And SHI MEI is quite proud and even somewhat overbearing, using his charm as an omega and as a butterfly-boned beauty feast to attract and hold you — but he is not too proud to use his body and unique body structure, especially for alphas who are intoxicated by his smell, but very easily loses control when he sees that his control over you lost and you slip out of his hands like a fish in the water.

And counting on someone to disturb you is even more pointless.

I believe Cheating Men must die is a great story

It adds wonderful twists in existing tropes and genres. The protag isn't perfect but she's great, she likes eliminating assholes, which is valid

It's also interesting how Su Luxia doesn't have an identity issue since she lives under so many identities but I guess she's hardened for the job

For everyone who hasn't read Cheating Men Must Die (comic "Wan Zha Chao Huang" (万渣朝凰) by Shi Dai Man Wang (时代漫王)), this is an open invitation for y'all to read it. Genre: quick transmigration, revenge story. Basically your ex-cannon fodder MC, Su Luxia, is a System agent who transmigrates (isekais/ world hops) into the bodies of women of each world who are wronged by the Male Lead, Female Lead, another canon fodder, author, etc and changes their fate. I forgot how many chapters of the manhua there are presently but I believe the freshest ones that are still being updated in Mandarin Chinese are over 700+ chapters of art. (The MTL offers English translation, but y'all can also peep at other sites for ENG fantranslations.)

There are a couple of different summaries but I love this summary the best:

Don't you think that all cheating sc*m need to die? Su Luxia, an intern pro working in a transmigration agency, doesn't believe in that. For her, all cheating bastards need to rot in hell before they die. Or else they won't suffer the taste of their own medicine! Using elaborate means, she beats up countless cheating bastards and b*tches. Su Luxia sneers... "People take everything they get for granted. The more they get, the more they don't strive for it. An unrequited love is an example. There is always a sc*m who takes advantage. Since they brought this upon themselves..." She studies her face in the mirror and smirks, "... let them have a taste of their own medicine." System: "You're making that scary face again!" Follow our female main lead, Su Lüxia, who is bound to the Female Lead Counterattack System and transmigrates to several small worlds beating up countless sc*m.

Art bait for y'all who are still hesitating (and some of my favorite arcs, and those that'd surprised me like the arc where she transmigrated into the Second Male Lead):

RE: I have to agree! Ty for the Ask, @bernkastel11! I had a response ready for ya the day I saw this in my inbox and literally typed a long essay with links, but lo and behold tumblr ate it. 😭 But finally I have the motivation for a take 2. Honestly the manhua is a guilty pleasure of mine. The art's great (we definitely see the artist improve over time with each arc...even with the obviously borrowed assets and sometimes janky perspective, hahaha) and I love how Su Luxia is a badass femme fatale (white lotus & green tea b*tch), as well as her friendship with her cute talking hamster System. I also love how the artist is giving variety; it's not all just kicking butt, chewing bubble gum, finding romance. She's become an empress, made a friendship with the exorcist Female Lead, become a mother, led revolutions, survived a death game, became a guy, made a Male Lead yandere and obsess over her to the point of trying to hunt her down in whichever world it is, has some...questionable sapphic overtones, transmigrated into a BL novel, revisited some worlds with reoccurring characters, etc. They satirize a lot of preexisting tropes, and I love it when artists and writers have fun with the meta. I also like how they're slowly expanding on the lore of her interest with previous System agent Zero (the whole reason why Su Luxia became a System agent).

The thing about QTs in general is the artist or author usually don't put much emphasis on the consequences of transmigrating so many times into other people's bodies. It's just a staple of the genre (because they're usually portrayed as badass, cunning, and OP, what have you with a strong willpower to assume all these identities, overcome challenges, and not experience dysphoria). So far I think the only writer I can think of off the top of my head that addresses it is: The Exhausting Reality of Novel Transmigration (novel / manhwa). I highly rec it. So far it is one of the few works where they explore that concept of how mentally exhausting it is adopting another person's identity as well as the consequences of "the characters" finding out (it's not your usual "oh, you hopped into my dead daughter's body and assumed her identity? Well la de dah, guess you're my daughter now." No, we're talking about the mother suspecting, finding out, being horrified, and having a mental breakdown trying to exorcise "the evil spirit" who's taken possession of her daughter's body). It also touches on the danger of an ordinary woman transmigrating into the body of a Female Lead in an R18+ novel where the Male Lead is a yandere.

