ETF is very different from the series but i kinda enjoy it?

Like, the atmosphere of the setting is way less grim and macabre, and we even had some very aww emotional moments (because it's a film and films have a different episode structure). And well, i'm a sucker for happy endings, so it was nice to see Professor Membrane and Gaz have some touching moments with Dib. (i just wanna them to heal ok) (it's a start at least)

Basically i like to see the differences between the series and ETF as if they were the consequences of the timeskip.

Gaz very explicitly worrying about her brother's well being + Dib imposing himself on his father because both of them (Gaz and Dib) are more mature, the sky is more beautiful because idk maybe it's some invention the Professor made to help the Earth??

ETF gives me a hopeful, somehow healing and comforting atmosphere, and it feels nice

But then again, i'm a sucker for happy endings and healing

Now about the designs, i liked the colors in general, but it's my most vibrant and "happy" color style.

I really liked Dib's ghost shirt, since i study character design a lot, this says a lot about him. I just didn't like the red sneakers so in my re-imagined version i draw him with a black all star (i like to leave the goth boots for when he's older). And now he has more hair lol (i like to leave the undercut for when he's older too)

Gaz was the one with the biggest redesign, and just like Dib i liked her new shirt. But in my re-imagined version i mix her design from the series with ETF, i like to imagine her with a long-sleeved striped shirt underneath.

I don't have much to say about Professor Membrane's redesign, but i liked the small changes, he's not so skinny anymore and has more hair too

Also ETF gave me things i always wanted to happen:

- Alternative realities

- Professor Membrane being a good present father

- Touching moments between the Membrane family

- Zim discovering the mission was a lie

- Zim (almost) winning for real

- ANIME IZ!! (my 13-year-old self can rest in peace)

- The trial scenario

So yeah, i really like the movie, i had a lot of fun.

It's a great film to end the IZ franchise to me.

Sorry for All the questions, lol one last one, how do you think Dib would grow up and what would his life turn out like? (Zadr based, please sir 👉👈)

No, please! I love being asked questions. Don't ever feel you've asked too much.

Personally, I think Dib would grow up to be a burn out. I think he would end up so traumatized from all of his failures and rancid interactions with society he would shut himself away and live in Zim's base. He'd focus on learning everything he could about alien tech and mess around with it in various ways. Spending most of the time in the lab, he'd dedicate most of his time on various alien experiments and fighting the urge to cut Zim up. As a side thing, he'd do work for the Eyeballs or any paranormal phenomena which tickles his fancy.

Zim is his caretaker completely. He cleans up after him (not because he wants to but because he's such a clean freak), cooks for him, etc.

They like having movie nights together and fight over whether they are gonna watch X-Files or Floopsy Bloops Smoopsy for the 42nd time.

Their relationship is a tedious balancing act of torture and passion. Dib balls his eyes out because no one cares about him so Zim holds him. Then Zim poisons his food because he thinks Dib having diarrhea is funny. Dib holds Zim close and pets his antenna only to turn around and throw an entire cup of water on him because he wants to see him running around screaming in pain.

My experience with the Zadr community:

I love Zadr, I think the ship’s great and has a lot of depth and potential, but omfg I hate most of the community surrounding it. Like, I remember talking to a (particularly well known) zadr artist when I was 14 on an old account on here and she basically tried getting me into proshipping, allowed for me to watch her nsfw art streams despite knowing I was a minor, and only after I found her nsfw twt (which had full on drawn C-heese P-izza on it) did I finally delete my account and block her. Before anyone asks, I don’t have screenshots of any of my interactions with said user due to me being a scared 14 year old and not knowing at the time of it was really as big of an offense as I felt it was. I’m also not going to give their username as I don’t want any unwanted attention from her fans because ultimately this isn’t about exposing anyone, it’s just my experiences in this sub-fandom. I’ve had a lot of positive interactions with people in the zadr community, but I have to say my experience with this one particular person might be the worst I’ve ever had from any fandom I’ve been in (yes, I’m apart of the MLP fandom and I was apart of the DSMP and MHA fandom at one point). The thing was that I idolized this person and when she followed me, I felt like I really accomplished something, and when we began messaging each other, that sense of pride only grew. I have to reiterate that this isn’t a hit-piece or anything like that, this (again) is just my experience and nothing more.
