#where death goes from person to person and the episode is a celebration of life as much as it’s life’s end
Text
Obsessed with authors like Naomi Novik whose books always seem to say “no, fuck that, there is another way than cruelty, and we do have a choice to be decent, and not choosing it isn’t a burden but a cop out.”
Authors like Neil Gaiman whose books seem to say “we are all simply human, and that is so valuable. This world is worth more because we are in it, when we choose to notice and care”
Authors like Brandon Sanderson whose books say “We are all a little broken, and there is strength in not turning away from us, and there is pain in healing but there is also strength and hope.”
Seriously, these folks do more for my faith and hope in this life than any religion ever has. I don’t have the words to describe it yet but just. Warm cup of apple cider held close to the chest on cold autumn night?? That’s the best I got

how abt a family Ror story where their child(reader) is ai hoshino?
In case you don't know who ai hoshino is; she's a teen idol, actress, and model from the anime "Oshi No Ko" that lives in a life full of lies by pretending she loves her fans and belives that lies were a form of love and saw it as a way rk express her love to her fans. But she becomes pregnant and decides to go on a hiatus to save her reputation and gives birth to twins, and after giving birth she continues with her career and becomes more famous later on. But in the end, ai's/reader's lies catches up to her and leads to her death by one of her fans(which was a stalker that found out her secret kids) going to her home and killing reader with a knife.
This is just a short summary that I hope you understand since the anime goes much more deeper if you haven't seen it.
But I wanna see how the family like helps out the reader with her idol career and her twins, as well as how they go through the readers death if you wanna add that! :))
I haven’t watched this series, but I heard how dark the first episode was where she dies in front of her babies- that sound super harsh!
-It was an accident, the one-night stand that led to you being pregnant, despite being a teenager. You felt ashamed when you found out, and you felt scared about what your family was going to think once they found out.
-They supported your dream of becoming an idol, becoming your first fans, and even if nobody else came to one of your concerts, they would always be there for you.
-You became popular over time, slowly rising in popularity until a video of you went viral and you became super popular.
-Your family still supported you, but wanted you to be safe, so you always had a chaperone, as you were still under aged.
-It was one wild night that you managed to sneak away to have some fun, unaware of what was going to become of that fun with one of your fans.
-Your family was upset when they found out, not because you went and had fun, but because you were scared to come to them- despite this new step in your life, they still loved you and still supported you, even if your idol career was over.
-You wanted to become a mother and they supported you when you gave your final concert, a farewell to your fans before you started to show, telling them that you were quitting due to personal reasons.
-Many of your fans were upset, not wanting to lose you, but for the most part they all supported you, giving you words of encouragement if you ever decided to come back.
-Your family was by your side from there on out, helping you with morning sickness, cravings, going to your appointments with you, and helping when you wound up bed bound during your last trimester, due to your petite size.
-You welcomed your babies, a boy and a girl, twins- which was surprising to everyone as all the scans ever showed was one baby, but you were overjoyed, and your family instantly were whipped for your twins.
-It was trial and error on your part, learning how to be a good parent, luckily you had a lot of people on your side who offered you different strategies, viewpoints, and advice, and your family was impressed, you took to being a parent with ease, once you had a rhythm down.
-It was a year later, on your twins’ first birthday, you had worked hard making a beautiful birthday party for them, with help from your family who helped you and your babies celebrate when a knock came to the door.
-You went to answer it, thinking it was the caterer, as you had ordered a sandwich platter as there were so many people at the house and it would be easy to clean up.
-Before you was not the caterer, but a fan, one of your first fans that was not a part of your family, seeing you in an apron, your bright smile falling into one of confusion.
-You only saw the knife as it was coming towards you, your shriek of fear filling the house before your family ran to your aid, seeing your fan had stabbed you in the stomach, crying heavily like this was hurting him and not the other way around, “I can’t believe this is the reason you left! You became a mother?!”
-Leonidas showed no mercy, kicking the boy away from you hard as Odin quickly held you in his arms, his magic trying to slow the blood flow from the wound.
-Blood was coming from your mouth and tears from your eyes from the pain and fear as you heard your family yelling, calling paramedics and police, yelling at the boy who stabbed you, and your babies were crying. But everything sounded so far away and was slowly fading, your vision going dark.
-You were their light, snuffed out too soon, as you died in Odin’s arms, the wound too severe to do anything before paramedics arrived.
-Your family felt broken, in shock, seeing that you were gone, taken from them so cruelly.
-The fan was arrested and thanks to security cameras, he was put away for life, everyone knew his name for the one that killed you, and with it, everyone found out that you had been pregnant and had twins.
-Many fans tried to say they were the father, wanting fame, but you were the sole parent, and you had, just in case, prepared if anything ever happened to you, that your family would become the guardians of your babies and that your babies, once they were old enough to make their own decisions, could consent to a paternity test, but until then, the decision was left to your family who had no hesitation in giving these glory hounds the boot.
-Your fame skyrocketed more after your death, after everyone learned that you became a mother, and how you were killed by a fan who wanted you to be an idol once more.
-Your family kept your babies out of the limelight, and did their best to do the same, not wanting to expose them to the fame of being your children.
-Your family was guarded and protective of your babies, not wanting to risk losing them too, they wouldn’t allow it.

a few more possible episode ideas for another show.
its Floyd's Birthday and the brothers are all excited to plan a big surprise party for him JD Bruce and Clay all excitedly decorate the place with stuff they know Floyd likes and talk about their personalised gifts for him.
meanwhile Branch's excited smile slowly fades as he realises he doesn't actually remember anything that Floyd liked or any of the other bros due to being too young when they left.
anyway long story short at Floyd's party after he acts grateful to the others for their gifts and ideas Branch gets embarrassed since he didn't even know where to start and he leaves the party.
Floyd goes after Branch to talk on their own and when Branch tells him what's up and that he somewhat feels like a stranger in his own family due to how young he was when they left.
so he doesn't really remember anything specific about them but Floyd light-heartedly lets him in on a secret that he actually doesn't like any of that stuff anymore.
he just didn't say anything cause he didn't wanna hurt his brothers feelings and ruin the moment when really he's just happy that he's celebrating this birthday with them all back together.
but the simple fact is the things his brothers are all remembering are from over 20+ years ago when he was a young teenager he's changed almost completely since then.
and so have the rest of them except for JD lol but with all the others they've all been slowly realising that they aren't the same people who they last saw when they were teenagers.
and there's been plenty of trial and error Branch just hasn't noticed it so their all fairly new to each other due to their time apart.
but that isn't ever gonna change unless they take the time to get to know each other in the present.
so they both agree to go back to the party and make more of an effort.
