“You’re staring again.”
“AHHH!” Whipping around, Niki gaped at Wilbur, his amused grin meeting her wide-eyed shock as she placed a hand to her heart, exhaling deep breaths to collect herself.
He was phased through the ground, his neck barely peaking out of the soil until he fully emerged, his body transparent as the sun gleamed through him.
She lifted her head, craning to see whether you noticed the both of them or not from behind the river bend, and smacked Wilbur as hard as she could once realizing they were in the clear.
“What was that for,” Wilbur whined, pouting and simultaneously rubbing his now sore arm. Despite fuming, Niki’s deep glare barely fazed him as he began cackling at how upset she looked.
“Wilbur,” Niki spat out. He paid no attention to her tone and held his stomach in laughter, floating slightly above her. “Oh lighten up, will you?”
He propped his face on his hands, smirking while looking down at her with a teasing voice. “It’s cute.”
She huffed in response, turning away from him with her arms crossed. “Shut up.”
“Awwww Niki,” he cooed. She refused to meet his eyes and stared down, swishing her tail in the water as it reflected on the afternoon sun.
“What do you want?” Wilbur groaned at her lack of play but leaned on his back, tilting his head backwards to see her as he hovered. “You really are no fun.”
As she turned to glare at him again, he giggled but continued to speak. “When are you finally going to talk to them?”
Sputtering at his question, Niki became flustered and tried to argue back, but she struggled with her words. “I do talk to them!”
He gave her a deadpan expression, a look of judgement from her defense as she furrowed her eyebrows in response. “I do!”
Sighing dramatically, Wilbur paid no attention to her pathetic excuse with a smile. His lack of retention angered Niki more. “Wilbur!”
“You are so whipped Niki, it’s adorable.”
Niki pushed herself up and strived to hit him again, though Wilbur was fast enough and raised just out of her reach. Sitting on the bank with her tail still dipped in the water, she grumbled at his antics once more. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Hmmm, is that so?”
Niki paused, unsure if it was that obvious for him to point it out in such a manner. She became insecure to the thought, afraid that her small advancements were really that noticeable despite getting her nowhere. Her sudden silence made Wilbur’s smile fade, and he quickly picked up on her self-doubt.
“Don’t do that.” His tone was harshly blunt and broke Niki’s train of thought.
“Do what,” she asked meekly. Glancing up at him through her hair, she looked back down into her lap before turning her head in the direction you were last.
“Be afraid of the truth,” Wilbur stated. Floating down, he met her eye level and peered up at her. His expression, while serious, held a kind smile to encourage her of the fact while his eyes were soft. “You like them, Niki, and you shouldn’t be afraid of saying it.”
She sighed and tried to turn away, but he wasn’t having it and pulled her chin back gently. “Niki.”
“I know, I know.” Niki shook his hand off, shaking her head slightly and pushing his hand away while moving to hold her own arms, the makeshift hug a form of comfort to the idea. “I just- I’ve never had feelings like this like I do for them. It’s all so new.”
“And I understand that, but you shouldn’t be afraid to face something new. This of all things especially. You like them right?”
Although she was hesitant to admit so, she knew that it was true. It was beyond the truth for you made her smile and laugh like no one ever had, your small conversations and light banter always brightening her day and filling her heart with joy. She wasn’t scared to say she liked you, she was scared of saying it out loud and letting reality take its course.
“I do,” she murmured, a small nod following after. “I like them, yes.”
“They make you happy?” Another pause, but she responded more confidently in the smaller time frame than before.
“They do.”
“Then you should find ways to make them happy too!” Wilbur exclaimed. He rose his arms widely and grew excited from her admittance. Floating towards the grass again, he plucked a small flower from the ground and twirled it between his fingers, handing it to Niki after. “Show them how they make you feel because they matter to you and you care.”
“Well how am I supposed to do that?”
“Do what?”
For the second time that day, Niki whirled around and was surprised to see you innocently swimming above the water surface. She was panicked, eyes wide, and turned to look at Wilbur, who coincidently was gone. The bitch.
She faced you again, smile anxiously forced wide as she greeted you.
“Y/n!” You smiled kindly to her, unobservant to her nervousness.
“Hello, Niki!” You swam closer to her and rested an arm against the shore line, your other hand placed on her tail. Her breathing hitched at the small contact, and she relaxed once you began rubbing her scales lightly.
“I saw you talking to Wilbur, how is he?” Glancing back to where he previous floated, Niki scowled in annoyance at the reminder of his sudden departure.
