My headcanons for Sigyn in the MCU #1:

Sigyn had a relationship with Theoric which ended after 8 years due to the classic relationship crisis and literally 3 weeks after their breakup Sif had sex with Theoric, so since then Sigyn no longer wants to have anything to do with her. They used to be best friends, but what Sif did destroyed their friendship.

I like how most ppl’s MCU Sigyn is cute, and has little to no actual damage/character changes in a story, while mine just has like a metric duckton of trauma, with only a few “happy” moments.

Random things about my Sigyn:

She gave birth to Vali shortly before her death, and hid him.

Has extremely powerful magic, and is considered the strongest of her sisters.

She accidentally k#lled Amora after sparring with her and still has nightmares about this moment.

She was reincarnated in Constanta, Romania during the 80s

Sigyn is intersex but hides this by her magic, she switches between male and female forms whenever she feels like it. (Uses she/her and he/him)

She has major ptsd from her time in Hydra.

She looks Asian, has long black hair, and is skinny

She was one of the only people that cared for the soldat's health, and often starved herself to make sure that he ate

She has problems with body dysmorphia

Whenever Bucky has nightmares, she comforts him in Russian, which she learned only for him.

She can speak Romanian, Japanese, Korean, English, and speaks some Russian.

She is an extrovert, but has social anxiety

Sigyn escaped Hydra with the help of the soldat (Bucky)

In her male form, she is called Sigryn

Headcanon : For some time, it is believed that all of the Valkyries have died in the Massacre of the Valkyrie.

Of fucking course everyone was devastated upon the news. Thor, his friends and Loki all mourned for the supposed passing of Brunnhilde and Sigyn.

Loki was a teenager when he heard that, yet when he heard that Sigyn ( an old friend of his ) possibly died, something just punctured his heart inside ( he honestly have no idea what that was ).

That is, until in Thor Ragnarok, it is revealed that Brunnhilde escaped to Sakaar to try recover from her grief and PTSD by working for the Grandmaster and also excessive drinking.

Then, in New Asgard, Brunnhilde confessed to Thor that she has dreams of several of her old Valkyrie compatriots.

Loki basically built a temple with Sigyn's helmet in Thor Ragnarok and his last words in Infinity War being ' Undying fidelity ', implying that Loki might dream of Sigyn, and Sigyn has probably escaped to another timeline at this point.

So it is implied that maybe, just maybe, Brunnhilde isnt the only survivor in the Massacre of the Valkyrie

There might be several others who survived but escaped to different planets or timelines

So I'm Writing a (Somewhat) MCU-Compliant Loki/Sigyn Fanfic

And it's possible that by the time this post goes up, I will have completed and published the fic. (I'm really hoping this does not cause me to procrastinate.) I desperately want to talk about it, but I also don't want to risk talking about stuff that ends up getting cut when I revise, and like I said, the more I draw attention to it publicly, to more my brain historically likes to shy away from actually finishing it.

So instead I'm both queueing this for hopefully a date after it's already been published or close to publication, and instead of talking about it, I'm going to post my playlist for it. This is pretty strictly fic vibes, so it's not necessarily 100% relevant to the plot and many songs likely don't sync up to the more widely fandom-accepted headcanons for the ship.

Sleeping Sickness, by City and Colour: This is the song I was listening to when I conceived of the fic idea (which is pretty incredible, because I haven't been able to listen to City and Colour for like a decade, so I usually skip it when it comes on. (Bad break-up+inability to remember which C&C song really fucks me up = 10 years of skipping all C&C songs.) I was distracted by Loki/Sigyn posts and let the song play.) So the working plan is the fic title is going to come from one of the lyrics, but I haven't decided which lyric yet.

I feel like, if mcu loki had kids before asgard being destroyed, actually even before finding out he is jotun bc he has always being too much othered, he wouldn't fully trust the servants/nannies/those people that take care and teaching stuff to nobles kids but i don't know the name exactly, like, I imagine him and sigyn going to their baby's nursery and taking them to their room, people would complain they cuddle them too much and loki would be like "well, at 3 am my child was crying and no one except for me and my wife came to see whe he needs".

and spending time with thor only supervisioned, (sorry for annoying you and info dumping you with my headcanon ...) bc one day when the baby already knew how to walk, the managed to escape the nursery and walk by the palace's corridors, then thor found them, and thor brought them to the trainning area on his shoulder, then loki found them both and like "it is not a place to bring babies".......

