Hello there, I recently became a follower and I love your writing so far, keep up the great work and I hope you’re having a wonderful day
I saw that requests are open so if it’s alright, can I get headcannons of the first years (separate) and shows/movies they’d enjoy watching with the reader?
Thought it’ll be pretty fun and an excuse for me to get recommendations lol, thank you!
Hello, Aesthetic! Thank you for your kind words! This was a bit of a challenge for Mx Tattly, since they are not a huge movie person. However she hopes you still enjoy his takes. They also wrote from the perspective of the Prefect/Yuu having access to some movies from their world of origin. Enjoy!
Movie night, otherworldly edition
Characters: Grim, Ace, Deuce, Jack, Epel, Ortho, Sebek and GN!Reader (separate)
Warnings: food mention (Epel's part)
By opening the document, you agree to Mx Tattly's terms of source confidentiality.

Grim's preffered genres are: comedy, action, animation, fantasy
Grim trully is a child at heart, and all the colorful characters and scenes from animation have him hooked
He also enjoys a good laugh, especially visual gags
He barely has any attention to spare for a series, so movies are his preffered format
He would never admit it but he's a sucker for found family
Silent movie crier
Loud denier
Some favorites from your world: Home; Bolt; That one Wizard Boy Movie we Don't mention in This Household; he has a weird relationship with Ace Ventura
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Ace's preffered genres are: horror, thriller, action, adventure
He enjoys gorey stuff and being the guy you hide behind of when the scenes get too much, but he needs time to prepare for psychological horror
Ace is the type to look up spoilers before watching something and he tries to trick you into believing his made up version of the plot
He talks a lot during movies but hates when others do it
While he enjoys a good adventure movie, he hates superhero movies and he thinks they're silly
He prefers movies over series because he likes the format more, but he's down for a short series
Some favorites from your world: The Mummy; Jumanji (he loves making fun of it); American Psycho; Scary Movie
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Deuce's preffered genres are: action, adventure, animation, family movies
He is pretty easy to please, he'd watch anything that is entertaining
Definitely a Marvel fan
He also loves animation movies, the animation always leaves him awestruck
He likes movies about families and their bonds
Deuce is also surprisingly into medical dramas... but also cop dramas
He is a crier as well but only when he's just with you
Some favorites from your world: Black Panther; The Rookie; A Goofy movie; Police Academy 2
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Jack's preferred genres are: documentary, adventure, romance, dramas and telenovelas with a bit of nudging
Jack is the type of guy to retain various informations after watching something
He can sometimes memorise entire scenes, and he finds that habit less annoying when he watches documentaries; he likes something informative and motivational
Jack also enjoys some romance movies sometimes, but he is very picky so it's hard for him to find one he actually likes
He does, however, like to point out and comment on the weird courting habits humans have
Jack finds telenovelas and soap operas kind of nonsensical and overly dramatic, but he also gets hooked on the plot pretty quick and soon enough it would become a bit of a guilty pleasure
Some favorites from your world: David Holmes, the boy who lived; the social dilemma; Love, Simon; Yo soy Betty la fea
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Epel's preferred genres are: comedy, action, western, anything he can mock and make fun of
If you think Ace is bad with his mid watch commentary, Epel is 10 times worse
He mocks things in movies so often he's giving Cinema Sins a run for their money
He won't shut up even if you give him all the snacks, he'll talk while eating
He also has the most colourful, boisterous, ridiculous laughter imaginable (and I say that lovingly), so if the comedy movie is not making you laugh then Epel's laughter is
Epel is not a picky watcher so he can get behind anything that isn't too sappy
If you pull out anything with Vil on the poster though he will dematerialise from your couch
Some favorites from your world: Rush Hour; Desperado; Puss in Boots 2; any Fast and Furious movie (unfortunately)
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Ortho's preferred genres are: anything he finds intriguing, family movies
If anything, Ortho has a wide palate and can enjoy almost anything
He also knows how a movie ends before he watches it, but it never ruins his enjoyment
He never spoils anyone unless they try to argue with him about the direction of the plot
Most of his interest in movies came from wanting to understand human behavior better, but now he can just use them as a time killer or sleepover material
He also likes watching your reactions to the movies: how often you laugh, how often you cry, how often you reach for snacks
A favorite from your world: Big Hero 6
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Sebek's preferred genres are: historical films, (period) dramas, musicals with the right nudge
Listen here, musical enjoyers. Here is the most susceptible one to being convinced to join the dark side
One word: Hamilton.
