Nina Zenik is a whole another level of iconic. She read dark romances and said "I'll do enemies to lovers" and actually pulled it off.

one piece made me realize how good the found family trope is,,there r so many found families in op that ican’t even fit them all if i wanted to.liek the way one piece masters the concept of “you can find your family anywhere”. if u love the found family trope and havent watched one piece literaly what are u doing
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
one piece shows that you can still find your family even when you lose yours,, you arent forced to consider biological family your real family.sanji abandoning his terrible abusive biological family and finding zeff, and later joining the straw hats,, robin watching her mother and her community dying in front of her, having sauls parting words be that she will one day find friends who truly care about her,,years later meeting the straw hats, who literally declared war on the world to save her and would do it again,, law also saw his family and community die before his eyes and became consumed with hate ,,doflamingo found him and spent 3 years manipulating him and trying to mold him into a monster ,which then corazon takes law after hearing that law carries the will of d,,law and cora grow a bond , cora doing anything to save the terminally ill boy and protecting him from the hands of doflamingo,,when cora dies, law is determined to avenge his death, and he commemorates him through every single thing he does,, law learns that there was never a reason corazon loved him,and that you cant stick a reason to why somebody loves you
found family in one piece is important cuz it shows that a family can be anything. theres no such thing as to what a family is supposed to look like,, it represents many of the reasons why found family comes to be. loss, abuse, bonds,,your family is just people that genuinely respect and care about you
the lesson here is that the found family trope solos and one piece is goated

❝ Traitor ❞
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing; Luke Castellan X Fem!Reader (Daughter of Aphrodite) Warning; Angst, betrayal, manipulation, gaslighting, violence, injuries and curse words A/N; I see too many fanfics where when Luke betrays (y/n) she cries (which is completely understandable) But I need more rage and tears, so :) Tags; @riordanness
He was perfect.
He was sweet, kind, protective and loyal.
Luke was the perfect lover. (Y/N) had never felt happier, though something about him made her younger sister, Clara, uncomfortable.
Clara and (Y/N) were inseparable, always together. The big sister and the little sister. The young and the old.
Ever since Clara showed up at Camp, (Y/N) was there for her.
Sniffling and sobbing was heard behind the Aphrodite cabin—(Y/N) just so happened to hear it. The daughter of love slinked and looked around the corner to see a crying girl. Only about 12.
“Hey...” (Y/N) whispered with a sweet voice. She leaned against the wall and slid down to sit next to the young girl. “What's wrong, honey?”
“Don't call me that..” The girl said with a cracked voice. “Only my dad calls me that! And I can never see him again because I'm in this horrible place!”
“Hey hey,” The daughter of love paused. “It's not that bad.. There's plenty of things to do—and there's monsters trying to kill you... Okay, it's bad...”
(Y/N) stayed silent after her words didn't seem to help the poor girl. So she asked a question; “Do you know your godly parent yet?”
The tearful girl nodded as she sniffled. “Yea... It's.. It's Aphrodite..”
“Then that makes us sisters.” (Y/N) added to her sentence. “Aphrodite's my mother as well.” The young girl looked up, her eyes misty from the tears.
“Really?”
(Y/N) nodded. A soft smile creeping into her complexion—she had Aphrodite's eyes and lips. Her hair texture was from her father though.
“You're very pretty..” The girl sniffed, (Y/N) giggled and smiled at the compliment.
“Thank you! So are you!” The smile plastered on her face only widened.
The sniffling coming from the girl had dimished. She wiped her tears out of the way before looking back at her so-called sister.
“I'm Clara. Clara Baileys.”
“Lovely name, Clara. I'm (Y/N). (Y/N) (L/N).”
As the years flew by them, the two sisters had bonded—Clara saw (Y/N) as a true sister. One that protected her and cared for her without a need for reciprocating.
That's why when Luke came into the picture—Clara didn't trust him. She had no proof of this gut feeling, but he just felt off...
But he made (Y/N) happy, right? That's all that mattered... Right?
(Y/N) was happy, she was smiling so much. Clara couldn't take that away from her. Seeing her sister swoon and ramble over how sweet he was with her was endearing to see.
The way he'd kiss her forehead before training, the way he'd treat the Aphrodite kids with extra respect since they were related to (Y/N), even forced the Stoll brothers not to prank the Aphrodite cabin.
