So, who are our previous incarnations? We got Tenzen as all but confirmed ... by 4 auspices and us wielding his legendary blade said to incinerate everyone else.
We have the theory of Haldrath, maybe that Padjal guy whose soulstone we have?
And my personal theory of Bardam of course.
Trying to think back through all the various history lessons we've had... We get so much random history from Eorzea but we meet so many of the characters from said history in actual form because of Shenanigans... XD
I don't think we have anyone from the War of the Magi who stands out, I think because a ton of lore was lost, and our interactions with things like Dun Scaith didn't give us much lore that was easy to jump on, or else whole civilisations were turned into immortal tonberries so we can't have been a Nymian who was present at the time. So I like to think that like Bardam, for lack of any actual lore except that she was There and has a statue, Kiribu of PotD buff fame, was one :D Thanks, past!me, for getting me through Floor 100 o7

After rewatching the airport scene you can’t convince me Ted and Rebecca’s ‘thank you’ wasn’t actually ‘I love you’, much like this:

endwalker spoilers ahead
Water was always fickle. To Pyxis, the element was the most difficult to wield even with years of experience now under the belt.
If they stood in a river or stream, where the water was guided by nature itself, the shield flowed and wrapped around them with ease. Even being on the banks hindered the time it took for the water to start forming as it should, but at least the element came to their aid. Back in Radz-at-Han, however, the flower filled fountain didn't seem to quite do the trick, and any attempt to pull from the aether proved fruitless despite the constant flow - it appeared that man-made movement of waters would not stir the same connection.
Regardless, for the Aquaveil to be effective, they couldn't rely on being near bodies of water. As a conjurer, Pyxis should have been able to call upon the element, no matter the location, to protect those who needed it. As the Warrior of Light, they should have been able to wield that which others find unwieldy. As just Pyxis, they should be better than this. The main annoyance stemmed from the knowledge that they could do it. As the red skies above threatened to rain down, as they stood before the largest of Blasphemies they had seen so far, watching it rear up to lunge forward at G’raha with so many teeth, the waters knitted so quickly around the Miqo’te’s figure, absorbing some of the blunt force gnashing at him.
They hadn’t been able to weave it together since, the gnawing frustration kept quiet from the others. There were more important things to worry about, and they had not had the time to focus on the issue. But now there was a new lead. Someone who could answer questions no scholar on the Source could answer, were they but still alive enough to be asked. There was yet hope, and with that Pyxis wanted to be as ready as they could.
As the other scions rested, Pyxis had remained in the darkened, empty streets of Radz-at-Han to make use of the water fountains at their disposal. They should have been resting as well, knowing full well that the day ahead would be arduous, but it was all the better motivation to figure out what piece of the puzzle they were missing in order for the protective spell to be of use in the upcoming trials. If they could do it even the once more, without the aid of water sources around them, then they would be satisfied. Their body could remember the flows of aether needed, and with practice hone it to be perfect every time.
“Just one more time,” Pyxis grimaced, stepping once more into the fountain and closing their eyes. They knew pure instinct had allowed the elements to reveal this power to them, that honest and deep desire to protect someone they cared about, to prevent as much harm as possible to befall them, even if just for a moment… It had to be honest intent. They took a deep breath in; the lingering scents of the flowers floating around their ankles still as fresh as the day they were plucked, the crash of water falling down to the calm pools below echoing in their mind, the shifting ripples flowing away from them…
Towards someone else. They had been focused on trying to protect themselves with each binding of aether through their staff, simply to test if the conjuration would work. But that wasn’t the intent. The aether was supposed to protect someone else.
Pyxis thought back to the encounter again, where the veil had wrapped around G’raha with swift ease. How they had called upon something - anything - to come to their aid. To ease the pain, to share the burden.
The ripples pulled inwards. A sharp intake of breath from excitement pulled them out of the memory, and the ripples pulled higher.
Up around their body.
Up over.. their body..?
Water unceremoniously dumped itself on top of them, waves crashing over the sides of the fountain, leaving them utterly drenched.
Perhaps another opportunity to experiment further would present itself in due time.