Yes, he'll think the music is nonsensical, BUT he'll also tap his foot to it
AND if you say anything about teaching him something from the soundtrack to surprise Malleus with, he's all ears
He is also very quick to get songs stuck in his head: he's easy prey
All jokes aside, Sebek can be a good watch buddy when his interest is piqued
Not even he can deny when a movie has good plot and characters
He does prefer period dramas, since he has a soft spot for the setting
And historical films: a nerd do be nerding even during movie nights
Some favorites from your world: The Crown, Hamilton, Les Miserables, maybe Oppenheimer but it would be used in his anti-human agenda
『••✎••』
Speaking of Oppenheimer...
Well, let's discuss Barbenheimer.
Everyone went to watch both movies:
Ace went dressed in pink for the both of them
Deuce got confused by the "dresscode" and apologised to you for not knowing about it
Jack and Ortho enjoyed both
Epel insisted he liked Oppenheimer more but he's lying
Sebek cried at the end of Barbie
Grim is the only one who in fully in Oppenheimer's corner

You are an ex-Avenger, rescued by T'Challa during one of his missions during his short affiliation with the group. Broken and scarred, physically, mentally, and emotionally, T'Challa teaches you what it means to live, while his sister, Shuri, teaches you what it means to smile.
Fandom: Black Panther
Pairing: Princess Shuri Udaku x Black!Masc!Ex-Avenger!Reader
Authors Note: This story is possible thanks to the imaginative request of @kingstormpostsshit ! The original idea should be credited to them, but the storyline is an original of mine and should be treated as such.
This will be a 10-15 part story shipping Shuri Udaku of Marvel's "Black Panther" franchise, and a black masculine presenting woman who is an ex-avenger (however, you may adjust certain appearance descriptors to better fit your appearance!). The story will shift from present to past, the past being in the form of flashbacks, and will be italicized to represent as such. A new part/chapter will be release once a week, either on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday at the latest. Teasers will be released the day before posting the part/chapter. Interruptions of this posting schedule will be announced before the expected release date.
Content/Trigger Warnings: there will be mentions of the following, including but not limited to - cursing, injuries, blood, medical and scientific illegal/malpractices depression, severe anxiety, death including minor and major characters, processing of grief, the endurance and processing black peoples' ancestral and generational trauma (especially revolving around water), racial, political and humanitarian topics, and discussion of black love in its relation to black survival. There will be spoilers for Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, as well as minor hints to other marvel movie plots (I want to note I have only ever seen the Black Panther movies and Spiderman: No Way Home, therefore most key parts of this series influenced by other Marvel storylines will be influenced by my precious betareaders, and they will be credited).