He's a good guy, right? Clara thought to herself. Soon her thoughts were interrupted by cheers, Luke had won another spar. So people were praising him.
(Y/N) was right next to him with the biggest smile on her pretty face. Holding onto his shoulder with a loving look in her eyes. It made Clara scoff.
Sometimes she's an idiot... He's weird.. The thoughts that lingered in her mind were broken by the sound of a familiar voice.
“Clara, right?”
The child of Aphrodite snapped her head in the direction of the voice. It was Luke Castellan. With his toned physique and dark curls.
“..Yea?” Clara answered, cocking an eyebrow. She noticed it was retty late, the sun was just setting—she was probably missing dinner, but she wasn't very hungry anyway.
“Care to walk with me?” He asked, his voice as smooth as butter. That same gut feeling Clara always got when she was around him returned.
“Umm..” Clara stuttered before glancing around. “Shouldn't you be in the Dining Pavilion?” She asked. “Or with (Y/N)..?”
“Not hungry. And (Y/N)'s busy with her meal.” Like answered, offering a hand to her. “C'mon. Just follow me.”
Clara reluctantly agreed, standing up and following him close behind.
The sunset was beautiful. The gradation from navy to pinks was gorgeous and stunning in a way no god or goddess could compare.
The stars started to appear, small twinkling lights in the dark night. The moon rose up and shone it's ethereal glimmer
The path they took was... spooky. The trees were large and wide, the branches loomed over the pair like hands ready to grab them at any given time.
Luke was silent, and it made Clara uneasy. What was going to happen? Does anyone know about this? Does (Y/N) know about this?
“Clara,” Luke started, not facing her as they stopped at a secluded area of the trees. “You trust me. Right?”
A million thoughts came rushing through her brain. She wanted to say 'no'. But that could be bad... She could charmspeak him into taking her back? No... (Y/N) would get mad.
“...” Clara stayed silent.
“You do trust me, right Clara?” Luke repeated, now fully stopping in the middle of the area, but still not facing her.
Clara gulped. “Where's this conversation going?” She stuttered out, slightly backing away from his reach.
“Just answer me. C'mon, (Y/N) would answer me.” Luke said, adding on (Y/N)'s name—he's said her name before; but he said it like a slur this time.
What does he want?
“..Not really..” Clara said, gripping onto her camp necklace; with 3 beads, one purple, one red and a yellow one as well.
Luke let out a low noise, Clara couldn't tell if it was a hiss or a laugh. “But your okay with me dating your sister, right?” He asked.
“I guess... It makes her happy..”
“Mhm.” Luke hummed.
“Luke.” Clara asked. “Why'd you bring me here?”
“I have to send a message, of course.” Luke replied, finally turning slightly to face her. “And your the easy target. Weak yet well known. You'll get attention.”
Clara's gut feeling was right—he was dangerous. And if the moon light struck on his features right at that moment, Clara would notice a sharp blade in his hand, Backbiter.
Clara started to back up, still holding onto her necklace, silently begging for help as he walked forward towards her.
“Sorry, Clara. But I need to do this.”
He raised up his blade; ready to strike down the daughter of love, before she heard rustling from the bushes and footsteps running.
SLASH!
The clunk of metal was loud, the sound of a blade falling signified Luke was disarmed. Clara opened her eyes—spotting the familiar strong figure of (Y/N) in front of her.
Backbiter was on the ground, (Y/N) held a protective stance in front of her sister, holding her own blade; which she referred to as “Celosia” (English derivation of ‘Burning’ or ‘Burned’ in Greek, which is kelos)
“Touch her again and I'll cut off your hand!” (Y/N) hissed, holding her balde tightly as she threatened Luke with it. Luke held up his hands in defence.
(Y/N) glanced back at Clara. “Oh praise Mother Rhea, are you alright?!” She said with wide eyes and a panicked expression. The pure concern for Clara was obvious.
(Y/N) held her sister's cheeks with her palms as she checked for any traces of harm on her. “I'm okay..” Clara managed to spit out.
You wouldn't believe the sigh of relief that escaped her lips when she heard her sister's words. “Good.. good.. Now run off and tell the others, tell Chiron. Tell them all..” She whispered as she sent Clara off.