“Fine, I’m sure. Still annoying when he wants to be.” She mumbled the last words, a frown briefly hung on her lips. You giggled helplessly to her small pout with a hand covering your mouth. While obscured by your hand, Niki practically melted from the sound.
“How are you?” you asked after finishing your small fit. Niki blushed uncontrollably from how intense your eyes looked, the light of the sun catching on the hues of your iris; the sight alone was beautiful to her.
“I- I’m alright, I’m great.” Always around you.
“That’s good, I haven’t seen you in a couple of days.” Concerned over the matter of fact, you leaned closer to Niki and absentmindedly stroked her tail again with your thumb, the movement endearing yet almost unconscious. “I was concerned something happened.”
Coughing slightly to gather herself, Niki cleared her throat from her flush while waving a hand upward.
“O-oh, no everything’s okay. I was helping Wilbur with his house yesterday, he was trying to finish the living space but Tommy and Tubbo kept messing things up. Now that I think of it, I was more of a mediator than actual help.”
Chuckling loudly to her engrossed ranting, you interrupted Niki’s explanation and had to hunch over in pain, arms wrapped around your waist while you tail flicked hastily below.
You laughter was contagious, and soon Niki joined in with her own, the sound fading into faint snickering that melded together in an alluring symphony.
Eventually as you both stopped, however, your smile dimmed. Niki’s fell as well once noticing your sudden drop in mood, and she tapped your shoulders from the unexpected shift.
“Y/n?” Niki slid into the water, the cold temperature difference from staying above making her shiver, yet she paid no mind to it, her attention solely on you. “What’s wrong?”
Realizing you let your thoughts show, you tried to pretend nothing happened, smiling dismissively to your previous frown and placing a hand on Niki’s that she held on your shoulder. Your attempts, unfortunately, were futile since your reassurance barely covered for the lack of joy in your eyes. That, and the fact that Niki could read more than you thought.
“It’s nothing really, I’m-” a humorless laughed escaped you as you aimed to convey your feelings. “I’m honestly so jealous of you.”
Niki’s mouth feel agape in disbelief and confusion. “Me?”
Tilting your head back with genuine laughter, you nodded. “Yes, you.”
“I’ve never been able to see the things landers make or do, it’s so intriguing to hear about. I just can’t help but want to see those things beyond this tiny pond.” While you had turned to face Niki, your eyes were trained downward, with a disheartened smile.
Niki immediately tried to cheer you up, hating the idea of anything trivial upsetting you overall. “I could introduce you to my friends if you like? They’re very nice people, no matter how chaotic I make them sound.” It was her turn to be affectionate as she brushed her hand over yours while your tails nearly wrapped around each other.
You gave another sad smile at her attempt, but appreciated her efforts nonetheless. “That’s really sweet, Niki, but I wouldn’t want to meet and burden them simply because of my own ambitions.”
Clinging onto the tips of her fingers, you squeezed them in reassurance. “Thank you, though. Ever the thoughtful you are, huh?”
Despite still hung over your downplayed emotions, Niki reddened from your words. As you looked above Niki at a flock of birds that flew overhead, she was suddenly faced with an idea.
Formulating a plan and envisioning the hopeful outcome, Niki squealed unexpectedly, surprising you. She had no time to apologize, however, for her thoughts were running wild in anticipation. “I’m so sorry, but I actually need to go,” she voiced.
You tried to answer, but through Niki’s blind eagerness, she didn’t hear you. She promptly pushed the fresh flower in your hand in replacement of her own, and wished you a farewell before diving into the water.
With a scratch to your head, you lightly chuckled at how cute she was and lifted the flower up. Staring at the little tulip, you beamed and brought it towards your nose, smelling the aroma and kissing the petals softly.
Tumblr media
Waiting impatiently, Niki fiddled with the wet rope of the drawstring pouch. The moon was at high rise, the overcasting ray highlighting the empty landscape as all were asleep or safely tucked home.
The air buzzed from the still night, yet Niki couldn’t help but feel unease despite the calm space. Before she could drive herself mad, you finally emerged from the dark water.
“Good evening to you, Niki,” you joked. Swimming swiftly over to her, you glanced around the both of you and also noted the quiet. “It’s a gorgeous time to be awake.”
Although your words could have been interpreted as sarcastic, you meant anything but with a dazed tone and delighted appearance. Meeting her smile with your own, you spun in the water, taking in the cool breeze while lost in the starry night.
“Not that I don’t love our hang outs, but why so late Niki? If you wanted to go star gazing, you could have said.”
She laughed nervously, tugging on the small pouch in habit before holding it out to you. “No, actually, I- I wanted to give you this.”
