Am I the only one who thinks that literature references in Psycho-pass (especially Season 1) are absolutely unique? The book selection is quite usual for sci-fi/dystopia genre (1984 must never be missed) but interpretion of these books are absolutely unusual. It´s fun, sometimes little bit spicy or outright totally perverted... and, these references perfectly set into the plot and dialogues. Btw. if you read those books, have you noticed how much some of the referenced books change the content of the story or do they deepen its importance?

Two examples: William Shakespeare: Titus Andronicus- for me is inextricably linked to that Rikako Oryo case. It's pretty awful already. But if you compare the plot of the play with these few episodes you will find that Rikako is just "kinda weird" school girl with unusual interests. (yeah, be honest, she didn´t eat anyone, she is cutie pie...) José Ortega y Gasset - The Revolt of the Masses - The sociological study deals with a special type of people who do not belong to modern society. They may not be extremely exceptional, intelligent, but society will never accept them. Because they realize they are part of the crowd. And only this awareness separates them from society. And it makes perfect sense for Makishima´s identity. And also on the basis of which sybila selects its members.

It’s kind of funny to think that Caitlyn’s plan was to just interview the tattoo goon from the airship about who he worked for and then a few days later ended up neck deep in the family drama of the single mind behind the Undercity’s organized crime that she was looking for, his mentally ill daughter who HATES her, and her estranged sister who is a prisoner that Caitlyn broke out of jail when she couldn’t interview tattoo goon because said estrange sister broke his jaw.

Leading to Caitlyn breaking the estrange sister out of prison only to learn she is a highly regarded figure in the Undercity due to her and her sister’s adopted father being the former mob boss in charge. However, he was killed by the current mob boss after said prisoner’s sister severely injured their adopted father and killed their two brothers in an attempt to save her family by using the Hextech crystals they stole from Caitlyn’s family’s beneficiary and really her only friend from the current mob boss’s first human-shimmer monster.

And all of THIS essentially boils down to a shouting match between the mob boss and sister fighting over who loves the insane teenage girl more, despite the fact that she has kidnapped all of them and has made it very clear that she is a very dangerous and unstable individual.

Oh, and this family drama will have major consequences for not just the Undercity, but Piltover and a good chunk of the world; because said mentally ill teenage girl is a genius who figured out Hextech and created a shark rocket and has just fired it at the council, because she has once again accidently killed her father and now Caitlyn’s mom is definitely going to die, because Caitlyn didn’t want to shoot the mentally ill teenager because Caitlyn is falling for her sister.

And again, all Caitlyn wanted to do was interview some random thug and prove herself as a detective and now she has untold amounts of trauma to deal with.

Ever since I learned that Viktor got into the Academy by pretending to be a student until he impressed Heimerdinger enough to stay, his character arc becomes a lot more clear.

He starts out with sneaking into a university, something that could that could get him arrested but it pays off. He meets a disgraced academic with a theory he likes and is immediately on board with breaking and entering and tampering with evidence on the off chance that this’ll work out, and it does, beyond his wildest dreams. He decides to go visit Zaun in the middle of a blockade and manages to get the Shimmer he needs and not get shot. He does a highly dangerous experiment with the Hexcore, and his leg gets better. He does an even bigger experiment….and his lab assistant gets disintegrated right in front of him, and it becomes clear that the Hexcore has become dangerous and he can’t control it or destroy it.

Viktor’s entire arc through the show (or at least the first season) is him taking larger and larger risks in the name of science and having them pay off against all odds, right up until the moment it doesn’t. It’s a much more interesting story about arrogance than “dumbass says he’s God and gets ironically smote by lightning”, because it happens so naturally and so slowly that you can’t even see it coming until it punches you in the face. It’s not an overblown ego or obvious pride, it’s simple confirmation bias, and it’s vastly more relatable and terrifying in that way.

