Wool coats are literally the best inventions in the world. Standing in a cold, wet field for 3 days and I’m unbothered, I’m dry, I’m comfy. I live next to the sea and around this time of year the weather gets Wild. Besides the ocean spray, the mist from the river, there’s hale, pelting rain and chronic Dampness. But when I’m in my big Navy peacoat, I’m untouchable. Comfy, warm, it’s 20lbs, dries easily and the best invention ever

Femme Fatale Guide: How To Master An "Effortlessly Elegant" & Put-Together Look
Table of Contents:
Treat your skin like royalty
Take ample care of your natural hair
Dress in crisp neutral outfits that cater to your body shape
Choose your accessories wisely
Embrace feature-enhancing makeup
Keep your nails clean, filed, and simple
Regarding your signature scent(s)
Follow your dental & bodily hygiene routines religiously
Treat your skin like royalty:
Use high-quality skincare twice a day
Wear sunscreen every day
Remove your makeup every night before bed no matter what
Use makeup that doesn't clog your pores/irritate your skin
Change your pillowcases weekly
Eat plenty of produce & drink lots of water
Prioritize sleep
Limit or eliminate alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine, and processed foods/sugary drinks
Keep your skin exfoliated/derma-planed
Take ample care of your natural hair:
Use high-quality shampoo/conditioner combos that suit your hair type & don't cause build-up
Hydrate with a scalp mask 1-4 times a month
Use cold or lukewarm water to wash your hair
Apply shampoo to the roots/hair covering your scalp and conditioner only on the "ponytail" section of your hair
Use a specialty hair towel after getting out of the shower
Always comb wet hair and brush 1-3 times a day when dry
Limit heat on your hair when possible & always use a heat protectant every time you do
Use non-elastic or silk hair ties
Get regular trims at least 3-4 times per year (get your hair layered if it's very thick)
Try to limit how much you dye or, especially bleach, your hair and do elaborate styles with tons of heat & harsh products
Dress in crisp neutral outfits that cater to your body shape:
Embrace minimalist basics (tees, tanks, blouses, sweaters, jeans, trousers, blazers, leather jackets, coats, etc.) in high-quality fabrics (Pima cotton, Merino wool, Tencel, mulberry silk, etc.)
Choose options in black, white, grey, charcoal beige, navy, burgundy, or cream depending on your skin tone and preferences
Invest in a collection of sleek footwear options (black boots, loafers, black pumps, white sneakers, etc.) in minimalist, timeless styles that suit the color palette, hemlines & proportions of your go-to outfits
Ensure your shoes and accessories feel proportional to the weight/silhouette of your outfit, color-coordinate with the rest of your look, and have streamlined hardware from head-to-toe (all silver, all gold, or one piece that mixes silver/gold and another gold & silver piece each to balance out the color palette)
Keep all of your clothes steam and lint-rolled, so they look crisp & fresh all-day
Befriend your tailor to take in or let out clothes as needed when purchased off the rack
Choose clothes/styles that flatter your body shape and proportions
Utilize belts and bra tape to adjust the waist, keep shirts tucked in, and keep straps from falling down or create an impromptu cuff/hem on your pants
When in doubt, select a neutral head-to-toe monochrome outfit
If on a budget, consider choosing black, grey, camel beige items to hide fabric imperfections that could cheapen your look
Choose your accessories wisely:
Select sleek, simple neutral (& almost exclusively) monochrome shoes made with smooth (recycled/vegan) leather with
Pair almost any outfit with a shoe featuring a slight platform, block heel, kitten heel, and/or a sharply pointed toe to elongate your silhouette
Complement your outfit with structured, pared-back handbags with no logos (Focus on quality and construction, not the brand name) in a neutral shade and timeless silhouette
For jewelry, choose at most one statement piece and all others should be focused on different areas of the body (e.g. don't mix statement earrings with layered/bold necklaces or stacked rings * bracelets). When in doubt, choose simple diamond chains or earrings, sleek bangles or chainlink necklaces & bracelets, simple pendant necklaces, and minimalist rings in hardware that all go together
Embrace feature-enhancing makeup:
Cover up any dark circles, blemishes, or hyperpigmentation with a color-matched concealer
Lightly contour with a bronzer that complements your skin tone
Fill in your brows for a naturally full look (or get them professionally tinted)
Apply a light wash of rose, coral, or mauve blush
Use black mascara with a little bit of eyeliner and/or a subtle wash of brown eyeshadow on the lids
Apply a "your lips but better" nude shade or "just kissed' berry lipstick or pigmented lip balm for a subtle wash of color
Keep your nails clean, filed, and simple:
Maintain cut, cleaned, and filed short nails
Opt for a square or almond nail shape
