hoo characters playing animal crossing
percy: he would be mostly focused on fishing and diving and would be the first to complete those sections of the museum. he would purposefully go for the ugliest/weirdest villagers just bc he thinks it's funny. he would not hit them or be mean to them tho he'd feel bad about that. his island is a mess, his pockets are constantly full and he's dropped trash and random items everywhere. annabeth comes over just to tidy it sometimes. she is also his sugar daddy in the game provides for him financially, she is the only reason he even has more than one room in his house. he has random fish tanks all over his island and half of it is decorated or organized but each area is only a little bit done bc he gets distracted. aka half laid paths that are mismatched. he only has decor items that he thinks are cool like the super expensive cars and boats. sometimes after visiting annabeths island he is inspired to make his nice, but that doesnt last long. his villager doesnt look like him, it has blue hair and he rotates through a few different blue or orange shirts
annabeth: her island is planned out down to the inch and has a nice overall theme, with beautifully planned areas. she's got an italian outdoor cafe outside her shops, and atlantis themed beach etc. she picks villagers based off if their houses match her aesthetic, it's a bonus if they're cute. she also def wouldn't abuse her villagers either that's not even an option. has bred all the flowers and is dominating the turnip market like no other. she's maxed out her bank account a long time ago and just chills supporting her and percy. also they send each other gifts and love letters in the mail all the time. annabeths villager looks like her and she has different outfits depending on what activity she is doing ie. terraforming, swimming, bug catching etc.
piper: her island is purely based on cutesy cottage core aesthetics. she only allows girl villagers on her island. she would torture the ugly guy ones that she was either forced to get or accidentally got there bc she forgot to island hop. she has also bred all the flowers. she sorts her villagers based on vibes and each little neighborhood area has a specific theme going with matching decor and flowers. she would use the og animal crossing paths that take up a dozen design slots. she changes her outfit every day but her villager looks like her for the most part. she makes a lot of her own designs for clothes too
leo: probably the most insane about the game tbh. he heard piper making an all girl villager island and out of spite made his an all guy island. he also would bully villagers, trapping them in fences, hitting them with nets all that. he and piper visit and send stuff to each other the most. his island is as disarrayed as percy's but much more chaotic. he just has random campfires, bonfires and torches everywhere its like walking through a mine field. he also works the turnip market a bit but just enough to afford his chaotic spending habits. his villager always wears that one flame shirt but the hair and skin change constantly. he LOVES pitfall seeds and everyone learns pretty quickly to not come to his island unless you want to be stuck in them the entire time. he learned how to make custom designs and uses it to put random signs all over with memes and random shit
jason: he was peer pressured into getting the game and hasn't made it very far. he's still in a tent and doesn’t even have bridges or inclines unlocked so he's trapped to one section of his island. he maybe has three villagers rn and their houses are all perfectly aligned with his own. he has a few pieces of decoration outside their houses and stuff but nothing coordinating, and only his native flowers. he visits leo and pipers islands and is amazed. mostly just enjoys running around with them and doing tasks. his villager maybe has a new tshirt but otherwise the generic jeans and pants from the start screen and looks identical to him
hazel: she gets all the cutesy villagers and gets very emotionally attached to them even if they're ugly and cannot be mean to them or let them go. her island is similar to pipers but not as overwhelming. it's got some flowers and some similar decor but she's just vibing and not putting much thought into it. she is the first to become best friends with all her villagers and gives them gifts every day without fail. usually the gifts are matching outfits. she also makes sure she talks to all ten of them every day. her villager also looks like her but changes her outfit to match the gift she gave her villagers that day. she makes cute custom fits and hangs them in able sisters
