i think the biggest problem of season 3 (of which there are Several) is the shift away from football being the crux of the story, which has undoubtedly resulted in the aimless, overstuffed, unfocused narrative we've been seeing for the last eight episodes. season one was as excellent as it was because whether richmond won or lost a match actually mattered; if they lost too many matches, they'd be relegated, and relegation was always treated as a distinct, tangible threat. there were stakes. and while season two had its issues with pacing and unnecessary subplots, no one would call it aimless. the characters had a goal (pun intended): to get promoted back to the premier league. if they lost too many matches, they would stay in the championship league. we as the audience were invested in whether or not richmond won or lost, and the narrative was all the stronger and more coherent for it.
season one asked us, can afc richmond avoid relegation? and we were invested in the answer. season two asked us, can afc richmond be promoted? and we were invested in the answer. now we're eight episodes into season three, and the overarching goal of the season, the question it is asking its audience to remain invested in, is...what? what are we building towards? is afc richmond's goal to win the whole damn thing? to beat west ham? to beat man city? to do just enough to avoid relegation again?
and because we can't answer this question, the narrative has suffered greatly. how are we supposed to believe beard when he says man city is the team's white whale if we haven't even seen them play each other yet this season? if ted's total football epiphany was so life-changing for richmond, why did we speed past all the matches this episode where the team won using that strategy? if this is all leading to a final nate-ted west ham-richmond match, why haven't we spent any time with nate at west ham? why haven't we gotten to see him grow and develop as a coach? at one point, the team was doing so badly that higgins suggested firing ted, who has been visibly struggling on and off the pitch - and the narrative did not give that suggestion the weight it might have had in season one or two. we spent an entire episode watching rupert, rebecca, and chelsea fight over zava - and then two episodes later he was gone, and we haven't so much as mentioned him since. just last season, sam was being heralded as the star of afc richmond, highly sought after by other club owners - but we haven't gotten to see any of his alleged brilliance on the pitch this season at all. i have to kick a little ball around, which those same people love me for, sam said in 3.07, that is, until i fuck up or miss a penalty, or i decide to fight back - a speech that was excellently delivered by toheeb, but loses some of its weight because we haven't actually gotten to see any negative reaction to sam missing a penalty or fucking up or deciding to fight back (not even in season 2 after the dubai air boycott).
(all this to say: i do enjoy the show. i love the characters, i've been enjoying the episodes as individual units, and i'll continue to tune in week after week. but for a show that once boasted football was life, it's sure been suffering since it decided to stop focusing on that.)

The Wilds ep 1 rewatch notes:
-Leah has really deep cuts on her feet during her exam. I wonder if we find out how she got those?
-How did they know Leah likes jarritos? How long have they been watching her pre island?
-logistically how incredibly dangerous is it to put a passed out person on a floating piece of debris in the middle of the ocean? Couldn't they have rolled over and drowned?
-was Jeanette's phone in her suitcase supposed to ring or was that coincidence? Who was calling her?
-when Leah finds Jeanette and swims to her, Jeanette is muttering the Pink lyrics....why???
-is Shelby left handed? She introduces herself to Martha and sticker her left hand out to shake.
-Jeanette points ti the island before Leah sees it. And it looks like Jeanette's eyes were pretty much closed this whole time. (Obviously she knew it was there, foreshadowing she's the confederate before we even know about the experiment twist.)
-could it have just been fake blood by Toni's ear? There's never any mention of it, could have just washed off before anyone could really examine her for a real wound.
-still don't understand why there's SO MUCH emphasis on the CPR thing. Especially since everyone in my high school was required to become cpr certified through our health class. We had a whole unit and everything so I just thought this was normal.
-Leah trimming the hedges at her house, is she interested in gardening and plants or is it just an odd chore?
-"I'm not sure we're anywhere near Hawaii." Amd then Nora hands Leah the book. The SECOND Leah starts to examine the reality of their situation, Nora is there to throw her off. (Which also makes me ask, how much prep did Nora get before the trip? How much does she already know about the girls at this point?"
-still think there's something important about how Fatin's call is the only one that actually rings. All the others got an out of service reject tone. Who did she call and why wasn't that number blocked?
-Gretchen asks if they cut Jeanette's phone, they say yes and then proceed to show her the video of the burrial that happened "about 3 hours ago" We know the phone rings after she's buried around 1:30am and Leah finds it. If the phone was cut off, who the fuck called it and why?