Marvel Studios: Voices Rising - The Music Of Wakanda Forever [Series]
Tumblr media
Episode #1: "Nigeria: Past is Present" [available on Disney +] [w/ time stamps to follow along]
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
▻ "Soundtrack's like this just don't happen anymore, with the high percentage of the songs that are embedded in the movie, and to this level of cultural specificity." - Ryan Coogler [Director] [0:00]
▻ "Here you have a story that intertwines people [Wakandans & Talokanil] of beautiful, rich ethnicities. What do you do with that as a composer? You use it!” - Letitia Wright [Princess Shuri] [0:14]
▻ We learn that Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Göransson first started off as friends, meeting one another at a film school [USC]. They then hit it off from their joint love of Swedish music. "They make magic together, and they seem to just pick up where the other has left off. They just have this seamless way of getting in each other's heads and hearts, and it ends up creating such incredible music.” - Lupita Nyong'o [Nakia] [1:51]
Tumblr media
▻ The first Black Panther soundtrack is heavily inspired by Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther and his overall character. After his passing, they had to go back to square one. "I couldn't really imagine what the movie [soundtrack] would feel or look like without Chadwick in it. So, I'm basically going into this experience starting from scratch." - Ludwig Göransson [Composer] [2:42]
▻ They [Ryan and Ludwig] chose to go to Nigeria, Lagos to recruit artists and composers, it being a major hotspot for music in the world currently. "What Lagos is to music right now is what London was to music in its heyday. What New York was to hip-hop in the 90's. I genuinely believe the most exciting music in the world is being made in Lagos." - Seni Saraki [Music Consultant] [3:16]
▻ "Ludwig came to Lagos, because he, as a creative, understands the need to feed off of the energy of a particular place." - Fireboy DML [Artist] [4:04]
Tumblr media
▻ There were a huge mixture of both contemporary artists [ie. singers, rappers, etc] and traditional artists [ie. musicians, instrumentalists for the score such as, but not limited to: Jedalo Percussion Ensemble, Fusion Nigeria] coming together to create this soundtrack. Instruments such as, but not limited to, the: sato drum, sakara drum, iyaálù bata, omele bata, kakaki horn, ojà flute, goje were all used on the traditional side. "Everyday we had different sessions with musicians that would come from different tribes from the Igbo, from the Hausa, from Yoruba and they would have their own instruments and different types of set of drums." - Ludwig Göransson [Composer] [5:57] Ryan and Ludwig are seen workshopping ideas of scenes and where musical segments may exist in the movie during these musical sessions [7:28]
▻ "He [Ludwig] and Ryan had been talking about it for years. ‘Let's write songs just for this film.’ There's no licensed tracks." - Monica Sonand [Score Supervisor] [9:39]
▻ “The generation that I'm in right now is speaking Afrobeats. We are all doing our own things individually, but as a unit together, we are pushing the culture. This is Afrobeats. This is Niger. This is Lagos. We're taking that old culture with us to the world." - Fireboy DML [Artist] [10:48] His song “Coming back for you" was used towards the end of the movie in the scene where Shuri is shown planting the heart-shaped herb [12:15]
Tumblr media
▻ Ryan and Ludwig wanted to have artists who sang in Xhosa [the language of the Wakandans] so they did their research and flew out artists from South Africa to Nigeria to meet with them. The music style “Amapiano” had the sound that they were looking for, which plays on most South African radio. "It's so unique and it comes out of the club scene there [South Africa] and it makes you want to dance. What I love about that music [Amapiano] is that it feels futuristic to me." - Ludwig Göransson [Composer] [15:05]
▻ Ryan, Ludwig and artist Bloody Civilian are shown brainstorming Bloody’s beats pack she made for them, discussing where her track may exist. She showed them her song “How to kill a man. “I was very nervous, but the environment felt safe and everyone's creativity was just going. It didn't really feel like work at some point." - Bloody Civilian [Artist + Producer] [23:04] Her final track in the movie “Wake up" ft Rema is about "pushing yourself regardless of the things that try to pull you back." - Bloody Civilian [Artist + Producer] [24:33]
▻ Some of the African producers involved were ecstatic to have representation of a variety of African artists and sounds on this Marvel movie and it’s soundtrack. "I think the album sounds like Wakanda!" - Osarumen Osamuyi [Music Producer] [25:28]
▻ "I've been able to travel here [Nigeria] with Ryan, one of my closest friends. Doing something like this together where we can share this experience has been such a blessing." - Ludwig Göransson [Composer] [25:52] "It was really important for us [Ludwig and him] to come to West Africa. Myself being African-American, a lot of my heritage is from here like most African-Americans. The biggest take away for me is the personal connection that I have myself. I'm constantly looking at people saying ‘that person looks like my cousin, that person looks like my friend, that person looks like my brother.' That experience is one that's very different from being a black man that was born and raised in a predominantly white country. Folks born on the continent often take for granted to just walk down the street and everybody looks like them. That wasn't my truth. That wasn’t my reality. It's a very strange experience to fly for thousands of miles and land somewhere you've never been, but it feels like home. There's a beauty to that, but also a sadness that comes with it.” - Ryan Coogler [Director] [26:06]

The Not So Secret Santa Advent Calendar 2022 [December 2nd]
The Not So Secret Santa Advent Calendar 2022 Masterlist
Summary: No one thought the Avengers would be back after the final battle against Thanos. But here they are, a brand new team, moving into the shiny new headquarters right in time for Christmas. They are made to do Secret Santa for team building, and Bucky sees it as an opportunity to do something special for a certain someone…
Pairings/characters: Bucky Barnes x reader (but not really), Maria Hill and a whole bunch of other people too many to name here Warnings: None Words: 237
For @iguess-theyre-mymess
Tumblr media
"What do you think?" Maria asked when she pulled away, glancing back towards the building she had just come out of. "Pepper designed it herself."