2. another one is where Branch ends up hearing maybe from these bird creatures he talks to where he kinda has a long wide communication network set up all in the name of safety of course.
and one of his Bird contacts tells him that they talked to another creature that witnessed Chef's death at the end of the first film.
since ya know the last time our main characters saw her she was tumbling down the hill with her butt stuck in the cooker while on fire so they didn't actually see her get eaten like we the audience did.
so they assumed she was likely still alive all this time up until now anyway the news of her confirmed death makes Branch go around the village in a very joyous mood.
singing for no reason handing out snacks to random people and just being very cheery Poppy tries to ask him if he wants to talk about anything but Branch says what would he want to talk about?
he's happier than he's ever been anyway Poppy tells his brothers behind his back that she's worried about him but they don't really see it and think he's just reasonably happy over finding out a crappy person got their just desserts.
anyway Branch goes even more over the top in his happy shenanigans saying they should all throw a big party in the village to celebrate with a giant banner reading
"" ding dong the witch is dead ""
anyway despite poppy being even more worried and all of the brothers actually starting to feel a little worried as well except for JD who thinks the parties a great idea. 😂😂😂😂
the big party goes ahead and Branch gets pretty wasted ( on sugar ) and gets up onto stage to make a big speech with Poppy very nervously trying to talk him down since he's clearly crashing.
but Branch after saying a few things that makes everyone uncomfortable stops and thinks to himself and then kinda takes a deep breath and speaks more from the heart.
he says that he spent practically all of his life afraid and hurt and even as he got better he always thought that certain things would fix him or make him feel more whole.
but despite Chef being dead and even despite them all being at peace with the Bergens now he still feels just as afraid as he used to and he still feels the pain he's lived with his whole life.
he thought knowing she was gone would kinda close the book on that part of his life and wrap it all up in a neat little bow and allow him to finally move on completely.
but he just felt the exact same as he always has done and he kinda went into denial over it trying to convince himself everything was better for him now.
3. this one was inspired by an idea j-ad1 had in the comments section of one of my Gary posts anyway the plot is that.
the Bros get annoyed/kinda wierded out by how Branch takes Gary with him everywhere and is constantly smugly chattering on and on about the things Gary can do to the point the Bros find it very annoying and also kinda weird.
so they take Gary in the middle of the night and maybe try to play it off as some kinda animal that broke into the Bunker and dragged him away or something.
their hoping that even if Branch will be a little annoyed at first he'll quickly get over it and kinda cure him of his weird obsession with an inanimate object.
only for Branch to begin an obsessive search for Gary to the point he becomes even more unhinged and eventually even breaks down over it which his bros didn't expect they just sorta thought he'd be a little annoyed that he was lost but then he'd get over it and move on.
so it actually surprises them to see him so genuinely upset over Gary's absence and maybe his brothers even ask why it means so much to him and he finally tells them about how Gary was what comforted him during the years he spent hiding away.
when he had no one else and he made him feel safe whenever he was afraid which knowing Branch was nearly every single day given how paranoid he was over the Bergens finding them.
and it made him feel like he did have some sorta family around him back when he had no one and that yeah he knows some people think its kinda weird.
despite his rep as the village's crazy person he isn't actually entirely oblivious to how it looks.
anyway to end the episode I'd have Bro zone realise they were wrong and they go to retrieve Gary from the place they Dumped him only to realise he actually has been taken by a pack of animals this time.
and they actually have to go to a bit of effort retrieving him from the pack of animals getting themselves a bit torn up in the process and in the end they give Gary back to Branch and he's so grateful that they got him back which makes the bros feel pretty bad.
and they fess up to what they did and apologise with maybe the episode ending on a bit of a comedic note of them promising to do whatever it takes to make it up to Branch.
and it ends with him making them do really hard chores around his Bunker while Gary watches on in a chair with a nice little drink to his side. 😂😂😂😂

In celebration of the Animaniacs reboot’s THIRD season coming out soon…
I’m going to list a few things I think the second season of the reboot does better than the first. Here we go:
1. It gave Nora some much needed development. She gets more screen time in general this season, and because of that her character is more fleshed out now. We find out she's a mother and despite the fact that she had previously been established as selfish in season 1, she buys her daughter whatever she wants to compensate for her lack of parenting skills. That doesn't necessarily make her a good mother, but she's clearly trying.
Tumblr media
We also find out the reason why Nora's a competitive person and why she mostly only looks out for herself-her upbringing. We're shown that her sisters often belittle and mock her. Not only that but her sisters are twins, so Nora undoubtedly felt like the odd one out amongst her siblings all her life.
Tumblr media
There's also her great grandmother Flora Dora, who's is a very successful business woman that Nora looks up to, and it seems like she aspires to be just as successful as Flora Dora. Flora Dora also constantly organizes competitions at family gatherings, something that clearly reinforced if not encouraged her to be a competitive person who's a firm believer in pulling up the ladder behind her.
Tumblr media
2. It goes even further with the dark and adult humour than season 1 did. Season 1 had a few instances of characters going from saying hell and had blood onscreen a couple times, and the swear jokes were more blatant than ever, but otherwise was about as adult as Animaniacs usually is. In season 2 we still have blatant swear jokes...AND a character admitting to inc*st, slavery and genocide are mentioned and not sugar-coated at all, Nora straight up mentions doing drugs, Pinky unintentionally committing murder...there's quite a bit of death this season actually, etc. Granted this shouldn't be too surprising because the reboot does have a higher age rating than the original series ('93 was TV-Y, the reboot is TV-PG). Animaniacs is literally more adult than ever (whilst still being a kids show of course) and I am here for it.
3. THE SONGS!!! Season 1's songs were very good, Animaniacs songs usually are, but season 2's music was really, REALLY good! It had a lot of variety too: rock, rap, parody songs, Broadway showstoppers, electro pop, swing, etc. My personal favourites were "Warner's Ark", "I Am The Very Model of an Ancient Roman Emperor", "Magna Cartoon", and "Yakko's Big Idea" (*cough*buy/stream the soundtrack*cough*).
Tumblr media
4. The "running gag"/recurring joke of the season was better (there are less reboot jokes). Season 1 was funny, but I gotta admit they ran the whole "this is a reboot of a 90's show" joke into the ground. Like I get that the show is meta but they made that joke every other episode to the point where felt like they were repeating themselves. So I'm glad season 2 dropped that. There are quite a few jokes about and references to "Yakko's World", but 1) They at least tell us something about Yakko as a character by showing how much he values that song and that he seems to canonically be sentimental towards it, and 2) They were more creative with how they would reference it or use it for a joke each time, whereas most jokes about the show acknowledging that it's a reboot in season 1 are essentially just the characters stating "this is a reboot of a 90's show!" over and over again.
