“yeah unheavenly creatures is good and one of my favorite albums ever! vaxis ii: a window of the waking mind is also really cool and up there! you should check them out!”

[throughout the vaxis arc thus far nos and nia’s love for each other [and later, love for their son as well] is so strong it has its own distinct leitmotif [🎵we all go up in flames, going out in style🎵].

the melody both begins and closes unheavenly creatures and opens a window of the waking mind as not only the first thing their son vaxis says but the first line overall. not only that, but it comes back in full power, a cinematic soundtrack in The Embers of Fire. their love has only gotten stronger through hardships, exploding with strings and , and hope and fierceness, opposed to the quiet, tender meekness of the solo piano in unheavenly creatures. add onto that the full symphonic celebration in the closing minute of Window of the Waking Mind, as well as the entire album as vaxis wakes to join his parents, who have fought tooth and nail for their son for years, in hopes that he would one day rise from his comatose state. finally, the three are truly a happy family.

we can also hear that each member of said family brings their own instruments to this melody; in unheavenly creatures, we hear one soft, haunting piano; the two are living separate lives, both plagued with the pain of loss and abandonment. in the beginning of vaxis ii, we hear keys and strings, as the two lovers have been reunited, and are ready to take on the world. however, at the end of vaxis ii, when their little boy rises to meet his parents, there are triumphant horns alongside everything else. three different sounds, three different reunions, each more powerful than the last.

this is a work of genius. love really does conquer all, btw.]

I hope it’s okay to ask you but you seem to know everything about MCR so you might know. But I read recently that they were the designated bbq band on their first Warped in 2004 so they had to cook for everyone. Have you ever heard of that being the case? It just feels like a weird thing, with Ray apparently being a hermit in the bus and Frank being vegetarian and Gerard being blackout the whole time. I can’t imagine Mikey or Matt Pelissier holding down the fort.

haha yeah apparently so! warped tour was designed to be as efficient to run as possible because its primary purpose was to book up-and-coming bands and put them out there. it had a lot of weird components as a result - e.g. the sheer number of bands and locations, cheap tickets and free tickets for parents, and a constantly changing lineup schedule so attendees couldn't plan their day in advance around specific artists (so the artists were on a more ~equal footing and to encourage ppl to show up when the gates opened and stay all day). it was also notoriously gruelling and uncomfortable for the bands - really demanding schedule, no showers, etc etc.

so one of the things it did (along with showcasing local acts at each location) was invite a "bbq band" to join the tour for free and play every day if they helped run the nightly bbq that fed all the musicians. according to this podcast (around 17 mins in, but the whole episode is a short and really interesting listen, i recommend it!), mcr were that band in 2004 (they were only on the first half of the tour tho, june 25-july 18,24). i'm not sure exactly what his source is but he seems to know his stuff, and i'm almost positive i've heard gerard refer to it in an interview at some stage, though i can't remember when 😭. anyway, that doesn't mean they fully ran the bbq and were the only staff - they were just helpers! warped had a catering company and served a truly enormous amount of food every day, and apparently the artist's bbq was something like 300 hot dogs, 300 burgers, and 100 veggie burgers a night (all from that podcast). mcr definitely wouldn't have been doing that on their own, they were probably just helping out hahaha.

anyway, this was all in 2004, when the lineup included thursday, the used, tbs, coheed and cambria, the bouncing souls, etc. so revenge had only been out for like a month and they didn't have their own bus yet - i'm like 80% sure they stayed on senses fail's bus that tour, but i can't remember which one of them said that or where haha (they definitely shared a bus directly afterwards as they toured back towards nj).

after that is when they went to japan, came back, fired otter, and filmed inok, and went back on tour with bob and face to face all in the space of 2 weeks. that tour is when their van finally broke down for good and they got on their first own tour bus at the end of it.

the more ~famous mcr warped tour is 2005, which is the one with fob etc. i haven't seen lotms in a while but i actually assumed the bit where ray said he'd been a total hermit in the back of the bus was from that 05 tour, because that's the one they had the bus studio where he spent a lot of time writing parade demos. either way, he might not have been partying and socialising a whole lot, but i'm sure he would've sown up to bbq duty anyway! it was their free ticket, after all.

TEN SPEED - M.S. (pt 1)

Psycho!Matt x Fem!Reader

Summary - Matt loves Y/N, but he can’t cope with his delusions.