Intrigued, you lifted the bag from her hands and held it against you as you opened it, letting out a gasp from the treasures all tucked together. Niki thought it best to explain herself.
“I know you said you didn’t want to burden the idea, but I couldn’t help it and wanted for you to experience those things too, even if it’s only little things.” Gesturing to the bag you held, she pointed to the contents inside despite you lost to the beauty each item held.
“I asked my friends to help gather things I thought you would enjoy. They’re not the most extravagant, but they all have their special charms.”
“Niki…” Your voice was airy, barely above a whisper as you tried to comprehend her thoughtfulness. Too anxious for her own good, Niki continued to ramble.
“My friend Tommy, you know Tommy, he managed to trade for this dagger! The hilt has this small ruby in it if you look closely, but I like to think the whole craftsmanship of it is gorgeous. Oh and he also dumped in these things they use to eat! See this one here,” she dug in the open pouch for the metal utensils, lifting them individually to name them from what she was taught.
“This one is called a ‘spoon,’ while this one is called a ‘fork.’ It’s pointy but isn’t sharp!”
“Niki-” She paid no mind to you and replaced the bag in your hands with the metal objects, her excitement overtaking her apprehension and wanting to explain them all.
“Now Phil, he gifted this lovely pocket watch. It tells the time without needing the sun! If you listen closely, you can hear this ticking noise from the gears that make it work, see?” She pushed the glowing locket near your ear, the soft mechanics working perfectly in motion.
“He also enchanted it so the water won’t hurt it, water usually isn’t the best for their types of machines.” Niki handed you the watch carefully as she continued to talk. “He’s an Elytrian too! Very kind and wise, incredibly considerate.”
“That’s amazing, Niki, bu-”
“Ah, look at this!” Struggling to pull the wooden figurine out through the pouch opening, she yanked it out with a grunt, a smile quickly forming at its shape.
“It’s a duck! Tubbo is so cute and carved him himself, but wanted you to have him!” Holding him out, you grasped the smooth carving firmly with a grin, the animal admittedly adorable despite it’s oddly shaped body. “His name is Benson,” Niki exclaimed proudly.
You giggled fondly, patting the inanimate duck with your hands in spite how full they were. “Hello, Benson.”
“Oh and Ranboo!” Niki cried out. As she searched for his gift, you decided it best to interrupt. Or at least try to.
“Niki, before that, I-” She began to mutter under her breath, frustrated with pulling his object out and distracted to your attempts.
“Niki.”
“How did he even put this in here? It’s so bi-”
“Niki, love.”
Freezing from the endearment, she glanced at you with a sheepish smile. Although your adoring grin said otherwise, Niki was overwhelmed at the thought that she offended you some how. Before she could spew out apologies, you saw her slight panicked and acted quickly.
Cradling all the gifts with one hand, you pulled her forward and kissed her, your hand holding her gently while caressing her cheek. She hummed out a sound of surprise, the noise muffled against your lips.
While she was frozen for a few seconds, once the realization passed she relaxed completely from your touch, pulling you closer if it were humanely possible.
All you both could feel was each other, the warmth that spread throughout your bodies a releasing high that drove passion and unenforced love free. You could have stayed there forever, you felt, just taking Niki in for all that she was, but chose to pull away; you wanted to see her.
Panting from the huge surge of emotions that passed, you both gazed into each other’s eyes in a mix of shock and intimacy never before shared or expressed.
Grabbing her hand, you lifted it to your mouth and pressed your lips firmly to her knuckles. “Thank you, Niki. You’re more than I could ever ask for.”
Unlike her past encounters, Niki didn’t turn away. She embraced your tenderness and accepted the burning warmth that encapsulated her for what it was and finally presented.
She had nothing to hide anymore. She had nothing to fear anymore.

Bonus:
“Wait, what else do you have in the bag?”
You were both sprawled onto a large boulder, the rock perched slightly above the water surface in the middle of the lake. Considering the chill of the night and the cool touch of the stone, you were embraced in each other’s hold, arms strung together with hands intertwined.
“Oh, I almost forgot!” Sitting up right, Niki pulled out all the objects in a pile and separated the ones you already saw in comparison to the others. She picked each one up as she explained.
“This is called a tea kettle! I mentioned him before, but Ranboo found it while… digging (she didn’t know how to kindly say playing with dirt). It’s old but called an ‘antique’ because it’s rare!” Handing you the small pot, your finger grazed against the rusted metal in fascination of the discoloring and ancient beauty.
