so I’ve seen this thing recently where people will say ‘if you don’t like (x piece of media) I’m convinced you just weren’t paying attention’. And, like, maybe I need to stop looking at people’s opinions on the Thirteenth’s era of Doctor Who, but no. One can notice the symbolism and still find that other elements of it strike them as worse enough to overshadow it. Just because something has deep symbolic visual details or uses leitmotifs well doesn’t mean anyone is required to like it. And this goes for all media, not just my blorbo show.

so I pretty much rewatched series twelve today and like BOYYYYY they really weren’t joking about implementing thasmin in from series twelve onwards. Now that we know it’s canon it means so much more, the subtle pining, the standing slightly too close to one another, the gentle touches that could be easily missed, these “secret looks of love” and adoration and genuine care for one another.

I know I say this every time that a fav doc x companion duo of mine are about to leave but these two REALLY deserve more time together. They could do so much more and be so much more but all of this, everything we’ve gotten and what’s to come is so special and means so much because it’s happened in this moment and under all these unexpected circumstances and that makes this whole journey with them just a little bit more beautiful

Just saw someone credit Chibnall for making the Doctor nonbinary and uhm,,, respectfully I think some of ya'll skipped 12.

Unless I'm forgetting some earlier classic who/rtd mention of nonbinary-ism, 12 is the first TV Doctor to explicitly talk about timelords not having human gender.

And thats not even getting into earlier non TV stuff like the Eighth doctor saying the line 'i don't think I've ever even been a man' in response to someone asking him if he'd ever been a woman.

Like yes casting 13 as a woman was an awesome move and a win for nonbinary Doctor fans everywhere. But please don't forget the work Capaldi & Moffat put into making Twelve a nonbinary icon

CHIBNALL ERA TO ME YOU ARE PERFECT!! AND MY SAPPHIC HEART WILL LOVE YOU UNTIL LONG AFTER THE NEXT SEASON, DOCTOR, SHOWRUNNER HAS BEEN AND GONE.

Everyone talks about how hit or miss the writing was in 13's era but never about how it had so much HEART. And HUMOUR. Some brilliant moments and great concepts and a doctor who (lol) clearly loved every SECOND of being there. They paid attention and let the doctor and her best friend fall in love because of how much we loved them together. And it had such a positive impact on me and so many queer whovians because of that!!

It's probably been said but I'll say it again: no era is without flaws and the things I love about 13's era outnumber the things I would have changed. This era broke new ground and reignited my love for the whole show and I know I'm not the only one. I will defend it until after everyone else has stopped caring. No one else got to be us. That is all thank you!!