“Shut up!” Matt hissed to the bellowing voice in his head. He was responded with a raspy chuckle that echoed through his mind. He looked out the window of the car and saw that stupid flaming bicycle. He almost wished it was real so he could just crash into it and kill it, along with himself. But no, Ten Speed came everywhere with him, and with that, he always had to drive Matt’s delusion farther.

“I’m just being helpful,” Ten Speed responded. The jaw of the horned skull connected to the stupid handlebars moved every time Ten Speed spoke. Matt could only press harder on the gas pedal at these words, practically fuming. It was only on occasions where the voice got this bad, and he needed an outlet.

“Slow down. You’ll kill yourself,” Ten Speed teased, the low frequency of the voice dancing through his head. He grumbled, his already throbbing headache worsening. He had such violent urges that he couldn’t act on, he didn’t want to give into that voice.

The headache only spread through Matt’s skull, enveloping his eyes, his jaw, even traveling to his throat. He didn’t understand why he was subject to literal torture. Not by a person either, by his own brain. By a fucking bicycle He gripped the steering wheel while his body writhed in pain.

“Come on, Matty Boy. You know you want to,” it teased. “Just plunge the knife into someone’s chest. Hear their sweet cries. You’ll feel so much better.”

Matt groaned and made a sharp left turn into the woods. He needed to park immediately and clear his racing mind. Would it really feel better? If he finally killed someone?

He gripped the small pocket knife in his hand that he promised himself he’d only use for self defense. A look of questioning was plastered on his face, not that anyone nearby could see. It was just him and that dumb bicycle that followed him around.

He could see the orange flames surrounding the bicycle out of the corner of his eyes. But if he stepped out of the car to put out the flame, there would be absolutely nothing there. That’s what irked him.

“Look at that knife in your hand, Matthew. Imagine what that knife could do. Terrible things, I presume?”

Matt didn’t bother responding. He just stared at the knife, then at Ten Speed. The flames illuminated the dark woods.

Before he could even think, he heard the faint rustling of leaves through the cracked window of his car. He gripped the knife in one hand and yanked the car door open with the other. With a slam of the door, he approached the possible imminent threat (or imminent prey.)

Time slowed down in the moment he charged at the man who came out of the trees. He seemed middle aged, probably had a wife and kids. Maybe he enjoyed fishing. Too bad he would never experience that.

Matt plunged the blade in his hand right into the gut of the man in front of him. Repeatedly. Why did this feel so good? The aching in his head quickly disappeared, followed by euphoria.

He knew Ten Speed was behind him, watching everything unfold. The blood spilling from the poor guys stomach, the knife thrusting in and out, Matt’s growing insanity.

As his body finally dropped to the ground, Matt stood there and hovered, a satisfied feeling rushing through his body. He calmly walked back to the car, despite being covered in blood. He pulled the door open and sat down in the drivers seat, just sitting there.

“See? It felt good, Matthew. It wasn’t so hard,” Ten Speed commented. Even though he was right, Matt wasn’t in the mood for Ten Speed’s constant gawking.

He relished in the feeling before an urgency washed over him. This man was probably camping with his family, or on a fishing trip with his friends. Matt knew there would be people looking for the guy, or even worse, the cops.

He swiftly started the car and sped off into the night, and it wasn’t long before Ten Speed was right back next to him.

“Where we headed, Matthew?” he questioned. Matt sighed, contemplating even answering. He missed his best friend. He wanted to see her. Feel her soft touch, run his fingers through her pretty locks.

“We’re seeing Y/N,” Matt replied firmly, a sense of empowerment taking over him. Ten Speed scoffed.

“Covered in blood? She wouldn’t want to see you that way. You’d scare the poor girl,” Ten Speed snickered, trying to get under Matt’s skin. Matt only drove faster on the route to Y/N’s house.

“I have to see her. She has to come with me,” he stated, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. This only earned more laughter from Ten Speed.

“She won’t come with you. Not like that. She’s already scared of you from what you did last time…” he replied lowly, making Matt’s blood boil. The last time Matt had seen Y/N was last month. She wanted nothing to do with him as of now. This was all because Matt started shouting at Ten Speed when he was forcing violent thoughts into Matt’s head, causing him to do things that she could never unsee

“I’m not doing shit for you!” Matt yelled, his voice could probably be heard throughout Y/N’s house. She stood in the corner of the room watching Matt shout at seemingly nothing. But in Matt’s head, Ten Speed only pushed him further.