Plus bonus things I wanted that aren't necessarily "improvements":
A Plotz Cameo
Assuming that was him and not just an expy or relative of Plotz. If it was him does that mean he's not retired? Is he just an actor now? Either way it was cool to see!
Tumblr media
A Wakko Song
I was hoping Wakko would get a song number this season, and he did! ("Gruesome Ol' Gruel"). Maybe we could get a longer one next time though? Like, at least a minute or two? Preferably a rock song please? Honestly I think Wakko has the best singing voice of the three Warners, I just wanna hear him sing more!
A Yakko Solo Segment
...probably should explain this one. You see, in the original show Wakko has SIX stories basically all to himself where his siblings either aren't in it for long or don't appear at all ("Potty Emergency", "Clown ‘n’ Out", "Ups and Downs", "Bingo", "Go Fish", and “Ten Short Films About Wakko Warner”). He even gets another one in the reboot "Wakko's Short Shorts: Now Loading"). Now on it's own I don't mind this, in fact I think it's a good idea for each Warner sibling to get their chance to shine on their own without their siblings every now and again...the problem is that didn't really happen. Other than "Dot’s Quiet Time" (a segment's that basically a song number full of gags) and "Dot’s Poetry Corner" (a series of very short bumpers), Dot only got one story segment, “Cute First (Ask Questions Later)”, and even that took 93 episodes to get to...in a 99 episode series. Great.
Meanwhile Yakko literally only gets to star in a segment on his own if it’s a song ("Yakko’s World", "Yakko’s Universe", etc) or if it’s a one off gag/series of bumpers they’ll only do for one episode ("Useless Facts", "Disasterpiece Theatre", etc). Other than that he has ZERO stories in which he stars by himself without his siblings being present for a lot of it. Admittedly, Yakko was kind of a spotlight stealer in earlier episodes of the original show, so maybe the writers caught on to that and gave the other two solo segments intentionally, but still none of those segments were just him, his sibs were still there. I just would've liked to see Yakko star (mostly or entirely without his siblings) in a segment with a story (not one where the whole segment is a song, not a bumper segment) just once.
So imagine my delight when the reboot not only gave us just that, but also made it an homage to my favourite Looney Tunes short, "Duck Amuck".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Yakko Amakko" was one the highlights of season 2 to me, plus I loved the ending. He did what Daffy and even Bugs Bunny couldn't do, actually outwit the artist, how awesome is that?!
Many people thought season 2 was better than season 1, and I can see why (I personally like both seasons about the same-I think season 1 is better than season 2 in some areas, but season 2 is better than season 1 in others). There's also little things like Dr Scratchansniff being a recurring character again or how they actually referenced the PatB spin off this season (because correct me if I'm wrong but season 1 never made a direct reference to the spin off) that I almost listed but didn't have too much to say about them. They were neat.
Hopefully season 3 will turn out to be the best season yet!

Stalking
I think there are a lot of people here who do not understand the meaning of stalking. So here is how it goes.
Years ago, when there was no social media, an actress who played the sidekick of a star who was so "loved" on her that a "he" shot and killed her. That was in the days when California gave out information from her driver's license. Soon after, California made a law that no addresses could be given out from driver license information. I am certain that that was a problem with other people, but it was the only one that made the news.on
Stalking was not limited to celebrities. There was a horrific story out of New York City about a woman who was stabbed to death in her apartment doorway by a stalker, as was learned when he was caught, while others stood around and did not stop the killing.
John Lennon was stalked by a man who was trying to get the attention of another actress (name withheld to In others from getting ideas), and he was shot December 8, 1980. Caused a lot of distress from some who were great fans of John, and jealously of the Beatles.
In 2009, I became a fan of Celtic Thunder, the Irish/Scot singers. I wrote blogs on-line for them, and got to actually meet them in 2010. But there was no fanatic actions toward them. Unfortunately, that was not true from women fans (of all ages), especially for Ryan Kelly. I think that was true of all of the singers, but somehow, a bunch of women in New Jersey took it too far, and as he was out walking one day, they started a riot, chasing him, as he ran for his life. One girl even broke her arm and went to the hospital. But Ryan had to get a body guard for the rest of their tour. He also was so terrified, he considered quitting Celtic Thunder, even was so scared he fell off (or jumped?) off a riser and was in a hospital with a coma for some time.
With social media, Sam Heughan has become so desired that on this site, there are those who report his every move, send photos, and even question who he is dating, when and where.
Now I have been called out here because I comment on their stalking. They deny it is what they are doing. But it is, and even if they are not actually stalking, but reporting what someone is telling him, but you simply do not know how many of them are reading these comments, and acting on them. Depending on getting the information they want.
Some report what he is saying on Instagram (IG), so I am sorry/glad to tell you Sam does not use social networks, of any kind. He has people behind him who keep him informed of what is going on, and they are they ones who are writing on the networks. This is definitely true.
There was this topic written into an episode of The West Wing. Josh discovered a site that was talking about him, telling lies, making up stories, not having clue about his private life. Josh decided to rely to them, and it only made it worse. He got even more publicity from his getting involved, and one of the other people had to tell him to quit it.
Sam is a loving person, but if he hasn't already, he is going to go into hiding, to keep people from finding him, even probably disrupting his own private life. I understand someone actually found out his home address and had it published in some public publication. That must have brought some weirdos to stalk him even further.
You who keep giving out private information, I don't care if he does get out in public sometimes for lunch or dinner or a date. He does make himself open to photos, even his own selfies, though he seems to have stopped that finally, but I suspect even that is going to stop soon. The man probably is going to have to go into true privacy, maybe even think his public career, if he gets, is getting, threats from some mistaken fans who believe he belongs to him. One woman in Argentina even posts that he is her husband.
I am considering out of tumblr altogether because it hurts my heart to see how much certain people here are telling me things I don't think should be published about him. I don't want to be around to hear that anyone has confronted him with the idea that he belongs to them.
It is bad enough that I am constantly contacted using my username while impersonating him, jealous because they are not him, or trying to find women by using his name, or MPC, or even the Great Glen Company to get my attention.
Facebook kicked me out several times as I tried to use them for political discussions, or to learn about Scottish food. I finally decided they want only salacious news, about not only Sam, but Keanu, Donnie, Donn, Graham, others. I do not use Twitter (X) or Google Chat or even my email has been hacked, so I don't have email any longer (after trying several times). Google wants too much information now to try and get rid of robots.
