"‘No,’ Em said, her voice steely. ‘Don’t think about Jefferson. Think about Matthew.’ ‘Matthew.’ I brought my mind back to the touch of his cool fingers against my skin, the rich sound of his voice, the sense of intense vitality when we were together. I picked up my foot.
It landed in the corner of the stillroom, where I was squashed behind an old barrel. ‘What if she gets lost?’ Matthew sounded tense. ‘How will we get her back?’ ‘We don’t have to worry about that,’ Sophie said, pointing in my direction. ‘She’s already here.’ Matthew whipped around and let out a ragged breath."
Trialling time walking is playing havoc with the vampires' nerves. He is pacing like a caged wolf (💥swagger💥). But all is well, Diana has got it sussed out. The trick is not to think about Jefferson apparently.
And for @dbrast, Myriam's "I can't believe this" look when Matthew tells Diana he knew she could do time travel, having fretted like mad a mere seconds before 🤣

‘"Thank you, Matthew. And thank you for bringing her home as well . We've been so worried." Em shook out her arms, bits of bark flying from the wool of her sweater. "You're welcome, Emily," he said, his voice irresistibly warm and rich. Em already looked charmed.’
This script by Bill Dial is one of the show's best and darkest. It's a very adult story where Rembrandt falls for a Kromagg collaborator (Valarie Pettiford) being hunted by MI5. It works because the lovers have great chemistry, and there are no trite explanations for what this woman did in the past. There's also no happy ending.
Quinn is MIA here due to injury, so Maggie and Remy carry the episode. Colin is mostly in the library, reading up on the history of this world.
Rembrandt tells his lady of many past adventures, recounting several previous episodes. He also talks about how jaded and directionless the travellers have become of late. Wade and the Professor are mentioned.
I've said many times that Season Four is the best season. Episodes like this are why.