If Azula hadn't been molded into Ozais weapon at a young age what do think her ambitions would be?

This is actually a very hard question for me to answer tbh. I really don’t know because I think that ambitions are a combination of nature and nurture. They’re the product of many things; the interests of the people you look up to, having the chance to explore many different activities for yourself, how motivated/unmotivated you are, and so on.

The thing with Azula is that she was raised to fit the ideals of her Nation and Ozai. Part of me wants to say that her ambitions would be the same or similar (just with less feverance) because she’s still Fire Nation and still royal. So she’d still get the indoctrination. The reason Zuko grew to have different ambitions is because he was forced out of the Fire Nation and got almost 100% away from the indoctrination; he got to see the Fire Nation for what it is and as other nations do. Even if Ozai didn’t go the extra mile to mold her, the groundworks are still there for her to take on the same view points as he.

Another aspect is that she’s kind of naturally a perfectionist. I think that, at least to some degree, that is one thing that is part of her personality inherently. Of course Ozai pushed that to an unhealthy extreme. And even if he didn’t weaponize her I think that he would still push for perfection. And I feel as though perfection and ‘go hard or go home’ kind of go hand in hand to some degree. Now combine that with Fire Nation propaganda and Azula would still probably have the same ambitions.

Now let’s just say that she was taken away from Ozai’s molding and the propaganda. That’s when I feel like the differences would come in. However I still don’t really know what her ambitions would be. Because I don’t think that (in canon) she ever had a chance to explore and pursue her own interests. She just kind of went out and did what she was told to do. And her goal was Ozai’s goal. We never really even got hints as to what her other goals are.

I’m wanting to say that her ambition would be to maybe become the most powerful/renowned bender for the sake of learning bending and nothing else. However I feel like the reason she’s so gong ho about her bending is because it was part of that molding/weaponization.

So the following is mostly headcanon and speculation. I think that it could go one of a few ways;

1a. Even without Ozai’s influence (purely because she saw her blue fire and was proud of it) would still go for being an absolute firebending master; to learn every thing that there is about it and then go on to teach others. Perhaps she’d have an apprentice; someone who she tries to make a master as well as she to carry on the legacy. I think that this Azula would talk to the dragons.

1b. The dragons. I think that Azula would really really love dragons. I like to think that Ursa and Iroh read her stories about them and it was just love at first mention. She knows all about dragons, has a ludacrisly high wealth of knowledge about dragons. Some girls are horse girls, some are wolf girls, she is a dragon girl. She wants to learn from them and she wants to be a dragon rider.

2. Kuai ball. We saw in the beach that she was an excellent, albeit, overzealous player. I feel like Ozai, if he was a nice father would encourage her to do sports. Even with out his influence I can see her being fond of athletics. To me, this is another one of those personality traits that is inherent in her. She doesn’t just want to play Kuai ball, she wants to be renowned for it. She wants to be the best player. She’s still highly competitive and gets...over enthusiastic about victories.

3. Another trait that is inherent in her (imo) is wit and cunning. So I can see her maybe wanting to hoard knowledge. As much as she can about as many things as she can. She’d be one of those people who is always looking to learn something new and explore. I think that she’d start with the history and customs of her nation and then the others and then she’d branch out to stuff like astronomy, mathematics, linguistics, and so on. Being of high birth I would imagine that the palace has a library and many more learning tools. She absolutely loved school and loved learning as a kid and just never wanted to stop. I feel like she’d do lots of travel and would ultimately like to find Wan Shi Tong’s library.