It still makes sense

Despite some peoples displeasure, Zoe not being talked about or referenced in previous seasons of Miraculous Ladybug still makes sense given her families personalities and behavior. Audrey would barely remember her daughter existed and have no real interest in keeping her in mind as she continued to prioritize her own life. Chloe in particular would have no desire to talk about, let alone mention, the sister from New York she never wanted. And so long as Zoe never set foot in Paris, Chloe wouldn’t need to consider her being part her life and part of the Bourgeois family, that is of course until the day Zoe herself requested to live in Paris. Chloe was willing to accept Zoe, but only if she lived up to her standards of being exactly like her and their mom. This of course did not play out as Zoe decided to just be herself and not pretend to be someone she is not to gain other peoples approval.

  Andre, their family butler and anyone else in the Bourgeois family who knew of Zoe’s existence, would not dare talk about Zoe as it would only bring up memories about the messy drama that likely happened long ago when it was revealed Audrey had an affair, and a child to prove it.

(we suspect it was an affair given Zoe’s age and how Andre and Audrey have been married for 20 years)

Although Audrey and Chloe are now on good terms, thanks to Marinette helping them mend their bond and realize they have a lot in common as mother and daughter, the same can not be easily said for Zoe as Audrey has been shown to favor Chloe in any given situation, even sending Zoe back to New York simply because Chloe decided she didn’t want her to live with them. Implying that although Audrey loves Chloe, things may be much more complicated and messy when it comes to Zoe and her former relationship with Zoe’s father, Mr. Lee. 

Unfortunately, as of now, Zoe can not easily form a connection with Audrey and Chloe, but thankfully, despite not being his biological daughter, Zoe did manage to form a connection with Andre as a result of their shared love for the theater( Andre’s love for directing and Zoe’s love of acting) and because of their similar situations where they inevitably realized that in order to be loved and approved by their families, they would need to give up their dreams as well as their true selves.

Zoe may have chosen to break away from this fate but Andre remains stuck, not only because of his fears of displeasing his family, but because his position as mayor continues to become a priority in his life as it provides his family the happiness of gaining the privilege to use his position of power to do what they want and get what they want, and as we all know, Andre is willing to do anything to make his family happy, even if it’s at the cost of his own happiness.

There is still a lot to see of Zoe and her interactions with the Bourgeois family, especially in terms of what kind of an affect she will have on them now that she is staying in Paris. As of now, what we have noted is that Zoe’s presence appears to be causing Andre to develop a little more back bone and learn to reject his families requests, where this will all lead and what the show has in store for Zoe is something we will have to wait and see.

Rogue Cheney Random Headcanons

· Rogue, along with the other dragon slayers have a nictitating membrane (a third translucent eyelid) that protects and moistens the eye while still maintaining vision. This is a biological alteration that occurred after learning dragon slayer magic and was one of the first signs that the dragonification process had begun. Even after the dragon seeds are removed from the dragon slayers, such biological alterations remain.

·All dragon slayers have exceptional eyesight, along with the rest of their enhanced senses. Rogue is the only dragon slayer however with absolute night vision and can see in complete darkness/blackness. The downside to this is that his eyes become more sensitive in bright light and will have to periodically close his eyes for a couple of minutes at a time to rest them throughout particularly sunny days. Sting on the other hand is virtually blind at night and must rely on his other senses to guide him if he has no alternative lighting. Bright lights don’t bother him at all, he can even look directly into the sun without it affecting his eyes at all.

· Rogue is weakest approaching midday as that is when the sun is at its highest and brightest.

· Rogue’s skin burns very easily when he is exposed to direct sunlight, it is part of the reason he wears clothes that cover up his skin. If he becomes too warm and must wear more exposed clothing he has to wear a lot of sun cream, which he greatly dislikes due to the sticky feeling that is left on his skin afterwards.

· Unlike Sting who can tan easily, Rogue cannot tan, ever. He only ever burns.

