How do I describe what I’m feeling? Itchy without the itch? Skin splitting apart? Bones growing longer? Feeling the reverse of a fresh shave? Antsy beyond relief? Organs greatly expanding? Jawbones clicking and snapping? Biting my tongue and cheeks with daggers growing out from inside my gums? Muscles intwining between my bones becoming unfathomably strong?
I breath deeper, clearer, and can see through the darkness of the nighttime currently befalling my side of the sun. But I can’t go anywhere, I’m cursed to shuffle around on my bed and make snuffed out sounds desperate to escape my throat until the feeling passes, and I’m pained and delicate and once again a part of humankind squinting through the sunrise peering in through my window.

Things that make me feel invalid as an alterbeing/alterhuman:
Still calling myself human, person, etc when I don't identify as human
Having animalistic urges when I don't even have a species
Actually enjoying being alterhuman and not being a living hell for me

( 🐺 ) hieralupus
Tumblr media
[ id 1: a flag with five horizontal stripes, in the following colors: mossy green, green-ish white, light brown, black and gray. /End id ]
-> definition: an identity related to the social hierarchy of wolves proposed by Rudolph Schenkel in 1947, which has since been debunked. This hierarchy consists of alpha wolves at the top, betas in the middle, and omegas at the bottom. It's still believed to be true today, and is commonly used in novels with werewolves or other wolf related creatures. Therefore, some people may identify with the concept due to being alterhuman, etc.
People may also identify themselves with the concept due to self image and neurodivergency, how they interact with society, having an interest in wolves, and more. This may be similar to a gender or affect one's gender, which could make it a neogender or a menre. It can also be related to one's orientation, attraction, affinity, etc.
-> etymology: hierarchy + lupus ( wolf: latin )
-> disclaimer: this is not related to paraphilias or kinks. This is also not related to the belief in "alpha males" and such, which is incredibly misogynistic, fatphobic/misic, and more.
( 🐺 ) alpha, beta & omega
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ id 1: a flag with five horizontal stripes, in the following colors: light warm brown, warm white, soft red, black and gray. /End id ]
[ id 2: a flag with five horizontal stripes, in the following colors: light green-ish brown, green-ish white, green, black and gray. /End id ]
[ id 3: a flag with five horizontal stripes, in the following colors: light warm brown, green-ish white, blue, black and gray. /End id ]
-> definitions: alphalupus, betalupus and omegalupus are the hieralupus subtypes for alpha, beta and omega wolves respectively.
-> flag meanings: red was used for alphas to denote aggression, anger and dominance. Green was used for beta as an in-between, to show calmness, agility and work. Blue was used for omega to contrast with red and to show fear, subordinance and weakness.

I miss nature. I hope I can visit again this summer, reconnect. I love technology, don't get me wrong, but there's that special feeling of being surrounded by trees that you can't just will into existence. It's constructed by years of the earth simply being the earth. 🌲🌿🌱

You know how otherkin have /kin/ at the end of their kintypes, like wolfkin or crowkin? What's the equivalent of that with otherhearted? I've heard the term "kith" used on some occasions (wolfkith, crowkith) Or would you used"hearted"(Wolfhearted, crowhearted)?
hearted is the most common one, but kith is also one the has been used. I personally prefer hearted, its easier to understand.

Hello!
I just created this tumblr to post and reblog about therianthropy. I identify as as a mustelid and I’m a suntherian. I am a wolverine (questioning) and a river otter (lontra canadensis possible species). I have been around the community for about three years, lurking around tumblr’s therian blogs and on some forums as well. I am very strongly wolf-hearted (or wolfkith). It is something I still struggle with, it is still difficult for me to know where to draw the line at times since they are part of me as well. Anyway that’s all! I will be reblogging nature, landscapes, art and plenty of wolverines and otters I guess, therian posts and other animals.

Taking a shower after a long day of playing out in the outdoors is so therapeutic. I get dirt in my hair and mud caked on my paws, leaves speckling my fur like filthy emeralds. Yet my fiery eyes and wild spirit calm down after entering my human abode. As I watch the remnants of nature wash clean from my body, I remanence on the freeness I felt.
I dry myself off, and yearn for my next trip outside.

I’m so glad I finally discovered which wolf species I am a while ago, I wanted to share a few facts about it! I am an Alexander Archipelago Wolf.
Tumblr media
The Alexander Archipelago Wolf, also known as the Islands Wolf, is a genetically distinct coastal subspecies of Grey Wolf found in the southeast Alaskan islands commonly known as the Alexander Archipelago. Their habitat is dense, undeveloped forest with an abundance of wildlife for food sources. Old-growth forest is also critical to providing proper wolf denning sites. Eighty percent of the wolves' habitat is within the boundaries of the Tongass National Forest.
Typically dark grey, black, or brown with short coarse fur, these wolves are known to primarily feed on Sitka black-tailed deer and salmon, but will also eat beaver, mountain goats, moose. They feed opportunistically on harbor seals, mustelids, small mammals, birds, and even marine invertebrates. They are around 2 feet tall, 3.5 feet in length, and usually weigh between 30-50 pounds, which is smaller than most wolves.
An official memorandum issued by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game estimated the population to number only 89 wolves in the fall of 2014, down from 221 the prior year — although the number could be as low as 50. Female wolves were said to have been particularly hard-hit; data in the report show that, as of fall 2014, only 7 to 32 females were left. That being said, Alexander Archipelago wolves are considered to be one of the rarest wolf species in the world.