4. Finally I can see her having no goals at all. Now this one is almost pure speculation. But part of me wants to say that without Ozai to push her she just wouldn’t really care to set goals. I think that Azula would be one extreme or the other; either very motivated and passionate (see above) or she would have no motivation at all like Shikamaru from Naruto. In this case she was born a royal with all of this potential and all of these expectations but she just doesn’t want that. She just wants to be a chill and ordinary person. And without Ozai to push and mold her that’s kind of just how it goes. Ozai focuses on his own goals and Zuko and Azula kind of just drifts on by chill’ and living her best life lol.

so i was thinking recently about the movie that must not be named and i was wondering: how much more would they have messed up if they continued with the sequels? here are my predictions bc i like to suffer.

season 2: they combine avatar state and avatar day. zuko alone is cut. somehow there's no appa going missing. wan shi tong only appears in the spirit world/avatar state combo. toph is here with ZERO character development. mai and ty lee are also hamfisted in. the earth king won't be hidden away, and he's just letting long feng manipulate him. oh yeah and zuko and iroh just show up inexplicably to ba sing se. and aang doesn't die at the end. zuko just runs away or smth or perhaps even joins the gaang early.

azula: she's not cunning or scary enough. no iconic lines. she can't even lightningbend. probably wearing something not suitable for war. can't even kill aang. kisses her dad's ass more than usual. probably gonna insinuate that she wasn't abused.

mai: the token east asian character of the whole group. gonna be really boring and say nothing. just stand there and look pretty. won't even smile. or they'll make her perky. will be pronounced "my" for "ethnic correctness," forgetting that everyone around her is definitely not ethnically correct.

ty lee: inexplicably white, reasoning is probably bc she has brown hair. either annoying or bland af. they'll fuck up qi blocking, and she's probably gonna be useless.

toph: also white despite the fact that her last name is beifong. still gonna keep her name as beifong. her parents are now also white, dressed in bastardized versions of chinese hanfu. for added racism they'll have bad chinese accents. toph herself will be blind, helpless, and whiny. no semblance of character growth, no semblance of her earthbending skills and no semblance of toph at all. which is why they'll pronounce her name as "toef," making it one syllable away from tofu. oh and she can't metalbend.

earth king kuei: asian, but he looks more like king george iii than emperor puyi. still has a queue just the wrong kind. is a fucking idiot. derps around until the (white) gaang save the day by kicking out long feng for him.

long feng: will look more like someone from 18th century england than 19th century china. is still the head of the dai li. still easily defeated by azula.

dai li: are able to run up walls. can't earthbend for shit

if kyoshi appears she'll be 5'5" and look about as terrifying as a kitten.

Sᴩᴇᴄɪᴇꜱ: Wan Kuei ( 万鬼 ), an amalgam of supernaturals like vampires, ghosts & wraiths. Loosely inspired by the Jiangshi myth. They feed on the energy of the living, which can be obtained from flesh, blood and, in some cases, even from breathing. While somewhat similar, they rot under sunlight instead of burning like vampires would and are unable to pass their curse forward or form blood-bond.

Pᴏᴛᴇɴᴄᴇ ( ●●●●● ●○○○○ ): this discipline defines the superior strength that Kindred possess. Allows them to leap great distances, lift massive weights and strike opponents with terrifying force.

Note¹: Almost at a Bodhisattva level on the modern nights, this sheet is loosely based on the sheets of Lucita de Aragón & Sascha Vykos. However, in the first centuries of his life, he only possessed Ghost Flame 2, Iron Mountain 2 and Potence 3.

Disclaimer: Conceptually I’m trying to add my own twits on White Wolf’s World of Darkness’ universe, in order to avoid any kind of problematic themes and contexts. I do acknowledge that, while seemingly innocent world-building for entertainment, the Kindred of the East supplement has a lot of problems, and I’ll do my best to avoid any kind of controversial inconsistencies.