· Regarding his powers, Rogue is at his natural weakest during the summer, particularly around the summer solstice as that is when the days are at their longest/brightest meaning that there are less opportunities for Rogue to recharge and rejuvenate his powers in the darkness.

·During sunny days Rogue will stand in shady places to help prevent his skin from burning, as well as prevent his powers from weakening.

·Rogue is naturally nocturnal, so he works hard to maintain a normal sleep schedule. Because of this nocturnal predisposition Rogue is a night person and hates to be woken up early as he sleeps in. If he is woken up early for any reason he spends the next hour or two in an irritable and drowsy state until the caffeine in his tea takes effect.

· Rogue can’t sleep in a room unless it is pitch black due to how sensitive his eyes are to light, he finds it too distracting. For this reason, he has blackout curtains in his bedroom.

· Rogue sleeps more in the summer. This is an early side effect of the dragonification process beginning. Dragons are endothermic (internally regulating heat), meaning that the hotter it is, the more energy they consume due the excess work undergone by their cardiovascular systems to pump blood to their muscles which are producing sweat to cool them down. To compensate for this loss of energy, dragon slayers will often nap frequently during the hottest months of the year in order to preserve energy.

· Rogue eats a lot more than an average person; all dragon slayers do as they have incredibly high metabolisms. This is because their bodies burn calories and fat more quickly than a normal human. Rogue must eat an average of x3 as much food as a normal human, roughly 7500 calories per day. He sometimes will become embarrassed by this, particularly if he is going out for a meal as he will order significantly more food than a normal person in one go. Both Strong and Gajeel both have the same calorie requirements as Rogue. After becoming dragon slayers, Laxus and Cobra both experienced an increase in their appetites as well as the number of calories that they both needed to function properly, with their appetites increasing about to double their previous size, roughly 5000 calories a day. Natsu must eat the most of all the dragon slayers, as a fire dragon slayer his metabolism is considerably higher than normal dragon slayers due to his remarkably high internal body temperature burning calories much faster. For this reason, Natsu must consume roughly 10000 calories a day to maintain his health and body functionality. As Wendy is still growing she needs to consume more calories than she would when she is older. Currently she eats roughly x4 her average daily intake, having to consume roughly 9000 calories a day. When she has stopped growing however, her average intake will drop to 6000 calories a day.

· Rogue’s hair grows very quickly, and he must get it trimmed every few months, if he doesn’t trim it himself first.

· Rogue handmakes all of Frosch’s costumes. The two of them will go on shopping trips to find fabric that Frosch likes, and Rogue will make the costumes. Rogue also makes him and Frosch matching pyjama sets as Frosch loves when they wear matching pyjamas.

· Rogue is partial to flavoured gin when he drinks. His favourite gins are Pomegranate & Cucumber or Mandarin & Jasmine gin as he enjoys how refreshing they are. In winter however, when he wants something more warming he will drink whisky, primarily scotch whisky. Initially Rogue’s knowledge of whisky was limited, though after spending some time with Gajeel, who has a fondness for drinking whisky he learns more about it.

· While he can cook basic meals, Rogue’s knowledge of cooking is limited.

· When he is sick, Rogue is the type of sick person who doesn’t want to bother anybody and would repeatedly tell people that he is fine, even if he clearly wasn’t. He would try to send Frosch to stay with Sting and Lector to avoid Frosch getting ill as well, he doesn’t like to be around other people when he is ill because of a fear of getting them ill too. He would curl up in bed and try to sleep his illness away, drinking lots of tea and taking the appropriate medicine.

· Rogue would collect Phantom Lord memorabilia when he was younger, his room used to be full of them. Sting would do the same thing but would instead collect Fairy Tail memorabilia solely featuring Natsu. After the disbandment of Phantom Lord, Rogue and Sting visited the Fairy Tail café and shop a couple of times before the Tenrou island incident, Sting would buy figurines and posters of Natsu there, Rogue would try to catch a glimpse of Gajeel.
