Yandere Platonic Shadow the hedgehog(Boom) with reader being controlled by Lyric

I'm not familiar with Sonic Boom, but I watched cutscenes from Rise of Lyric and Shattered Crystal so hopefully that'll do?

Well, if Shadow was mad when he found out Lyric was controlling him... he'd be even more mad if you were under his control too.

Boom! Shadow is probably the most aggressive version of Shadow I've seen.

He's blunt, aggressive, uncaring, and arrogant.

He disposes of anyone who gets in his way.

He's selfish and out of ant of the Boom characters, he may be the most likely to kill.

He lacks a general interest in anything and often acts calm when not pursuing a goal.

Shadow is independent and sees friendship as a weakness...

Despite this Shadow and you have managed to form something similar to a friendship with each other.

You allow him to do his own thing and he has soft spot towards you.

Shadow has also been shown to be vengeful.

He hates that Lyric controlled him and focuses on getting revenge for it.

That makes him bad enough.

But when he sees that very same mind control device on you?

Team Sonic notes that it looks like something snaps in Shadow when he sees such a thing.

Shadow always tries to downplay your friendship to others.

He feels he's superior to you like he is with Sonic, he doesn't care about friendship.

Yet he blows off such a facade the moment he sees you in such a state.

He wastes no time breaking off the device from your head and smashing and robots that come near you.

It's like there's a feral anger in his eyes when he walks away from the rubble.

You're stunned and surprised when Shadow stands over you.

He checks to see if anyone is looking before helping you up.

"Lyric did this to you, didn't he?"

You don't even need to answer, he already knows.

Shadow may not be the most caring character but he does check in on you.

He now has another reason to get revenge on Lyric.

Although before he leaves, he unexpectedly pulls you into a hug.

He's shaking in what you assume to be anger... yet it's also relief.

He's happy you're no longer controlled.

Shadow would hide you somewhere you can't be hurt before heading off to take on Lyric.

You can imagine that after you being hurt, not just Shadow, Lyric is in for a wild time.

I have a feeling Shadow isn't going to settle for just throwing the snake out of an airlock.

He plans to beat him to a pulp... he wants to stain his gloves in the blood of that snake...

He wants him dead.

Sonic may try to stop him, but Shadow pushes him aside.

No... Lyric will pay.

He will pay with his life.

By the time Shadow comes back, who knows what state he's in?

Maybe he comes back covered in blood?

You don't know if you want to ask what happened or not.

Does it make it any better when he tells you he took care of the issue for you?

His quills are covered in the stuff... his gloves are too...

His eyes... they stare into you with a cooling rage and... adoration.

"You're safe now."

His grin is smug... he's satisfied with what he's done.

You stare at him terrified.

"He can't hurt you anymore... you're lucky to have someone like me, aren't you?"

Yandere Boom!Sonic and Boom!Metal Sonic Headcanons

Hoo boy this one was harder than I thought it would be, and my life got a tad busier than I thought it would, but finally I can post this, hope you enjoy! CW: mentions of kidnapping and murder Boom!Sonic

He’s a lot more sarcastic and subtle when it comes to his feelings. It’s mostly like how the main canon version would act when he wants you to see him as the coolest, just that bumped up to 11. This will in turn makes him a bit less affectionate that counterpart. This doesn’t mean he doesn’t show that he cares about you, he always checks up on you after every fight with Eggman, which in this universe is in a daily basis. This helps him have an excuse to hang out with you, even if just for a bit. After all, gotta make sure all of Eggman’s robots have been destroyed, can’t have one roaming around free and hurting (you) people. 

Any funny shenanigans he and his friends might get involved in will end up you getting involved, mostly because Sonic suggested getting your help for whatever they were doing that day (he won’t admit it was his idea tho, he’ll probably say it was Amy or Tails). At first, there’s no harm to this, just impromptu adventures that make your life more interesting. Yet, it doesn’t take too long for these “adventures” to start only involving you two in more isolated areas, where you basically just watch him showing off how cool he is. At a certain point, you’ll just encounter him everywhere, and while logic might tell you that you shouldn’t be surprised since it’s a small village after all, you can’t shake off the feeling that something about all of this is a bit ominous.

