Finally got around to watching Sing 2. It's a solid follow-up. Once more, Johnny remains the best character. I adored Taron Egerton's performance of "Sky Full of Stars". But, I think this one shined in one specific way that Trolls World Tour failed: Sing 2 had Bono, Trolls 2 had Ozzy.

Trolls failed to utilize Ozzy, fucking Ozzy Osborne, legendary Prince of Darkness whose contributions to Metal, Rock and Music in general cannot be overstated. They had the Man himself in a film about music with a specific lead towards Rock and Roll and made him a geriatric punchline who couldn't even rock the Horns without help. There's no reverence for him.

Bono on the other hand has an entire character to him. He has a presence, a character arc, a journey which does culminate in him having a musical number that, you know what, the movie earned. It's a duet, which concludes multiple characters' stories and fairly well.

I don't know what was up with Trolls. Maybe he just did it as a favor or something, but it feels... not right... to not even throw "Iron Man" into the soundtrack.

I feel sort of dirty every time DreamWorks misses and Illumination hits. I guess Trolls 2 gave DreamWorks access to Sam Rockwell, who nailed The Bad Guys. So there's that. But both Sing films consistently knock it out with there musical choices.

I still feel like Taron owes me another Elton John performance. Sing and Rocketman both conclude with "I'm Still Standing," which is thematically exactly right for both films, but I will make whatever absurdist claims I can to here him singing more Elton.

Give Johnny "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" for Sing 3, that will make it right with the world.

Viva x Barb angsty headcanons

(because im sensitive and stupid)

Barb

She's VERY insecure about struggling with relationships, but never really shows it. (looking at the movie scenes where she says that her kingdom tells her only what she wants to hear and how upset she is about poppy's card) All her heart really needed were friends and love, but she put too much pressure on herself.

Easily gets jealous over Viva, because of her abondment issues. She still feels like a pop troll could not love a hard rock one, especially knowing her conflicting past. This starts most of their fights, as Barb can just be TOO MUCH with that.

Insanely pressured about her role as a queen. She's scared of becoming what she used to be, no matter how much time has passed.

Struggles to control her emotions, especially anxiety and anger. That sets a specific picture of her to some, with only her closest ones knowing the real Barb, and only Viva understanding and supporting her through it. It even seems like her soft spot exists only because of Viva.

Used to be deeply depressed (before the events of World Tour) Thinking that "reuniting trolls" with her music is the only solution to her personal emptiness and pain. Not knowing yet, that the event that's actually going to change her is meeting a specific curly haired troll. (but hard rock was probably involved in that event, let's be honest)

Viva

Is deeply traumatized after the bergen attack and how she got seperated from most trolls. She falls into PTSD episodes in which her colors fade away and she leds Clay to cover her work.

Just after they started to form their mini-civilisation, she was still completely disturbed and turned to auto-agression as a coping mechanism, leaving scars on her body.

She's still frightened by bergens, trying to start a bond with Bridget, but the rest... Poppy still has to convince her to them, as Viva prefers to not visit them, if not necessery.

Feels VERY lost in Trollstopia. Not like it's a bad place, but it's so overwhelmingly different to her, that she feels like she has missed too much to normally function there.

Easily falls into panic and anxiety attacks as she's a really stressful troll. She still struggles to take part in bigger social events among unknown trolls. But Barb goes EVERYWHERE with her to support Viva, as well as giving her little motivational speeches before it.

Probably gonna write more some other time but now i'm really tired and i just have to let my imagination live here😭😭 AND ALSO I DONT WANNA GET TOO SAD ABOUT THEM MY BABIES DESERVE A HAPPY LIFE (which only means that i will make more post yapping about them)

Been noodling around with an angsty Trolls Fic idea I might write…

Post World Tour Branch gets stuck as a Rock Zombie, Poppy goes to his bunker in hopes of finding something that will break the spell. She finds a bunch of invitations and cards that she had given him over the years (she thought he had thrown most of them away) and behind all of them was a single beat up field journal. At the beginning the entries are very straightforward and factual with the occasional picture of some other trolls. After further investigation she realizes that the other trolls are Branches brothers who made up the band “Brozone”. After the events of the first movie the entries start to get more open emotionally. The most recent entry, dated the day they got the invite from Barb, said that Branch was going to tell Poppy that he loves her and wants to be more then friends. Poppy tears up at this and fades to a desaturated pink and her hair wilts. She hugs his journal to her chest takes a deep breath, her pink color returning as her determination to help Branch fills her. She sticks the journal in her hair and starts gathering supplies for her new adventure. She sets out on a mission to find and bring them all to Pop Village to help bring back Branch starting with John Dory and the Neverglades. Beginning of her journey parallels the first movie, she overcomes any challenges that come her way thanks to Branches survivalist training. After finding John Dory the rest of the story follows the same beats as Band Together from there. During the journey she is much more solemn than usual because she’s worried about Branch.