“Wouldn’t you wanna just kill her? Make it so much easier for you? Take a huge burden off the both of your shoulders?” Ten Speed teased. Matt watched the fiery bicycle slide around the floors of Y/N’s house in pure rage.

“I’d kill myself before I ever kill her, you fucking asshole!” He shouted even louder, glaring daggers into thin air. Y/N’s eye’s only widened.

“Matt, stop!” She protested. He whipped his head around, suddenly taking his anger out on her.

“Make me! I’m doing this for you, you fucking bitch, be grateful! I’m arguing with a goddamn bicycle for you!”

She looked at him in pure confusion, her mind genuinely drawing a blank.

“Get some fucking help!” She spat, feeling absolute fear in this moment, both of and for her best friend. He was seeing red, acting purely on impulse. He grabbed her by the wrist before Ten Speed spoke again.

“Hurt yourself then. Not her.”

And so Matt did, which only got the cops called on him by his best friend.

He looked down at the scar on his wrist from that night, remembering the fight he had with Y/N and the pain he put her and himself through. He knew he was a bad friend, but right now he didn’t care.

Ten Speed’s pedals only moved faster, propelling him in front of Matt’s car.

“Can you fucking move?? I can’t see the goddamn road…” Matt complained, trying to see around the flaming, skulled object in front of his vehicle.

“So you’re going to kidnap her?” he asked, amusement in his low, raspy voice. Matt cringed at the thought, but just nodded, continuing to drive while Ten Speed remained a road block.

It wasn’t long before Matt found himself sneaking into Y/N’s home, thankful that just her car was in the driveway and not her parents’. He found his way into the garage, grabbing duct tape and rope from her father’s supplies before making his way upstairs to her room.

He noticed her peacefully sleeping and couldn’t help but admire the sight; her hair fallen perfectly over her shoulder, the way her reddish lips parted, the rising and falling of her chest. It was hot as hell in her room, so she had no blankets and a full display of her chosen pajamas; panties and a band shirt.

He wondered what it would be like to slip the two articles of clothing off of her, while she was awake and consenting of course, and feel the soft skin of her body. Place open mouthed kisses and hickeys where everyone could see, where he could claim her as his own.

He smirked to himself before covering her mouth and pulling her out of bed and to her feet, waking her up. Her body jolted awake, and she squirmed in his strong grip, making muffled cries of help against his hand.

“Not so fast, sweetheart,” he teased, keeping his grip firmer as he managed to get her downstairs. He still had the duct tape and rope in the other hand, so he pinned her against the front door to keep her in place to tape her mouth shut. She whimpered as her back hit the door, her eyes filling with tears. His heart ached just a bit for her, and he reluctantly removed the hand from her mouth, but not before ripping off a piece of tape from the roll with his teeth, just in case she spoke too much.

“Matt.. why?” she whimpered, another tear falling from her pretty eyes. He gave her a solemn look and pressed a quick kiss to her lips before speaking.

“Because I need your help, Y/N. And I knew you wouldn’t trust me if I simply asked you, not after what happened”

Without another word, he pressed the piece of duct tape to her trembling mouth and turned her around against the door, grabbing both of her wrists and taping them together a couple times before tying them with the rope for good measure.

With that, he brought her out to the car and shoved her in the backseat, returning to his spot at the front.

He drove for hours as she whimpered and cried in the backseat. He couldn’t deny, it was getting annoying. But eventually, her cries turned into small hiccups, and the hiccups faded into snores.

“Night, Y/N,” he whispered into the backseat, following the return of Ten Speed. He sped next to Matt along the dark roads.

“Well are you gonna kill her off?!” he questioned, almost playfully. Matt scoffed.

“It’s not your decision. I love the character, so she stays,” Matt declared, making a point to glare at Ten Speed.

“Yeah, well the only thing loves done is put you in this position, I say kill her off!” Ten Speed persisted, the rasp of his voice really getting on Matt’s nerves tonight.

“So? You say plenty of things. And how’s that work? You’re a bicycle.”

Still Into You, Paramore: Ironically, I've cooled on this one a bit. First heard this when my brother said "Your into MCR and Coheed, right? How are you not into Paramore?" I probably do need to actually do a deep dive into their discography but this one I definitely overplayed for myself.

See America Right, The Mountain Goats: Tallahassee might just be the greatest album of all time.

Day Old Coffee, Laura Jane Grace: speaking of artists I need to do a deep dive on. I really liked Grace's most recent solo album, I gotta get more into her other albums. They're often a bit poppier than her stuff with Against Me!, but turns out she does poprock rather well.