He’s probably way better (or worse) at making up excuses on the spot than his mainline counterpart, if main canon Sonic memorized every excuse in the book, then it’s the same book his Boom counterpart wrote. He was in the same shop of a certain thing you know you enjoy but Sonic would never? Well, one of his friends asked him for something from that shop. You’ve been feeling like you’re being followed lately, now worries, Sonic can check real quick and he can’t find anyone. Someone left a gift outside your door? Weird, it has that thing you wanted to get your hand on but you only told Sonic about it, yet he has an air-tight alibi of why it wasn’t him. If only you knew he lies as naturally as he breathes.

Even with how small the village is, it’s inevitable that you’ll have other friends outside of him and his friend group. This version of Sonic is a lot more subtle when it comes to his jealousy. At first he’ll seemingly just try to deny he’s jealous, and failing miserably leading to a bit of teasing from you or his friends. Yet a few days later, after Eggman ran away from yet another failed attempt of defeating Sonic and his friends, cheer quickly turns to terror as a dead body is found. The villagers are quick to panic and to point their fingers to Eggman, yet, you can’t help but feel that there is something else going on. You won’t have much time to think about that and Sonic drags you along yet another adventure.

Kidnapping? Please, why would he need that here? There’s nothing beyond that tiny village you two are in, there’s nowhere else for you to run, so don’t even think about it. Just enjoy the rest of your days as you get involved into whatever Sonic drags you into, and don’t think too deeply about why the person you talked to yesterday suddenly disappeared without a trace. Or why another one has injuries that look as if they were made by quills instead of machine claws. Sonic killing some villagers? As if, besides who would ever believe such an outlandish theory? He’s the hero, so get those petty little ideas out of your head.

Boom!Metal Sonic

With how often Eggman attacks that village, it is somewhat hard to notice how Metal Sonic has been coming alongside him more and more, as it happens gradually. Something that is obvious for you to notice is that you always come across him as you run away from Eggman’s robots. Yet he never attacks you for some reason, opting lo leave shortly after to fight Sonic. You can’t stop thinking about those robotic, emotionless eyes staring deep into your soul, it’s like you can feel them even when you know no one is there. Your friends and family try their best to help you distract yourself from that feeling but you can’t…and maybe you’re not as crazy as you think

While he is fiercely loyal to Eggman, he uses what free time he gets to…observe you, for a lack of a better word. He makes sure to gather as much data as he can about you: your routine, likes, dislikes, and…any potential obstacles you consider “people close to you”. To get him off of you will be quite the task, he’s just as fast as the real Sonic, plus being mechanical and more silent. Figuring out from where he’s watching you would be a pain, but actually managing to make him lose track of you? I wish you all the luck in the world dear, you’re gonna need it. Especially in that tiny village.

If you have the terrible luck of getting caught in middle of the crossfire with no where to run, you’ll get to see him spare at glance at you before going back to fighting. However, you can notice how he becomes more…unhinged, feral even. Even when it comes to Sonic with whom he already has some beef with, fights against the metallic copy becomes harder for the heroes, as Metal goes from hard to deal with to the heroes barely making it out alive. Once Eggman is defeated, Metal Sonic will retreat alongside his creator, but you should probably stay away from Metal Sonic if he’s involved in a fight, unless you want this tiny village to be reduced to a mountain of corpses

Metal Sonic would turn your life into a living nightmare rather quickly. It’s a shame really, you would wake up a day like any other and go out just to live yet another boring day of your life…Yet you can’t feel a sense of dread in the air, and when you get close to opening the door of your house to go out, you can smell something rotting just outside. As you open the door, it bumps into something, and when you decide to take a look of what it is, you find a body lying there, beaten up and slashed to a bloody mess. As the authorities arrive the crimes thankfully cannot be linked back at you, but you’ll soon find everyone avoiding you like the plague.

While the canon version of Metal Sonic would not have taken this long before any kidnapping happened, the Boom version probably would’ve needed to wait for an opportunity to make sure no one was around to see where he would take you. One day you’ll just see how those cold machine eyes look at you as he knocks you out and snatches you somewhere only he knows. As much as the robot might hate to admit it, perhaps he shares more with the meat bag version of himself, wanting your praise and admiration as he brings in a copious amount of various gifts. He worked so hard to get them you know? That item over there was the last one in stock and it was hard to get to it without being spotted, and that guy over there was much harder to kill than he thought it would, but he was still able to bring back the body as a trophy. So please tell him he’s the best, and that he’s the only one you need.