The fact that the Pokédex calls him a clown rather than a mime amuses me to no end because
What is considered a mine in this universe
What is considered a full clown
If he matches a with clown more than a mime then what was the point of calling him ‘mr. mime’ in the first place
If mines are now considered clowns in this pokeverse, what do street performers look like?
I may be somewhat of a clown
Why does he look high on cocaine. This isn’t part of the name fiasco but I wanna know.
His characteristic has definitely entered my vocabulary and when I fail I will recite it

(Spoiler warning for anyone who hasn't finished reading lcf part 1)
Just another random thought (yes, it's me and my stupid theories again), but do y'all think the Thames household could have fled to a different dimension/world? Is that why fake hilsman had to meet Cale who became a famous hero disguised as fake hilsman to tell him that hunters reappeared??
The reason the household was said to have perished is unknown, but I really can't get rid off the feeling they are actually still alive but hiding their existence for some reason, even if it was just a small number of them. I mean, fake hilsman was alive. There could be more of them alive!! :/
Did the ws being reborn as a Thames have something to do with that? I mean, it was mentioned that ws and sg were just being used by the hunters. And it was also mentioned that different hunter households weren't on good ties. Could they have tried to use the ws (krs’ very original body) to cause problems to them?
Another thing is that, do you think ws was supposed to be the head of the Thames household or something? I mean, that way he could mess with them more, and remember that time when Jour regained the other half of her power, she suddenly asked Cale if he wanted to become the head of their fam. Was it just because Cale now had her complete AP?
The way people always thought kimcale's demeanor was like a lord always had me thinking about this. I'm probably just overthinking but the thought is too exciting to ignore sjdkdhskls
And assuming that my hypothesis is right, do you think Cale would get to meet ws' parents? Would they look like krs’s parents? Are they even alive? How many years ago was the ws born anyways....
If the earth 1 timeline is the same as lcf and krs' 36 years equaled the ws' last body's age, then there is a possibility that they could be alive, albeit really small since it was said that the thames household is no more, and since the ws' curse might've already killed them.
Henitoksu did say that 2 years of lcf= 2 weeks on earth1, but that's after the regression happened. The flow of time in lcf might have changed for the last 2 years, since they're after ogcale regressed.
I want to believe that they (ws' parents), it they knew that their son's nody was being posessed by the ws, at least knew that roksu was living a good childhood with caring parents. He had happy memories with caring parents, lonely souls who found solace in each other.

i am asking YOU to rant about YOUR WIP pls 😇😇😇😇
YOU CANNOT GIVE ME THIS POWER IT'S SIMPLY TOO MU-
anyways, let's talk Landoscar and Chapter 2 of Is It Gay to Watch Your Teammate on TikTok? 😇😇
Details below the cut due to length
What's Been Taking So Long?
first and foremost, this was originally meant to be a oneshot -- but then I couldn't quite figure out the ending. I knew there needed to be a moment of acceptance on Lando's part, but then I was like.... "so what's next?". I had a vague idea that the culmination could happen in Suzuka, so I just ran with it and posted the first part as Chapter 1.
If I had been smart, I would have outlined the Suzuka chapter before committing but alas... I'm a moron 🥰
So I spent a while just trying to find the plot. The boys kept running me in a million directions, but I finally got there!!! With infinite help from YOU, my dear Lima lol
What Inspired This WIP?
Deadass I thought of a random line of dialogue while brewing my tea in the office. Standing there, staring blankly at my mug, it popped into my head:
“I mean, who wants to shag a coworker, right?” "HAHA YEAH SERIOUSLY WHO WOULD WANT THAT HAHA NOT ME OR ANYTHING OK BYE"
Which obviously had undeniable Landoscar energy. And then the rest was born.
Favorite Bit in Ch. 2 So Far?
Without spoiling too much, the boys have some ✨forced proximity✨ in Tokyo, which results in this beauty:
“The algorithm must know I’m in Japan,” He shrugs, playing it as cool as possible. “Sebzuka, and all that.” “Vettel has a ship name with a… country?” Oscar’s brow is fully furrowed now. “Oh my god, they don’t want him to fuck Japan, mate!” Lando laughs, the tension he felt just seconds ago broken by the earnestness in Oscar’s expression. “But they want him to… fuck… Lewis?” He clarifies, the word ‘fuck’ nearly comical in his nonplused delivery.
Oscar trying desperately to understand Lando and his brain rot is so dear to me
This is also a beloved favorite moment, courtesy of Sebastian and his field trip:
“I’m gonna make the best bee sex hotel.” Lando says with an easy smile as he basks in Sebastian’s warm gaze. Their hug feels distinctly — comparatively — brief.
Other Thoughts:
I've really enjoyed trying to balance Lando's humor with investigating deeper concerns. Things like the seniority imbalance if Lando tries to initiate anything with Oscar, the fact that addressing the elephant in the room may end up being more dangerous to than both than its worth. It's been a difficult tone to strike -- which is another reason this has taken a while -- but I think it really suits both of them as characters.
I'm actually going to spend my evening working on this some more!! Hopefully it's out ASAP (brain cooperation allowing, as always ^^;)