Social media was never intended for damaging people, but was meant to simply be a network where we could meet others of the same mind. It is a shame that social networks these days for lying, snarking, opening people to stalkers, or pedophiles and abductors and innocents.
What has this world come to.
I love and respect Sam Heughan, but I cannot trust my ability to try and keep up with him any longer.

because i can't escape the brainrot, here's a post comparing wednesday (2022) and wicked (2003) but it's mostly just wenclair and gelphie
(also, tagging @lionydoorin !! hope u enjoy this!)
obviously, the most blatant, in-your-face comparison is when wednesday and enid first become acquainted with one another in the first episode. the song 'what is this feeling' from the wicked musical is when galinda (who will later become glinda) and elphaba meet, and are forced to room with one another. the song is supposed to be funny, a sort of parody of the old musicals from the rodgers and hammerstein days, where, instead of love at first song, it's "loathe" at first sight. (the article "Queer Conventions in the Musical Wicked" is where this analysis comes from, and it's a wonderful analysis!) but ultimately the song lists all of the traits that they hate about each other without really getting to know one another so it's all superficial things. i think this can be used in wednesday and enid's first meeting as well as the fight they have later on. the one where enid leaves to yoko's room. (there's not really a moment here that parallels the two, so this will have to do for both.)
as a brief side tangent (but also still keeping with the theme); it's hard to not see the parallels and comparisons between wednesday addams and elphaba thropp. (enid and glinda share some parallels but not as much as these two) elphaba is a witch, who has incredibly powerful abilities, and she's incredibly blunt, very outspoken about what she's passionate about, which is usually justice. she's awkward, and she's not a very good people person (mostly because people fear her or mock her,) and, funnily enough, elphaba does mention that she has a "vision almost like a prophecy," but this vision of course is about the people of Oz celebrating her death. it's all very reminiscent of wednesday's character as a whole. this is not even mentioning the fact that in the number 'dancing through life,' elphaba goes to the dance, and she has a very...peculiar dance. one that is distinctly her own, and one that her fellow classmates make fun of. glinda, who suddenly has a change of heart, dances with elphaba, not caring if it's not what she's supposed to do. now i know that enid and wednesday didnt share a dance or anything at the Rave'N, but, i can't help but find similarities between elphaba's dance and wednesday's dance that further solidifies their similarities as characters, too.
back to the main point. there's also the obvious visual similarities, enid and wednesday have opposing color schemes as do elphaba and glinda. but i think the main point, or i guess, main part of the musical that i think has the most significant parallels to enid and wednesday is the final duet between elphaba and glinda. just for reference, at this point in the musical, glinda and elphaba have reconciled completely, and elphaba knows that she must take the blame, and she will. she'll take the fall for everything, but before she does, she has to tell glinda how important their friendship was (and is!) to her. the song, 'for good' is a touching song between the two, and phrases like, "you'll be with me, like a handprint on my heart," and, "i do believe i have been changed for the better," and of course, "i have been changed, for good." have an incredibly similar tone to wednesday's comment to enid, "the mark you have left on me is indelible." and even though they didn't spend as much time together as elphaba and glinda, wednesday and enid have both been changed by each other and by the presence and friendship of each other. wednesday even says after her initial comment to enid that, "...I always believed relying on other people to be a sign of weakness. That inevitably, they would lead to disappointment. Turns out I've been the disappointment." wednesday admits that her friendship with enid has completely changed her, and that it's changed the views that she once had about herself. (this does not include the hug that wednesday and enid share at the end of the series. this hug alone shows us that enid's friendship has changed wednesday, and that it is, ultimately, for the better.)
this isn't the best analysis, and if i had properly marked this out it would've probably been better (and longer lol) but the point of this was to at least highlight the parallels to these characters, because it was almost glaringly obvious to me. there are also some moments that i may have missed in this list, so if anyone has anything to add, please feel free to! these are just the moments from the top of my head from both the wednesday show and the wicked musical, but like i said, if i've missed anything or if there's anything anyone would like to add to this, please feel free to!

Only Murders in the Building, 2x03 – The Last Day of Bunny Folger (Spoilers)
The title is pretty self-explanatory.  Just like with Tim in the first season, we see what happened on Bunny’s last day of life. The difference here is that, unlike with Tim, we’re given less to clues to the mystery aspect.  That isn’t to say the mystery wasn’t important, or that there weren’t several things to keep track of; it’s just this episode was more about telling us who Bunny really was.
But let’s start with the mystery in this.  We find out that the day Bunny died, Bunny was going to turn the board’s presidency over to Nan.  We see that Bunny makes a comment about firing The Doorman before her last day is over; however, the way it was said it’s clear that she wasn’t serious and, in fact, she asks about his wife afterwards.  We know she got a phone call from someone about the painting and she immediately tells them not to call her.  We know she ate with someone at her favorite diner the day before who she didn’t consider a friend (the person who wants the painting or someone else?).  We know that she changed her mind about resigning as The President of the Board and that pissed off Nan.  We also found out that Nan planned to modernize the building, something that Bunny neither knew about or approved of.  Finally, we learned that Bunny knew her attacker.
But, again, this story was about who Bunny was.  And if someone where to tell me I would be emotional about Bunny’s death by the end….yes, Bunny could be very much a bitch to the tenants.  And she was unfair to Charles, Oliver, and Mabel in the first season.  But now we see the reasons.  She loves the Arconia and, in her own way, she loves the people inside of the building. By the end of the episode, I got the impression that she does the things she does, she’s the hard-ass that she is because she wants to make sure that the Arconia is a place where people feel safe to live.  Does she go overboard?  Sure, I don’t think that’s even an argument.  In fact, I think she even realizes that she goes to far’ because Bunny is taking stock in her life and she’s beginning to realize is that the building is all she has.  She doesn’t have any friends, or she doesn’t think she does (with the exception of the one neighbor in the building).  However, I would argue against that belief.  We get to see her a couple of times outside of the building.   She’s friendly to the vendor where she picks up her breakfast. She’s friendly to her regular waiter at the diner.  Hell, she’s more then friendly.  In the scene, she gives him a huge sum of money because she knows his dream is to be a DJ and she wants to help him buy the equipment he needs.
We also get to see moments with her and the trio from that day.  And, honestly?  Looking at it from her point of view, they do sort of come off as asshole-ly sometimes. Like, again, I get why Bunny isn’t their favorite person…but some of the comments, especially from Oliver, were really unnecessary.   But that’s also the point. We see throughout the episode The Trio getting ready for their celebration that they will be having when Bunny is murdered.  We see them having different interactions with Bunny throughout the day.  Some where Bunny goes too far in what she does and some where they do. We also have a funny moment in the elevator.