Choose a timeless nail shade (pink, nude, red, beige, dark cherry, navy, dark purple, black) with no nail art
Hydrate your hands and scrub under your nails daily
Regarding your signature scent(s):
Ensure your body wash/lotion and perfume scents don't clash
Test perfumes for a trial day to ensure they smell divine with your unique pheromones
Choose a fragrance appropriate for the seasonal/occasion
Apply a dab on each wrist and on your neck/behind the ears. If the scent doesn't project well on you, try applying these small dabs on the cuffs and shoulders of your jacket/walk into it to get it on your hair (if it would stain your clothes)
Don't layer more than one heady perfume at a time or scents that don't have complementary and/or shared notes
Follow your dental & bodily hygiene routines religiously:
Floss every day (after each meal if possible)
Brush your teeth with an electric toothbrush twice a day
Have mints on hand if you're a garlic, spice, or coffee lover
Keep your lips & hands well-moisturized and protected with SPF
Shower your body daily and be extra diligent in scrubbing your privates, everything behind, and under your arms
Don't use very hot water in the shower (it burns/dries out your skin)
Exfoliate 2-3 times a week with a sugar scrub
Moisturize daily or anytime you get out of the shower
Apply SPF on any exposed sun (especially in the summer or when the UV index is high in your area)

The Corinthian looks (part I)
Tumblr media
Daddy goes to work
Light wool blazer and a light blue checked cotton shirt: the good family man look, perfect for going to work, be it interviewing sweet old ladies while sipping tea or giving motivational speeches to professional serial killers. Like most Corinthian outfits, it's casual, tasteful but discreet: after all, if you are a very tall predator with big dark glasses, you tend to avoid excesses at least in your clothing. Not a great fan of this office look but I still can enjoy a nice view of his neck.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Into the woods
Boyd succeeded in making me appreciate one of the color combinations I hated the most: black and brown (Mr. Holbrook also succeeded to make me love a blonde actor, but that's another story). Outfit coordinated with the surrounding forest, the wooden benches, even with the ice cream. Perfect for a pleasant picnic in nature after exterminating your new godson's foster family. Too much ton sur ton for my tastes but these kinds of jackets suit his looong legs so well: shantay, you stay!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The white duke
This is extremely minimal and extremely sophisticated! A white/grey wool trench coat with a light sweater of the same color: the perfect counterpart, aesthetically and symbolically, to Dream's black outfit. For me, this is the look that brings out the most the Corinthian's association with the color white (as well as beautifully enhancing his long neck, which is always a pleasure to see). Is sexy, is dangerous, my favorite with the next one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Berliner
No notes. Pure absolute perfection. Stiff starched collar shirt, cream-coloured tailored jacket and trousers, black vest, pocket watch, pocket square, straw hat that is very summer in Florence, super fancy octagonal glasses, pin on the tie....an over-rich but classy dandy! It's by far his most brazen and conspicuous look, full of accessories and details in the latest fashion of the time. I will come back to this to make a more in-depth analysis, for the moment I like to note that, unlike his modern clothes, which tend to be rather discreet, this one does not go unnoticed. Walk walk fashion baby!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The slutty killer
This image is branded in my mind from the first moment I saw it, so objectivity of judgement is definitely compromised. A rather sporty sweater over classic black trousers (still brown and black, a choice that in other cases I would have found questionable but which I strongly appreciate here). I think the white/grey thench coat does not exactly match here but is perfect for concealing weapons. The knife shoulder holster is there both for practicality and, most important, to awaken unsuspected kink in the viewer.
Tumblr media
The dark knight
I love the Corinthian dressed in white but even more so dressed in black: unfortunately, a moment too brief to fully appreciate him with that long coat that looks like it was taken directly from Dream's wardrobe.
Tumblr media
It's midnight but I'm still working
Another office look (after all, he is technically at work although as a freelancer). Striped shirt, definitely my least favorite.

also, excited for other new outfits for five in s4 as it is kind of confirmed to leaks and official pictures that the season will also play in winter. at least i think he would be wearing something else... or? or will he walk around with his suit even in the snow? 😂
I have decided it will be a three piece suit but padded. Think puffercoat material waistcoat, trousers and blazer with snowboots. 😆
I think he would look awesome in tweed or wool though...a nice suit and long coat.
