Remember Me by Lesley Pearse

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you are looking for a historical romance book inspired by true events, go read this one! If you are looking for a strong, likable female lead character, good love interests, a lot of twist and turns, go read this book!
It captivated me until the last page, and I felt like I was part of the story. I grew a connection with the characters in this book. Mary Broad, our protagonist, who exalts femininity yet strength will surely stay with you long after you finish this book. I didn't want to finish it, I just wanted more.
Lesley's writing is fluid and a nice read when you want to decompress and dive deep inside a story. I was never really into historical romance until I picked up this book, but it completely changed the game for me.
Surely a new favorite book. 🤍

It's been 8 years since the passing of Sister Clare Crockett 🤍🕊
Her testimony still inspires me to this day, her strength, her desire to do right, how she gave herself to Christ and the community she served.
You'll forever be missed, Hermana Clare. Pray for us 🙏🏻🕊

Why did you stop being feminist?
It just happened gradually. There was no turning point but I realized a pattern; when I was unhappy with myself and brewing internal hate, that's when I was more of a feminist.
Then I met my love and came back to my faith and I guess that's when I stopped using the label altogether. I didn't see myself represented in today's feminists, that only know how to shout and grow colorful armpit hair, that attack the family and are raging communists. I would be more inclined to be a feminist is "feminists" went to those countries where women are beaten up for not wearing the hijab, can't go to school.... It's really easy being a feminist in western Europe and that shows. They only care about men being women, aborting every single human and showing their breasts every change they get. For me, that ain't feminism.
My heart goes to the women, like J.K. Rowling that speak true words of support for women and see their platforms completely violated by the so-called feminists, that are giving men all the women spaces. When a man is the woman of the year, that's when I know feminism has failed women.

Like a book club, where I talk about a book I've read and enjoyed and that fit the content of this blog.
Are you interested?

It is hard to believe how fast this little community has grown.
Thank you to everyone that has ever stumbled across this account, gave it a follow and shared my thoughts through my posts.
You are not alone, remember that. Even in the middle of chaos and "progression", there are still people thinking like you.

Today is not Trans Visibility Day and it will never be. Today is the Easter day, the day our Lord defeated death and rose. It saddens me to see this is not only in the US, but also worldwide.
Hopefully, people won't fall for this and still celebrate what this day is about.
"Father forgive them, for they know not what they do." - Luke 23:34

Why do you believe that men are not oppressing women currently? (sorry if you don't believe this and I misinterpreted one of your posts)
I don't believe ALL MEN are oppressing women.
Nowadays everyone thinks everything that doesn't align with their values is oppression, when in fact, most of the times it's basic biology or common sense.
Saying women aren't equal to men isn't oppression and being taken care of by your husband/boyfriend, looking feminine, doing feminine things and craving more traditional things isn't oppression. It's just biological inclinations
Of course we have those countries where oppression is really high and my heart goes to the girls and women that can't go to school or live a decent life. But in our occidental society, where women and men are basically treated the same, and people don't have anything to complain about, "oppression" is the new hot topic.
So, I think the word "oppression" is thrown around a lot and with little to no respect to the real oppressed people

You just totally refuse to read my ask and cling to your ideals. I specifically say I have no faith in the left or the right politically. You absolutely passed over the points I raised about homelessness etc, the living hell people are enduring right now. You don't want to face the ugly side of life and want to exist in a pastel paradise. This flies fundamentally in the face of Christianity. Jesus hung around with prostitutes and lepers. His creed is not an aesthetic like you are treating it.
Tbh I don't really care about trans rights etc. There used to be a process, people that really needed help in that way went through, but now everyone is switching genders at the drop of a hat thinking it will solve their problems. It's also opened the door to complete insanity allowing people who need mental help to dictate the norm. There is the minority of genuine trans people who are literally born the wrong body and need that help but that's all I support. When a man can say he is a woman at the drop of a hat to gain access to female spaces for malevolent reasons, his sins reflect unfairly on genuine trans people who are not like that. But the whole situation is a circus so I'm not interested.
You're young and naive, clinging to a conservative idyll where everything is safe and ordered and in a neat little box. Unfortunately life is not like that. You're constructing a fantasy around yourself and picking and choosing from the Christian faith to furnish it. Tbh you sicken me. I'm also trying to live my faith and failing. I struggle with sinning all the time, my negative thoughts against others, the hopelessness I feel, the urge to just do what you do and look the other way. I feel like I'm drowning. Death appears pretty attractive rn but suicide is a sin.
You literally just look the other way while people suffer. You're blaming them for things out of their control. You're too concerned with an aesthetic. You're too intent on achieving a Stepford reality. I pray for you and hope it's not too late for you to change for pride is a sin.
And this sickens me as well. You don't know me, you don’t know what i do outside of this platform, my background, my struggles, my living conditions.... I know the world is a messed up place but complaining all the time won't change that. Just because I don't talk about homelessness doesn't mean I don't care for it, you don't know if I've done anything for them, do you? No, you don't.
My political beliefs and my religious beliefs are mine, and I will never apologize for them. Again, you don't know me and I'm praying for you as well

Re: the last anon and yourself, you're entitled to your own views but right wing politics are regressive and primitive. The world and our environment cannot continue on such a capitalistic footing where people are exploited and treated like cattle etc. Neither can nature resulting in global warming. It's not communistic to say people deserve a decent standard of living with decent healthcare, wages, housing and education. It's just common decency, not communism.
Where I am in the USA, homeless is now illegal. Feeding and helping the homeless is now illegal. You are arrested, detained and fined for trying to help someone who starving and vulnerable. Homelessness is rising due to the reduction in wages and rents rising to appalling levels people cannot afford even with two jobs or more. Evictions are the norm. This is the consequence of right wing attitudes and politics.
I am a Christian. I pray every day for forgiveness for my enemies, to have the strength to carry on in the face of oppression, to forgive myself for being weak and hating my fellow men/women for the sins they perpetrate.
Politics whether right or left are on the whole corrupt. But right wing political ideas are where the seeds of fascism are rooted. My faith cannot accept right wing idealism in whatever form, moderate or extreme. It's principles are wholly abhorrent to Christianity and I wonder at you trying to reconcile your religion with your apolitical tendencies.
Communism has never worked and will never work. Go read a history book and you'll see that people died from starvation during the URSS and in every communist country.
During the Berlin wall, no one ran from the capitalist side to the communist side. It was the other way. That alone says a lot.
Global warming is just an excuse to raise our taxes and make us pay for new cars and electronics. No one that matters, like politicians, cares about the environment.
People deserve decent care, but families are under attack, women are no longer definable, but labeled like cattle, like "milking person", "uterus owner", languages are being changed because a small minority feels attacked by everything and drugs are being legalized, as well crazy imigration.
The left is degeneration, and right now, people are tired, and Europe is an example of that. (and being right wing doesn't automatically makes you a fascist).
Capitalism and free will is our best option yet

I STAND WITH J.K. ROWLING!
The woman who is never afraid to talk the truth, even if it brings her terrible repercussions, that was literally at the bottom when se wrote the books that changed generations and made them fall in love with reading, me included, that fights for women's rights, real women's rights, that would rather go to prison than to bend to this modern awful narratives and that inspires millions of women everyday. 💙