Don't Ask Me, OK Go: Fuck this is fun to sing along to. Best song on an album full of bangers.

The Suffering, Coheed and Cambria: Look sometimes I'm a basic poppunk bitch. God this one grabs me from the first guitar riff.

You're So Damn Hot, OK Go: Huh apparently I've been having an OK Go moment recently.

Past Lives album notes, by Anthony Green - Apple Music

When Thursday drummer Tucker Rule sent Circa Survive and Saosin vocalist Anthony Green some songs to check out during COVID lockdown, the singer wasn’t aware that he was being recruited for an emo supergroup. “When the pandemic hit, every band out there was trying to figure out how to stay alive,” Green tells Apple Music. “I was freaking out, so I was trying to stay busy. Tucker said he had a project with a couple friends and asked me to sing on it. The songs were really good, so I went for it.”

It wasn’t until after Green had recorded vocals for a few songs that Rule revealed the rest of the band’s lineup: My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero, Coheed and Cambria guitarist Travis Stever and Thursday bassist Tim Payne. “I’m glad he didn’t tell me,” Green says. “I would’ve felt so much more pressure.” Below, the singer details each track on L.S. Dunes’ debut.

“It’s definitely one of the most personal songs I’ve ever written. I guess all the songs are personal, but the heaviness of that song is about wondering if I would’ve been better off dead than alive. I know a lot of people go through that—it’s not just me—but it’s a hard song for me to play because it makes me feel all the feelings I had when I wrote it. All that insecurity and all that fucking heaviness comes back. If I could not play it, I would, but the band really loves that song.”

Antibodies

“That was one of the first songs I put vocals to for Dunes. It was at the beginning of quarantine, everyone was isolated and there was a rift between people who were like, ‘I’ll do whatever I can to try to make this thing less brutal on people with compromised immune systems and people that are more susceptible to getting bad COVID’ and people who were like, ‘I don’t give a shit, and I don’t think it’s that bad.’ So, the song comes from feeling isolated and trying to get my head around the idea that some people didn’t give a shit if someone’s grandma or father or mother was gonna die.”

Grey Veins

“I’ve been in a lot of projects with a lot of people, and when I sat down to write this song, I was thinking a lot about whether or not I was doing too much. Sometimes I wonder, ‘Am I going to make people sick of me? Am I doing too many things?’ I kind of answered that question with this song being like, ‘Fuck, no’. I’m just going to fucking play and make as much music as I can here, and I don’t have to explain it to anybody or to live up to anybody else’s standards. I just need to do what makes me happy and to do it as fearlessly as I possibly can.”

Like Forever

“I’ve been going through addiction stuff my entire life. As you get older and the more you work on it, you get a little time clean and then something happens, and you relapse. That’s not part of everybody’s story, but it was part of my journey—and man, it sucks. Having to explain it to somebody, having to deal with the hurt and confusion you cause other people when you relapse…maybe some people don’t want to talk to you after that. They don’t want to be in your life because they don’t want to deal with the stress of loving you. This song deals with that shame and trying to figure out how to get back on a healthy path.”

Blender

“This song is so stoney and heavy. Lyrically, it has to do with my mental health issues and being bipolar. It’s funny because the song is bipolar in and of itself because the verses are very low, and then the choruses are at the very top of my range. It’s not an accident that it goes from one extreme to the other. It very much symbolises the theme of the song, which is me wrestling and coming to grips with the nature of my mood swings, my personality and my fears.”

Past Lives

“This song was inspired by the statues of Confederate soldiers and Christopher Columbus coming down, and the idea of history writing itself rather than going down this lane of total bullshit. Being able to change the narrative in schools so that people are learning the truth about the foundation of this country and the violence at the core of it. “I wrote this song about Frank. He was in an accident and really fucked up his wrist and hand, and he had to get surgery during the recording of the album. We had to take a big break from sharing music because he couldn’t play guitar. I don’t think he knew if he was ever going to be able to play again. So, I was thinking about him and his relationship with his instrument. The song opens up with, ‘Hello? I’m not sure if you remember, we connected a long time ago.’ That’s him talking to his guitar and his muse. I don’t always write a song for someone else from their perspective, but I did that with this.”

Bombsquad

“This is another one that came up around politics during COVID. I was thinking about how people were lying through their teeth about stuff just to save face—just making shit up, essentially. And the ability that some people had to just detach from reality and pretend that their shithead president was actually helping. It has a lot to do with QAnon and some of the people in my life that were falling for that shit.”