PRELUDE

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ever since he can remember, Yu has always felt that people around him were prone to being weaker, sometimes mentally sometimes physically, sometimes in various aspects combined. This, in one way or another, was perhaps one of the reasons why the young man, in addition to nourishing a certain arrogance and distancing, also developed a strange sense of responsibility towards other people, even in a relatively simple peasant community ----------------- or at least that's how he remembers it. Right at his early years of living, social disparities and disregard for simple people from the lower classes began to arouse the fury of this already hot-blooded and short-tempered young man.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Thanks to his physical strength and willpower, it was not long before the young man was noticed by an important general who was on the rise at the time, looking for new strength and willing men to join the rebellion against those who held power ------------------ just to take power for himself. However, the beautiful words and a cause for which he was able to fight quickly ignited a flame in the young Yu's heart, causing him to quickly join the rebel forces against the empire. Proving to not only be a promising soldier, battle after battle, conflict after conflict, the young man was soon able to ascend to the prestigious position of a General, using his cunning on the battlefield and his strength to crush enemy forces without failing. His strength and performance on the battlefield quickly became a reason for both fear and fascination, granting him the nickname “Jade General”, who fought with all his soul’s power.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, the glory wouldn’t last as long as he expected and soon the general who first noticed him began to grow paranoid and to become a potential threat to his own allies. And one of them was young Yu himself, who was from time to time victim of attacks within the rebel forces. Still, due to his loyalty and even bluntness, he was unable to see the real reasons for these attacks, how could he have known his beauty, strength and charisma could be a problem for his superiors to ascend to power? Until finally the very general he trusted so much ended up handing him over to the imperial forces on a suicide mission, where Yu ended up being captured and tortured for days until finally meeting his first death. Little did any of his opposers that, instead of having him dead, this only caused him to accumulate too much resentful energy, and instead of going to the spiritual world, his souls actually got back to his body, making him reborn as a completely different creature a fallen warrior Wan Kuei.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At first, he rose from the pool of war cadavers like a ferocious corpse, devouring living creatures on the way, and after a few comings and goings, he was finally able to regain some consciousness just to realize that he had become the same monster his enemies feared so, having to run away from his own thirst for blood, even if he wanted to continue walking among mortals. He did try to go back to his family, but after the rebellion, his family was forced to either flee to a safer place or they were killed during the war; He was never able to find out which. After realising there was no chance of finding again them, Yu eventually gave up and sought for high priests and cultivators for help and little by little start to understand empirically the idea of becoming an actual living corpse and all its implications; Rotting under sunlight, the conjuration of chi-fueled magic. Things that no mortal would be able to do.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Weeks became months, months, became years, years became centuries in a blink of an eye, and since no answer was obtained he decided to move forward and to travel to other places for answers, only for Yu to realise he had awakened in a completely new world, full of creatures that only mortals would only dream about --------------. or rather, have nightmares about.

This place was a miserable house of memory. Thousands of years interred in Angelgard had rotted his mind, and he’d almost forgotten it. Bahamut had sealed him there, but there was no mercy, no clemency. All because he rebelled. Because he refused to simply roll over and accept his fate, to be eliminated. Vengeance had stirred in him for so long it replaced his blood, made him something resembling a man. A fossilized remain, all onyx and obsidian for bone and ashes in his blood. Corrupt, and purple as a neon poison.

He remembered this place before the Astral War. Before Bahamut had condemned his only son to a grim fate; one that left him here to test the True King’s Shield. His own descendant.

It had been a beautiful place when Lestallum was barely a scrap of a memory. A beautiful, expansive village that cascaded down the mountains like water. When Ca-dimirra had been the kingdom before, and Izdubar its king. He wondered if Bahamut ever regretted usurping his own son from the throne. A man so heartachingly noble that even now, it stirred with memory. What a word, memory. He wished he could hate them, but they were all he had left.

