I’ve been wearing a black ring on my right middle finger since I was ~9 years old.

Back then, I had no reason, but now I do—this is sometimes an identifying symbol in the Ace Community. 💜🖤🤍

I shouldn't feel alone when I'm around you. You make me unhappy lately. I am not sure if it has ever been any other way. You made many promises to me when we came here. Now I know it was all lies. When you love someone, you love with all your heart. You care, you don't cause harm, or ruin there life. You aren't jealous, rude, or mean. Love doesn't talk shit behind your back, and smile to your face! It feels no frustration, wish for harm, or any lonely feelings. Love is warm, kind, giving, caring. Love supports, forgives, respects, and is open/honest. Love is sweet, responsible, and warm.

My question;

How have you shown me any of these qualities, and how often?

From where I'm sitting....... A husband isn't what you want to be to me.

Question 2;

How do you see yourself if you were me, and I was you?

Evaluate the importance of your outside influences, and your own projection of your personality. Think of if you would marry you, if you were me.

Maybe then you could understand where I am, and who I am .

What brings you peace? I am not a very peaceful person. I do not often look like I am at peace (other than maybe when I am sleeping). I am pretty sure no one has ever credited me as bringing them peace. Peace to me means my brain can be focused and living in the moment. Um momento. Essa medida efêmera que se assemelha a um respiro em meio ao tempo, ganhou proporções medievais, equivalendo a 90 segundos de vida. E foi nesse mesmo instante, quando você partiu, que tudo pareceu desmoronar, e cada segundo se alongou como se fossem 90 anos.

Lembranças dos nossos momentos felizes, outrora luminosos e vibrantes, que hoje ressoam em minha mente como rápidos milésimos de segundos, quase imperceptíveis. Oh, como a alegria que compartilhamos se tornou efêmera, como uma estrela cadente que se esvai no céu noturno.

Neste turbilhão de sentimentos, busco na penumbra das lembranças os rastros da nossa cumplicidade, mas a passagem do tempo as fragmentou em memórias tênues e fugazes.

Porém, mesmo no crepúsculo das recordações, ainda nutro a esperança de que o relógio da vida nos conceda novos momentos, onde o tempo seja apenas uma mera sombra, e juntos possamos escrever uma história mais longa e profunda que o tempo medieval possa mensurar.

Nas esquinas do destino, quem sabe, encontraremos o tempo que perdemos, ressignificando as horas vazias em instantes de amor que se perpetuam, alheios às regras impostas pelas medidas cronológicas.

Que nossos corações sejam capazes de transcender a fugacidade dos momentos e, assim, estaremos imunes às limitações temporais que um dia nos separaram. E quem sabe, em meio a esse labirinto de segundos, possamos reencontrar a eternidade que só o verdadeiro amor pode proporcionar.

David Saul Acosta is a first generation college graduate and working professional from Miami, Florida.

He has a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from the University of Miami and is currently pursuing a Masters in International Relations from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

He currently serves on the Council of Student Sustainability Leaders at Harvard University and recently concluded a climate leadership fellowship from Nudge Impact in The Hague, Netherlands.

In 2019, GreenBiz, one of the leading conveners of knowledge and innovation in the climate field, recognized David as an Emerging Leader for his work on Harvard University’s Climate Leaders Program for Professional Graduate Students.

During his undergraduate studies, David interned for Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, former Chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives, and completed an internship with U.S. Senator Bob Menendez of New Jersey, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the U.S. Senate, prior to his enrollment in the International Relations Masters Program at Harvard University.

In 2021, David penned a speech on behalf of former UN Ambassador Kelly Craft for an international conference on global peace, and actively works, through professional commitments and volunteerism, for numerous organizations in the international aid and development field.