frank: his island is like perfectly gridded, every house and building is spaced evenly apart and all the pathways are the same brick. leo visits and is like "bro. you dont have to make ur island as rigid as the army" and frank didnt even realize he was making it that way until just then. he doesn't really care which villagers he has as long as they're cool and doesnt get attached. he has some decor but like, the bare minimum. he spends a lot of time catching bugs and is the first to finish that section of the museum. his villager looks like him and he never changes his fit
nico: he was forced to begin playing by will and at first did not care but then several weeks later when will asks to play again suddenly nico has put in nearly 1,000 hours and has surpassed will in everything. he is stupidly rich like annabeth but no one knows how or even wants to ask bc they know he didnt work the turnip market. he probably hacked the game or found a glitch or something. his villager looks like him and always wears the same all black outfit. his island is like a big maze and everyone always gets lost bc he does a ton of terraforming. he and will are the only people who can successfully navigate it. his house never has the lights on but its pretty nicely decorated. he is the first to finish the art section of the museum and has his favs displayed around his island
will: his island is choatic but cute. like, he decorates but there's not a lot of rhyme or reason to it. he gets villagers if they're funny and bonus points if they remind him of someone he knows irl. he HAS to change his outfit every day, sometimes he changes his hair style but otherwise it looks like him. pretty chill of a player like hazel and is just happy to be there and play with his bf. he likes fishing and catching bugs. also gets high friendship levels with his villagers via gifts and would never bully any of them but isnt afraid to kick them off if they're ugly
reyna: like jason she also was forced to get the game, and like nico, doesn't care at first. but then secretly she puts in a lot of hours. like months later jason visits her island and they're like "oh shit i didn't even know you still played." her island is neatly organized, but in a mix between annabeth's and franks. it has a cohesive aesthetic but is pretty orderly. she plotted out which ten villagers she wanted before she started playing and once she gets those ten she's done searching. she made sure she had 1 of each personality type and everything. she works the turnip market but not obsessively and she has a few flower types bred but not the whole collection. there is no extra flowers or trash or any dropped items laying around and definitely no weeds. she has a daily checklist of tasks she goes through each time she plays. her villager looks like her and she probably doesnt change her fit much

ok, listen. i will gladly hivemind about many things, but one of the things i will never hivemind about is mcc
i am way too invested in that block game tournament to not have my own opinions, and trust me i have a Lot of opinions after sapnaps stream
(this will be very long, feel free to ignore. also, this is all typed up on mobile so i am so sorry)
the most prominent things is when he said he thinks he should be an s-tier, and when he said he thinks cyan is the best team
1. i dont think sapnap is an s-tier. god forbid i post this on twitter where everyone thinks he should be, but genuinely i dont. he is definitely the closest non s tier player to s tier, but i dont think hes s tier yet. i dont have stats on hand (bc im not a Nerd /j), but comparatively, sapnap isnt as good. hes one of the best pvpers and parkour players, yes. but hes pretty weak in build mart, rocket spleef and bingo, and hes decent at ace race and hole in the wall. a question we have to ask ourselves when ranking sapnap, is he at the same level as the other s-tiers? is he as good as pete, quig, fruit, techno, and dream? so far, all current s-tiers have: won at least 1 mcc, had 1st individual at least once and have 3000+ average coins. sapnap has only achieved the first. another thing is that sapnap isnt balance the way an s-tier is balanced. most notably, pete, fruit and quig are all balanced with weaker teams. pete and fruit are commonly teamed with hermits, when not with hermits pete is with b tiers or below, and quig is usually put on for fun teams (techno hasnt played in a canon mcc in a while so i cant rly say how hes balanced nowadays). sapnap isnt balanced this way, he isnt put on weaker teams. if anything, hes put on teams where someone else helps take up a leader role. mcc15, he'll most likely co-lead with dream, mcc14 he had punz, mcc13 he had dave krtzyy, (i dont remember his mcc12 team), mcc11 he had dream, etc.