“Now these are sulfur crystals! Jack is from the nether so he collects a lot of them when he finds pure ones.” Lifting one towards the sky, you awed at the color that shined through it, the yellow hue soft yet vibrant under the moonlight glow. Reaching for one gently, you peered through the flat crystal with a giggle.
“They sometimes can smell really bad he said, but as long as we don’t mix it with other things like potions, we should be alright.” You hummed while still gazing through the clear solid.
Enamored with the crystals, your attention was drawn back to Niki when you heard something chime.
“I’m not sure why Wilbur thought it would be a good idea to gift these to us, but he thought it best to give us these things called jingle bells.” Shaking them once more, you were delighted to find they had a joyful-like sound, the light ringing noise something magnificent that you’ve never heard before underwater.
You played with them once Niki gave them to you, your smile wide from the new discovery and breathless to the music it sang.
“Oh I didn’t realize he put one in.”
“Who?” you asked, your eyes still on the small metal balls that reflected the moon in combination to the water surface.
Niki sighed before stating with a smile, “Fragrance Man.”
You paused at the name, and turned towards her confused. “Fragrance Man?”
Nodding softly with an amused chuckle, Niki revealed the final item to you. It was a glass bottle, one typically used for potions, but held strange bundles all tied individually.
“I think from the last time he showed me that these are called ‘sage bundles.’ You’re supposed to burn them for a stronger smell, but he might have put it in here since that last time I saw his collection, I liked smelling it from the bottle.”
Holding it out towards you, Niki uncapped the cork top for you to try. You leaned over and hovered your nose over the open neck, exhaling in captivation from the floral foliage and cooling sensation it brought.
“Wow, Niki. This is all so amazing!” You had little to say to the collection of trinkets she assembled for you, still speechless to the effort she went through for you.
“You’re friends sound so nice and thoughtful,” you hummed, reaching for her hand again and interlacing your fingers together.
Niki snorted at the thought but accepted your hand nonetheless.
“They’re okay sometimes.”

TW: violence, fighting, description of injury but nothing too graphic I think
Dicey Nights
Sword in hand, solid stance, deep breath. He could do this.
Techno tapped his foot anxious against the cement floor, waiting for his opponent to climb over the ropes and enter the arena. The air was thick and hot from the muggy night’s humidity and the crowds incessantly loud cheering. The arena was dimly lit around the stans, all light coming from a giant overhead, casting grimmy light over the blood splatters that stained the rough concrete.
His opponent entered the ring, eyes flashing in the light, lips quirked up in a barely perceptible grin. Techno’s anxiety shot from his stomach to his heart, this man was like a tank, tall with bulky limbs and long flat sword.
Techno pushed his worries away, he had taken on opponents bigger then himself before, just not that big, but they needed the money, he had to win this.
They both walked to the middle of the platform, shook hands, the other man gripping too tightly to be friendly, then they turned and walked back to their starting places.
The buzzer sounded and the man shot forwards, sword swinging in an arch, Techno’s sword clashed with his, metal screeching pierced the air as the man tried to overpower Techno, putting his weight on the sword.
Techno kicked him in the knee, the man sputtered and slipped, allowing Techno to dodge to the side then ram into the man, sending him to the ground. He moved to slash his sword at the man’s neck and fake out the audience then the duel finished, quick and easy if the man stayed down for the three count.
Suddenly the man lashed out and landed a kick square into Techno chest, sending him reeling. Techno scrambled to his feet, stifling a groan. His ribs protesting vehemently, sending shockwaves of fire through his chest, he watched as the other man rolled back onto his feet.
The man, Techno heard the crowd cheering ‘Go Thrasher!’, ran at him again, opting to not overpower him but overwhelm him, he swung wildly, he obviously never had any training.
Techno took the defensive, slash, stab, dodge, block, kick back, and repete, analyzing Thrasher’s fighting style, his patterns and goto movements. Once he memorized the motions he switched to offense, changing his own patterns as well, quick slashes and jabs, forcing Thrasher back, Techno would kick at the man’s legs then go back to swinging.
In a ditch effort Thrasher whipped his sword around only for Techno to kick it out of his hands, sending it flying. Techno slammed into the man once again, taking advantage of his distraction, and knocked him to the ground.
He pointed his sword at the man’s neck, looking down the blade at Thrasher, the crowd around him screaming, “Go Blade go!” He tried to keep his face emotionless, waiting for the announcer to call it off.
Thrasher wasn’t giving up, he kicked at Techno again, who half dodged half stumbled away. Thrasher moved faster then Techno had even seen, Techno lashed out, slicing his arm but it didn’t faze Thrasher. Rage blazing in his eyes he jumped on Techno and knocked him to the ground, half pinning him, a knee on one of Techno’s arms, knocking his sword away.