Clara frantically nodded and ran as fast as he legs could take her, dashing past trees and hurdling over rocks.
(Y/N) the slowly turned her head towards back to Luke. A icy cold expression dawned on her face, her eyes showing no sign of love or compassion towards him like she did a few hours ago.
“What. The. FUCK. WAS THAT, LUKE?!”
(Y/N) screamed at him. She was seeing pure red, she looked like she wanted to gut and strangle Luke for laying a finger on her sister, Clara.
The brunet backed up—he had no weapon since Backbiter was laid limp behind her ankle. “Babe! Hi, umm...”
“Don't fucking call me 'babe', you lying, traitorous embarrassment!” (Y/N) hissed at him, her pupils dilating to near atom size.
“(Y/N), you need to hear me out—” Luke tried to excuse his behaviour with words—but could you really explain to your lover why you tried to murder their younger sibling?
According to (Y/N). The answer is; “I'm not going to fucking hear you out! You lied to me! You said you loved me! What kind of a boyfriend would kill their girlfriend's sister?!”
Luke really had no excuse. But he could come clean. “I had to, (Y/N). I had to send a message.”
“To who?!” (Y/N) yelled at him, hrr words growing bitter. Her eyes were misty, she wanted to sob, cry and beg him to tell her it wasn't true.
But she knew he would be lying then.
“You didn't really think I was loyal to the gods, did you? They abandoned us, (Y/N). When was the last time you talked with your mother?” Luke asked rhetorically.
“I don't fuckin' care about my mother right now, I care about why you tried to fucking hurt my sister!” (Y/N) snapped, her brows furrowed at his words.
“The Gods left us to die. Kronos wan—” Luke tried to start before getting cut off by his soon-to-be ex girlfriend.
“Kronos? Kronos?!” She screamed at him. “You've betrayed the camp, your family, the gods! You betrayed me, Luke!”
Luke averted his gaze away as she screamed and yelled at him. Threatening to kill him if he came back to camp. “Get out of here, Luke. before I run Celosia right into your heart.”
Luke's eyes widened at her threat, he would've killed her if she was someone else. “No, I can't leave you.”
“Then you'll die by my blade.”
As (Y/N) said this, she charged forward and attempted to slash at his ribcage. If Luke hadn't moved in time, he would've been in lots of pain.
Luke dodged the blade, falling forward and grabbing his own sword, Backbiter, off the ground. He raised it up and striked down at (Y/N)'s cheek as she was vulnerable from behind.
A gasp was heard, then a scream.
Pearls of blood dripped from her jaw, a gash on her jawline was now present. (Y/N)'s hand insictively went to her cheek, her hand now dyed crimson as the liquid leaked.
A scene flashed before Luke's eyes. Reminding him of this position he once was in—when he got his scar.
Luke couldn't show weakness. No no no, someone would take advantage of that. He simply looked down coldly at her. “The Golden Age is upon us, (Y/N). If only you could be apart of it...”
And with that—Luke Castellan disappeared into the night.
(Y/N) layed there, tears streaming down her cheeks as the blood leaked down her neck and slipped into her mouth. Sobbing over her lover's betrayal.
She heard footsteps. And the two familiar voices calling her name.
“(Y/N)?” That was Clara. Her younger sister.
“(Y/N)!” That was Silena. Her older sister by a few months.
(Y/N) called back with a cracked voice. “Here..!” She replied to their yells. The two ran over to their sister, Silena slid to her knees, holding (Y/N)'s bloody cheek with a worried expression.
“Clara told us everything..” Silena answered (Y/N) confused expression, how she wondered why them came. “Where's Luke?” She asked.
Another soft sob escaped from (Y/N). “He's... Luke has betrayed camp.. We're no longer safe here! He knows how camp works! He'll tell them all!”
Silena's eyes widened at her words. Clara nodded her head, before speaking; “Chiron's coming over.. He'll heal up that gash as best he can... Are..Are you okay?”
(Y/N) sniffed, before Silena wiped her tears out of her face, moving her hair away from her complexion. “Oh poor honey..” Silena hummed.
(Y/N) looked back at the ravenette, before bursting into tears. Sobbing into Silena's CHB shirt, making her orange shoulder red with her old blood.
