You know, it would certainly be a shame if people emailed Nintendo a lot of false leads on piracy and clogged their inbox, wouldn't it?
(Real talk: if you do this, don't use the email you use for your Nintendo account if you have one.)

”Let the rage consume you”
So the whole Yuzu situation just had to hit Citra. Nintendo you are really walking on thin ice with this shit rn
But a message to the people, just because of this bullshit doesn’t mean we have to comply. Citra and Yuzu aren’t truly dead even if the devs cut off the official download.
Save your source code, save your versions of both. Keep circulating the emulators. Do not comply and let them get lost in the fire.
Justice for Citra 🍊🍋

And... there goes Citra.
And I never even had a computer good enough to run it.
Thanks Nintendo.

Here, have a mirror of the final Nightly build of Citra (March 3rd 2024), and the most recent build of Yuzu I could find via the Wayback Machine. (February 28th 2024)
EDIT: On April 27th 2024, Uncle Wario was assassinated by the Nintendo Ninjas. The Yuzu and Citra mirrors will be reuploaded elsewhere soon.

The Future of Emulation: Pushing Boundaries and Exploring New Horizons
The realm of emulators is constantly evolving, with developers pushing boundaries and exploring new frontiers. Here's a glimpse into some exciting possibilities that lie ahead:
1. Cloud Emulation: Imagine accessing powerful emulators without the need for local hardware. Cloud emulation, still in its nascent stages, allows users to stream emulated environments directly from remote servers. This opens doors for broader accessibility and eliminates the need for powerful rigs, making classic titles playable even on resource-constrained devices.
2. Artificial Intelligence Integration: Emulation, coupled with the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI), holds immense potential. AI-powered emulators could offer features like automatic upscaling of visuals, real-time translation of text within games, or even the creation of entirely new content based on existing assets.
3. VR and AR Emulation: Merging emulation with virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies could create groundbreaking experiences. Imagine exploring virtual worlds built on the foundations of classic games or experiencing retro titles in a fully immersive environment.
4. Ethical Considerations and Collaboration: As emulation technology advances, ethical considerations come to the forefront. Collaboration between developers, publishers, and the emulation community will be crucial in ensuring responsible use and respect for intellectual property rights.
5. Uncovering Lost Treasures: Emulation serves as a vital tool for uncovering lost treasures in the gaming world. Advancements in emulation, combined with historical research, could lead to the rediscovery of forgotten games or the restoration of incomplete or damaged titles, offering valuable insights into gaming history.
These are just a few exciting possibilities for the future of emulation. As technology continues to evolve and push boundaries, emulators are poised to become even more versatile and impactful, not only preserving the past but also shaping the future of gaming and beyond. It’s a new year… Hopefully nothing bad will happen on the gaming side of things
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
*Sigh*
We’re three months in… THREE MONTHS IN TO THE YEAR and we’ve already been flooded.
Kotaku’s already in hot water (again and not surprising. FFS: TREAT EACH OTHER AS FUCKING HUMANS AND DROP THIS WHOLE RACE CRAP! THIS ISN’T HELPING ANYONE AND IS ONLY MAKING TENSIONS WORSE!)
NINTENDO WHAT THE FUCK!? PLEASE STOP BEING SO LEGAL HAPPY FOR ONE SECOND!? I love your games and consoles but cheese and rice ya’ll need to relax some things. Also YUZU! YOU AREN’T SO INNOCENT! This mainly has to do with ToTK but please take precautions if you’re working with still supported hardware regarding emulation, avoid games that have just released because that was one of the main caveats that got them (Notice how Nintendo wasn’t after Citra, who was more caught in the crossfire. Yuzu was the target.)
The whole Sweet Baby Inc thing is just a shitshow on both sides and it’s giving me a headache =-=
AAAA games don’t need to be a thing. Also add Ubisoft to the list of companies/publications that always seem to say and do stupid shit and then end up on
Another mediocre game. Also it was pretty much the reason for like three of these topics because Kotaku, SBN, and SS:KTJL have been pretty much linked drama wise.
It’s a fucking shitshow and I already know two of these will be on my end of the year of Reshi’s Worst of gaming moments/outtakes of 2024 (SBI Controversy and Yuzu namely. Skull and bones will get a (Dis)honorable mention.)
A reminder: Video Games can be enjoyed by anyone. There’s a vast variety and PLEASE STAY OUT OF DRAMA!