Thrasher punched him across the face, Techno’s head jerked to the side, pain flaring in his face, nausea rising in his gut as the man reared back and hit him again and again.
Techno weakly grabbed for his sword but came up short, his vision was blurring, hot blood dripped down his face, matting his hair. In a last ditch effort, he threw a punch, aiming for Thrasher's throat, he hit his target dead on and hard.
Thrasher gasped and faltered, his grip loosen and Techno took his chance. He yanked himself away and sent another kick to the man's chest, scrambling towards his sword.
He didn’t know what he was doing, he couldn’t win this, the adrenaline would wear off soon and he’d lose, he wouldn’t be able to fight after this, he’d have to go home empty handed. That thought alone made him feel even more sick.
Thrasher rose to his feet, breathing heavily, Techno got into a weak stance, prepared to go down fighting. You weren’t allowed to kill in the duels but Techno was scared Thrasher would chuck those rules out the window. Thrasher’s fists were clenched, cracked and bloody at his sides, fire in his eyes, he let out a roar. Techno’s grip on his sword tightened and he prepared to swing-
The buzzer sounded.
The fight lasted 10 minutes, the announcer called it a draw. The audience booed and complained as Techno went to shake hands with Thrasher.
Thrasher looked at Techno’s hand in disgust before slapping it away, “You fight dirty, freak.” He growled, Techno scowled but bit his tongue and flipped Thrasher off and stalked off as dignified as he could with the room spinning like a toy top.
He grabbed a bottle of water from the sidelines and chugged it when one of the organizers threw a small pouch at him.
“You’re off your game,” The women commented lazily, not looking up from her clipboard, “I expected better.”
“Then you hop on in there,” Techno grumbled, not making eye contact as he pocketed the pouch, he sheathed his sword.
“I’d rather die,” She said, eyes flickering up from the page, “Just like you almost did.”
Techno snorted, “Please,” He said, shouldering his bag and walking towards the bathrooms, “I neva die.”
He somehow managed to get to the bathroom without collapsing, he pushed open the door and stumbled over to the sinks. He gripped the edge tightly, waiting for the room to stop spinning, he looked up at the mirror and realized he was fucked.
There was a gross cut on his hairline, trickling blood down his face, the right side of his face was covered in blooming bruises, blood from his nose smeared down his chin, he looked like a mess.
He felt like a mess.
Techno grabbed a paper towel and ran it under the faucet then scrubbed it against down his chin and along his hairline, ignoring the sting. He dried his face off then filled up his water bottle, dreading the fact that he couldn’t hide this from his family. He hoped to get home before Wilbur or Tommy woke up, he knew he couldn’t avoid Phil, he got up extra early to be able to commute to work.
Techno started home, not bothering to stay for any other duels, he wouldn’t be able to win, not in the state he was in anyways. He squeezed past the security guards and tried not to fall while walking, the trip home only should have been around forty minutes but between his slow pace and stopping to take breaks so he wouldn’t pass out it took him over 2 hours to get back.
The rusty metal stair squeaked as Techno climbed them, they groaned as he put his weight on the railing, god he wanted to lay down.
He unlocked the door, trying to push it open as quietly as possible, of course the door made that impossible as it creaked loudly.
The door cast a shadow on the soft light coming from the kitchen, Techno could hear dishes clicking quietly.
“Hey Tech,” Phil said, as Techno locked the door again, “You’re back later then usual-” He stopped, staring at Techno’s face, Techno immediately put his hands up, “Now I know what you’re thinking but let me just say; it’s not that bad.”
“Sit,” Phil said, setting his coffee cup down, Techno rolled his eyes, but sat down anyways. “Yeah I saw that coming,”
“Please tell me the other guys looks worse,” Phil prodded at the bruises on Techno’s face, Techno shrugged.
“Please tell me you didn’t get your face fucked up for nothing,”
“I hope? I mean I got a few good hits in, oh that reminds me,” Techno leaned over, rummaging through his bag for money pouch,
He immediately regretted it because it made the room spin again. He grumbled but found the pouch and tossed it on the table.
”It’s not a lot but it’s something,” Techno trailed off, he could have stayed longer, fought harder, been more useful but a few bruises sent him running back home. “I can go back tomorrow, get us more-”
“What? You’re not going back, you look like shit!” Phil said incredulously, checking the cut along his hairline,
“But we need the money,”
“We’ll get by,” Phil’s eyes narrowed, mouth in a tight line.