"I'M NOT WALKING THOUGH THAT SNOWDRIFTT, DEIGO. DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THIS SUIT COST? THESE SHOES ARE DIOR, IDIOT!"

Elena Dawson: The Art of Artisanal Fashion
Today's blog post marks a special moment for me. Not only because it's my first on Shifting Patterns, but also because I deeply admire and enjoy the work of this designer. So much so that my wife and I even got married in her garments. Today, I want to introduce you to Elena Dawson.
Tumblr media
Elena Dawson, a London-born fashion designer for menswear and womenswear, keeps much of her personal life under wraps. There's no existing website anymore, and her former blog is no longer accessible. Only a Instagram account with a couple of posts and a contact email serves as a point of contact. It all somewhat reminds of the enigmatic Paul Harnden, doesn't it? But we'll get to that later. She studied Art and Fashion Design at the University of Brighton and worked as a seamstress after completing her degree. At that time, she said, "I draw on the knowledge I learned at the tailors still now in the way I make clothing."
In 2000, she co-founded the clothing line "Paul Harnden Clothiers" with her ex-partner Paul Harnden. She was an integral part of the design, concept, and business until 2009 with Paul Harnden, who was primarily known under the name "Paul Harnden Shoemakers" until then, when she decided to establish her own clothing and shoe label in East Sussex. Her studio is located there as well. Despite Dawson's departure, Paul Harnden's ready-to-wear collections continue to this day. Since 2009, the brand has naturally grown, but Dawson still produces her clothes and shoes herself, supported by a small team. Everything is produced in-house in multiple studio spaces, but all is handmade.
Tumblr media
The aesthetic of Dawson's work at Paul Harnden and her own brand has definitely evolved over the years. Paul Harnden, who is now known not only for his shoes but also for his blazers/jackets, coats, trousers, and shirts, has a rather clean cut and neatly sewn edges. On the other hand, Elena Dawson has a rather rough look and is known for her unfinished seams with dangling fabric scraps. It's sometimes hard to describe, but she has a very romantic, poetic, Victorian look that partly reminds me of Tim Burton movies.
When I put on one of her beloved blazers, I often feel like a part of Bertolt Brecht's Threepenny Opera, almost like a wardrobe from the 19th century. I own 2 blazers (linen and wool), 1 linen shirt, 2 pants (linen and cotton), and silk accessories from Dawson. My wife has a mix of a coat and dress. All her clothes are labelled with the classic "Elena Dawson - Made In England" label and the washing/material information written in her really unreadable handwriting with a Sharpie.
Tumblr media
The coats and blazers (mostly) feature beige/white cotton lining, and the classic look, often seen online, is achieved by rolling the sleeves backward, exposing the lining through the open seams. She works with a dress form, sculpturing everything, and only uses natural materials. Her favorites are English wool, Indian cotton, Irish linen, and Chinese silk. She describes her work as follows: "When you work on alterations you are really tearing the guts out of the garment, performing a sort of autopsy—you really get to see a garment at its most vulnerable point. Observing this state of semi-deconstruction in the making of a garment or shoe is what I like to retain in my finished work."
You'll rarely get the chance to buy her pieces online, as there are hardly any retailers offering her items online. She mentioned: "We don't do much press or social media work and we don't sell online at all. I'm not against that. It's just not the brand's main job." Elena Dawson limits the maximum order quantity and carefully chooses her retailers. She prefers to keep the brand small, and even on classic online platforms like Grailed, Vestiaire Collective, or eBay, you won't find many of her items used.
Tumblr media
I highly recommend visiting a retailer near you for the experience alone and trying on the clothes in-store. In my case, it's Harvey's in Berlin. However, the most well-known point of sale is probably Dover Street Market in London, with whom she has a strong relationship, as Dover Street Market has actively supported her brand from the beginning, granting her a significant presence there. In Tokyo, I was also able to find her pieces at DSM and at the Comme des Garcons Pocket Store.
The result is garments full of personality that evolve over time alongside one's own personality, incomparable to any other looks consumed and worn nowadays. Each piece, crafted by her hands, is unique, and I'll tell you, the first time I wore an Elena Dawson blazer at Harvey's in Berlin, it resonated with me. The look, the weight, the fit… it felt like a second skin, and over the course of 2 years, seeing how it aged with me, it became more like an extension of myself each day.
Tumblr media
Here's to Elena — may your artistic journey continue to inspire and captivate for years to come!

