Aaron started eating solids recently and we quickly decided that homemade baby food is healthier, cheaper, and super easy. He really enjoyed this organic mix of blueberries and almond butter. Many brands even make handy containers that can make it easy to store and freeze. #homemadebabyfood #healthybaby #babyfood #homemade #happytummy #happybaby #almondbutter #blueberries #thehealthcure https://www.instagram.com/p/CeeYDfRp5Uk/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

As a resident of Arlington, Texas for my whole life, it has become increasingly frustrating to watch the city refuse to put health as a top priority regarding facilities. Tried @annshfc at it’s great opening in downtown Arlington. Let’s hope this is the first of many stores like this moving forward in Arlington. #anns #nutrition #puthealthfirst #healthpromotion #cityhealth #wellness #arlingtontx #thehealthcure (at Arlington, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeHIvSMrCmL/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

First post of 2022 and first post since the summer. It has been a busy last few months as my wife and I welcomed Aaron Cameron Cure recently. I also wrapped up one more semester of my doctorate as I’m getting ever so close to starting my dissertation. My health motivation has forever changed as Aaron motivates me to be healthy enough to play things such as baseball together in the future. #familymotivation #2022 #sports #wellness #healthyyear #baseball #healthylifestyle #goals #thehealthcure (at Arlington, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/CYSoDeArZmb/?utm_medium=tumblr

Like I’ve said many times, health is often judged by what someone looks like. Remember, no one is perfect and all of us can find ways to improve our health. My advice is to focus on one of these 10, and see how you can improve one before you can try to improve another. Transforming one’s health is a process, and is not something that can be treated or cured overnight. #trusttheprocess #health #wellness #lifestyle #healthiswealth #nobodyisperfect #babysteps #yougotthis #thehealthcure (at Viridian, Arlington, TX) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTAXRs-ryg-/?utm_medium=tumblr

Very few non-dairy yogurts live up to the nutrition of Greek-style dairy yogurts. This is the only one I’ve come across. High in protein, minimal ingredients, no added sugar, and gut-health probiotics make this a wonderful go-to for dairy/lactose intolerant people like myself. @kitehillfoods #probiotics #guthealth #nodairynoproblem #greekyogurt #kitehill #yogurtforbreakfast #breakfastofchampions #noanimalsharmed #thehealthcure (at Viridian, Arlington, TX) https://www.instagram.com/p/CS-B9DBLkpT/?utm_medium=tumblr

After a very busy summer semester in my doctoral program, I’m back with a reminder that it’s very common for health judgements to be misguided, misunderstood, and flat out wrong. This is a personal quote that I often say to my college students. Life throws you curveballs and if you aren’t consistently taking care of yourself physically and mentally, you will not be able to adapt to these changes. Before you can start taking care of other people and responsibilities, first evaluate yourself and strive to be the best you can be. #wordsofwisdom #healthquotes #physicalhealth #mentalhealth #beselfishsometimes #adapt #livehealthy #quotestoliveby #thehealthcure (at Viridian, Arlington, TX) https://www.instagram.com/p/CRHXqviHiLM/?utm_medium=tumblr

What’s This A2 Milk All About?!
Has anybody noticed the influx of A2 milk at the grocery stores these days? I have been dairy intolerant for many years, but I figured I would give it a try. I noticed no major physical changes, after a week of consumption, between A2 and traditional A1 milk. Perhaps some might notice more differences than I did, but it's important to know that the research for A2 milk is still new and minimal. It's also important to be aware that the dairy industry has funded most research studies for A2 milk.

One of our favorite things to do when we travel is discover and eat delicious food. We discovered @planta in Miami and it did not disappoint. 100% plant based and clean ingredients. The best sushi I ever had and yes, only plants used. The pizza did not disappoint too. #happytummy #nomeatnoproblem #veganfood #miami #southbeach #plantbased #cleaneating #healthyrestaurant #thehealthcure (at South Beach, Miami, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPrss4XHDR2/?utm_medium=tumblr

As we near the end of Mental Health Month, let’s remember to take care of our mental health and show empathy for those who struggle. What always helps me is being thankful for my health and everything else I have in my life. Colon Cancer Rates on the Rise
Colon Cancer is one of the fastest-growing cancers in the U.S. and worldwide. It is also one of the deadliest forms of cancer, including those under 50 years old. Diet has become a growing concern among newly diagnosed colon cancer patients. "There’s mounting evidence linking an unhealthy diet—in particular, one high in processed meat and fat, and low in fruits and vegetables—to early-onset colorectal cancer."

Intermittent Fasting FYI
Much of what I do is focused on the promotion of avoiding health and wellness trends that take over our country. However, one trend I have been educating myself on over the last year is fasting (aka intermittent fasting). This has been a popular eating pattern for thousands of years in various countries and cultures. Research has shown fasting to be beneficial in cognitive health and many physical benefits; including, weight loss, cardiovascular health, blood sugar reduction, and tissue repair. There are many types of fasting schedules. The easiest, safest form of intermittent fasting is the 12:12 schedule (eating over a 12-hour time frame, and not eating during a 12-hour time frame). For example, not eating after 8:00 pm, and waiting to eat until 8:00 am the next morning. Check out this article from Harvard Health for much more details, and remember that this might not be considered safe for certain populations.

Covid-19 and Sedentary Living
Another new study shows that inactive people are at a higher risk for Covid-19 hospitalization and death. 48,000+ adult patients, who were diagnosed with Covid-19 in Southern California, took part in this self-reported exercise study. Please use this pandemic as a major reminder on the importance of being consistently active.