Grifter

“This is one of my favourites. I wrote this song about trying to start over. With each of these projects that I’m doing, I’m digging and I’m trying to find something. Music is a religion to me, and I think that ‘Grifter’ is questioning whether I’ve made it into a religion in a way that’s unhealthy. I centre everything around music and rely on it a lot, and it’s turned into something I worship. I’m sort of questioning whether or not that’s a healthy thing.”

Permanent Rebellion

“This is another song that’s 100 per cent about trying to drop the baggage of our old bands and trying to do something a little bit different with different people.”

Sleep Cult

“I did an interview where I talked a little bit about suicide, and then I realised that my kids were going to see that. There’re things that I’m realising my kids are going to see and hear, and I want to jump in front of it and go to them and explain myself and really let them know me, so they don’t ever see or hear anything where they’re like, ‘Oh shit, this is really heavy.’ I just want to make sure I’m creating an environment for them where they know me and they can talk to me about anything they need, so they don’t ever feel like they’re alone in this world.”

James Bond character playlist! This is really just a general playlist of songs I associate with James, maybe I'll make some more specific ones later . . . The playlist is on spotify, but all the songs and artists are listed in the playlist notes below the cut if you'd like to listen to them other places. I've also written explanations for why I chose each song.

Ausländer (Rammstein) - This song is in German but it’s a good introduction to the kind of person James is on the surface and what he does (travel around the world seducing girls).

Sharp Dressed Man (ZZ Top) - Continuing the trend of putting jokey ZZ Top songs on my character playlists . . . This is pretty much in the same vein as the previous one; it’s James as he presents himself to the world, stylish and sexy.

Big Space (Espacio Grande) (Suzanne Vega) - This is where we start to get into the more emotional stuff. I associate the whole Days of Open Hand album with Pussy Galore so I think this is James from her perspective. This is also where I got the name for the playlist, from a stanza I think is one of the best descriptions of James: “Beyond the duty and the discipline/I'm sure there's anger in a cold place/All feelings fall into the big space/Swept up like garbage on the weekend.” It speaks well to the way he’s a bit hard to read but under the surface he has a lot emotions he’s trying not to show or really even feel. He says he does his job out of duty, but there’s often something deeper driving him on his missions.

Northern Attitude (Noah Kahan) - Stick Season is a James/Felix album to me, but this is definitely a James song. It’s about growing up in New England but it could work for Scotland too. And we know James’s childhood has had a big impact on his life, and the things he went through could be part of the reason for his closed off nature and unwillingness to get close to people. I also think it’s interesting the song mentions losing a wife as that’s something James and Felix have in common.

Night Flight (Led Zeppelin) - Not all of this song is relevant (it’s about the Vietnam War) but I think some of the sentiments about being drafted as a soldier can apply to James, especially the line “Someone pushed a gun into my hand/Tell me I'm the type of man/To fight the fight without inquiring.” James seems to enjoy his work, but I wonder how much of his violent nature was really there from the start and how much has been encouraged by MI-6 culture and how much he questions that. He’s always in a sort of balancing act with authority there. I also enjoy the first line about “my brother across the water” because clearly that’s Felix.

No One Loves Me and Neither Do I (Them Crooked Vultures)- I’m kind of obsessed with this song but I also think it gets at a central part of James’s character which is how unloved he is despite his many sexual conquests and how he uses sex as an escape from his relatively lonely life.

FANCY (TWICE) - If you read my Bond kpop headcanons you’ll know I think Lazenby’s Bond is a TWICE stan and this is my favorite TWICE song. I associate it so heavily with him and Tracy I had to include it. I think the way its innocence stands out in this playlist is also representative of their relationship. It’s one of the few times James has had a real pure love with someone.

Cherry Waves (Deftones) - This song is perfect for James and Vesper’s relationship, especially with all the references to death by drowning and themes of trust. The narrator, which would be James in this case, would swim down to save their lover from drowning but they’re not sure if the other person would do the same.

Jaws of Life (Wintersleep) - This is a very Skyfall song with the idea of wanting to find comfort in childhood things when the world is falling apart, and thus I associate it with Judi Dench’s M, but I think it’s relevant to any of the few people James can relax and find comfort with.

A Favor House Atlantic (Coheed and Cambria) - Honestly this song is mostly here on vibes, but it could make a good James/Alec song especially with the second verse: “Run quick, they're behind us, didn't think we'd ever make it/This close to safety, in one piece/Now you wanna kill me in the act of what could maybe/Save us from sleep and what we are” and generally being about people who are in between being friends and enemies.