Back at Pop Village Tiny Diamond and her other friends are in charge of taking care of Branch who’s zombie condition is causing him to be more aggressive (think the animals affected by the night howlers in Zootopia)

I’m speaking as someone who hasn’t watched any of the Trolls movie, World Tour specifically. But as an artist I wanted to mention this. I wish there were more biological differences between Pop and Rock trolls

As we know from World Tour there’s 6 main Tribes (I think they’re called Tribes anyway) being; Country, Classical, Funk, Techno, Rock and Pop, with smaller Troll groups inbetween. And to give the designers and artists their credit, you can very easily tell which trolls are which. But to see where I’m going with this, I made some simplified versions of each

Each troll has different features which make them different. Country Trolls are centaurs, Classical Trolls have their baby/cupid like designs, Funk Trolls are like giraffes with their long necks, Techno Trolls have very clear deep sea aquatic references,

But when it comes to Pop and Rock they don’t have many biological differences like the others; they’re both bipedal trolls with similar body structures. And since their design differences mostly lie their shapes and colours, I wanted to find a way to more differentiate Rock Trolls from Pop Trolls in my head

With my first design I wanted to include more devil imagery, but I ended up switching the horns to thinner ears as the horns were hidden in the hairs silhouette. My second design was more based off the depictions of the Rock Trolls in the Pop scrapbooks (references below). But I eventually landed on using more spider imagery with the third, having an extra set of arms. I also ended up scraping the tail idea as it’d probably look too clunky on the third design

The only thing that mattered to me in that trailer was Mario saying “I’m not afraid, I’ll do anything for my brother.” Their brotherhood is the only thing giving me hope for this movie-

The idea I had in mind is that they were magically transported to the Mario universe some how, where they ended up in the middle of a forest. They kind’a wandered for a while before finding the Mushroom kingdom. This was right after Peach was captured.

I was thinking that the toad people let them in to help them and later witnessed Mario using a fire flower. That’s when they knew these two were the hero's of legend and their quest began :0

Yes! They don’t have enough food to go around so they try to avoid waking anyone else up. That, and the fact that that Spy and Pyro don’t carry anything particularly useful to them. Nothing worth risking being seen by the camera at least.

In my AU at least, there is no Glamrock Ballora. Its just the main Glamrocks we’ve already seen. The original Ballora did exist though. :0

As for the tiger guy and mermaid gal? They are not in my AU either..

The plans I had for Luigi is that he dies to a Goomba. BUT WAIT HANG ON- THAT’S NOT FUNNY- The Goomba’s in my AU are real monsters. Luigi gets bitten by one and his entire leg gets shredded. Then the venom from the Goomba slowly makes Luigi rot from the inside out.

He rapidly begins to deteriorate over the span of a few days. Eventually he looses all his strength and is just laying on his death bed.

Mario is holding his hand and keeps telling him he’s going to be fine. Everything's gonna be okay, Luigi’s going to get better everything will be fine-

Luigi’s hand goes limp.

...

And then he gets revived by the 1-UP he had absorbed a couple of days ago. All better! :D

The 1-UP has to be consumed before dying. So it wouldn’t work if you just shoved it down their throats after they died-

Also it works instantaneously. It could be literally 5 seconds before they’re about to bleed out, as soon as the mushroom makes contact with them, their body absorbs it and its energy is fully prepared to be consumed.

OH MY GOSH I LOVE SPONGEBOB LITERALLY MY FAVORITE CHILDHOOD SHOW--

Bowser wants Peach’s land. Because it is healthy and fruitful. But he has never be able to take it because Daisy and Peach’s kingdoms stand together. Its 2 kingdoms against 1.

But somehow he managed to kidnap Peach. Not sure how he did it but this meant he had the upper hand. He threatened to harm or even kill Peach if they didn’t surrender their land to Bowser. 

Its right after this all starts that the Mario brothers show up and end up rescuing her.

When Foxy was reactivated he only went out of the basement for that first night. And Freddy guided him through blind spots in the cameras. 

After that first night Foxy never left the basement. Neither did Bonnie. So Vanessa never saw Foxy and doesn’t know they’ve both been reactivated.

Firstly i have to say i love how you draw the trolls,they look small and squishable and i love it ●♡● like i wanna hug and squish them but they look so tiny and fragile that i might suffocate them

But secondly, if you still dont have any idea on how to bring brozone in the picture for diamond!hype au you can either use the fact that kismet has never hit the perfect family harmany (probably bc they never tried) or the fact that maybe they all will think that only biological familys could hit it so they will go looking for the brothers

As to why the brothers would even help, i feel like floyd would probably agree no problem, as for clay and bruce if they saw how important hype is to branch they might agree, and john dory will either agree just to spend time with his brothers or will be guilt tripped into it or threatened.

(I would like to adress that im just giving ideas and nothing else, you dont need to use any of these)

As for the ideas, I appreciate them! I’ve had a couple ideas so far, none have been made official yet though. One of them was in fact that they use brozone’s help for the perfect family harmony because they don’t think they can do it themselves because they’re not blood related, but then realize that it doesn’t matter, because they’re family at heart, so they do the perfect family harmony themselves.

Another idea was that Branch ran into all of his brothers accidentally during World Tour, or just while they were travelling looking for kismet.

And then there’s just the idea that they don’t come into the story until after Hype is saved from the diamond

If I do go with the first idea, they would probably all agree if they see how important it is to branch (they also kind of owe it to him and see it as a way to start gaining his forgiveness. They also owe it a bit to Hype for taking care of their little brother for as long as he did)

These are all just brainstorm ideas, I don’t have a set story for brozone’s involvement yet, but if you guys do have ideas for them I’d love to hear them!