“I hate him... I hate him, I swear!” (Y/N) spoke, but her words came out muffled and crokey from crying. “I want to go home..”
Silena nodded, helping (Y/N) up as Clara held her sister's hand tightly. “Thank you..” She whispered to (Y/N).
(Y/N) nodded at Clara before the Aphrodite trio walked back to camp, (Y/N) looking like a hot mess. A gash on her jaw (that'll will only heal into a scar), messy hair, and ruined mascara running down her face.
“I hate him..”

I don't like the Found Family trope.
There, did I get your attention? It's true, but the question is, why is Guardians of the Galaxy still one of my favorite stories in any medium ever?
Something really clicked for me with the ending of Vol. 3 (spoilers ahead, natch). The team broke up and that kind of development is usually heartbreaking, because we love the team, they love each other, now that they've found each other why should they ever part ways?
The answer is that they're a family, and that's what families do. Growing up means leaving the parents who raised you and finding a path of your own, maybe to someday continue the cycle with kids of your own, but never losing what you got from your first family. Those people, who you can't choose, will always be a part of you.
Each of the Guardians, aside from Drax, had their childhoods interrupted by traumatic events. They didn't get to finish growing up naturally, and that loss hounded them all their lives. When they found each other they began to heal, but here's what I didn't realize until the end of the trilogy: the family that they found with each other wasn't the kind that you make when you grow up. It's the kind that you grow out of.
From the beginning, Peter has shown signs of "Peter Pan Syndrome," acting like a little boy even though he's highly skilled, courageous, and compassionate. His maturity gradually began to show through, but one quirk that kept coming up was his refusal to return to Earth. No good reason for it except that he couldn't bear the reminder of his mother and he was ashamed to face his grandfather. He can handle it now because his life with the Guardians gave him the stability he needed to become a true adult.
Gamora's new incarnation doesn't need the Guardians because she found the Ravagers instead. We don't know much about them but I expect that what they did for Yondu, they'll do for her too. In the meantime, Nebula's had a few good years of being loved and now she can follow the footsteps of the Gamora who was lost, aside from falling for Peter, because that's unlikely to ever work again.
Groot's been the most fortunate, not having his youth cut short or taking any serious trauma since he sprouted. Eventually he may want to strike out on his own, but until then it's good that he can stick with Rocket.
Mantis seemed more aware than anyone of their internal struggles, including her own. Which is appropriate, her being an empath and all. She really made the boldest possible move, going it alone, and I'm proud of her. Hoping she'll make an appearance in The Marvels or something else before reuniting with Peter and/or the Guardians.
Drax is a special case and the one who I thought was most likely to die, since it seemed like his arc was all wrapped up: he had his childhood before we met him and it was his adulthood that was ripped away from him. Revenge was his entire deal and Ronan and Thanos are dead now, so what's left for Drax? Well, it turns out revenge doesn't have to be his entire deal and now I'm embarrassed I ever thought otherwise.
Rocket...oh, Rocket. We always knew that he was something other than what nature had intended, and that was on top of the nonstop physical and emotional abuse, but now it turns out he already lost the only three people who put anything good into his sad little life. Since there was nothing to salvage from his upbringing, he was the one who needed the Guardians the most, so he's the only founding member to stay. But no mistake, it matters that he's staying as the leader. He's not alone, but he's not under anyone's control, either. He knows who is now and he knows his worth.
The "don't call me a raccoon" running joke always bothered me a little but I never dreamed it would have a payoff like it did in Vol. 3. Rocket claiming his full name is much more than a nod to his comic origins. It's his understanding of where he began and the injustice that was done to him, his acceptance that he wasn't at fault for the deaths of his first companions and that he does deserve to be loved by the Guardians.
That's the foundation that lets everyone part ways without having to ask each other if this means their relationships are over. As far as I've seen, no other found family in fiction has reached this point - the team is generally the endgame, and if someone leaves, things will never be the same again.
In a real family, a good one, when someone leaves we celebrate. Congratulations on your first apartment. Good luck at college. Blessings on your union. Just remember, you can always come home again. Our arms are open for you.

I've realized that there's this specific type of found family that I adore where it's just this one extremely concerning kid going around doing all this dangerous and reckless stuff and just summoning all these parental figures to them who all end up so stressed out and going "Kid, kid no. Go get some sleep, take care of yourself. Please, I can't keep doing this. Please just stop."

Nature of the Human Soul (Book 1) Chapter Ten

Chapter Ten: Deals and Darling Overlords
Summary: After a disastrous meeting with Heaven, Alastor offers Charlie a solution to the extermination problem. (Y/N) meets a new overlord.
The portal to Heaven opened up again, and everyone looked at it expectantly. Charlie and Vaggie stepped through, one after the other. Instantly, everyone frowned. Charlie was refusing to look at Vaggie, and Vaggie looked uncomfortable and gazed at Charlie sorrowfully.
“What the fuck happened you two?” asked Angel, as tactless as ever.
“The, uh, meeting with Heaven didn’t go well,” said Vaggie quietly.
            “What?” said Husk, frowning.
Charlie crossed her arms, looking down. “The extermination is still coming, and Adam is coming for the hotel first.”
            “He’s what?” said (Y/N), blinking.
“And I just discovered I’ve been lied to,” said Charlie sadly.
            “Charlie—” Vaggie reached out.
“You should have told me!” said Charlie.
“Uh oh,” said Angel, looking between them.
“I wasn’t sure how to,” said Vaggie.
“You were an exorcist!” said Charlie. She turned away. “And you didn’t say anything to me.” She ran up the stairs before anything else could be said.
Vaggie looked down sadly before glancing up. She cringed as she felt the weight of everyone’s eyes on her.
“You were an exorcist?” said Husk, narrowing his eyes.
“I was,” admitted Vaggie. “But I…I stopped. I couldn’t hurt someone, and I was punished for it.” She touched her missing eye for a moment. “I don’t regret it, though. The exorcists…they’re in the wrong.” She looked at the group. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell anyone. I wasn’t sure how. But I swear, I’m here to protect you and help you. You’re my friends.”
            “…Okay.” (Y/N) nodded.
            “Okay?” repeated Vaggie.
“I believe you. I don’t think you’d still be here if you didn’t really believe in Charlie and the hotel,” said (Y/N). “So I believe that you know you were in the wrong as an exorcist.”
Husk shrugged and crossed his arms. “You’re intense and mean as fuck sometimes, but you’re not that bad.”
            “I agree!” said Pentious.
“I guess you’re fine, toots,” said Angel. “And who hasn’t done some bad stuff? We’re in Hell for a reason.”
Vaggie smiled slightly. She was still accepted.
“So, like, where are your wings?” Niffty went straight to her own curiosity.
Vaggie deadpanned. “Niffty, I don’t have—”
“Did you ever think maybe she’s sensitive about her lack of wings, just like her lack of tits?” snickered Angel. He was right back to making fun of Vaggie.
“Yeah. Where are your tits?” said Niffty, attempting to look down Vaggie’s shirt.
Vaggie sighed, back to being annoyed by everyone. “Any other questions?”
“I got one.” Husk had settled in a chair with a drink. “How come every time Charlie talks to Heaven we get in deeper and deeper shit?”
“It’s not her fault,” said Vaggie. “Angels are just—”
            “Jerks?” suggested (Y/N).
“—difficult,” said Vaggie. “But Charlie’s trying her best.”
“That’s turning out real well right now,” muttered Husk.
“And what is Miss Fearless Leader doing? Is she running away from the situation? Should we be doing that?” said Angel. “Or is it time for another ‘doomed-to-fail’ plan?”
“She’s coming up with something, I’m sure,” said Vaggie. She frowned. “In our room. Alone.”
No one noticed Alastor melt into the shadows.
“What could she possibly be coming up with this time?” said Husk. “The exorcists are coming sooner than ever. They’re coming for us. There is no way to fix this.”
“I’m sure there is,” said Vaggie. “We just haven’t found it yet.”
            “I have a question,” said (Y/N).
            “What?” said Angel.
“Does no one ever fight the angels?” they asked, twirling a vine around their finger.
“Angels can’t be harmed. They can give us our final deaths, and we can’t do shit to them,” said Angel, rolling his eyes.
(Y/N) frowned. “So we’re just supposed to sit here and die?”
“That’s what Heaven wants,” growled Husk.
            “That’s super shitty,” said (Y/N).
“Life is shitty,” said Angel. “And the afterlife.”
“At leassst our sssituation can’t get any worssse,” said Pentious.
On cue, a green light enveloped the entire hotel. Voodoo symbols glowed on the roof, and magical energy hummed in the air, ominous and foreboding.
“No, no!” shouted Vaggie worriedly, running upstairs towards her and Charlie’s room.
(Y/N) didn’t waste a second and ran up after her, determined to understand what was going on. They arrived at the hotel room a moment after Vaggie. The green light had subsided, and Alastor was walking out with a self-satisfied grin.
“Ah, (Y/N), perfect timing,” said Alastor. “You and I are running an errand with Charlie.”
“What happened in there?” asked (Y/N), frowning.
“Just a little deal-making,” said Alastor cheerfully. He tapped (Y/N)’s head with his cane lightly. “Now turn that frown upside-down. We’re never fully dressed without a smile, remember?”
“Right, right,” said (Y/N), putting on a smile.
“Good,” said Alastor, leading the way downstairs.
“What errand are we running?” asked (Y/N).
“Exorcists can be killed with angelic weapons,” said Alastor.
I knew there had to be a way to fight back, thought (Y/N).
“We need numbers to fight, so that’s what we’re going to get,” said Alastor. His grin widened and became genuine. “We’re visiting an old friend of mine.”
(Y/N) was about to ask if this friend would cause trouble like Mimzy, but Charlie’s voice cut through, first.
“We have a job to do.”
Alastor and (Y/N) turned to see Charlie emerging from her room.
She looked back at Vaggie. “You with us?” Charlie didn’t wait for an answer and turned away. “Are you ready, Alastor?”
“Of course,” said Alastor. “And (Y/N) is coming with us.” He neglected to mention he had decided they were.
“Let’s go,” said Charlie, nodding firmly.
It was time to start the preparations for one of the biggest fights of their afterlives.
l
(Y/N) glanced at the sign saying “Cannibal Town” as they walked with Charlie and Alastor in. They really shouldn’t be surprised, it was Hell, but they learned and saw new things every day in the afterlife.
Speaking of learning new things, (Y/N) was learning about Charlie’s current relationship issues as she rambled.
“Three years,” groaned Charlie. “Three years I’ve been sharing my life with her. And I tell her everything. My hopes, my dreams, my insecurities, my embarrassing habits. What fucking deodorant I like. And she keeps something like this from me. Why would she lie for so long? Does she think I wouldn’t accept her? What about me, me, says un-understanding…misunderstanding? Disunder—wait, where are we?”
“Cannibal Town!” said Alastor brightly. “There’s a friend of mine I think you two should meet.” He linked arms with Charlie and (Y/N) and escorted them towards an emporium.
“In Cannibal Town? But it’s…” Charlie looked around and watched everyone going about their day with more decorum than many other places in the Pride Ring. “It’s…surprisingly nice here.”
“I like how calm it is,” said (Y/N). Compared to so many other places, it really was nice.
“Isn’t it, though?” agreed Alastor. “And it’s all thanks to a very special someone.” He pushed the doors of the emporium open, and the three stepped inside.
“Well, who hasn’t thought about eating their first husband?” A charmingly dressed demon with skeletal features laughed lightly. “I certainly would have if he didn’t taste so bad!” She smiled at her customer. “I tell you what. You bring old tall, dark, and armless to me, and I’ll straighten them right out, okay, sweetie? Now, here’s my card, and—” She noticed Alastor. “Oh my stars. Do my eyes deceive me?” She smiled with genuine joy.
Alastor waved, and (Y/N) noticed that he seemed truly pleased to see her.
“Alastor? Alastor!” The woman ran up. “Where have you been?” She grabbed Alastor’s shoulders, and he smiled as she spun him around affectionately. “These halls really lost some of their sparkle without your lively presence and—” She noticed Charlie looking around. “Oh. Who’s this you brought with you? Come now, Alastor, she’s much to young for you,” she teased before laughing. “Oh, I’m just kidding. I know you’re an ace in the hole.”
“A what now?” said Alastor, completely clueless.
(Y/N) perked up. Alastor was asexual, like they were. That was…nice.
The demoness woman saw them behind Alastor, and her smile widened. “And you brought another friend? Alastor, you’ve been so sociable!” She grinned at (Y/N). “You’re adorable! Look at those roses—can I touch?” she asked.