“That’s a lie-”
“No it’s not,”
“Phil I’m not stupid we need more and I can go back, tonight was just an off, when I go back I can get us more-”
“You’re not going back!” Phil said firmly, “You’ll get hurt again-”
“It’ll be worth it-”
“No! It’s not! Nothing is worth you getting this hurt!” Phil snapped, he took a breath, shoulders slumping. “I’m sorry it’s- it’s just not worth it, you need to be okay too, you deserve to be okay.”
Techno sat there, not sure what to say. Phil looked at the clock and swore under his breath, “Shit, I’m gonna be late,” He grabbed his coat, “I’ll see you later, take it easy, alright?” Techno nodded as Phil walked out the door.
He sits there for a minute, not sure what to do, he wants to sleep for 45 hours but he is also hungry. He opted to grab a banana when he hears Wilbur yell from the other room;
“Tommy brush your hair!” The bedroom door opened, “No! It looks fine!” He didn’t notice Techno as he walked into the bathroom, Wilbur followed him out a moment later.
“Hey Wil,”
“Hey Tech, you're up earlier and oh my god are you okay?” He trailed off to the next point, gesturing gingerly at Techno’s face.
“Yes, I’m fine, I promise,” Techno said again, putting his hands up and rolling his eyes. Wilbur nodded, they stood there for a moment before Wilbur asked;
“Did Phil flip out?”
“Oh yeah definitely,”
“Well, at least something’s normal,” Techno snorted.
“Hey Wilbur, we’re low on toothpaste again-” Tommy said, coming out of the bathroom, he looked at Techno and trailed off.
“Uh, Techno, You’ve got a little something,” Tommy gestured to his own face, hand hovering over the whole right side, “on your face, like everywhere.”
Techno snorted and smiled softly, “Thanks for telling me nerd,”
“What happened?”
“Not important,” Techno said, grabbing an orange from their fruit bowl, tossing it at Tommy, who caught it with ease, “What is important is that you’re gonna be late for school, now get going.” He hadn’t told Tommy about the arena fights, he didn’t know how Tommy would react and he didn’t want to encourage it or risk it.
“No I’m not, you’re just avoiding the question!” Tommy protested, jamming his finger into the skin of the orange.
“You sure about that?” Techno nodded to the clock on the wall, 7:06.
“Oh shit, I gotta go,” Tommy said, Wilbur slapped the back of his head, “Language,”
“What come on! You say it all the time!”
“Yeah cause I’m older then you, now grab your shit,”
“Now you're just rubbing it in!” Tommy said, grabbing his backpack off the hook by the door.
“You’re right, now let’s go, I’ll walk to you,” Wilbur stopped in the doorway, Techno could hear the creaks of the stairs as Tommy jumped down. Wilbur looked at Techno, eyes soft.
“Go to sleep Tech, you look like you need it,”
“Well I was going to but now that you said that, I think I’ll stay up,” He teased, Wilbur rolled his eyes.
“If you aren’t asleep by the time I get back I will crush you,”
“I’d like to see you try,” Techno shot back as Wilbur closed the door, locking it.
The banana forgotten and set back on the counter, Techno slipped his shoes and laid down, hoping the others wouldn’t worry too much, he fell asleep almost immediately.

Hi love. I hope you get this one lmao. Can you pls write a Tommy Shelby x Reader where the Reader gets married to Tommy as an arranged marriage as she is a leader of a gang herself? I want it to be something on the lines of how they end up talking all night to each other on their wedding night, sharing their deepest, darkest secrets and they make a pact to each of staying loyal as long as they are married to each other? Here they don't love each other yet.
            "So, how did you two meet?"
            You and Tommy looked at each other. "I suppose it's a long story."
           ~~
            You weren't lying to your sister. It was, indeed, a long story. It started in your club. The one you'd worked tirelessly to acquire. Sure you ran illegal business out of said club, but that wasn't anyone else's business but your own. Being a woman was tough enough in society, but in the underworld, it was damn near impossible.
            So you did your best to keep a strong reputation and keep strong, loyal people around you. It worked for a while. A few years, at least. But as you gained a profit, the sharks began to circle and close in on you.
            You suppose you were just lucky that Tommy Shelby managed to get to you first.
                       It was a normal night. You were in the club, making sure things were running smoothly and schmoozing with the clientele. It was a credit to your personality. Charisma got you close friends and people who enjoyed your company. Stubbornness allowed you to be tough on the people who weren't trying to be friends with you. You garnered a reputation of being a fun person to hang around. But people were wise to stay on your good side. Otherwise, there would be consequences.