so sapnap hasn't gotten 1st individual or 3000+ average coins, and scott doesnt balance him the way he balances the other s-tiers therefore i dont think sapnap is an s-tier. however, if he continues improving the way he is now, i believe he will be s-tier eventually. dont say that i'm too hard on him and that my requirements are too harsh because i'm a firm believer that once a player is s-tier, they dont leave (unless they just fuck up that bad, in multiple consecutive mccs)
2. i think sapnaps prediction of cyan being 1st is wrong. first of all, theres a reason why nearly the entire subreddit predicts cyan to be lower on the leaderboard, and its not because the subreddit is biased or playing an elaborate prank. i think both sapnap and dream really overestimate cyans abilities, especially with 2 new players. both dream and sapnap agreed that wisp is cracked, 5up is cracked, antfrost isnt bad, and scott is decent. the stats kind of do tell a different story though. again, i dont have the stats on hand, i only have what i remember from posts ive seen on the subreddit so take what i say here with a grain of salt. i dont think wisp is as cracked as dreamnap think he is. wisp has only played in (iirc, and if the subreddit was correct) 3 events, and his first 2 were very average with his mcc14 performance being the outlier. another thing is that they have two new players. that is not going to be easy. when you look at new players that joined after mcc began getting more competitive, youll see that they always underperform during their debut mcc. take illumina, for example. illumina is one of the best speedrunners in minecraft. he spent hours practicing and studying vods to optimize his performance. iirc, his first mcc he got 17th. that is already impressive, especially for a debut but his next placement was 5th. that is a huge improvement. 5up and antfrost are no illuminas, they dont have the same skill that he does. if illumina couldnt get top 15 during his debut, there is no way 5up and antfrost will during theirs like dream and sapnap predicted they would. the last thing i wanted to say about this is that 5up can practice all he wants on the practice server. he can get himself acquainted with ace race mechanics and the environment of battle box and parkour tag, but the practice server =/= the real event. no amount of time on the practice server can prepare new players to the atmosphere and pressure of the real event
thats my rant over, thank you if you stuck around. also really sorry if you stuck around, i doubt my thoughts were very coherent as its 4:30am. but yeah, i just wanted to get my thoughts out because sapnap and dream discussing mcc predictions made me very frustrated. especially since their predictions were all based on their initial thoughts on the teams and absolutely zero statistical analysis. absolute himbos, the two of them /lh

Okay, you know how I said I wanted to watch all these german minecraft series and then watch 3rd Life SMP? Yea, I actually dont have the attention span to watch a bunch of white bread boys fuck around in minecraft with little to no story, regardless of wether theyre american or european so Im just gonna write this post and them start watching 3rd Life SMP so yeah.
First, I kinda want to discuss what Im hoping for on like, a meta-level I guess. The only other minecraft RP Ive watched that seems similar to this is Dream SMP so expect lots of comparisons.
I like to split dsmp into three major parts: no story/non-rp, story/non-rp and story/rp.
The first part was literally just a live streamed vanilla minecraft let's play and it was boring as shit. It felt exactly like watching a bunch of dudes play minecraft and unless they acknowledged the people in their donations (who could uncomfortably pushy and even shippy at times) you did not at all get the impression they were even aware of the stream. And as much as I appreciate some level of authenticity in this type of content, I also expect to be entertained by it and this did not even meet my bare minimum standard of entertainment. Admittedly, my attention span is very low so that definitely has something to do with it, but still. I personally have never felt anything but boredom and occasionally intense discomfort while watching anything from this 'era' of dsmp.
The second part was the start of the first conflict, and thus the start of some semblance of a story. They were kind of 'roleplaying' already (both in the sense that they obviously have their personas for their content and in sense that they didnt actually have grievances with one another and were just playing it up for the sake of entertainment) but it was more on the fly, even less focused and less serious. However, it was already legues more fun to watch.
And then we had the third part, where, starting with Wilbur Soot joining and deciding to larp Hamilton, they started to plan things out more and have more complex and/or dramatic conflicts. Needless to say, this was/is the best part in my opinion and what made me see the appeal of dsmp.
What Im hoping for 3rd Life SMP is, that they skip atleast the first part. From what I can tell, it was created sometime after dsmp has been in that third part for a bit and it is a minecraft rp, so Im assuming the people behind it wanted to do something similar, just with the story aspect there on purpose and from the get-go, if you know what I mean. And by the way, I dont think thats wrong or even "copying" in the slightest. Dsmp very much seems like a case of "they did it first, not best" and if anything, I think it would be a shame if people didn't want to do their own spin on this basic concept.