At the end of the episode, Bunny hears their celebration.  She takes over a bottle of wine and gives it to them, thanking them for saving the building.  They give her a sweatshirt, have a brief banter, and just when you think they might ask her to join in (which is what Bunny was hoping for) they just slam the door in her face.  In fairness, I can understand why they didn’t think Bunny would want to join in.  But when they realize their mistake, instead of correcting it, they take their party up to the roof.   And the heartbreaking moment is when Charles admitted that, while they didn’t kill Bunny, they might have been able to save her if they only had been kind.

Please expound on your love of Rory Williams
first of all thank you so much for sending me an ask I saw this when I woke up and screamed!! it took a while to answer because I was spiralling
*sigh* rory williams my beloved where do I start
he's just so human I want to squish his cheeks, my softest boy and then other times I just cry because he reminds me a lot of myself especially in the context of him 'third wheeling' the doctor and amy, just that situation where you meet someone because of your friend (fiancee/wife in his case) and you know without this person (amy) you know the other friend (the doctor) wouldn't give you the time of day, you'd just go unnoticed by them and when it's you and your friend (rory/amy) things are easy going but when it you and the other friend alone (rory/doctor) it's just awkward
and for all that rory goes unnoticed, he's actually incredibly observational and that makes him so smart and also puts him in danger, I mean he got taken by the angel because everyone else was celebrating talking about painting the tardis and they all walked past that grave but when he walked past it he noticed it he noticed his name he 'died' being observational
he see's everything from an outsider's perspective which is totally not how I feel I go about through life and because of that he calls the doctor out saying you don't know how much people want to impress you and how dangerous that makes you!!! I loved this scene so much because that's actually such a core value (the intention behind it is upto debate) of the doctor and how he interacts with others and rory can see through that because he's got this outsider's perspective, he very much is like the audience watching everything unfold most of the time instead of being in the scene with them
and the way he loves!! I know amy has the title of girl who waited eventhough she waited less time compared to rory, once for the doctor and then the doctor and rory, but I get it she was human while she was waiting and there's that mortality aspect that makes it mean a lot as when rory waited 2000 years he was plastic, so I get why she has that title and rory is given the last centurion but let's appreciate that he's also the boy who waited!! and what really gets me is that he didn't need to, the doctor could have taken them which a click of a button to the future and pandora's box it's built as a prison so you can't get out she wasn't in as much danger as one would think but he doesn't care he wants to be by her side always for 2000 years protecting her!!!
and I know how little self belief he has in himself that he never thought he was the beautiful man that amy is in love but when you think you love someone more than they love you wouldn't that change your perception of them and in turn make you feel less love for them? maybe but rory has pure unconditional love, it's not based on the condition that the other person will love you back! and he doesn't fault amy for it, she's never had to quieten down for him she can be herself even when it's flirty, everyone can be themselves around him he doesn't make anyone feel small, there's the moment in god complex when the doctor realises it's faith the minotaur is after and it's amy's faith in him that brought them there and both of them awkwardly shift to look at rory but he looks away and then he just asks the logical questions about what to do, he lets then have their space to figure things out even when the doctor admits to amy what rory has always said about him that he just wanted to impress someone he's vain, but rory also see's past that when it comes to the doctor and lets him have those moments with amy and other people to just be impressive to them because he doesn't think it comes from any bad intentions, like all those moments where he's near death's door because of travelling with the doctor you'd think he'd be full of resentment but he isn't!
and the girl who waited episode, the future amy that's still his amy even if she's old he's doesn't care about that he cares that he didn't get to spend time with her and even though present amy is safe in the tardis now he still goes to older amy because she's his amy too! he doesn't care about past present future, time travel logic and laws that might make the doctor feel better he just wants to be with amy and give her comfort!!
he's so calm and logical and when you think about those types of characters or people you'd think their calmness would come from rejection of emotions, from being cold but he's not that he's warm and emotional and kind and considerate and compassionate and I think if you take all the 'good' things that people interpret about the doctor like the kindness and compassion and isolate them you'd get rory williams

'Manhunt,' about hunt for John Wilkes Booth, may make you wish you paid attention in history class
Tumblr media
NEW YORK
A new series transforms the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln into a true crime thriller that goes deeper into the story than most textbooks.
Tumblr media
Most who studied Lincoln in school learn he was assassinated by a man named John Wilkes Booth. Lincoln was watching a play with his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, at Ford's Theatre when Booth came from behind and shot him.
What isn't as widely remembered is that Booth killed the president just five days after the surrender of Confederate General Robert E. Lee effectively ended the Civil War. It was a pre-planned, coordinated attack on the president, Vice President Andrew Johnson and the Secretary of State. Only Booth was successful.
Tumblr media
A Confederate sympathizer, Booth relied on a network of supporters to help him hide. Edwin Stanton, the Secretary of War, led the search by the Army to track Lincoln's killer down. He was found 12 days later hiding in a barn where he was shot and killed.
“ Manhunt," debuting Friday on Apple TV+, dramatizes the hunt for Booth and the trial that followed. It’s based on the book “Manhunt: The 12-Day Chance for Lincoln’s Killer” by James L. Swanson. Tobias Menzies stars as Stanton, who also helped convict Booth's conspirators.
Tumblr media
“Most no one knows the details of this story unless they’ve done a Ph.D or it’s a special interest of theirs,” said creator- showrunner Monica Beletsky in a recent interview.
Bringing Stanton to life is exciting, said Menzies, because he had a close, respected relationship with Lincoln.
Tumblr media
“A big part of Stanton’s journey is both a political loss and also a personal loss. He loses a friend. ... I studied very little American history, and I certainly didn’t do this period of history,” said Menzies. “As an actor, I’ve done quite a lot of period stuff and I find it enjoyable to get the chance to find out about a new part of these stories and this is a really good example of that.
"Truth is stranger than fiction.”
Tumblr media
Anthony Boyle plays Booth and his awareness of the man began with an episode of “The Simpsons” where Bart portrayed him in a school play. He knew his research needed to dig deeper to understand Booth's psyche and read letters he had written between the ages of 15 until his death at 26. Boyle describes them as a “descent into madness.”
Beletsky hopes “Manhunt” underscores how Lincoln's killing was especially shocking at the time.
Tumblr media
“That kind of murder was so uncommon,” she said. “Lincoln famously left the White House door unlocked during the Civil War, even though he had piles of death threats. It wasn’t even imagined that kind of crime could happen in our culture. My costume designer told me that Booth, wearing all black that night, is the origin of villains wearing all black in our storytelling.”