vague attempt at sewing accountability - pinned purely for my own convenience
currently work in progress (as of like, the past month) aka things I really should be working on
toile de jouy birds blouse (hem, attach sleeves)
one of two different flower prints that need to become cute sundresses
(Arthur) Morgan selvedge jeans which I interrupted cause it got too hot and I had to make shorts (the jeans pattern is literally called Morgan and I'll be adding a deer antler detail as an Rdr2 reference so yeah those are my Arthur Morgan jeans)
tailored burgundy/black herringbone tweed blazer (sewing class project to be finished some time in uh, the next two years, now semi-on hold as I wait for next round of sewing classes)
things I’m about to start any moment now
linen pantsuit with pleated-front trousers
reddish trousers with lace details
turquoise blouse from that jacquard fabric with those pleated sleeves
Minor fixes and improvements
Redo cuffs on the turtle sweater cause those are a mess
Add back pockets to shorts
Pockets, maybe new neck band, maybe cuffs for cute flower sweatshirt
Red top: shorten straps, tops titch neckline
Add sleeves to x-wing dress
the ancient pile of WIP shame
dusty pink trench coat
blue dancing dress with internal corsety structure
1890s waistcoat
various underthings (I think there’s a corset somewhere in the mix there?)
black linen pirate shirt of that one bernadette banner video
art nouveau print kimono jacket
fabric bits and bobs
light blue bouclé fabric that I bought way too much of so it needs to be come like at least a dress AND a chanel jacket (or maybe a jumpsuit?)
at least two different flower prints that need to become cute sundresses (one now upgraded to WIP)
pink skirt with sort of indian-inspired embroidery to be turned into a dress with that dark green fabric and the other gold embroidered ribbon
red/grey wool to be made into that long sleeve dress from the Burda mag OR a matching fan skirt and waistcoat?
navy linen that might be enough for a pair of pants?
various some time in the future things
take pattern off of that one zara jacket, remake it in proper grey tweed
fan skirt?
some sort of regency-ish cutaway jacket type thing
like half the things on https://blacksnailpatterns.com/ especially those bicycle trousers and the 1890s coat with the only slightly puffed sleeves
also I guess I need a blouse to go with the 1890s vest?
turnable bomber jacket (use that polyester brocade I have? With different fabric for sleeves?)
kids clothes for L (still need to discuss details)
do that same cute sweatshirt from sewing class again in black&white with 3/4 sleeves and a sort of stand up collar
That 1930s dramatic top with cape
black or grey pencil skirt
maybe cut off the top of that dotted dress that doesn't quite fit and turn it into a skirt?
leather belt bag/fanny pack/satchel kinda thing?
cat print t-shirt put on hold for now
sailor's smock in dry oilskin (to be done for tall ship races 2024?)
done
jean shorts, may add pockets some time in future
super cute flowery sweatshirt w/pattern from sewing class
rose print dress
x-wing flower print swing dress with 50s shawl collar (high urgency, needs to be done for gamescom)

Next style guide 🥺
For you,my muse:
Carolyn Bessette
She was a publicist at Calvin Klein when she met the king of prep, my personal hearthrob, JFK Junior. I love this deatched vibe that you get from her and well JFK Junior got that too from her. I  loved her because she gotJFK Jr but I love her even more because she has never not looked good.
Carolyn’s style in three words would be simple, androgynous and straightforward. She doesn’t venture into anything too colourful or too risque but that is what works with her look and why she looks good all the time. Her style is a result of having a solid capsule wardrobe with items she van rotate throughout the year. But her capsule wardrobe is slightly different from the modern 2020 capsule wardrobe. What I love about Carolyn is the lack of blazers. Instead she uses long coats, long sleeved knits or she just goes sleeveless. Constantly wearing a blazer (imo) isn’t as stylish as people think it is, it is very easy to use a blazer as a scapegoat when you know your outfit is heading south. Sure, there isn’t alot of variety  in her style but that 'simpleness' is what looks good on her and her commitent to that, is why she looked good all the time.
The basics of her style is a button down, trousers and loafers. In most of her pap photographs she is wearing a variation of this. During warmer months, she switches to a silk skirt. She wasn’t a accessoriezer either or a makeup girlie. Infact in most of her pictures she is only sporting red lipstick and her hair either out and in a bun.
Regardless she has the coolness about her and she complimented JFK Jr well... a lot of people did not think so but I say she did.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How to dress like Carolyn Bessette in..
Autumn/Winter?