            Like there were for the man who groped you learned the same night you met Tommy. The second you felt the man's hand, you grabbed his wrist and twisted it so hard, he was on his knees begging for mercy.
            When you looked up from your would-be attacker, you found a well-dressed man with a cigarette in hand watching.
            "Miss y/n/l, I'm guessing."
            You let go of the groper's wrist. "If you'll give me a second, I need to take care of business." You replied before landing a sharp kick to the groper's side. "Get him the fuck out of here." You alerted your security guard who had come over when he heard a commotion. "He ever steps into my club again, I'll bury him under the floorboards."
            "Yes, Miss y/l/n."
            You finished your drink on the table. "So, who are you?"
            "Thomas Shelby. I'm here to make you an offer."
 ~~~
            "Oh, you met at the club, how romantic." Your sister clapped her hands together in glee. Of course, you hadn't told her everything. Your younger sister was the only family member you had left and you kept her out of any illegal business. All she knew was you made money, earning her shopping sprees and trips to Paris and Rome.
            "Yeah...romantic."
            Tommy side-eyed you. It wasn't romantic. Not at first.
 ~~~
            "You think you can walk into my club and try to buy it off of me?" You scoffed. "You think you're the only person to ever try that?"
            Tommy shrugged. "Running a club on your own, not very feasible is it? What would you do if something happened? Who would you turn to? You've no parents."
            You narrowed your eyes at him. Of course, if you'd known he was coming, you would've dug up some dirt on him too. But you just had to roll with the punches much like everything else in life. "I assure you, Mr. Shelby, I'm not alone."
            "The Tigress Club three blocks down."
            The mere mention of the name was enough to put a scowl on your face. The owner always giving you a hard time, disrupting business, and the worst of all, sneering at you and calling you 'little girl'. "What about it?"
            "From what I know, they're a thorn in your side," Tommy replied coolly.
            "They have been, what's that to you?"
            "My brothers aren't here for a reason. They're three blocks away, taking the Tigress Club."
            You furrowed your brow. "Taking it? Like they're just walking in and taking it? Are you serious?" You laughed. "That's absolutely mad."
            "The club is yours if you enter an agreement with me."
            A rush went to your head. Owning the Tigress? After all that hell you went through to keep the owner from taking over your business? What an absolute joy. But you weren't going to just agree to anything. "What sort of agreement?"
            "A marriage."
            You stared at the man who you'd only just met. "Pardon?" You blinked, wondering if you'd heard him right or if he was just using some sort of slang that you weren't familiar with. But he seemed too serious to use slang and you were certain you'd heard the word correctly. "Marriage? With you?"
            He nodded as if he were only asking for a cigarette.
            "Wh-so you-I marry you and you give me ownership of a club? Why would I agree to that?" You were utterly flustered. Some handsome stranger had really walked in, offered you a gift of a club, and then proposed marriage out of the blue. You felt as if you were in some sort of fever dream.
            "It'll be mutually beneficial. You get the club, as well as other ownerships. I'll be able to aid in your smuggling operation."
            "So, what? You're looking for control over this area of London or something? If you're able to just walk into clubs and take them, then why not just do that? Or why don't we just sign a contract?" You thought marriage seemed to be a few steps past what was the norm.
            "Because I've had allies before who have turned into enemies. I'm not wasting any more time with people I can't trust." Tommy answered. And he appeared genuinely serious about the matter.
            You studied his expression for a bit before crossing your arms over your chest and leaning back in your leather desk chair. "Uh-huh. I think I've just figured you out, Mr. Shelby." You reported.
            He didn't seem fazed and only nodded in amusement. "You think?"
            "I leave people talking about me, I know that. Word must've gotten to you about a woman running her own club in a favorable part of London. A part you want to be in control of. But you also know about the Tigress. Run by someone else who is capable albeit a total pain in the arse. So who do you approach and who do you send your brothers after?"
            He raised an eyebrow. "Is there a problem with that?"
            "I think you made the right choice. But girls like to be courted a bit before they're proposed to. And I also like reading a contract before I agree to anything. So why don't you make some effort then come back and we'll talk again."
 ~~~
            "So sweet, you knew you wanted to marry her the first time you met?" Your sister practically swooned at the ideal situation you two were conjuring up.
            "Er, well yes," Tommy answered because technically it wasn't a lie.
            "But he had to prove himself." You sent him a subtle smirk.
~~~
            He did. He visited twice a week, every week for the next three months. He brought legal contracts about the Tigress, now under his ownership, as he said. In return, you gave him a prenuptial agreement.