There was a boldness and conceit to the way Booth decided to kill Lincoln so publicly in front of an audience that fit his desire for attention.
Tumblr media
“The theater was absolutely jammed,” said Menzies, a British actor who's starred in “The Crown" and “Outlander.” “And then to run out and disappear into the night and then take 12 days to find this man, you couldn't make it up.”
Booth was an actor in a family of actors, but lived in the shadow of his older brother Edwin, who was well-respected for his talent. “I'm gonna be the most famous man in the whole world,” Booth says on the show, prior to the assassination. While on the run, he reads newspaper articles about himself and loves the attention.
Tumblr media
“It was like, Leonardo DiCaprio’s brother killed the president," said Hamish Linklater, who plays Lincoln. "I mean, (Edwin) was the biggest celebrity of his time," he said.
“This was before the internet and before television, this was word of mouth," added Boyle. "People were hearing about it (asking), ”John Wilkes Booth, the actor, killed the President? Was this some sort of farce?”
Tumblr media
Besides telling Stanton's story, Beletsky introduces viewers to Mary Simms, a slave belonging to a physician named Dr. Samuel Mudd, (played by Matt Walsh), who treated Booth while he was on the run. She was freed by the Emancipation Proclamation. The series depicts Simms — played by Lovie Simone— as interacting with Booth when he shows up at Mudd's house to hide, but in reality, she never met him.
Simms went on to testify in the trial of Booth's conspirators — which included Mudd — and confirmed his allegiance to the Confederacy. Because there is not a lot of information available on Simms, she was written as a composite of a number of people who helped to convict Booth's co-conspirators.
Tumblr media
“It was a real opportunity to bring some of these heroes to light, like Stanton and Simms, and also to sort of set the record straight in some ways of what happened in our past and how that still continues to affect us," said Beletsky.
“It feels like a good time to be telling this story. You know, there is a big election coming up in November. Our story is partly a story about the fragility of democracy to some extent," Menzies said. “I think that’s as true now as it was then. It has a relevance and a resonance which feels kind of rich to be telling now.”

(Cast of What's My Line? on top, Lucy and Ethel fight a loaf of bread, bottom)
Day 21- TV and Radio:
TV:
What’s My Line?, season 3, “Arthur Godfrey,” March 30th, 1952.
I Love Lucy, season 1, episode 25, “Pioneer Women,” March 31st, 1952.
Radio:
The Big Show, episode 54, March 30th, 1952.
Mr. and Mrs. North, “Death in the Dark,” March 25th, 1952.
The premise of What’s My Line? is this: What’s my line= line of work. A panel of four witty and funny personalities guess the occupations of different guests. Usually 2 “normal” non-famous people with unusual jobs come out, and the panel has to guess in a “20 questions” kind of format. The last guest is a famous person. The panelists wear blindfolds, so they cannot see who it is. The celebrities often disguise their voice in some way as well. It’s a show that always makes me laugh out loud. This week the first guest embroidered blankets for elephants to wear in the circus, the second lady made lipstick, and the celebrity was Arthur Godfrey. Most people born after the early 1960s don’t remember who he was. He was a huge radio and tv personality that the country adored because of his folksy speaking manner and his natural use of tone and volume. People felt as if he was a friend speaking to them. Unfortunately behind the scenes he was kind of a jerk, and he eventually got his comeuppance for it. He cruelly fired one of his people on the air and was also caught saying some bad things when he didn’t know he was on air. His sponsors pulled out, and his career fell apart.
I Love Lucy was a classic this week. She and the whole gang made a bet on who could survive longer living without modern technology- the men or the women. The scenes where Lucy and Ethel are trying to make bread still kill me today. You’ve probably seen the scene (or pictures of it) of Lucy taking the monstrously large loaf of bread out of the oven.
...And now a word from today’s best sponsor: Stopette! Poof! There goes Perspiration! Do you want to stop the life-ruining problem of body odor? Would you like to eradicate it so you actually have a chance of being married and avoiding the inevitable social shunning that will follow? Would you like to give your mother grandchildren? Well, all it takes is one “deft squeeze” on a bottle of Stopette! Its fine mist will ensure you don’t die alone and unloved in a smelly room!

So I finished watching the last episode of Demon Slayer last night, so here are my thoughts on the entire anime as a whole
[OBVIOUSLY MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD]
God that ending. Fuck. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a show successfully get me to fucking beg for a dumb bullshit plot armor deus ex machina before. I don’t care if it made no sense I don’t care if it’s bad writing I’m just happy Nezuko survived. And the sheer amount of skill it takes to make me care about a character that much is impressive.
I’m kind of sad that we didn’t get any filler in the latter seasons. I would’ve loved to see how the relationship between the main 4 changed during and after each major arc. Also I want more yaoi moments.
Jar guy’s final form is honestly kinda hot
I could write a whole essay on how effectively the writers utilized unreliable worldbuilding to show us that demons are all evil and Nezuko is the only exception, then slowly lead us to the conclusion that nonviolent demons have always existed and purposely make themselves as invisible as possible. I cannot stress enough how good the worldbuilding in this show is
I appreciate the lengths that the series goes through to humanize it’s villains and show us how the demons are pushed into lives of violence as symptoms of larger systemic issues
That being said, the “sudden backstory montage right before the monster of the week dies” starts to feel a bit lazy after the 10th time they do it. I understand that all these character backstories couldn’t succinctly fit in the first season, but it leaves us with a lot of deaths that could’ve been a lot more impactful if we had been introduced to these characters earlier. I’ll have to read the manga and see if it’s handled better
On the topic of lazy writing, I’m really not a fan of Zenitsu’s whole “sleep transformation” thing. It feels like a gimmicky way to get out of writing character growth
Back to the good stuff now. 52 episodes and the main character does not fall in love with a single person. Aros everywhere are celebrating
When I first heard the premise of the entertainment district arc, that the 3 male main characters disguise themselves as women to infiltrate a brothel, I was completely ready to drop the series. But if I’m being honest, they handled that arc just about perfectly. I obviously can’t speak for the transgender community and maybe I’m just ignorant, but the whole arc seemed pretty supportive of the concept of changing your gender. I’d argue that Zenitsu seemed a lot more happy and fulfilled as a girl than they did as a boy. The series also has one of the best depictions of sex workers I’ve seen on television
Everything in mugen train was literally perfect. I wouldn’t change a single thing about it. I hope whoever wrote that arc gets $750,000,000 in the mail and free gourmet meals forever.