NOTE: This was originally supposed to be posted yesterday but I re-edited it and now it's 400 words longer. I think it was for the best as I prefer this version better. By the way, I love boom knuckles but he was difficult to write for, so I truly hope I didn't disappoint!

◇ As Knuckles mostly hangs out with Sonic and the others, your friendship either begins after several encounters in the village or you happen to be someone he saves multiple times. No matter the situation, after seeing you around, Knuckles will say hello and strike up a conversation. With a friendly personality and his own charm, you two become friends. He’s very attached from the very start, even before his obsession fully formed. If you told others that you two only became friends recently, they would be surprised as it seemed like the two were childhood friends.

◇ Everything is relatively normal, with Knuckles occasionally roping you into his antics or Eggman ruining your hangouts with the group. Either way, things are perfect. But just as quickly the two of you became friends, his obsession and attachment towards you grows. You haunt every thought in his head, always having him wondering where you are or what you’re up to, even during the middle of battle. While he was attached to you, his obsession with you didn’t begin until he began feeling respected by you. The echidna warrior is treated as a joke even by his friends or Dr. Eggman merely because he doesn’t understand things quickly. Whether it be due to him not knowing something, misunderstanding, he’s referred to as someone who’s as ‘dumb as a rock’. Sure, he felt bad but he never knew the true extent of how the treatment affected him until you stood up for him; telling the others to either knock it off or just reassure him that he wasn’t stupid just because he didn’t understand. You didn’t make fun of him. You actually respected him. He even gives you the title as his ‘favorite best friend’, only solidifying his attachment towards you. How sweet.

◇ Whether he messes up or he feels bad after a battle, you’re always there to cheer him up. Seeing you by his side makes him strive to not give up or dwell on his previous mistakes. Knuckles even allows himself to talk about his feelings with you occasionally. He’s not used to it nor does he enjoy it, but when he’s around you he feels, strangely enough, safe. He’s not used to being vulnerable to anyone, let alone anyone he’s close to. And yet, the feeling of comfort he gets when around you becomes a driving force for Knuckle’s obsession.

◇ Knuckles’ main form of showing his gratitude is by being your self proclaimed and sole protector. Whether you’re capable of taking care of yourself during or outside of the battlefield, it doesn’t matter. You can count on him practically being a few feet behind you, any alone time you manage to get seen as a blessing. With his overprotectiveness over you, Knuckles finds himself taking any attack directed at you by Dr. Eggman. No matter how many times you tell him he doesn't have to throw himself into danger for you, expressing how you’d much rather have him not doing so, it goes in one ear and out the other. He’d happily put his life on the line for you, shouldn’t you be happy that he’s willing to do that for you? With an unwanted guilt looming over you, it overshadowed your feelings of the seemingly sweet gesture.

◇ Just as you’re there for him, Knuckles would do anything for you to show his gratitude; even if the gesture is unwarranted or a violation of your privacy, often brushing off his behavior as merely looking out for you. This includes the echidna staying by you 24/7 instead of outright stalking you. It really isn't considered an option in his head as why would he have to when he’d much rather insert himself in whatever situation you’re in? A statement proven even more truthful if you were to hang out with someone outside of your shared friend group. While subtle, Knuckles makes it a point to bad mouth your other friends, voicing how they’re not good enough for you or are just using you. You dismiss his opinions as overprotective rants, but they plant seeds of doubt into your mind about them.

◇ Having any resemblance of privacy with him is rare, which unfortunately with his own charm makes his actions seem more overbearing than with a malicious intent feeding into his infatuation. Don’t think your tech is safe either. At any chance he gets, he will look through your phone and see who you’ve been texting or what plans you’ve made with others without telling him. Knuckles will also steal any of your possessions if he can, often resorting to hiding them under a floorboard of Tails’ house; resulting in Tails often finding his tools scattered around his house. If you happen to catch Knuckled stealing from you, he immediately excuses himself by trying to find something he lent you or that he’s searching if Eggman has planted any devices at your place recently.