Tumblr media
Long silhouettes work beautifully during winter. Long A-line coats made with good quality wool are some of the best types of coats. Thicker knits layered on top of each other paired with structured trousers. I like to advise my friends to keep their knits and cardigan loongg. Long shilotues are very pleasing to the eye, it makes you look more uniform and it makes you look taller with a silmming effect.  If you are petite and/or you have a large bust, avoid crowding your neck with knitwear. High necks tend to make women with bigger bust look congested and stuffy. ( It also gives us the most unforgiving uniboob too) Try more v-line neckline or scoop neckline with knits, also I tend to avoid thick knits as the volume of the fabric makes me look clunky and not oversized chic.
Tumblr media
In a style where everything is so consistent, colour is how you are going to look different. You would think people would wear darker, rich colours in the colder months but they don’t. There is no need to be mono-chromatic all the time and again being dressed in mono-chromatic head to toe, isn’t the hallmark of good style. Carolyn used a lot of red to stop her outfits from looking repetitive. I think red is avery underrated colour. You only ever see it in lingere or silk-satin dresses because people only associate sensuality with red and compelty ignore that red also means power. Red in coats has the power to draw you in becuase you look different but the sleekness of your style isn’t screaming clown from the travelling circus but powerful lady coming through.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Carolyn (i say as we were besties) loved wearing loafers. I think she wore them a lot because loafers show skin which helps break up an outfit. Because she wears a lot of long silhouettes and matching dark trousers and dark footwear, it is good to wear something that breaks up your body so you don’t look like a long line with no feet. Ballet flats are coming back and they do the same thing as well. Boots are another staple. I love pairing boots and long dress together. For the Carolyn Bessette look I would ditch the bratz esque knee high boots for something that is more loose with a moderate heel height.
Spring? Summer?
Personally, I am resortwear kind of girl. Heavily perfumes, heavily adorned and in soft fluttering fabrics is how you will find me. But Carolyn, nope. She still maintains those structures in her clothing choice during the summer months. Boxy oversized shorts, structured linen shorts (I highly reccomend everyont to have one pair in cream or beige, its such an essential), sandals, chinos, ribbed cami and silk-satin dresses that end just under your knee.
Hamptons chic is her summer style. Linen, cotton and merino wool for the chiller knits. This is the time to wear the lighter colours of your favourite colours. If you want (and Carolyn did this) you can wear the same ensemble of an outfit but with lighter fabrics.
What I have noticed that is different in her spring/summer style and her autumn/winter is that there is a certain laissez-faire in her dressing style. Top buttons are undone, her hair is messier and she is relaxed. Her hair was always unkept but I think that really worked for her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brands to get inspo for  Carolyn’s style: Iris & Ink, Khaite, Joseph and The Row.
There is a girl on tikok who is a great person to follow if you like Carolyn’s style ( i will tag her when i find her) .
Overall her style is very model-off duty-esque. There isn't really anything that stands out about her style from the next model but her style is undeniably hers. Apart from her marriage to JFK Jr her cool style is what she is remembered for. Everyone who met her in NYC would say that her style and grace were what caught their eyes. She had a way of holding her neck eye and she has this look that nothing could truly surprise her. It was her who truly established the minimalist look when fashion was heading straight to colour, glitter and prints. I miss her and I think about her all the time and I hope as she looks down from heaven that she is the blueprint and 20 years later people still want to emulate her signature look.
Daphne xoxo

do u see my vision do u think jade would wear these
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
YES OMGG!! I would LOVE to see Jade in those!! ESPECIALLY THAT PINAFORE. THAT IS SO JADE-CODED
I also think that Jade would wear:
Maxi skirts (I think he'd have a black maxi skirt that he would wear frequently... if he got used to the amount of material)
Short-sleeved button-ups (in summer, either with light trousers or shorts. Either cotton or linen, probably.)
Cargo shorts and pants (esp. for hiking)
Wrap dresses (I think a lavender or forest green one would look STUNNING on him)
Sports coats (tweed? wool? cotton?)
Suits ^w^
BLACK. TURTLENECK. (maybe with a blazer? or under a chunky sweater, if it was a thin material?)
I also think that the things Jade likes to wear depend on the individual piece... it sounds like he has some sensory issues with clothes, so he may dislike wearing certain garments, and maybe avoid certain clothing or fabrics altogether?

PHOTOSHOOT: MARINA FOR NYLON MAGAZINE
I mean, you guys. How great does Marina look here? For Marina's ever NYLON cover, she paved her own path and went for a more retro look for the magazine.