What Im personally hoping for in terms of the 'style' of roleplay itself, I really hope that they dont seperate it as rigidly into lore and non-lore as they did in dsmp. Ideally, they would do it like Ranboo (Wilbur when he was playing Ghostbur to an extend too, but he didnt actually stream and have his own POV back then), where he's always kinda 'In-Character' even when there isnt really anything happening in the plot at that moment. Again, I just dont have the attention span for no story in series like this anymore, so I'd appreciate it on a personal level, but I also think that it could humanize the characters more and potentially add additional depth to them. Especially since it looks like 3rd Life is made by the Hermitcraft group and if the stuff Ive read about Hermitcraft (especially in comparison to dsmp) it wont thrive off intense conflicts and wars in quite the same way, so that could also be a way of making a calmer rp interesting.
And now, some actual plot predictions!
So, the way I found 3rd Life SMP was this really neat 'Pitiful Children' animatic by ZylisticArt. I didnt actually 'watch' it because when I look up animatics I just kinda stare at the screen, not processing anything because Im too busy imagining my own OC animatic to the song, but I did read the description and was mildly intrigued, and its the main reason I wanted to watch 3rd Life so Im going to properly watch it now and post my predictions for the plot below.
***
The description mentions something about the animatic being based on some kinda theory, but I only skimmed it in order to not get spoiled so idk what thats really about. Im mostly intrigued by the fact that the description mentions it being a hardcore SMP (with a twist!), that, combined with the name and the visuals of the animatkc lead me to a couple conclusions;
I dont really know how Hardcore mode works in multiplayer, but in singleplayer you just get permanently kicked out of your world when you die, so Im assuming it works like that on a server too, except on a server, Im pretty sure you have the option of being 'reinvited' onto a server by the admin(s) so you could theoretically have three lives while keeping it a hardcore project where you cant regenerate without potions or golden apples and all that. Again, idk if thats actually how hardcore works but I sure hope it is, because thats what Im basing pretty much all of my predictions on.
In the animatic there were like green people, yellow people and a red guy who was like, the antagonist I guess. I think the green guys still have all their lives, the yellow ones are down to two and the red lads are all down to their last one. Maybe theres gonna be a thing thats like, if you lose a life you lose a part of your soul and that makes you evil or something? Yknow, like the whole "character comes back wrong" thing, except its the conflict of the entire series. Pitiful Children is very much a 'Manipulating Others Into Doing Harmful Shit' kinda song, and I feel like that would be very in-line with a plotline like that, yknow?
Im not expecting there to be wars/conflicts on the scale of dsmp (no blown up countries here bois) but I am expecting to get ridiculously attached to a place that inevitably gets blown up/set on fire by an antagonist.
Speaking of antagonists, theyre definitely also doing the whole multiple POV thing, which means everyone is an antagonist in one way or another and Im a solutely watching every POV from every characters so that I know the full context and story of everything, so I can have the most correct opinions on them, which is both normal to want and possible to achieve.
Since these are the Hermitcraft guys Im expecting some beautiful builds that make me feel insanely untalented and the same thing with redstone shit.
Ghosts. If they havent added some kind of ghost mechanic/lore at the time Im writing this, they will add one in later, mark my words 3rd Life fandom, mark my words...
Thats pretty much it. This is all going under my mcyt tag too, and I dont think I'll be live blogging it, but it really depends on how interesting it is.
Also, if youre a 3rd Life fan who already watched all of it, the only thing youre allowed to respond to this with is a meme that is horribly incomprehensible to anyone who hasnt watched it.
Have a nice day!