The Tempering Grounds were old, very old. Why did it still feel so achingly new, so dominantly wrong? This was not where Gilgamesh belonged. No, he was so filled with sunlight that Ardyn had thought him a nameless god of the sun. Those days; those tawny, good days that seemed so, so sweet. Even through the bitterness, he wished he could return. Was that why he was here? To find the sole light in his heart and see if he’d snuffed himself out?

Spirits retreated from him. They knew who he was, what a terror he’d been. They whispered of his returned, shied from the demon dogs that hounded his very heels, glowing and braying savagely. But, Ardyn did not care for them. They weren’t the ghosts his heart agonized to see.

The sunset was still beautiful from here, captured in the long behemoths of crystal ever frozen from the Astral Shard. But, distorted. Not so different from himself, was it? He’d been beautiful once. So full of promise that none would believe the corruption that would befall him.

This place remembered him, too. Despite being the first time he’d ever been there. Not since he’d sided with Ifrit and they’d rained their wroth upon the heavens. He could still taste the heat and sulfur of the meteor as it fell to Eos, reflected in his eyes in wonder and rage. Despite how he’d smiled his Cheshire smile, the last time he’d ever shine so brightly.

“I thought I might find you here, my old friend.”

He sounds duplicitous, like enticing one to sell their soul to him, for he was bedeviled and always had been. Even the Frostbearer had tried to free her lover from his snares and failed for it. Ardyn wished he could remain hard and devilish. He seated himself on a smooth buttress, crossing his ankle on his knee, leaning back against a gentle incline of craggy stone. Fedora unseated from his crown, Gilgamesh would be able to see the emotion present in his eyes.

No, he couldn’t be a devil. Even smirking, he couldn’t be so for the man he loved more than life itself.

Gilgamesh watched him with the same heartbroken stare Ardyn wore, had for centuries. The same they matched eons ago when he’d been strung up in darkness and left to die in the sunlight, bare for the demons to scream their wretched murder. And to think, he’d loved it so dearly once. Just as he’d loved the gods and his brother.

“Why are you here?” Izdubar asked in a low disbelief, still so far away. Was his former Shield truly so terrified of him? Oh, he was missing an arm?

Ardyn smiled mirthlessly. He didn’t know how to be cunning around Gilgamesh. Just as his eyes lost all malevolence. Uncrossing his ankle, the former king rested his elbows atop his kneecaps. Gods, it hurt. Of all the things that wretchedly stung him, why did it have to be this? “Can’t an old friend say hello?” he asked with an ambiguous humor, but he wasn’t smiling. “…I wanted you to stop me, Gil. I had hoped you might came at me raging for everything I’ve done to the Caelums, to the earth, and will do.”

It was sullen as a funerary shroud, the way he spoke. Heavy maroon bangs came over his eyes, making it difficult to see aught else but the wan stretch of his lips. He felt so old. So, so old. How tired he was of this life.

Gilgamesh took a step closer, though something iron planted his feet just strides before they might close in. “…The prophecy is underway. I have tested the Chosen’s Shield, and he has proven worthy. They sojourn ahead to fulfill it with the Oracle in Altissia, as it has been ordained,” Gilgamesh said slowly, automatically. Mechanical as the armor he wore.

Ardyn was up like a shot, tears burning in his eyes. “Enough of the fucking riddles!” he snarled acidly, hands balling into blanched fists. “Strike me down, Gil! Exactly as your father would’ve fucking wanted!” Sagging to his knees, Gods damn him! He couldn’t stay composed, let alone angry! No, his heart hurt too much, damn him!

“I can’t.” Gold eyes flickered to him with so much damn vulnerability, he felt like shaking. “You can’t ask me to.” Izdubar sounded so pained that it tore into him. Agony. So much damn agony! “Please—”

His fists unclenched. “Stop. You can’t— You can’t act as though I’m someone still worth saving, Gil.” His smile was bitter and watery, eyes shining. No one would ever see him like this again. Not after the end.