Hey, what do you mean by Perfect Cell? This has so many possible implications. Can he spawn mini hims? Can he fucking absorb people? EXPLODE?! There is a few things this could mean
On reflection, it's actually more of a Piccolo thing, since Perfect Cell has the trait from Piccolo's DNA, just turned up to 11, and Lamarr cannot regenerate from total obliteration the way Cell can.
So Lamarr can't pull a Perfect Cell, but he can pull a Piccolo. But I wanna use The Lines.

I'm so looking forward to iroh and zuko properly talking and seeing irohs reaction to zuko being gay.
Like we all know he doesn't agree with the fire nation rn but how will he react?
Will he not support him cause sokkas a guy? Will he not support him because it's SOKKA? Will he accept him? Will he reveal he's known for years zuko was gay?
Especially with everything that happened with zhao, regarding to what jee said to bato on their date. (Which is a very understandable perspective, zuko just got out of this very sexually traumatising situation and almost immediately starts a relationship (his first relationship) with sokka, but then again it is a very unique situation)
One thing I love about some atla fics is how they portray the FNs thoughts on queerness, cause on one hand they were one of the only country's (I think) that treated men and women the same but then again it's also the fucking fire nation.
And I also think zukos whole canon arc can be very comparative to queerness,
His dads an asshole and after speaking out against him he throws him out, and zuko try's for 3 years to regain his father's love and acceptance, and then faced with the opportunity of regaining it takes it immediately regardless of who or what he may hurt (iroh, his own morals etc) but once he makes it back home realises how fucked up everything is and eventually confronts his dad and openly tells him he doesn't agree with him then runs aways.
I also wonder if iroh secretly knows jee is queer it doesn't seem that likely to me but it also is iroh so who knows.
<3
I do think Iroh’s reaction will be a big moment for not only the story but for Zuko’s character development. Right now, Zuko’s technically still a prisoner, holding himself there by assuming Iroh will not understand or judge him when in reality he’ll never know what his uncle is thinking until they TALK ABOUT IT. (Which the FN royal family is just sooo good at healthy communication I don’t understand why this is so hard for them lol?!)
I do agree that the suddenness of the relationship combined with the intensity from both zuko and Sokka is very alarming for people looking at it from the outside (I mean we all totally get it cause we were there but others are like uhhhh hmmmm ok this might be concerning) so I get them gossiping and wondering if this is truly real or what the fucks going on with those boys.
I love Zukos canon arc because there’s just so much about zukos story that can be relatable no matter who you are and I think that’s why he is a fan favorite (it doesn’t explain why we torture him the way we do but ehhhh it’s fine haha)
Hmmmmmm does iroh know Jees gay? Depends on how saucy those music nights got ;)

what are some your hc’s for tedtrent!! go crazy please!! :))
oh man oh man i know i have a whole bunch of them that i cannot for the life of me remember on the top of my head rn, which is why this ask is taking so long for me to answer but HMM...
i know that people like to make Trent out to be this, experienced Elder Gay type of guy but in my heart i know he's just as inexperienced to it as Ted (who, in my head, is bisexual, recently found out during his time in london or during the amsterdam episode even) and they're just two people falling in love in the most "I don't know how to do this, but I want to atleast try" way and at times get soo so so overwhelmed that someone loves them as much as they love the other. maybe their communication is absolute shit, maybe Trent doesn't even realize they're on their 3rd date and thought it was something similar to the indian restaurant where Ted just brought him along for dinner, i just think it could all be very silly, very intimate, just all around driving me up the damn walls!!!!!
oh also Trent absolutely hates Ted's whole, open jar peanut butter left on the counter for him to dip his finger into, thing. wishes daily that Ted would just use a darn spoon like a normal person 😭