I would like to formally request a post about the twitch chat as a Shakespearean third person omniscient audience, please and thank you
asdf I wasnt expecting to make this post immediately but like... the validation... so here lets do this;
I realize my original post was poorly worded so let me clarify, the third person omniscient audience is a facet of all tragedies, not just shakespearean. In Classical Greek tragedies this took the form of the chorus, a sort of faceless ensemble that would acted as a middleman for the fourth wall, both interacting with the characters on stage and singing to the audience, telling them what would happen to the characters. Shakespeare’s work may also contain a chorus, most notably the prologue of Romeo and Juliet is read by the chorus, but the main way the audience recieves this omniscience in his plays is from characters’ soliloquies. The character will basically put the play on pause and talk to themselves, discussing their thoughts, feelings and plans with only the audience to hear. And if you think abt it that’s basically what talking to your twitch chat is. When Wilbur or Techno or Tommy or ANYONE mutes their discord mic and starts talking to their chat directly, thats a soliloquy babey!  And it sounds silly to compare goofy Minecraft lets plays to Shakespeare, but whether they realize it or not thats what theyre doing. And the goofy Minecraft lets players take it one step further, because the audience can talk back. Because live streams are an interactive medium, the fourth wall is very loose in the dream smp. Techno threads the needle on this with the introduction of his voices, taking his chat behind the fourth wall and making them a part of the plot, but for others they just roll with it and incorporate the audience into the story as-is, which I think is just as if not more interesting! It’s almost a combination of the soliloquy and the concept of the greek chorus, between being an observer and an active part of the story. When wilbur is in the button room debating whether or not to blow it all up, his chat is cheering him on or yelling at him to stop and he acknowledges them. he argues with them, in fact! Tommy being somewhere high up and the chat going “DO A FLIP” is another, albeit more lighthearted, example, but I find it interesting that you can track his character’s mental state by whether he’s staring pensively at the lava or snarking at his chat for the dumb joke.
I think you can debate whether or not the audience for the dream smp is “omniscient”. We dont know exactly how the story will end at any given time. I especially had NO clue where season 2 was going right up until the end. But in some ways we do know what will happen when characters tell us what they’re going to do. As much as I like to rag on techno for his whole “bluh I told you guys I was an anarchist” from a character perspective, from a tragedy perspective he told the audience exactly what was going to happen. Same with wilbur and his stupid Chekov’s gun references, even if the characters couldn't see the signs, we the audience can. and Its the same thing with stuff like Ranboo’s memories and journals, or Karl’s time traveling. We the audience know more than the characters involved, and to bring it back to Hitchcock, knowing something bad is going to happen ramps up the tension for us in the story. the one downside of this is the attempts at meta gaming when the chat will try to warn their streamer of choice abt whats happening, but I cant fault the chat itself or any specific audience members for that. Its a downside of the medium, if you introduce the concept of audience interaction into your story you have to live with the risk that the audience may not do exactly what you want. Its a part of what makes it unique and these streams are all improv-heavy anyway, so the storytellers have to roll with the punches.
so...yeah. thank u for indulging my nonsense.

I HC that big Vee still likes to be put to bed. Not like bedtime story etc, but occasionally he will go to one of the CGs (or even Ro sometimes) and be like "im heading to bed" very deliberately, trying to get someone to come with him, or he'll curl up on the couch and start someone off on a long speech about something, just so he can fall asleep and its like he isn't alone, but he doesn't quite realize that being babied to sleep when he's little is the reason till one of the cgs points it out
I have been thinking about this All Day while i packed so i have a lot of things to say abt this - this is a VERY long post so be prepared shhshs
firstly: ADORABLE THANK U
i rlly do think this is in character! because adult virge actually has a lot of trouble with sleep - he has nightmares most nights and we've obviously established that he wets the bed a lot. both of these things tend to wake him up only a few hours into the night and he's not always willing to sleep again afterwards (to avoid nightmares and wet sheets)
on top of that he (used to) struggle with getting himself to bed on time, he would stay up into the early hours indulging in special interests, stimming where he hid it during the day, or being little (when it was still hidden from everyone) and this has all messed up his body clock quite a lot so some nights he just can't get himself to sleep - this is why he's so sleepy during the days
Also i think he just likes being around people, it calms his anxiety because he doesnt worry about whether anyone is hurt or anything because he can see/feel them around him - so im sure after so many nights being babied to sleep by his CGs and getting so used to having someone with him to fall asleep he subconsciously seeks it out when he's big
also while we are on the subject, adult virgil has a very specific bedtime routine! this is me projecting again but he NEEDS to do every part of it otherwise he feels really stressed and upset and gets anxious and that makes it even harder to sleep - his routine is calling roman a nickname until roman calls him one back, saying 'Night L' to which logan has to reply 'Good night, Virgil.' (if logan replies differently virgil keeps subtly trying to postpone bedtime and repeating 'night L' until logan says it exactly right), and having a hug with patton - patton is the most reliable because every time without a doubt he sways them side to side, squeezes virgils shoulders, kisses his head and whispers 'i love you stormcloud' and virgil always replies 'love you dad' while avoiding his eyes. This routine has been in place since before the regression is revealed i think
ugh the fact that virgil finishes everyday by hugging patton is so cute already but also i said that he also starts off everyday by hugging patton too and thats just ADORABLE
now with actually asking for people to put him to bed, it will be different with each person:
with logan, as you suggested, i think he would get logan to talk about something academic that interests him or maybe even - much more rarely - shyly ask logan if he could read the book in his hands out loud. Logan of course understands that virgil does these things when he's getting tired and is happy to do so to help virgil relax before bed. It helps him relax too
with patton virgil is the most obvious - he knows theres no point hiding it from him and he just outright asks if patton can please help him fall asleep. though I think he would actually be most reluctant to seek out patton, ironically, merely because he knows that patton picks up on it and has no qualms with pointing out that virgil clearly loves bedtime and 'of course i can tuck you in kiddo! Do you want me to stroke your hair? Do you want your paci? Shall i sing to you sweetie?'