I love Inosuke’s gay ass crush on Tanjiro. King shit
I complained about Zenitsu’s character arc earlier but I must admit his writing in the spider forest mini-arc was fucking phenomenal. We love it when comic relief characters experience personal growth and start to carry serious narrative weight
The way that Nezuko speaks at the very end. She speaks slowly and abruptly. She can only manage a word or two at a time, and even then only simple ones. It takes her 3 whole attempts to say her first word. Its so god damn impactful watching her stumble through speech after spending so long being physically incapable of speaking. I love that scene so much
I really hope we get a season 5. I want to know where tanjiro and Nezuko go from here. Do they stay in the corps? Do they settle down to a peaceful life, now that Nezuko is, in most respects, functionally human? Or is Nezuko not content with her current state, leading them to continue searching for a total cure? How will the more skeptical and conservative hashira react to knowing that Nezuko, who they already consider a liability, is now powerful enough to withstand direct sunlight? How will her relationships with Inosuke and Zenitsu change? All of these questions would be answered if I read the manga but I’m too lazy to do that so I’m gonna have to wait for the next season, if they make one.
Overall this was one of, if not The Best, shonen anime ever made

Louis Theroux Podcast's First Episode: The Pain Suffered By Shania Twain
Tumblr media
Louis Theroux is a British-American documentarian, journalist, broadcaster, and author. He has received three British Academy Television Awards and a Royal Television Society Television Award.
Even with those accolades, he may not be that familiar to American audiences, but he is very good at interviewing people. I've seen him on clips from the BBC series When Louis Met... (2000–02), when Theroux accompanied a different British celebrity in each program in their daily lives, interviewing them as they go.
He's no Jimmy Fallon. He’s much better.
Theroux has a new Spotify podcast, eponymously called The Louis Theroux Podcast.
The new nine-part series will feature a lineup of fascinating guests, notable in their chosen fields. Season one of The Louis Theroux Podcast will feature conversations with Shania Twain, Amelia Dimoldenberg, Craig David, Tan France, Nick Cave, Jennette McCurdy, Nile Rodgers, Samantha Morton and Ben Elton.
Joining Theroux to kick off the series is singer/songwriting Shania Twain. Louis and Twain talk candidly about her extremely challenging childhood; how her career started by singing in strip clubs to support her family, the abuse from her stepfather, the sudden death of her parents during her rise to fame, and her musical inspirations.
I knew the interview would be different in a positive way when Theroux allowed listeners to hear the preamble to set up the tech, where Theroux shows off his limited French vocabulary and then intones, "I'm on 50 days straight on DuoLingo."
The interview begins with Theroux asking Twain if he can call her by her real name, which is Eileen Edwards. She agrees.
During the interview, it's obvious that Theroux has done an impressive amount of research for the interview. His questions eschew superficiality, and we quickly learn that Twain is a thoughtful, intuitive, and astute person with a life story that has all the components of a classic country song. Twain starts the interview by revealing that, in order to support her family, she started working as a bar singer at eight-years-old into the early hours of the morning and that she was a taxpayer at 11 years old, stating “I didn’t start making money in bars until I was 11. Officially, so when I was 11 I was a taxpayer, I was earning money under contract in the bars”. She touched on how she has suffered from crippling stage fright and how singing to drunk men in strip clubs at a young age was intimidating. She said that this led to her to feel anxiety about performing. She states: “I think if I'm being really fair to my history, and the history of the anxiety, I would say that it really was initiated from childhood and being in those bars where it was a very intimidating environment. Because I didn't want to be there. I didn't want to go up on that stage. I'm like, Oh, but I did it for my mother” She goes on to talk about how her stepfather physically abused her and her mother, who was diagnosed with depression. She confessed that there were ‘so many levels of abuse’, both physical and sexual, even stating that “both my mother and father threatened to kill each other, they would confess it to me” and “I really thought he was capable of killing us”. When her parents died in a car crash when Shania was 22, she then had to support her four siblings through her music career. Lastly, Twain discusses how she fell in love with music producer Mutt Lange who then cheated on her with her personal assistant. But she has long since found love again with Frédéric Thiébaud. Throughout it all, however, she confesses how music and songwriting have always been her source of inspiration and drive. Commenting on the affair, she states: “I will never forget how I felt through all of that, you know, shock and then the recovery period, but I'm just really over those negative feelings because I just worked through them.”
What I think makes this podcast unique and ear worthy among the hundreds of podcast interview shows is Theroux. He has that English dry wit that's engaging, and he manages a celebrity interview deftly -- asks incisive questions, listens well, and respects his listeners. Theroux doesn't pander, nor does he fawn. Instead, he elevates a People magazine-type celebrity interview into a sonic exploration of a famous person.
The choice of Shania Twain as the first episode was a smart one, since Twain's fame came at the cost of family tragedy, a challenging childhood, and a music career dotted with personal and romantic calamities. The Louis Theroux Podcast is available for free exclusively on Spotify here, with new episodes weekly from 6th June.

Found my initial live thoughts on watching the mess that is Book of Boba Fett from a year ago.
A show that would have been fine with any other character.
But they did him so dirty, along with other issues that I have not seen a lot of people talking about in favor of celebrating the found family part of the show.
What the actual fuck, show? So, first, you white savior Boba fuckin' Fett, [I know he's not white. But the trope of the outsider from a "more civilized society" coming in and fixing everything is exactly the same.] a bounty hunter best known for working with Darth Vader and disintegrating people. I understand choosing Tusken Raiders as a stand-in for Clone Troopers. No problem. So, they take him prisoner. For slave labor. I guess. Then he kills a big dumb monster. Suddenly he is not a slave. How progressive. Then he learns their ways. And brings them technology. Hey, is this sounding like a 1950s western yet? Then, he and the natives take down a train trespassing on the Tusken's ancestral lands. He goes on a vision quest. He wears their clothes. He is of the tribe. Disney invents a new tribal dance for the kids to imitate and everyone forgets they're slavers. And all the murders are written off with a single line, "Other tribes have chosen violence!" Perfection. Beautiful. And then, the very next episode, all the totally-not-evil-slavers-who-never-murdered-anyone-because-we-know-them are murdered off-screen. Before we can remember their actual past actions. Including the child with the toy gaffi stick. Who, I remind you, literally held two people as slaves and directly led to the death of one of them. Angelic choir music plays over the scene. Because they're angels. What the actual fuck, Disney. What the fuck? How did this get made in 2022? It's just the same old bullshit from 70 years ago mixed in with the cultural shifts of the 90s and early 00s and dressed up in a Star Wars outfit. What am I watching? Also. We know nothing about our main character. And all his decisions have been quests assigned by other people. He is so flat I wouldn't be able to see him if he turned sideways. But maybe that's a slow burn. They have done some setup there. But geez. People have been praising tf out of this. I wasn't expecting so much oof. HE WAS LITERALLY IN A JESUS BLESSING POSE WHILE BEING WRAPPED IN NATIVE GARB.