Having demand avoidance in a medical setting is literally hell. Like, patient autonomy is already absolute ass. It's only made worse when doctors CONSISTENTLY tell you what to do and act like you HAVE to do it instead of consulting with you first like normal fucking people.
#also “”“”medical necessity“”“” is NOT an excuse here.#ive been to plenty of doctors that thoroughly discuss a range/timeline of treatment and explain it IN DETAIL before saying “thats what i-#-recommend“ instead of just going ”okay were gonna do this. im gonna explain the prep to you a mile a minute and if you have any follow up-#-questions im just gonna repeat part of my spiel with no clarification. and if i cant answer your questions too bad :)“#not to mention how many doctors just force you to do things that WILL NEVER WORK#like one therapist tried forcing me to do emdr when i was only IN HER TOWN for the summer and i had no internet access when i was at college#im pretty sure emdr takes several weeks to work and i did not have that kind of time available to me. i couldnt just drop out bc of ptsd.#also the number of times ive had to decline an ESI is stupid. I've already had 2! they didn't work! i had a bad reaction to the meds!#why am i being forced to do it again?#also back surgery. i cant do that because i am a white trash rural kid and our home (which we built ourselves) CANNOT be accessible enough#for spinal surgery recovery. but i went to the surgeon and he was like “thats valid! and also surgery literally wouldnt help you so idk why-#-they sent you here.“ : l It's cool to be right all the time lol#its like. no wonder i developed medical demand avoidance after so much traumatizing and malpracticy bullshit in my life#demand avoidance#medical demand avoidance#chronic illness burnout#chronic illness#chronic pain#medical tw#ptsd#disability#medical neglect#medical trauma#vent#this might be too personal. if i do delete it ill have it rb'd on my boar-deer-whitetrashbutterfly blog first#idk i just havent really been able to find anyone else talking about this specific effect of being chronically ill/disabled.

I love your rats dsaf auuuu
But I gotta ask, is there any Henry in it? Love me some conflict especially with Henry involed
Henry turns em into lab rats/j
Yeah he's kicking around somewhere in the void like usual, but since Dave's body was maimed beyond repossession when Hen springlocked him and it was thrown out like the trash he always thought it was, he didn't link the new rat squeaking at him to anything as Dave's weird technically parasitic soul juices hadn't turned his new rat body purple yet, and getting your neck broken by rat traps every week or so got too much after a while so dave with a bit less trauma than usual left, and came back a week later to see Hen gone
But if Hen somehow got his hands on them they would 100% be given the lab rat treatment.. And Dave would try and make pinkie and the brain references towards jack to try and lighten his mood
Also unrelated but I can't shut up about my ideas so you're listening anyway, so because rodent teeth constantly grow, jack does grow his back but he keeps on getting them knocked out in mildly ridiculous accidents, like a bad luck curse I gave to him for my own amusement, Dave helps by cutting up his food when he can see jack struggling

I don't understand why it's generally not socially acceptable to recognize your good qualities. Like I don't understand why it's bad to be a show-off or a know-it-all or to brag. Like I think most people know "those things = bad" but not why.
It also seems like people are always either waaaaay into one end of the scale where they are just so unbearably full of themselves and have preposterously high self esteem (and most people act like this is fine too? Like a lot of celebrities and white men specifically seem to be like this) and I don't understand why so many people respect them then. Or they're the complete opposite with self esteem way too low despite the fact that they have redeeming qualities.
I feel like maybe the reason it's considered bad to brag is because you might 'make' other people feel inadequate but see that seems like a stupid reason to me because the problem then is not that you stated an opinion of your own self worth but is actually that everyone else is conditioned to compare themselves to each other in a very unhealthy way. And I think instead of discouraging people from opening up about what they take pride in, what they like about themselves, what makes them feel happy or content or confident, maybe we could just be discouraging people from viewing those things as personal threats? Idk just trying to formulate some thoughts on this
#idk why but this feels like a very convoluted topic#like so many people are probably coming from different starting positions on this than i am and im afraid that might#make it be misinterpreted or something#like i feel like there definitely is a balance where some self esteem is too little and some is too much#it just feels like it is exceedingly rare to find anyone with ideal realistic self esteem and idk why#i also dont mean this in a way to say that every action is the responsibility of the people taking offense either#because obviously thats not how that works. its understandable to demand a certain amount of respect#and to accept that your words (even the ones you say about yourself) could negatively impact other people#and thats not necessarily on them for being defensive#idk social concepts are strange and foreign to me so im still figuring this stuff out and through an autistic lense to boot#so sometimes i feel a bit like im conducting a study or an experiment more than writing a blog post#im just trying to understand people because i need to#it seems like the overwhelming majority of allistics have absolutely no interest in why they do the things that they do#so i have to go around experimenting instead of asking direct questions about this stuff#because when i do ask direct questions they look at me like i just asked them if the sky is actually blue or if its just gasses up there#in case you are not the most common dimwit. the sky is both of those things. however when you ask someone a question#phrased like that about a topic they dont want to admit they dont know about. they will usually avoid the question or answer absurdly#its actually kinda funny you should try it sometime#now im distracted because i dont know enough about how the sky works and i need to know#anyways gonna go down a research rabbit hole methinks