Photography was done by Damon Baker. Styling by Santa Bevacqua and Shawna Ferguson, glam by Ozzy Salvatierra, hair (look at all those adorable pins!) by Fallon Toni Chavez and lastly, nails by Stephanie Stone.
Tumblr media
I love how fresh, confident, retro, fit and coiffed up she is here for this spread.
For the cover look, we got Marina in a Dior Pre-Fall 2015 white, beige, orange & black striped rib stretch woven sweater with turtleneck design.
Tumblr media
You know how much I love a good mish-mash of pieces that create one look together.
Her coat and skirt belong to Fall/Winter 2015 collections. The first one is by Holly Fulton and is the Gaze repeat print silk and wool coat with red Mongolian fur collar and cuffs, while the latter hails from the French house of Vionnet and is a plaid maxi skit with electric-blue mohair strips and delicate black lace panels.
Underneath her coat M wears the Fortnight Fall/Winter 2014 Vega demi bra made from their signature chevron jacquard lace!
Tumblr media
The third look is from Emilio Pucci's Pre-Fall 2015 lookbook. I could totally see the majority of this collection on Marina for this particular shoot but I'm glad they went with one of my favorite sets!
A striped silk dress with roomy, tunic-like silhouette with lace-up neck in striking shades of magenta, blue and pale grey ($1,520.00 - sold out). Of course, she also rocked the matching flared trousers ($554.00 - sold out).
Tumblr media
Throughout the shoot, Marina rocks the Cartier Amulette de Cartier 18k rose-gold band ring with malachite and brilliant-cut diamond of 0.09 carats.
Tumblr media
Add one more fun printed ensemble to Marina's spread with NYLON.
This 70s-inspired chevron multi metallic jacquard coat with contrasting black panels ($1,540.00 - sold out) and matching flare pants ($495.00 - sold out) hail from Giambattista Valli's Pre-Fall 2015 lookbook – an ode to 1970s icon Mariana Schiano!
Tumblr media
The clever play with prints is truly something to be adored.
For the final look our girl looks more than amazing in this diagonally striped silk jacquard blazer ($2,285.00 - sold out) and culottes pulled straight from Dsquared²'s Pre-Fall 2015 collection!
Underneath, Marina rocked a silk blouse version of DKNY's Laura bandana print flare dress.
Tumblr media
Marina injected even more fun into her outfit with the shoe department!
The appropriately named Solar strappy sandals are from Charlotte Olympia. I love the typical Charlotte quirk factor on these stunners!

So I posted about my Strixhaven characters, but I also decided (with the permission from my DM) to design some uniform flat lays. I also chose a purple, grey and ivory colour scheme to try and keep it neutral and not of any particular college.
I started with robes paired with Turkish şalvar and hakama. From there I moved onto a more suit style with some trousers, skirt and boots. Of course you need a nice jacket or blazer to go with it so I drew them up as well as a nice wool lined coat, gloves, mittens and hat.
Then I designed some cloaks with closure pins emblazoned with each of the Strixhaven College emblems.
Finally I put together two miscellany pages of the various items I thought the average Strixhaven student might have I'm their inventory like books, ink, scales, aprons, scroll holders, book bags etc.
What do you guys think?

✘✘✘ Note: this is fairly common in District-3 and some parts of The Main Town.
For a masculine option:
҉ A fitted, knee-length tunic made of heavy wool or linen in a dark color.
҉ high collar and long, white/black fitted sleeves
҉ Fitted woolen or linen trousers or leggings in a matching dark color
҉ Leather boots or shoes with a low heel for comfort and good traction
҉ A thick, leather cloak/blazer or a thick, fur-lined cloak or hooded coat to keep warm
҉ A leather belt with a metal buckle to cinch the tunic at the waist
For a feminine option:
҉ A long-sleeved, high-necked dress made of cotton or linen in a dark color, with a fitted bodice and flowing skirt. Though it is encouraged to wear pants due to better mobility. It is rare to choose a dress but the option isn't frowned upon.
҉ A matching cotten-wool blend or linen underskirt or petticoat
҉ Leather boots or shoes with a low heel for comfort and good traction
҉ A thick, leather cloak/blazer or a thick, fur-lined cloak or hooded coat to keep warm
҉ A leather belt with a metal buckle to cinch the waist of the dress
✘✘✘ Note: it is advisable to remove the ''thick, fur-lined cloak/hooded coat'' for practicality during combat. These are an option as the IF goes on outside Tournament/battle grounds so it won't be an issue to wear unpractical clothing.