--------
Like. They somehow portrayed the natives as savages and helpless angels who need a savior from the "modern world" simultaneously. And then killed them all while the savior was away. It is almost funny how oof it is.
--------
He just said, "That was a bit heavy-handed, don't you think?" over a simple threat of violence towards a repeatedly stonewalling character. This is the big scary bounty hunter everyone's dreamt about for 45 years.
--------
"And remember. No disintegrations. They're a bit heavy handed." - 2022 Darth Vader, I guess.
--------
Star Wars just did a car chase scene where they plow through two people carrying a plate-glass window. In 2022. I'm so glad it's out of George Lucas's hands. He would have done something silly. What am I watching?
--------
WE HAVE FRUIT STANDS. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. I REPEAT. WE HAVE FRUIT STANDS.
--------
I'm going to be honest. None of this is what I expected from a spin-off of The Mandalorian. I can't handle another episode right now. Woof.
That's how far I got the first day. I really wasn't expecting much from the show, but the problematic shit, then the Looney Tunes shit, then the complete erasure of Boba Fett's soul as they replaced him with someone who looks like him, but isn't him...
Oh my gods they cloned the Fett.
I wish the transhuman stuff was more explored and they had more personality. They were basically just an aesthetic for Boba to wear and it really didn't work for me.
He also spent the entire season being the town's gopher which, again, is not what I expected from a Boba Fett at the end of his life, even with the supposed rebirth. You don't actually lose your past when you go through something like that.
You make a decision.
Boba Fett from the show doesn't make decisions.
I really did not enjoy this. And it's 100% because they Teen Titans Go'd it. Used a visible name people care about to do whatever they wanted.
Mandalorian worked. If this was the show you wanted to make, do it with a new character that fits better. Have an ounce of respect for fans of the universe. Star Wars is huge and has room for all kinds of stories.
It doesn't have to be the same characters pasted into scripts that don't work for them.
Blah.

To this day, The Big Bang Theory remains one of the biggest TV shows in recent memory. Having won countless Emmy Awards during its run and being one of the most-viewed shows of all time, it’s safe to say this series will remain a classic for a long time.
With the show recently celebrating its 15th anniversary, there has been a lot of looking back on the series and the massive milestones it was able to achieve.
From who was almost cast on the show — literally Marisa Tomei nearly played Penny — to the failed pilot that had to be reworked, this book goes into all the behind-the-scenes details, and it’s a fascinating read.
One of the most interesting parts comes toward the end of the book, when the cast and crew detailed the decision to end The Big Bang Theory after Season 12, even though there were rumors circulating online that the show was likely to be picked up for Season 13.
According to the new book, Jim Parsons made the personal decision to step away from the series in order to “get out of the security of the show and find out what was next” for him after Season 12.
At the time, only Simon Helberg, who Jim describes as his closest friend in the cast, knew that Jim was thinking about stepping away. In fact, Simon was also thinking Season 12 would be his last.
When the cast got back to work for Season 12, Jim recalls that “nothing had come up about [new] contracts” for the cast, and he was “frightened and anxious” when he thought about having to let the creators and writers know this would be his final season.
“I felt like a liar at that [first] table read, because I knew that at the end of these next 24 episodes, that was it for me,” Jim recalled in the book. “So I asked Chuck [Lorre] and Steve [Molaro] if we could talk.”
Looking back on the meeting with Jim, executive producer Steve Molaro said “there was never a question about continuing on” without him, so this meant The Big Bang Theory had to come to an end. Executive producer Lee Aronsohn even added, “I’ll tell you, without Jim Parsons, there is no 12 years of Big Bang Theory.”
After the initial conversations between Jim and the producers took place, it was time to let the rest of the cast know, which is where some of the behind-the-scenes drama began to unfold.
Following a table read, the cast was asked to stay for a meeting, and director Nikki Lorre recalls watching the cast “happy” riding on golf carts to the production offices, not knowing what was about to be “dropped on them.”
In the meeting, creator Chuck Lorre immediately handed things over to Jim Parsons, which he now says might’ve been a misstep. Jim revealed to the cast that he was leaving the show, and Chuck said he “didn’t see a path forward without Sheldon.”
For The Big Bang Theory cast, what ensued after the meeting was a lot of tears and heartbreak once they realized they were suddenly filming their final season.
“The shock of Oh my god, what is next? was scary,” Kaley Cuoco said. “I mean, we cried for hours that day. We thought we were going to do another year, so all of the sudden your life kind of flashes before your eyes. … I couldn’t breathe. It just felt like a death, but also a new horizon for everybody as well.”
Meanwhile, Johnny Galecki said, “I was shocked. We were just blindsided that day. And not necessarily shocked by Jim’s decision, but that he hadn’t had that conversation with his castmates first to prepare us. So yes, it could have been handled better. We’re a family; have a conversation.”
“There was a part of me that almost stood up and said I’m not going to sit here and watch the people I love be so hurt,” Johnny continued. “But I stopped myself from doing so and I hugged [Jim] instead. Still, that’s what literally went through my mind because it was tearing me to shreds watching Kaley break down and see the tears from everyone.”
Similar to Johnny and Kaley, Melissa Rauch, Kunal Nayyar, and Mayim Bialik all had similar feelings of knowing it was the “right decision” but being crushed over the ending of the show. All three of them said that looking back, it felt like it was easier that the decision to end was made for them.
The following morning after the meeting that essentially canceled The Big Bang Theory, Steve Molaro recalled tensions were a little high between Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, and Jim Parsons.
“I got a text that morning from Kaley saying she didn’t know if she could work that day because she was still really upset,” Steve explained. “Upset with Jim. … The first run-through back was kind of icy and none of them were talking between scenes, but everyone was professional.”
After that first run-through, the cast had three days off, and once they returned, it was back to normal. “By the next run-through, pretty quickly I saw Kaley and Jim talking between scenes and laughing,” Steve Molaro said.
“I remember Kaley saying later that [the cast members] loved the show so much and it was such a special place and such a big part of their lives, that they didn’t want it to end ugly,” writer and co-executive producer Steve Holland said. “If this was going to be the last season, they were going to put aside their anger and frustration and differences and enjoy every moment of it.”