Also what is going on with the Daydreaming One??? She has a sister but can't remember her name to the point that she believes she's an only child. Did the sister went to that island in the north that mysteriously disappeared that no one can say the name of anymore? Is that also the island where the king came from cuz whenever you beat him, he keeps saying how he still can't say "it." What's "it"?

I need to rewatch Shakaar. From what I remember, it takes place 3 years after the occupation ends, yet it's the first time Kira catches up with her old resistance cell members? That may not be accurate, but if it is, why? And did she remain in contact with them, besides Shakaar, until they were all picked off in The Darkness and the Light? Or did they drift their separate ways again?

🍙 + a blood pack of Elder vitae (no risk of a blood bond, it just packs much more of a punch "nutrition"-wise). @gnarledbite
feed the raccoon
Tumblr media
ㅤhungry as they are, it takes a great deal of self control for them to not sink their teeth into the blood bag the instant it's in their hands. really, it's garrett's words explaining what it is which have them hesitating — no risk of blood bond is reassuring, but they... haven't had vitae before, period, let alone elder vitae. something about it is... oddly nerve-wracking, though they can't put a finger on why exactly — other than it being something new to them, anyway, as well as the horror stories they've heard about feeding on another kindred. still though, with the promise of no dreaded blood bond (and coming from garrett... it's a promise they do actually trust), and the smell of it they can get even through the plastic... they're not going to be able to resist for long.
Tumblr media
ㅤㅤ" so, like. what. s'is the kindred equivalent of fine wine, or somethin'? "ㅤa none-too-concealed sarcasm drips from their tone as byan, against their better judgement, raises the blood bag closer to their nose and draws in the scent. ...if their mouth still watered, it'd be doing so right now. unconsciously, their grip tightens, squeezing the bag while they fight the temptation to rip into it like some sort of feral animal.
ㅤㅤ" never liked wine all that much... "ㅤgrumbling more to themself than anything else, words effectively serving as an effort to help them maintain some amount of self-control than it is any genuine belief that their comparison is all that accurate, they hold the pack there beneath their nose, now pressed against their upper lip, for a moment longer. ultimately, they can't resist — they're too hungry to be able to resist. the nosferatu's reassurance still floating somewhere in the back of their mind, the fledgling's lips part, fangs finally puncturing the plastic of the bag to release the vitae within, their head tipping back to avoid spilling any of the precious liquid onto the floor.
it's... bliss. inherently similar to the feeling they get from feeding on a human, but more... intense. it could be placebo, they suppose — their mind believing that it's that different purely because it's something new; because it's vitae and not mortal blood — or even simply due to how long it's been since they last fed. —hell, for all they know, it could be a combination of two or all three factors! they don't know, it's hard to be sure, and their already brain shut off all thought that wasn't 'drink' about five seconds in to getting their first taste. whatever the reason for it may be, it's delectable, it's addicting, and they don't return to the present until they've sucked the blood pack dry.
realizing that they've emptied the thing, much to their chagrin, byan lowers the remains of the bag from their face, licking their lips to collect each and every stray drop. exhaling a low breath, their gaze flits to garrett, then darts away again just as quickly, a strange sense of embarrassment now coiling tight in their chest. ...it's the first time they've been in the same room as someone (other than their prey, at least) while they've fed, they realize. ...but why is that so uncomfortable?
ㅤㅤ" that was—... "ㅤthey begin, only to trail off, brow furrowing slightly as yet another realization strikes, pulling their attention away from their own self-consciousness.ㅤ" —wait. wait, wait, wait. i usually need a couple'a blood bags t' feel any kind'a satisfied if i haven't fed for a few nights... but i don't feel all that hungry anymore. s'at... normal? —s'at what y'mean about this stuff, "ㅤthey dangle the empty pack between their index finger and thumb,ㅤ" bein' more 'nutritious'? "