I mean I always liked the headcanon of Sigyn and Loki being way more hands on with their sons than what's expected from royalty. Their own parental issues making them to want to be more close with their children.

Another headcanon being for as much happiness and love Loki's family brings him he can never take true comfort in it. He's too full of self doubt and insecurity to not believe something going to ruin this bit of happiness that's just his. Yeah, if he fond out about being Jotun after having Narvi and Vali it would completely destroy whatever balance Loki had in his family. He already believed he was just a tool in canon when found the truth and it would break him all the more to have that burden be projected on his children.

Loki would never trust Thor alone with his children. Although Thor would insist and plead he could be trusted with his nephews. Loki would require someone else be watching Thor before he's allowed to babysit

Well considering there is basically no canon to speak of, everything is canon so feel free to play around with any of this.

Headcanon A:  Realistic

Sigyn has always had an interest in magic, well before she met Loki. It's part of the reason she and Frigga got along so quickly. Even if she never married Loki, she would have been one of Frigga's favorite ladies to speak to in court.

Headcanon B: While it May Not be Realistic it is Hilarious

Inadvertently kick started the events that would lead to Al Capone getting arrested for tax evasion. (for more details, click the link)

Headcanon C: Heart-Crushing and Awful, but Fun to Inflict on Friends

A reoccurring anxiety Sigyn has is the thought of being used. Her parents used her to support her own status for most of her life, looking to her as a prop in the image of a perfect family. With Loki she hoped she found somebody who saw her as her own person, not a toy to be played with and thrown away. But because of Loki's own fears of rejection, most of the problems in their marriage comes from his seemingly doing just that, picking her up only to push her away again.

It's a cycle that never seems to end until one of them puts a stop to it. It's also why so many Sigyns across the multiverse end up dead, abused and/or alone. Only a handful of Lokis know how to break the cycle and even fewer Sigyns know when to walk away.

Headcanon D: Unrealistic, but I Will Disregard Canon About it because I Reject Canon Reality and Substitute My Own.

Sigyn in alive and well in the MCU and so is Loki. After the events of Endgame, they decided take a well deserved vacation complete with beach cocktails and regular couples therapy.

Looking for a Marvel (Loki) Roleplay

Hello everyone! I (23 years old, female) am in desperate need of new roleplay partners that are equally as invested in our characters and stories as me. I love to play as Sigyn (mainly based on headcanons with some norse mythology input) and are looking for someone that likes playing Loki (marvel).

If you are interested in writing with me please be literate (length of replies can vary but please no boring one liners) and open minded to all sorts of storylines. We can discuss our plot beforehand and also talk about boundaries. Currently I'm really seeking a friends to lovers storyline between Loki and Sigyn but I am open to all kind of ideas. I would love to hear your ideas as well and work on our preferred story. However I do mostly wish to write something romantic. So if we could add romance to our story that would be great. I prefer some good slow burn romance such as angst and drama, some fluff is also fun :).

I am very open timeline wise. The story can fit into the mcu but that isn't necessary. It also could be fit into any movie (for example Thor 1, Avengers, Thor TDW, Thor Ragnarok and so on) or into the Loki series. (or after all of it if we can find a way to make it work).

If you haven't seen the Loki series yet we don't have to include it at all. I don't want to spoiler anyone!

I know I said I was going to make my MCU Sigyn Alternate Universe master post soon, but the end of the university is overwhelming, so I give you this abstract on her name and family

Sigyn Sælldóttir

Sigyn is a name formed of the Norse words Sigr - meaning victory and Vina - meaning friend. Her name hence means "the friend of victory" or "victorious girl friend"

As for her last name, I was inspired by another Norse word related to victory, Sigrsæll - meaning victorious

Considering that names relating to victory in battle could be a family tradition and also considering Asgard as a military culture, I decided the name of her father could be Sæll - meaning fortunate and happy, and because of its part in the forming of the word Sigrsæll.

(Also I followed the sources that place her as part of the Æsir, while I love the headcanons of Sigyn as a Vanir, it just worked for the ideas I had)

As for her mother, I was inspired by one of Sigyn's kenning, the Incantation Fetter. That kenning also inspired the way I see her specific style of seidr, and how she uses it to bind or unbind, for example. (It will be elaborated in another post I promise)

Since seidr is seen as more of a feminine attribute even in MCU Asgard (see Frigga and Eir), this type of seidr that Sigyn has is inherited from her mother, whose name relates to it as well.

The Norse adjective fjǫtra, meaning bind or fetter is my base, from which I made the name Fjǫtra (yeah, not so creative but hey)