So virgil mainly kind of avoids getting patton to put him to bed when he's grownup because pattons instinct is to just treat him like a baby - which virgil appreciates of course but some nights he actually wants to stay big and its kind of impossible to do that when patton is humming a lullaby and rocking virgil in his lap
with roman its a very different story - virgil will only ever seek roman out if both CGs are already in bed, which brings me onto a HC that I've been meaning to tell you guys about for WEEKS:
roman and virgil often have 'sleepovers' - theyre really just all-nighters where both of them have trouble sleeping and instead of suffer alone they go into romans room and chill together for the night
they keep this a secret from the CGs mainly because they're sure patton and logan would both have something to say about the fact that at least once a week virgil and roman completey forego sleep and instead eat snacks and watch disney and play video games and shove pillows into their faces to try not to wake the others with their sleep deprived laughter
but also? its just become special to them and they want to keep it as Their Thing
you see virgil isnt the only one who struggles with sleeping - roman tends to stay up very late working on creative projects (even if the CGs put him to bed he will usually get up again because he cant get his brain to switch off) and he won't admit it, at least not for a while, but he actually has a slight fear of sleep
the fact that you are unaware of what goes on around you and are not in control of your body or mind while you are unconscious just doesn't sit right with roman, if he thinks about it too hard he starts freaking out and purposefully avoids sleeping - thought he doesnt tend to think about it too much, he's learned to ignore these thoughts since when he was a teen they led to a pretty bad case of insomnia
so vee and ro tend to be awake late at night and often one will text 'you up?' and within a minute virgil will be sneaking into roman's room to keep each other company
this is where i think most of their adult brotherly bonding happens, its quiet since they dont want to wake up pat or lo and it's a calm atmosphere because of roman's constellation nightlight and the whole vibe of it just makes them a lot more open and soft with each other
they tend to end up talking about Big Life Things on most nights
as they play minecraft one night virgil opens up about his internalised ableism and how no matter how much everyone assures him its okay to need extra help he still feels awful about it and roman doesn't say much, he just listens, but when he notices virgil getting choked up at one point he pauses the game and silently pushes his teddy bear aladdin into virgils hands and pulls him in with one arm to lean against his shoulder
another night they are lying on romans bed, side by side but with some distance between them, and staring up at the projected constellations, talking about how cool it is that logan and patton take care of them and roman blurts out that sometimes he feels a bit scared of logan and thinks he will tell him off for being stupid and force him not to be virgils brother anymore because he cant be trusted.
they dont look at each other, they keep staring at the stars as roman rambles, supplemented by lots of sarcastic comments and jokes and nervous laughter to hide the fact that his voice is shaking. And again, virgil doesnt say much, he doesnt interrupt roman and they both know that they feel comfy opening up to each other on these nights because theres a silent agreement that they dont discuss it, it's just a venting session, no advice or sympathy please.
but virgil does shuffle closer on the bed and presses their shoulders together, and he does take romans hand gently when roman starts picking at his nails
so yeah.. virgil seeks the CGs out when he wants to sleep, but its not so bad when he can't sleep either because he'll aways have roman too