"Pepper did this?" I asked in awe. It was several stories high but looked much sleeker than the bulky thing that had been there before. It was still made of glass and steel, but most of it was covered in a living wall, making it look green, comfy, and eco-friendly. "It's beautiful."
Maria hummed in agreement, but then shuddered. "Let's go inside, it's freezing. And everyone is waiting in the briefing room." She nodded her head towards one of the upper floors. "The Avengers' very own briefing room."
The headquarters was just as impressive inside, it was clear Pepper had another talent up her sleeve. It was much warmer and felt comfier, and there was much more focus on a living environment with so many plants and so much greenery it almost felt like being outside. A much better outside than the actual outside, which was cold and frosty and grey at the moment.
Maria guided me to the elevator and it took us up to the seventh floor. When the doors slid opened, we stepped right into the briefing room. Looking up at our entrance was Captain America, Rescue, Winter Soldier, Spider Man, War Machine, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Thor, Hulk, Ant Man and Wasp. *
"Welcome to team building," Maria said.
* Note: I haven’t caught up on the newest series and I haven’t seen Thor 4 or Black Panther 2 yet, because of complex reasons, so I’ve taken a lot of artistic license with who the new Avengers are and which characters I am imagining in this world as I write. Also, when I say Captain America, it’s Sam Wilson’s cap. I don’t approve of the ending they gave Steve, but he’s given the shield to Sam somehow, which I very much approve of. And Steve will not play a role in this story.

ooc: BW canons
// I love reading y'all's BW canons but I also enjoy the fact that my main character canonically existed in both G1 and BW as the same person (and in IDW G1 and BW as the same person, although in later IDW they killed her so idkwot).
// I also love having her poke her head in around the multiverse because in Japanese canon Ravage does that shit all the time. Sometimes openly as Ravage and sometimes under other names (Black Panther is the funniest, it makes me imagine Marvel shenanigans). She isn't in Victory or any of the big Japanese series but she's all over Kiss Players and some of the other less-known manga, usually being very, very annoyed. (In KP everyone thinks Black Panther's a villain until they realise that they've all been duped into working for Unicron.)

Apparently, the latest issue of the Rogue and Gambit mini-series had Rogue and Gambit clashing with Black Panther in a bar (another one of those "Why don't they just talk to each other?" scenarios), and Gambit wound up tying an innocent woman to a gas stove and lighting it on fire to distract Black Panther so that he and Rogue could get away.
What the actual fuck Marvel?
I'd say this is the worst character assassination I've seen in awhile, but Nature Girl and Beast are still unrepentant serial killers, so nah. Still. I can't imagine who this series is for. Does Marvel really think that the people buying this series want to see Gambit act like that?

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe has expanded into television, its musical reach has also grown, embracing diversity both in terms of its composers and the music they make.
English composer Natalie Holt (pictured above) brought unexpected sonorities to “Loki”; Cairo-based Hesham Nazih added specific Egyptian sounds to “Moon Knight”; and American composer Laura Karpman employed a traditional orchestra and choir on the animated “What If…?”
“Loki is sort of a likable baddie,” says Holt, “a grand, Machiavellian, Shakespearean character, so I wanted some kind of gravitas, classical weight, to his theme.”