Nothing more was said when he felt a strong arm envelop him, Ardyn’s immediately circling around his former Shield’s waist and clinging to him like an anchor.

“I have fulfilled my duty. All I wish is for peace, my King. With you.”

They remained quiet for what felt like the longest of times. “With me?” Ardyn repeated after the longest of pauses. “Forever, Gil?” Whatever tears had started, no stopped. Instead, ink bled from miasma-black sclera, framing those eyes of inhuman gold. The last of the sunset dropped behind the horizon and they were blanketed in shadow save for the preternatural light of the Tempering Grounds.

“Forever,” Gilgamesh rasped, armor trembling as a nebulous darkness entered him, filled his veins. His shoulders shook, but he didn’t fight it. Instead, the Shield sank to his knees and clung to Ardyn while the Starscourge pooled in his veins, infecting him, making him one with his king.

“I love you, Gil.”

Voice becoming distorted, in a raspy growl did Gilgamesh utter, “As do I, my king.”

Super Star Academy Commento

Non ero a conoscenza dell'esistenza di questa serie fino a un paio di settimane fa, quando mi ci sono imbattuta per puro caso gironzolando su internet. Come i miei occhi sono caduti sulla locandina, mezzo secondo mi è bastato per riconoscere Xiao Zhan, così ho iniziato subito a vederla pensando: "Perché non sapevo nulla di questa serie???"

Pensavo di conoscere ogni singolo drama girato da XZ, ma YouTube mi ha sorpresa.

Beh, ora che l'ho finito mi dico che potevo anche continuare a non saperne nulla, perché questa serie è di una banalità e stupidità quasi imbarazzanti, tuttavia nel suo essere stupido e banale, è divertente. Non nascondo di essermi fatta varie risate nel corso della visione, ma nella seconda metà ho notato un calo di attenzione.

Non saprei spiegarmi il perché di questo. Negli ultimi tempi ho lasciato che il mio cervello si adagiasse su drama alquanto leggeri e spensierati, e credo che la cosa mi abbia resa un po' pigra, quindi la visione parallela di Chief of staff mi ha totalmente risvegliata rimettendo in funzione il mio cervello, e così Super Star Academy ha un po' smesso di essere così divertente e ha cominciato a darmi noia.

Ho anche cominciato a prestare meno attenzione ai sottotitoli (in inglese), e se non capivo qualcosa... sticazzi. Perché la trama di questa serie è talmente semplice, e spesso le cose sono rese in modo così stupido, che sapevo già dove si stava andando a parare.

La Super Star Academy è frequentata da ragazzi e ragazze ognuno con un potere diverso in base al loro segno zodiacale. La protagonista, apparentemente senza alcun potere (e questo già dice tutto), riesce per qualche motivo a entrare nella scuola, entrando subito in contatto con il lead, il ragazzo più bello, figo, ricco, e desiderato della scuola. Questi dovrebbe anche essere l'erede della famiglia Fang, ma a un certo punto il second lead ci dice che è lui il vero Leone della famiglia, e prepara vendetta. A completare il tutto abbiamo i membri della tredicesima costellazione del pianeta (un branco di idioti), che vogliono vendicarsi delle altre costellazioni che hanno cercato di sopprimerli anni prima, e conquistare il mondo.

Che cosa si può tirare fuori da una trama del genere se non una storia banale?

Partendo dalla protagonista, tralasciando il fatto che non ricordo assolutamente come caspiterina abbia fatto a entrare in quella scuola se sprovvista di poteri, in generale non mi è piaciuta. Per chi ha visto You Are Beautiful, questa è una Go Mi-nam 2.0, solo che Go Mi Nam almeno mi faceva ridere e mi stava simpatica, questa invece manco quello. Non dico che mi è stata antipatica, ma l'ho trovata un po' insipida.

Inoltre non può certo vincere per intelligenza. Basti pensare che mentre è inseguita da un cattivo, si volta e gli allunga la mano per aiutarlo a salire una collina, al che io non ho saputo se ridere o mettermi le mani nei capelli. Capite quando dico che questa serie è stupida?

