Learning Laravel

My uni is still closed due to Covid-19, so, there is nothing to share right now,apart from my progress in programming and my language-learning journey maybe I will draw a thing later.

I started learning Laravel, a PHP framework that makes web development much easier, I studied the routing, I am trying to grasp the models, controllers and how to migrate databases along side with views.

it’s so much easier to learn by following the official documentation, another great resource I discovered is a series in YouTube with the name “Laravel From Scratch“ by Traversy Media .

The fact that almost every resource is old shouldn’t scare you, Laravel changed to semantic versioning (you can read more about that here) which doesn’t make major changes, maybe inside their codebase but almost everything stays the same for the user experience. they also ships new version every 6 month, I even know people who are developing in Laravel 6.

bring back the habits that made you happy as a child. there’s no reason you should ever have to give up harmless things that bring you joy. you don’t have to age out of having fun. finger paint. write mediocre fanfiction and questionable poetry. put chocolate chips in your waffles. sing in the bath, and while working in the yard, and while washing your hands. hammer tunelessly on a piano. spin in circles until you fall down. climb a tree. just because you’re now in charge of your life doesn’t mean you’re expected to give up on the things that make life feel worth living

Learning Russian

Why I am learning Russian, it’s because:

I love their culture and what I see in Bald and Bankrupt YT channel.

so many classical music composers and nuclear scientists are Russians, and I believe that learning a language means that you have to immerse yourself into that language’s environment, trying to understand those ideas and how and why did they form.

I also found a lot of resources about tech and history stuff on the internet that are in Russian and after translating them; I found they are so much valuable to me.

I saw a similarity between Russian and Amazigh (the language spoken by North Africans), and I want to know why?

Why not, I know Arabic, Amazigh, French, English, why not add another language.

Today is Wednesday, Sep 26rd, 2020. I have been learning Russian like 15 days ago, I just learnt the Cyrillic alphabet and couple words.

When I learn some vocabulary, I will reblog this post with those new words. so this is somewhat a series or an updated content, for maybe 6 month or more until I learn the basic stuff and the most common words and phrases.

By the way, I am using a mobile application that has words with their pronunciations and translations and of course, the Anki app with Russian decks *Spaced_Repetition*.

and I was told not to learn the Russian grammar, let the words flow on their own until you figure out how things work then try to understand formalities and why are they written that way?

Good luck for me I guess.