Yet, in last summer’s six-part series, the Norse god of mischief (Tom Hiddleston) is also playing with time, which suggested more unusual sounds: the wailing of a theremin and its equally eerie French cousin, the ondes Martenot.
“I’d been listening to [Lithuanian theremin virtuoso] Clara Rockmore and [BBC Radiophonic Workshop pioneer] Delia Derbyshire,” Holt explains. “The sound of the theremin has stayed with me and I’ve always wanted to use it somewhere. I just experimented and the character of it really seemed to suit the score.”
She added an electronically manipulated tick-tock sound for the Time Variance Authority and a pair of Norwegian folk instruments (Hardanger fiddle, nyckelharpa) for the mysterious Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) and her link to Loki’s mother Frigga. “I loved these two powerful forces coming together and blending them, giving [the series] the orchestral weight of Wagner but with this unusual twisty edge.”
“Moon Knight” involved vengeful Egyptian gods and their modern-day avatars, and Egyptian director Mohamed Diab needed music that was “classical, Egyptian, yet has an appeal for a normal audience,” composer Nazih says. “You feel the spirit and the vibes of Egypt within the lines of the orchestra.”
Since Khansou, the Egyptian moon god, figures prominently in the storyline, it was an astonishing coincidence that Nazih found himself in the Temple of Khansou in Luxor mere days before his first meeting with Diab. “They opened a room not usually open to visitors, one made especially for meditation and prayers. I stood up, looked up in the sky, and it was a full moon,” he recalled, thinking it a good omen for the project to come.
The moody atmosphere and the frequent battles demanded a large-scale orchestra and choir (62 musicians, 36 singers), all recorded in Vienna and augmented with soloists on Egyptian folk instruments – including the arghul and mizmar, both woodwinds, and the stringed rebaba – in Cairo. “They don’t feel like intruders to the texture of a classical orchestra,” Nazih says, “but they have a prominent presence and sonority.”
“I had a theme for Moon Knight (Oscar Isaac) and one for Harrow (Ethan Hawke); those themes chase one another and sometimes collided,” he adds.
Karpman may have faced the biggest creative challenge of all with “What If…?,” the nine-part animated series that imagined alternate realities for several Marvel heroes including Captain America, the Black Panther, Iron Man, Thor and the Avengers.
The composer quoted the characters’ movie themes, in many instances, but “filtered” through her own harmonic language, “somewhere between modernism and contemporary film scoring,” she says. “These things exist in the MCU, but we find a different angle, a different way to tell the story.”
For Emmy consideration, Marvel is entering episode 4, in which Doctor Strange, in his pre-mystic-arts surgery career, attempts to reverse the moment in time in which his girlfriend Christine Palmer survives the car crash that killed her and disabled him. “That particular episode is the most personal, poignant,” she says. “He uses his powers to undo the mistakes, so it’s a tragic love story. My job was to try and capture what it is to love, and not ever be able to find that love.”
The Watcher, narrator for each episode, is represented in the series’ main title, which features the sounds of shattered glass (for the jagged images of the many characters) and a choir singing, backwards, phrases including “what if,” “Marvel” and “Stan Lee,” co-creator of so many comic-book characters.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - Spoiler Review
Tumblr media
This is a very spoilery review, so enter if you dare...
I loved this movie so much. It really felt like a goodbye to Chadwick, from start to finish. There were moments that were hard to watch, including the intro which was hair-raisingly silent, the funeral and seeing the Black Panther suit on somebody else (which I'll talk more about later). I know there's a lot of controversy surrounding T'Challa being recast but I genuinely believe this was the better approach. It would have been weird to pretend like Chadwick never existed. I can't just erase him from my mind for a new actor, nor do I want to. Chadwick played T'Challa with such grace and perfection and had led some of my favourite scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in general. I'm also so glad that T'Challa wasn't just killed by someone off screen or something ridiculous. They made it a similar cause of death and even mentioned how he suffered in silence, which was a really sweet touch. Chadwick was so strong, up until the very end. It feels nice, knowing his memory is being honoured.
