Another thing. When writing, we have to empathize with the characters to make it, well, real, right? And i've always found arguments (like in movies and stuff) for keeping an unwanted pregnancy fake and made-up.

And i, well, i want a-yao to keep the baby and be happy with lan xichen ever after, but imo there just isn't a valid reason to keep a baby for a teen, ever! So it's a struggle to make a-yao's feelings believable and not ooc. He knows his mother's story for god's sake. I have no idea what he should feel exactly to keep a baby in a modern au where he can have an abortion, but oh well.
