I uh!! I love love, but at that point I don't think Gan had any left for the people in that room. I think they were alive for the same reason the kids have survived their encounters with him -- Just Gan being a a horrible cat and playing with his food, haha. If there is one thing I agree with Rauru on it's that Gan's massive (albeit not unearned) ego will always be his downfall.

And as much as I love this ship, I also don't think love would stop Nabooru from killing him at that point. That's not the person she loved anymore. It's some gruesome thing wearing what's left of his face.

I do think it would hurt her to do it, maybe irreparably, but I think that her love for her people is greater than her love for herself. She wouldn't prioritize her own heart over the wellbeing of her people. It's that kind of selfless love for others that made her a sage.

The only thing that would stay her hand would be hope. Hope that he's not really gone, hope that he could still recover from this, hope that things could still be okay and they could go home again. But I think that by that point she didn't have any hope left for him. The reality of it was ugly and grim and there is no saving someone who does not want to be saved.

What ultimately separates them is that Ganondorf can kill out of anger. He might hesitate, he might hurt, he might have to shut his heart completely off and fill his blood with ice first, but he can absolutely do it. Nabooru can't. She couldn't kill him for revenge. Even if they were evenly matched, even if she had the chance, she couldn't do it. Not for herself.

However, if the choice came down to letting him live or protecting her people; her friends, her family? She would rip that man's heart from his chest and eat it in front of god and everybody.