Se la si guarda con questa mentalità accettando il suo stile, allora ce la si può godere, ma non bisogna assolutamente avere pretese.

Diciamo che va bene quando si ha voglia di qualcosa di leggero da guardare la sera, o come intermezzo tra drama più pesanti.

XZ è una gioia per gli occhi come sempre, anche se l'ho trovato un pochino messo da parte nella seconda metà della serie. La sua recitazione è buona (non può non esserlo), vanta sempre una bellissima espressività, ma ammetto che nulla è paragonabile a Wei Wuxian di The Untamed, un ruolo per cui si vede che ha fatto un lavoro incredibile.

Quello che mi è piaciuto del suo personaggio è che nonostante il suo status sociale, non si è mai presentato come il classico ragazzo ricco e viziato, antipatico e arrogante (stile Daoming Si di Meteor Garden diciamo), ma si è anzi mostrato un ragazzo tranquillo, semplice e alla mano, rivelandosi anche una vittima nelle mani della madre ambiziosa.

La storia d'amore tra i due lead è la più banale e semplice che abbia mai visto. Ogni loro scena insieme è stata un cliché. E non sono davvero riuscita a digerire l'espediente del destino come spiegazione dell'amore di lui:

"Ti ho salvata dieci anni fa perché fin dalla prima volta che ti ho visto ho capito che era destino."

Certo, perché tu, bambino di otto anni, vedi una bambina in pericolo e la salvi perché hai capito che sarà la donna della tua vita.

XZ, io ti voglio bene, ma questo non lo accetto. Credo che questo sia stato il punto più basso toccato dalla serie.

Si salvano però le bromance della serie, sia quella tra il protagonista e il suo migliore amico nonché Capitan Shipper Shen Hao, legati come fratelli (hanno praticamente celebrato un matrimonio tra bambini... CIOÈ, IO ADORO), sia quella tra Shen Hao e il suo più acerrimo nemico Li Ya Dang. Partiti come avversari che non riescono a stare nella stessa stanza senza guardarsi male, i due nel corso della storia si ritrovano ad aiutarsi, diventando prima complici, poi amici amanti.

Se questo non è amore:

Per quanto riguarda i due second lead, devo promuovere entrambi, e non me l'aspettavo.

Il second lead l'ho trovato molto umano nella sua voglia di vendetta, tanto arrabbiato da sfogare il suo risentimento anche su chi colpevole non è. Non sono riuscita a innamorarmi della bromance con XZ perché è arrivata tardi, ma il second lead si aggiudica il premio di eroe della serie.

La second lead era partita come la più grande psicopatica che abbia mai visto in un drama, ma mi ha stupita nel suo percorso di dolorosa accettazione, e sopratutto tanti complimenti a lei per aver continuato ad amare XZ anche quando si è scoperto che non era il vero erede della sua famiglia.

Parlando dei villain, questi li devo bocciare. A parte la banalità delle loro motivazioni, questi tizi sono messi in scena in un modo talmente idiota che è impossibile prenderli sul serio.

Promuovo invece, per pura bontà, la madre di XZ, anche se è logicamente davvero poco probabile che alla fine accetti il rifiuto del figlio di diventare l'erede della famiglia, ma d'altronde da questa serie non mi aspettavo altro.

Infine non posso non citare la competizione della scuola che accompagna buona parte della serie. Una parola: ridicola.

Un gruppo di concorrenti viene scelto per affrontare una serie di prove, la protagonista prega che non venga fatto il suo nome ma ovviamente viene scelta... in puro stile Harry Potter e il calice di fuoco.

E no comment anche sul finale della competizione, vinta dal protagonista perché i due second lead decidono di ritirarsi ti piace vincere facile.

Per non parlare dello scontro tra la protagonista e la second lead, che invece di fronteggiarsi in un classico combattimento si lanciano in una furiosa cat fight senza precedenti:
