We put too much authority on humanly love, and when we fail to seek those who accept our flaws every day, without judgement or pity, we slander the beauty we once felt as deranged. We close our hearts in hope that this indifference will liberate us of injuries that our futures might hold. We condemn ourselves to a world of eternal agony- a one that is laughing, menacingly, at all things that could have been.
This is to those willing to take that jump, know that you are embraced by the divinity of the love that lingers beyond all that is reachable. Look at the horizon, and you will know what a pity is it to live in a world of eternal summer, yet to be indifferent to the pastures that welcome those who seek adventure with unwavering, open arms.
An eternal expanse of perennial goodness and glory, where the warm summer breeze make bees dance and birdsongs invite autumn home. You don't pluck the pretty flowers that sway with the crisp morning air that makes your chest rise and rise and rise as if there can't be enough air to full your lungs with all the richness the first light brings, and when the shield of the sun weakens and you can't help but look up the night sky where stars keenly glance through all what the night brings as if in protest against the darkness.
The ocean, that lies in wait for explorers, is calm now. And you can see the reflection of the night sky shimmering in the undulating waters. And as you hear the monotonous song of waves hitting against the cliff, you finally remember that you are always loved, and just because you fail to notice it doesn’t mean that you are not worthy of it.

Today I’ll be spending my first new years with friends. I’m nervous but I’m also really excited. This is the perfect way to end 2023, which I spent trying new things and facing my fears. And the perfect way to begin 2024, which I will spend continuing in the same streak

Existential peace
I’ve heard so many theories about why we are here on this planet
But I think my favourite is that we are simply the universe wanting to experience itself.
We’ve made life so complicted and stressful
But maybe we are stars curious of the earth.
A little piece of the galaxy, wanting to feel the dirt beneath its feet.
Wanting to fall in love and feel its heart beat.
Maybe our only purpose here is to simply be and enjoy what unfolds.

Me every day since then: DID I SQUANDER MY DIVINITY? WAS HAPPINESS WITHIN ME THIS WHOLE TIME?

Okay but can we talk about the Lich’s reaction to meeting Golb? The way he demands answers for having no satisfaction from his purpose is astounding and I love it
No it was really eye opening and clarifying to see it cause it reminded me what Golb is, even when mixed with Betty:
The embodiment of chaos and random force of nature.
Destruction is just one form of chaos and nature that the Lich completely devoted himself to only to be left feeling hollow. Golb has no goals or even long term plans as Golbetty, it just is and it’s a fools errand to think there is something that truly appeases it. The Lich felt like he should’ve earned something cause he simply thought he was worshiping a god but it was more like a concept he could see.
In a way it’s emblematic of Simon who also got his wish but felt empty. The difference is Simon learned what was actually missing to fill that hole.

Betty is so relatable I would do the same shit for my wife
#simon petrikov#original#at#the moment where she declares that she's jumping into the future to save him. just pure save-husband impulse#and maybe she made the wrong choice but I felt the emotion in my gut and that's good tragedy baby#I would do the same thing and then be in the future and realize I probably fucked up but also what else could I do but#devote my entire life and sanity to saving her after I have destroyed every other option??#it's not healthy necessarily but a fucking apocalypse happened and her wife is in eternal torment. what else could she possibly do??#I'm just obsessed with the attitude she has towards saving him and how it turns from joyful heroism to unhealthy obsession#I have a much healthier relationship with my wife. but also she's never been driven mad by a magical crowd for a thousand years!#and Betty did it!! y'all can argue about whether Ice King was better than Simon and I think he must make peace with every part of himself#but it is extremely consistent in the original series that being Ice King is basically this existentially horrifying Eternal torture#so the fact that someone who loved him decided they would save him from that at all costs is very sad and very beautiful#beautiful because no one deserves to suffer forever. tragic because she was far to willing to take his place if she had to.#betty grof#fionna and cake#golbetty#golb#*driven mad by a magical crown#you forgot your floaties#edit: upon rewatching every episode with betty in it i will say i don't think i would be so hellbent on murdering the person she had become#betty does act selfishly and it makes her character more compelling#but i like to think if my wife went banana-pants ice-king-level bonkers i would be able to love that version of her too#but who's to say whether this story would be the reason I responded differently?#it's a good story

where’s that little horror piece about kits never growing up in Starclan? because I remember it so vividly but I can’t find it.
The one about Bright Stream?
Weird that it's so hard to find! It's probably because it's got such heavy tags lmao.
I really mean it though like, canon's permakitten system and the idea that Bright Stream is up there, forever taking care of fetus children who were filled by sudden knowledge and yet never grow past that point absolutely horrifies me. Jesus Christ. I don't know how anyone reads that final scene in Path of Stars and isn't filled with itching, white-hot existential dread, man.
Sometimes you just gotta write horror about it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
#partner and i were joking the other day about how like#they are the one known as The Horror Blogger and im the funny cat guy#because it's literally the opposite irl. you have NO idea#They are the one who is squeamish and I am the one that is like#only scared if there's 17 different kinds of existential horror#Which tbf is important in my line of work#But let me tell YOU. One thing that gets me every time? Fucked up afterlives#Probably from all the religious trauma but. Still.#''turns out your whole life is actually teetering on the precipice of a steep drop into the jaws of unknowable gods--#and their concept of omnibenevolent and omnimalevolent are self-defined''#''in death your life only has meaning to those still living and yet you're conscious to experience it''#''you will helplessly watch people you thought loved YOU reduce your memory into how you SERVED them''#''Powerless to stop it you will find that you were only valued as a tool in someone else's life''#''There is no peace in death just being tired and uncomfortable forever''#EURGH#It's why my most feared monsters are actually ghosts and vampires and certain zombies#Because it's not really about the monster it's more about what that monster implies for the afterlife#Certain zombies especially. ngl. Night of the livin dead 2 has the scariest ones ever#Intelligent. Violent. Able to FEEL themselves rotting and the only relief is to consume everything you ever loved#BRR#they did eat a bunch of cops tho so... at least they have that going for them#BONES MCRAMBLES IN THE TAGS#bone babble

I think it's time we all admit that What if?...Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead Of His Hands? has been the only genuinely interesting and well done episode of the show so far.
High stakes, good pacing, phenomenal animation, and a story that actually deviates from the original in a meaningful way. It actually feels like such a small change lead to a vastly different reality.
I think what makes a What If? story interesting is the ties it has to the main timeline; if you want to showcase how a small choice can utterly change a whole universe, then you have to start in a universe that is comparably the same as what we already know, and show how one character choosing one different option can be catastrophic. Otherwise, you aren't really exploring branching timelines/butterfly effect, you're just looking at unrelated universes.
Even then, not every idea is interesting enough to warrant spending so much time on it. *ahem* captain carter *cough*.
Strange Supreme's appearances are just so fascinating because we get to see the new highs and lows a character can reach when their hearts are in a slightly different place. We get our unique factor in the form of him being genuinely in love with Christine instead of his job, and then our diverging path with him choosing to seek out dangerous knowledge, a choice which is highlighted by showcasing what would have happened if he hadn't done so! In the end, the universe is fundamentally changed, completely collapsed around him, despite starting off so normal. And that's not even the end of it!
He shows up in more episodes because of the power and knowledge he has attained, and as a lesson to the Watcher that choosing to sit out is only selfishness in the face of a danger that is ready and willing to take advantage of your compliance. It is genuinely fun to see the power he has in action; Ultron tried to blow up the universe in the finale, and Strange DEVOURED THE EXPLOSION. Like, that's fucking awesome!
And then there's Carter... Whose reason for being everwhere is just "I'm Captain Carter!" How dull...
Anyways, Strange supreme is goated and I will have no sass.

i like the name "supernova" for adult kon for a lot of reasons (stellar metaphors and imagery are just so good) but one of the chief ones is... something something the violently bright, explosive death of a star. the intent to die brilliantly. to go out with a bang. to never go gentle into that good night. ough kon you have issues <3

Solitude
Solitary In my stance Let the waves Wash over In a hypnotic trance Catch a breath In a gulp of a frantic glance Touch the crests In a dream per chance Sigh of latent wisps Fragile in the last dance Hold on to the delicate treads Caress the moon in the deep expanse Flow with the atmospheric rhythms Grasp the air in a invisible prance Undercurrent begins to swell Acuity in the tow adheres to farewell Swimming to the island enhanced By the blooms of the violet Immortelle I see my life woosh by in a flash Startled jolted anew On the discovery of happenstance