Lonely in Your Nightmare (Duran Duran) - Probably the most James Bond coded song I’ve ever heard. I particularly associate it with License to Kill and Felix but it’s pretty much always applicable. Like all the lyrics. Just read all of them. I know Duran Duran did an actual Bond song but this one fits better imo.

However Much I Booze (The Who) - Of course a reference to James’s escapist alcoholism and how poor a coping mechanism it is. I also adore the line “I’m just a well fucked sailor” especially because of James having been in the navy.

Miracle (Bad Omens) - This song is mostly in here for the line “But nevertheless, I’m fucking depressed, I hide it with sex and drink til it’s fatal” but the idea of looking for something beautiful you’re really willing to die for when you’ve led such a violent life is also interesting. No Time to Die vibes.

One Little Victory (Rush) - I basically had to include a Rush song as they’re one of my special interests so here’s the one I picked. I think this song explains what it probably takes for James to continue in his job for so long and so well, and in the context of the band it was about overcoming grief to do what you love again which has been relevant to James after losing various people like Tracy, Della, or Vesper. Although we don’t always get to see his grief in full, he always picks himself back up again.

Growing Sideways (Noah Kahan) - Another song from Stick Season. This is a song that’s very relatable to me personally and it describes a lot of the reasons I relate to James: burying your feelings to survive.

Nerves Normal. Breath Normal (Wintersleep) - No one makes me feel things like Wintersleep and that’s why they have two songs on the playlist. Also this song is just such an ominous vibe. They have so many songs about having a weird relationship to your body and this is one of them. I can’t explain why it’s about James. It just is. I really can’t express how Wintersleep makes me feel half the time I’m sorry.

Boyfriend lore that absolutely no one asked for nor cares about.

We went to high school together, and I had a crush on him. I invited him to my birthday party, I was going to ask him out but he never showed up because he got the day wrong.

So instead I talked my best friend into inviting him to a big sleep over right around the time summer break started, and we slept together on a blowup mattress. I made up some weird lie like “Oh… I cuddle people in my sleep!” & I got one of my friends to back me up and agree. So I awkwardly tried to pass off putting my arm over him while I slept. I wasn’t smooth. Man has no finesse.

Day after the sleepover I asked if he wanted to go to the aquarium with me, he said yes & my moms brought us. We had a very good time, I associate aquariums with him and have for years. He slept over at my house that night, we went walk after to a park and got super overheated so my stepmom had to come get us. Then… we fell off for a few months? A year?

I contacted him again after Twitter like… synced my contacts and I found his account, his Tumblr was linked and he was already my fucking mutual. We never told each other our Tumblrs when we hung out or when I went to school with him. I was deep in the kin Tumblr cesspool and never told him about it, so this was honest to god just a random occurrence that the kinnie on Tumblr dot com I was mutuals with was my high school crush. We even shared a kin source. 16-17 year old me was losing it.

The second I realized it was him I spam texted him. I went to his house that same night, like thirty minutes after texting again. The first visit was so awkward, but I loved it. I made him listen to Coheed and Cambria on my shitty iPod touch, out loud in his bedroom. We started hanging out excessively. We started talking a lot. I am glued to his hip and even surgery couldn’t remove me from his side.

There’s a few things I’m leaving out because it’s messy relationship drama because we were stupid kids and obviously there’s a break in between since I’m planning on getting a divorce from someone who’s not him but I will never be able to process how those events lined up that way. Like. What the fuck.

1. A Disappearing Act - Coheed and Cambria I was introduced to Coheed and Cambria by a friend, and fell in love from the first listen. This was the first song of theirs I heard and it's still on frequent rotation.

stone sour - there's absolutely screaming in these guys' music sometimes but from what i remember off the top of my head they also have a good number of songs where there's none/it's very minimal. might be kinda russian roulette if you're looking to avoid screaming entirely but if you don't mind some here and there they might be fun for you!

in this moment but specifically their albums a star-crossed wasteland, the dream, beautiful tragedy, and ritual - this might be a little harsher than what you're wanting, but. <3 screaming is actually a little hard to quantify with in this moment's music - because of how maria brink's voice just. is. like she just sounds like that (and it's so fucking cool). i'd say out of all their albums these four are definitely the... well "soft" would be the wrong word to use but you won't find as much consistent screaming. for the most part.