◇ Knuckles is usually a sweet guy but that doesn't mean he will watch you get insulted by someone. Any type of disrespect thrown your way is the equivalent of a crime in his eyes. They don’t have any right to insult someone like you; they’re much farther beneath you. Although filled with anger, he attempts to end the confrontation by slight intimidation while simultaneously being as civil as possible in front of you. His tactic often worked, having the other step down. It's no surprise as no one in the village would want to pick a fight with him. Compared to everyone on the island, Knuckles was the strongest in terms of raw strength. If they don't want to apologize or step down, Knuckles will suggest that you two just ignore them and leave. Later in the day however, he goes out on his own to hurt whoever wronged you. He always rationalizes it in his head that it was for you. He has to do anything for a friend and will do anything to prove his loyalty to himself, even if his methods are ugly and have the others question the faint blood stains on his hands.

◇ Compared to the others in the group, Knuckles is the least dangerous yandere, at least towards you. The echidna's behavior is only amplified whenever he is alone with his thoughts or whenever you wish to hang out with others outside of your shared friend group. Although not quite as dangerous, he’s prone to getting jealous easily. He hates the idea that you have other friends besides his own and attempting to have your attention on him by any means necessary. He’s an echidna warrior hailing from Angel Island and yet you want to be friends with others who aren’t as cool or strong as him? It makes a dent to his ego, the thought infuriating him to his very core. Most of the time it ends with Knuckles either storming off somewhere or sticking by your side, even if his presence is unwanted. His temper only subsides when you pay attention to him or attempt to calm him down.

◇ No matter how frustrated you may be with him, Knuckles won’t catch on until you explicitly tell him. Yet, even then he can’t comprehend that you would, or even physically could, ever be upset with him. Everything he’s done was to make sure you’re safe or because he knows what’s good for you. He’s so convinced that he isn’t doing anything wrong to the point Knuckles blames your outburst on him not prioritizing you or going as far as blaming your other friends; often opting to choose the latter as the reason. Knuckles will go on long rants about how your friends are just making you act weird, dwindling your already fragile trust with said friends until you eventually cut them off. All you can do is be miserable, Knuckles once again going on a tangent of how he knows better and that he’s glad you finally realize your other friends were never good enough for you. More often than not, it results in you two arguing over his controlling behavior.

◇ At first, his attempts of guilt tripping you are unintentional. He doesn’t realize what he’s doing until he notices the same pattern after a few arguments. Seeing how you end up feeling bad for him and begin to apologize, the echidna uses it to his advantage. He doesn’t like doing it, he really hates doing it, but he knows this is one of the only ways that will make you understand he isn’t doing anything wrong. He’s just trying to be a good friend for you, you just need him to show you in a different way. And if having to make you feel guilty is the only way it gets his point across then so be it. While it doesn’t make you feel any better, he gently hugs you, expressing that he’s happy that in the end you can see that he’s right. 

◇ No matter what it takes, Knuckles will have you fully depend on him. He’ll make you believe that he is the only one you can depend on. Even if you want to leave, you don’t have a choice. You’re on an island with miles worth of sea stuck with an obsessive echidna. There’s so many dangers out there, do you really think you could even last a day out in the forest, let alone out of the island without him? You two are best friends and even if others don’t approve, that won’t stop Knuckles. He’ll take care of anything or anyone he views as a threat to your friendship, as ironic as it may be. He cares about you so much and you know that; wouldn’t it be easier if you just let him take care of you? He’s only trying to help. So there's no need for you to cry, Knuckles is right there for you.

I always had a thought for boom!sonic with a stubborn reader. Not in 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 stubborn way where the reader always do the things on their own and refuse to seek help. no. What I had in mind is- well- similar to that 𝘣𝘶𝘵 lightly different where the reader is rather not too comfy around boom!sonic in the slightest. like he could be literally giving them hand after they just fell on the floor and reader are like; 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘢𝘸 and just straight up speed walking away from him. Like everytime sonic was present or people gush over him the reader, who was either next to them or around them was just like 🙂 😐

Oh, a cautious reader? That's quite interesting

While I love a reader who doesn't care for the yandere behavior, I also appreciate a reader who can pick up & is aware of the odd behavior of the yandere.

I feel like Boom! Sonic is, to an extent, used to others being wary of him at first but relaxing a bit & practically getting used to his shenanigans & presence over time. But someone who still acts wary & avoidant towards him? He'd first just assume you're the shy type but over time he'd very much start to silently panic inside. This would be worse if he's a romantic yandere for us because now he's not sure if he should make a change in strategies in order to date us or not. No amount of public heroic acts or sang praises from fans seem to change our minds & he feels it eating away at him every day, especially if you act buddy-buddy with others! What does he have to do to get you to relax a bit with him & ask you out!?