            The hilarity of it all was not lost on you. But after your first meeting with Tommy, you sat up all night wondering what you should do with the offer. Sometimes having the reputation you did didn't lead to a very successful love life. Men were either intimidated by your power or afraid of ever pissing you off. Maybe this was your last chance at ever finding someone. Not to mention, it was someone who understood the work you did, understood the sacrifices you made, and damn it if he wasn't nice to look at. Beyond your shallow thoughts, you found him to be more respectable than most men in your line of work. He didn't treat you like a toy, an object, or a joke. He didn't think it was cute that you were trying to own a club. Didn't patronize you.
            When everything was settled with business, you agreed to the marriage. At some points in your agreement, you wondered if you'd gone crazy. Wondered what possessed you to make such an arrangement. But on the other hand, you knew that your life was far from typical. You enjoyed the unorthodox, you weren't going to be some wife sitting at home tending to the children. But you didn't want to end up alone either. You figured Tommy was a good medium.
 ~~~
            "Well, that's such a nice story. I'm so glad y/n has finally found the one." Your sister roped you into a tight hug.
            "I know." You forced a smile, feeling majorly uncomfortable with all the lies you just told her. But as long as she assumed the best in you, she lived a happy existence. That's all you ever wanted for her.
 ~~~
            From there, your sister coordinated with the Shelby family to put the wedding together. The closer the date got, the more nervous you became. Sure you'd gotten to know Tommy, but on a very shallow level. It was hard to know him better when you were both so busy with regular work on top of planning a wedding.
            When the day came, you oddly woke up with a sense of peace. Your stomach wasn't in knots, your palms were sweaty, and you didn't have the overwhelming urge to run. That peace maintained all the way to the altar. Maybe it was just a sign that it was meant to be.
            When Tommy lifted the veil from your face, you found yourself staring back at the blue eyes that had been sneaking into your dreams the last few nights. For a moment, you forgot to breathe. Was this really the man you were marrying? It was hard to trace back how you'd gotten there, but in that briefest of moments, before the preacher began to speak, you felt so happy. It was strange happiness, a happiness that you wondered if was valid or not. But at the end of the ceremony, you realized happiness was happiness. You were getting what you wanted. And if the bonus addition was falling in love, then you were ready for that.
 ~~~
            Later on in the reception, you excused yourself to find Tommy. He was outside in the garden smoking a cigarette.
            It was still hard to believe the house you now lived with him. Having a flat in London to now living in an estate with acres of open land. But there were a lot of things you had to get used to.
            You sat down next to Tommy and he offered you a cigarette. You stuck it between your lips and leaned forward so he could light it for you.
            "Tired of my family yet?" Tommy asked with a small smile.
            "No, they're lovely." You replied after a drag. "I think we'll get along well. They know how to party."
            He chuckled. "That they do." He agreed.
            You both looked out into the night, watching the sky fade to black. Some fireflies danced across the lawn, almost blinking to the sounds around them. Night birds and the rustle of wind in the trees.
            "My parents used to bring my sister and me out to the countryside every summer." You remembered. The scent of clean air brought out memories that you hadn't unearthed in years. "Not in a house like this." You laughed. "Just a little cottage."
            "We were always on the road in the summer," Tommy said. "There was nothing better than camping outside and just..." He shrugged and shook his head. "Getting away from all that shit in the city."
            "You lose touch of a lot of things." You agreed.
            Silence fell over you again. Then, Tommy stubbed his cigarette out on the gravel. "What was your favorite game to play as a kid?" He asked.
            You smiled. "Oh, I'm not sure I mean...we jumped rope. I was pretty good at that."
            He rolled his eyes. "God, Ada would always make us spin the rope for her, it was exhausting."
            "That's sweet, what a good older brother." You cooed.
            "I swear sometimes I still have shoulder aches from that." He muttered.
            "I'm pretty sure you got more injuries from riding horses than spinning rope." You teased.
            "Well...I suppose."
            "What was your first horse?"
            There wasn't even a time for hesitation because Tommy knew it all by heart. "First one I rode was Hank. Little Welsh pony." He held his hand up. "Maybe twelve hands, if that. Stubborn little git. Dumped me off so many times."
            You smiled and moved closer to him so you could rest your head on his shoulder. "Tell me more." You requested.
            Tommy paused and you could almost feel him looking at you, trying to decipher the gesture. But he didn't say anything. He only wrapped an arm around your shoulders. "First one I officially owned...I guess that was Gus. He was a Morgan, well built. Best connection I've had with a horse..."
            Both of you forgot there was even a party going on in the house behind you. You were too busy talking. You talked the entire night without a long pause. That same peaceful feeling overcame you. An indication that you were in the right place.
