, referenced sex, violet, tate, reference to westfield high and its massacre, mention of a character in an upcoming fic i will post either in (james)march or after it.

notes: i just love her so much. “suck on that, langdon!” originally had it as [y/n in a harry styles fanfic] but then i realised mr styles wasn’t around then in 2011.

11-11-11 (cool date)

dear diary,

it’s me, layla, and i can’t believe i’m writing in a diary. but it’s the only way i can express my feelings without mom or dad finding out and i’m putting a lock on this and only having one key so they can’t read it.

i have to write down something that happened!

so i met this girl at school, right? super cute, bright eyes under the dark clouds of depression in school, standing out from the crowd. god i sound like every y/n in a kurt cobain fanfic.

anyway.

you know those cardigans? yeah, she had an orange one and a purple dress, and she didn’t care what other people thought of her or wanted her to look like.

her name was violet.

i felt so shy around her, but she was always super confident. well, to me anyways. she liked to smoke and even offered me one, but i had to decline as mom would have probably murdered me! the same way her parents would yell at violet if she drank alcohol without their permission, though she’s seventeen!

we hung out at lunch a lot, talking about her neighbour friend that was always in her house lurking around. his name was tate, i only met him once and he seemed nice. but every time she talked about him, she would get this look in her eyes, and i didn’t like it. she likes him, a lot. but i like her. i can’t believe i’m saying this but i like violet harmon, and as a girl that’s probably not okay ( according to dad it’s not ).

she didn’t like to follow rules, and she made that pretty clear when she brought cocaine to school to deal with the popular girls, thankfully she didn’t get caught! she was telling me this when we were sharing a bag of chips, and then she said:

“hey, layla.”

“yeah, vi? what’s up?”

“i’m glad we’re friends, i really like hanging out with you!”

and i got super shy, even more than usual, and i said, “aww, i like hanging out with you too!”

and she whispered to me something like “i think i really wanna kiss you.”

holy moly, i didn’t even know what to say at that point. i just looked at her, open mouthed in shock as she explained further. “i didn’t wanna scare you, so i kept my feelings from you for a while.”

“but… what about tate?”

and she said something about her only being around him a lot to try to make me jealous, which it did. it made me very jealous. but that never explained why they had sex with each other, as tate had told me the first time we ever spoke.

“so you do actually like me? or is this some sort of joke?”

“i like you, layla. a lot.”

violet had a huge grin on her face. and then she took me to the bathroom, and to the blind eye people would just think it’s two pals going to the bathroom together as that’s what girls do.

we went into and there was nobody else in there, so we took the stall furthest from the door. violet locked the door and turned to face me, and then she kissed me, pulling back quickly with a smile on her face.

“was that okay?”

“more than okay.”

i felt like i was on top of the fucking world. still am! we were smiling at each other, and both leaned back in together at the same time. her arm was wrapped around my waist and she pushed me against the wall, deepening the kiss.

“this okay, baby?” she asked, pulling away for a second. okay, consent queen!!

i remember nodding like a bobble-head toy, not really knowing what to do with my hands either. she grabbed my hands and placed one on her hip and the other on the back of her neck. i kissed her again, the sweet taste of candy on her lips almost sending me over the edge.

and when the bathroom door opened, we didn’t jump, or get scared. instead we pretended to be talking about the writing on the walls, one jumping out clear as day. ‘EP + TL 4EVA’

“tl? the only person i know with those initials is…”

“tate langdon?” i said, running my finger over the other name. “wasn’t there a story in the news a while back about tate and some girl? and something about this school? my mom was telling me about it and that’s why she didn’t want me hanging out with him.”

“what are you talking about, layla? all he told me was that he was thrown out of here a few months ago.”

“it doesn’t matter right now, hun.” i couldn’t bring myself to tell her that he was the one who did it. i couldn’t break her like that.

and so we just sat on the bathroom floor for a while holding hands, talking about the most random of things. i even became violet’s therapist for a few minutes, talking about why she doesn’t like her dad, and hayden, and the guy ben is always talking to at the front door. i already knew that man was larry harvey, my old neighbour. but was i gonna tell her that? hell no! she can find that messed up horror story out herself.

and find out that everybody in this town is a murderer, well…most of us. i for one didnt murder anyone, i’m talking about that murder hotel down the road, to the west of violet’s house.

“wanna come over to mine later?” she asked me after our little talk.

“are you sure? i mean this is all kinda crazy and going really fast…”

“please? we can watch a movie on youtube!” and she smiled at me, and the look she gave me told me everything. there wouldn’t be much movie watching happening. “i kind of need the distraction.”

i nodded.

“alright, movie at seven?”

“sure, vi.”

i remember the harmons hesitating to let me into their home, ‘cause i’m a lesbian or whatever. but they had no reason to believe violet was the same as she hadn’t told them and was always around tate, a not-girl. they let me in, though. and oh my god me and violet, we cuddled all evening and we watched coraline, my favourite movie.

and we kissed again and again and again! but we only went as far as kissing this time. and then when the movie was over we went up to her room and fell asleep in her bed, obviously with violet not knowing that tate was watching us ‘sleep’. i was awake and could see him but i said nothing, just waved and mouthed a good night to him, smirking at the fact that i just stole his girl.

haha suck on that, langdon!

anyways, gotta go. got school soon and i get to see violet again! i cant wait.

maybe i’ll even sneak in extra cigarettes for her, or a drawing of something cool. i really like her and i don’t wanna fuck this up. this is me wishing my future self some good luck!