Reading this reminds me of that one tiktok audio/Chowder line being y/n "Yup! Sometimes I gotta beat the ladies off with a stick" & then it's just y/n proceeding to hit Sonic with said stick yelling "Back hedgehog! Back I said!"

The Importance of Amy Rose in Frontiers

[But first I gotta praise the cutscenes of this game]

Can I just say, these cutscenes are a massive step up from previous games. Ever since Colors, a lot of the cutscenes have felt static and sorta empty. Characters move, but then they just completely stop, no subtle movements or not a whole lot of emoting to anything, as if they just sorta snap in poses (Lost World was probably the worst it got imo). Frontiers cutscenes throughout the main story help make these characters feel more alive and in constant motion! And sure, in the side story cutscenes specifically, characters just stand and move mouths, but it’s best to think of those ones as the equivalent to talking to an NPC in any video game: no crazy new animated video, just two characters sharing dialogue, that’s all that’s important.

The writing is done by longtime Sonic Archie and IDW comic book writer: Ian Flynn. It’s been told he does a really great job writing the characters of the franchise and seems to really understand who they are. When it was announced that he was finally the main writer of this game, everyone online was hyped and were eager to see how his first job as a game writer would go. And after going through this whole game’s story…..YEA HE COOKED, HE SEASONED THE MEAL AND EVERYTHING!

Since I’ve made a comically large essay talking about the Action Chain Challenges a while back, I wanna also take a moment to talk about more parts of this game like the story and writing. I’d rather split this discussion into different posts talking about each character or specific moments

Starting with of course-

Amy Rose

is the first friend you (try to) save in this game. And I gotta say……her being the first friend is a lot more significant than many might think.

I think one of the most obvious things to consider is how much of an improvement she is from past iterations during the 2010s, where she actually feels less like random Sonic cheerleader and more like her own character with her own goals and ideology. While she did have a more significant role in Boom and in Forces, first off it’s hard to give much credit to Boom considering everything else that plagued it, and secondly while Forces has her being chief in command or…something, her character isn’t really presented well, she just gives orders to Sonic/The Avatar and that’s it. Outside of that, arguably she’s been quite a controversial character throughout the franchise, with many misbelieving she’s some psycho girl who will force Sonic into marrying her due to how people misinterpreted her playful chase for Sonic in Heroes, or games like Rush unfortunately actually depicting her as such 🥲 (for Pokémon fans reading this, think like when people misinterpreted Nemona as a yandere, except if it actually did have effect on how she’s officially presented in the future).

Having the controversial character of the main team of the franchise be the first character you get to see how newly recruited Ian Flynn writes her is one of the greatest introductions to a new audience on Flynn’s writing and knowledge of the characters, and she in general helps sets the stage of what’s to come for the rest of the game’s story. For example: You learn about these little stone creatures that inhabit the islands called Koco. Who better to be the one to make Sonic/The Player slow down a little from their race to save his friends and take a moment to look at these little creatures than Amy Rose. She’s always shown her appreciation for the smaller parts of Sonic’s adventure, just like back in the old days saving a Flicky, talking to Shadow and his feelings on the world, or helping out a Chao find it’s lost relative; it’s no surprise she’d be interacting with these creatures and trying to help them out and find out what they’re in need of.

There’s even a slight scuffle between Amy and Sonic where he doesn’t want to continue taking detours and get back to trying to find the emeralds so he can get her and others back to normal, having Amy a bit taken aback by him wanting to just abandon the Kocos, but eventually agrees and understands (it’s ok though because he still ends up having to deal with them anyways since they’re a bit central to the story lol).

After doing a bit of progress, the player watches a scene where they’re all teleported to a flashback of some mysterious Chaos-like alien beings (dubbed as The Ancients) in the middle of some sort of battlefield, with Kocos in their bodies, specifically one of them being the main one you’ve been helping. Two of them finding each other and share a hug before a sudden explosion brushes everything away, and Sonic and Amy are teleported back to the present, where we see that the same two Kocos involved in the flashback have passed away.