Going into this, I had no idea what the plot was going to be, other than Namor being the villain. So I didn't realise that Riri Williams was going to be playing a major role in this movie. Immediately, I was enamoured by her character, so I'm ready to learn more about her. There were some hints to her background which I appreciated - I like having some mystery to her until her series. The design of her suits were really fun and creative. The original homemade one was a lot of fun and I loved the parallels she had with Tony Stark. When she pushed the limits and went as high as she could go to take down the satellite and even her workshop had the Stark vibe. There were nice nods to her inspiration, but it still very much felt like her own character. She's not a knock-off Tony, she's more than that.
Namor's a little shit and I love it. I'll be honest, I wasn't thrilled that he was going to be the villain in this movie. I've recently started getting into comics and started reading the original issues from the 60's and Namor is the most arrogant prick on the pages so far. I wasn't a fan of his character, especially the winged feet, but the MCU made him likable (and I'm sure the comics will eventually down the line). They instantly made him a formidable foe, with the help of Letitia and Angela's acting. They made it look so easy, to capture Shuri and Riri and defeat Okoye. I would have liked more background on the people around Namor, maybe show us a bit more personality, because they felt a bit like Stormtroopers (faceless henchmen). However, they made up for it with Namor's backstory. They hit you with this gut punch of reality, that Namor stepped onto land and witnessed humans enslaving humans. The realisation that the surface world, the world his mother adored, had become a place to fear and pity. Namor's just looking for an excuse to rule the surface world, to bring order and punishment to us and perhaps we deserve it. I am quite surprised they didn't mention sea pollution though...
I loved Shuri in the original movie and I loved her in this one too, however they feel like very different characters. And it's understandable, she lost her brother. But even so, I definitely felt the shift from side character to protagonist very quickly. I'm not a huge fan of Letitia, but she and the writers made me emphathise with her right away. I will say, I disagree that she should be the Black Panther. I know that she's T'Challa's sister, but she's not a fighter. She's a scientist. The Black Panther is meant to protect the country, so I personally think the herb should've been given to Okoye. She's the literal protector of the throne and is such an incredibly skilled fighter - imagine what she could do with the herb. It just makes sense to me that it would be Okoye. Shuri can be the Midnight Sun instead. I'd also be okay with Nakia being the Black Panther, but I'm also quite happy with the idea of her coming and going from Wakanda as she pleases. I will say, why not split the herb? Why not give it to multiple people - especially at a time like this. Why not give it to Riri, Okoye and Nakia during that epic battle? We know we can trust them, so we may as well get all the help we can get.
I will say, this movie seemed pretty dark in lighting. I don't know if that's just me, but even in a cinema, it felt like it was darker than usual Marvel movies. I understand, because long portions of it is set at night/underwater, but I wish they had still lightened it up a little bit more, because there were some moments where the acting was literally overshadowed.
If Angela Bassett doesn't get an Oscar for this role, I'm suing somebody. Flawless performances. I got so many full-body chills. The scene where she's firing Okoye as the general is one of my new favourite scenes. Although I'm on Okoye's side, Angela's performance and the writing for her character made it impossible to argue with her. Such a powerful scene. I was so mad when Ramonda died. I will say, I wish she had a more epic death, but I guess when the villain is of the seas, someone dying of drowning is reasonable. It just felt like a bit of a lame way to go for such an impactful character. But maybe I'm just upset she died at all. I did think for a moment that Okoye was going to save her, to prove she was worthy to be general buuuut that didn't happen.
That end credit scene though? A son named T'Challa? I almost cried. I think if/when I watch that scene again I'll bawl. Such a beautiful way to continue T'Challa's legacy. I'm curious if T'Challa jr will inherit the Black Panther powers, because I'm assuming his parents did it while T'Challa sr was still the Black Panther. I'm also assuming that they're still setting up the Young Avengers, with T'Challa jr being another addition. That's very, very interesting. Really excited to see how that develops in the future.
It goes without saying, but the music was 10/10. Loved it. Gave me goosebumps several times.
I absolutely loved this movie and despite there are certain things I'd have done differently, I'm not mad at the movie at all. It's a great addition to Phase 4.