I just love how, quiet everything becomes. It isn’t suddenly, “this happened, time to move on” like in Forces, characters involved actually take in what they witnessed and talk. In the next scene, Sonic approaches Amy again after reassuring her to take a moment while he continues to find more emeralds, and she explains what she witnessed in her words, “Love that transcended time”. She goes on to show how what she saw has made her think about how what she wants to do when this whole adventure is over, showing her love to everyone in the world, but has worries it could drift her away from Sonic. Sonic of course continues to reassure that things will be alright and he hopes to hear what she does in the future.

The whole moment between these two characters in these two cutscenes, it takes the time it needs to establish character personalities, how the tone of the whole story will play out, and how much these characters care about each other. All of this wouldn’t have happened if Amy wasn’t there to introduce you to the Koco. Seeing her have this moment just being lost in thought about how she wants to approach the rest of the world going forward, it’s a nice change of pace and also plays into a theme of the whole game: love. Romantic, platonic, or family, you’ll get to see it the more you play, and a certain AI character introduced to this game will eventually start to see what it means to love or be loved and how much it can affect a living being like Sonic and be this driving force.

Oh yea also said certain AI character accuses Sonic of being a danger to the world, and there was Amy immediately defending him from such slander, another thing she’s done in the past against a certain white hedgehog :)))

She also helps introduce the theme of living life to the fullest. After seeing two Ancients get together right before their presumed death, and the two Kocos finishing their unfinished business, Amy clearly wants to make sure she can do everything she wants to do before she ever passes. Like later friends, she wants to take advantage of the life she has and continue to explore and grow more. Again, the whole scene presenting all of this is very calm and collected, it’s just so nice to have character moments again and these friends (debatably two who are into each other) just talk out about their feelings, which we’ll get to see more of as the game goes on.

Can you write about how affectionate they both are too? Specially toward little questions like "look look!! Aren't I pretty?!" and stuff like that from a darling who's very affectionate at times(mostly for boom sonic since he's a liiiittle shy when it comes to expressing his feelings)

Glad you liked what I wrote anon, but for this I'm probably not going to write too much, just a few paragraphs When it comes to Boom!Sonic, he's really competent at hiding how shy he is towards you, and also hides just how much of an attention seeker he is, unlike his canon counterpart where he tries to . He's never going to ask you to praise him, even if subtly, he'll just show off how cool he is to the point you would be a moron not to praise his talents. When he kidnaps you though, he drops that mask slightly, mostly behaving like Canon!Sonic, where he's basically pushing you to give him any compliment, literally any, just give it to him, it's almost sad how desperate he is. Boom!Metal Sonic is not too different from his canon counterpart. AKA: He's literally a robotic, homicidal puppy and if you don't compliment him, he will murder everyone until you do. Well, he would do it anyways, but hey, at least it will take longer, and murders will not get progressively worse to the point you don't even know whose body it is. It's almost like a messed up routine: Wake up, eat the food he gives you, see him bring in someone's corpse as a "gift", sleep, rinse and repeat. Also, don't bother trying to tell him to stop, he'll just take that as a challenge and you will not like what happens next.

YANDERE BOOM!SONIC THE HEDGEHOG

TYPE: romantic headcanons

SERIES: Sonic Boom (2014)

WARNINGS: yandere behavior, stalking, invasion of privacy, toxic relationship, controlling behavior, possessiveness, obsession

NOTE: While beginning to write these headcanons was hard, I had lots of fun coming up with these. I especially enjoyed working on Tails and Sonic’s friendship as his behavior gets worse. I might end up doing a scenario or something with the same concept and expand on the idea.

◇ The two of you most likely crossed paths during one of Doctor Eggman's, soon to be foiled, attempts to wreak havoc on the village. As per usual, it was the same routine of destroying robots and saving the villagers. Yet, when you thanked the hedgehog for saving you from one of Eggman’s robots, Sonic was awe-struck. After the group’s victory, Sonic makes sure to “coincidentally” run into you so he can strike up a conversation with you. Soon enough, he eventually properly introduces you to the group, who are more than happy to have another friend.

◇ At first, Sonic isn’t quite sure why he feels so weird around you. He has a high image of himself and he struggles with properly expressing himself as he deems it to be uncool. So, in the first stages of interacting with you he is in denial and suppresses his strange feelings, opting to make sure you see him for just how incredible he is; which is how he begins to realize just how much he enjoys your praise whenever he spends time with you. Sonic rationalizes this behavior by convincing himself that he simply wants you to believe he’s the greatest hero of Hedgehog Village. As you’re one of his friends now, he just wants you to know he’s awesome, that’s all.

◇ Despite his refusal to come to terms with his feelings, he gets jealous of others very easily even before you two get in a relationship. He begins to overthink and believe he isn’t good enough or that he’s boring you whenever you hang out with someone else; the only exceptions are his friends but even then it doesn’t calm his envy. This in turn boils down to Sonic doing anything for you to receive your praise or to impress you. Be it by doing nearly impossible tasks or something as mundane as getting you lunch from Meh Burger. He even offers to do tasks you need help with from the others, such as having Tails fix your TV or having Knuckles help move heavy luggage. Anything you could possibly want done, Sonic is immediately on it. As to impress you, he often does so while on the battlefield even if it backfires with him embarrassing himself. If you laugh at his antics afterwards, he still considers his attempt a success as he adores hearing you laugh.

"Hah!! I win again! Did you see that Y/N? Wasn’t that the coolest thing you’ve ever seen?"

◇ As his obsession with you grows, it gets to the point where Sonic cannot process not being with you, even for a split second. When you’re not around he feels bored, so to make up for it he talks about you at any opportunity he gets. It does concern Tails and Amy, but as his best friend, the fox justifies it by bringing up the fact he doesn’t know how to properly express himself. “Maybe Sonic is just in denial that he has a crush on them” or something along the lines is what Tails uses in an attempt to back up his best friend. For a while, this manages to subside anyone’s thoughts about his bizarre behavior. After all, Sonic is a hero. He has his flaws but he means well, right?

◇ If you have friends outside of the group or want to make friends, you’re quickly met with Sonic’s blunt comments of disapproval. Why would you want to hang out with anyone else? Is he boring for you? Is the group not enough for you? He crosses his arms and gives you an unamused look when you have plans with anyone else besides him or the team. With his large self-obsessed ego, it makes a dent in his self image whenever you don’t want to spend time with him. Additionally, if the team is hanging out and you aren’t going, Sonic refuses to go as well. He either makes excuses or states that it would be lame.

“You’re not going to Amy’s later? Psh, me neither. She’d probably just have us sit and do nothing like last time…“ 

◇ While being in a relationship with Sonic while being a part of the group can be suffocating, if you happen to just be a resident in the village, his behavior is ten times worse. He feels paranoid whenever he can’t keep tabs on you while he’s busy keeping the village safe or while he’s out just having fun. He’s afraid that Eggman might kidnap you or even use you against him. To deal with this problem, Sonic resorts to asking Tails to create trackers or any device to know your every move. He uses the excuse that they could use the gadgets to anticipate Eggman’s attacks and plan ahead. While this works for a short time, Tails eventually finds out.

“Sonic, are you insane!? Why were the cameras you asked me to build at Y/N’s house? Have you been stalking them all this time!? I can’t believe you!! I’m such an idiot for believing there was a rational explanation for your behavior!“

“Are you seriously accusing me of stalking them?! Especially after everything we’ve been through together? Stop being so nosy for crying out loud! I don’t need you shoving your nose in my relationship Miles.“

“Oh, well, I’m soo sorry for being concerned over one of my friends when my best friend, the person who I trusted the most, turned into an overzealous, controlling, obsessive stalker!“

◇ Once best friends and now their constant arguments put a strain on their own relationship. Amy, Knuckles and Sticks have to act as the glue to prevent the group from falling apart. Not just for each other’s sake, but for the village as well. Even when the two apologize to each other, the two’s conflicting ideals about you don’t stop. While everyone else is concerned for you and your safety, Tails’ is the most outspoken about the situation. His admiration and view on his long time best friend is completely shattered which has him completely frustrated and devastated. Although whenever they try and intervene, Sonic is always there to stop them; each attempt angering the hedgehog as your relationship is none of their business.

◇ Even with his friendships completely destroyed, Sonic is too deep into his own delusions and obsession. He doesn’t need anyone, the only one he needs is you. He just needs you and only you to love him. In the end it doesn’t matter what anyone else says. He’s the only one capable of protecting you and the only one who deserves to be with you.

“Don’t worry Y/N, I know things are bad but we’ll get through this together. If things don’t work out we can always just leave and go somewhere else. Just the two of us! I promise.“