            “Uh, sure?” said (Y/N).
The demoness gently traced a rose on (Y/N)’s head, and (Y/N) felt a smile appear on their face. She was soft and kind. “How sweet! Oh, I love roses.”
(Y/N) really liked her energy. She felt comfortable to be around, calm and warm.
“But where are your manners, Mister?” said the woman, putting her hands on her hips and looking at Alastor. “Introduce us, why don’t you?”
“Ah, yes, Charlie, (Y/N), this is Rosie,” announced Alastor. “The most darling, delightful, and dangerous Overlord this side of the pentagram!”
Rosie curtsied. “Oh, always such a charmer.”
“And, Rosie, it’s my pleasure to introduce you first to Princess Charlie Morningstar—” Alastor pushed her forward “—daughter of Lucifer and heir to the throne of Hell!”
“How do you do?” said Charlie nervously.
“Well, well, isn’t this a regal surprise?” said Rosie, smiling. “And what about the little rose demon?”
“This is (Y/N),” said Alastor. “My protégé.”
            “Hi,” said (Y/N), smiling.
“A protégé?” Rosie raised a brow, running through all of her thoughts and opinions on that before smiling. “How nice! Alastor needs to make more friends. Now, come in, come in.” She pulled (Y/N) and Charlie farther into the emporium. “Can I offer you something to eat? I’m sure I have a leg around here or something. Oh, what am I thinking, that’s too heavy. How about something lighter on the stomach? How about some nice pinky fingers?”
“Um, no, no. Thank you, though,” said Charlie, staring at the pinky fingers.
“I’m alright, thank you,” said (Y/N), smiling.
“Oh, look at you two, so polite!” Rosie patted (Y/N) and Charlie on the head. “Alastor, you could learn a thing or two.” She pulled (Y/N) and Charlie to a sitting room. “Well, sit down, sit down. Tell Auntie Rosie what she can do for you.” Charlie sat down like a client, but before any business, Rosie grinned at Alastor. “You know, Alastor, I got a primo connect on a guy with about eight blocks of territory and not enough goons to run it. Prime pickings for a deal to be made.”
“I appreciate the offer, but we’re here on business of another kind,” said Alastor, gesturing to Charlie.
“Well, don’t keep me in suspense,” said Rosie. She picked up her teacup. “I’m a very busy woman.”
“Well, as you know…” Charlie cleared her throat and broke down into panic. “The extermination is coming early. It’ll be here in a month. And they’re coming for my hotel and my friends first. And I-I-I—”
“We need your help,” said (Y/N).
“Your cannibals’ help, at least, to fend off the attack,” added Alastor.
“Wow, when you ask a favor, you don’t start small, do you, Your Highness?” said Rosie. Charlie’s face fell, and Rosie smiled comfortingly. “Oh, now, don’t fret. I didn’t say I wouldn’t help, but I assume there’s more to this plan than a bunch of unarmed cannibals.”
“Oh, your people will be far from helpless when we’re done with them,” said Alastor. His grin sharpened. “And by the end, they will be able to eat their fill.”
“Well, in that case, sure. Why not?” chirped Rosie.
            “Really?” said Charlie, eyes wide.
            “Thank you,” said (Y/N), smiling.
“What can I say? I like your moxie, girl, and you’re just so sweet, darling,” said Rosie, smiling at Charlie and (Y/N). She grinned at Alastor, and the genuine friendship between the two was palpable. “And old Alastor has never done me wrong before.”
“Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!” said Charlie.
“Yes, thanks,” agreed (Y/N), smiling. They might have a chance as long as they got the cannibals completely on their side and armed them.
(Y/N) had a chance to keep their family.

I love this webtoon
Tumblr media
You coul change the text with
"Jiwoo, watch your dad. He wants to show you something" and it would still make perfect sense. Such a dad thing to do, using a real life experience to teach his child something.
Except that Kartein was probably thinking "Jiwoo your teacher is showing off please look at him so that he can get over with this quickly and I won't have to heal him too much"
Also this is pure gold
Tumblr media
HE'S SO PETTY FOR ATTACKING THE GUY AND THEN SAYING THERE'S NO EVIDENCE HE'S ATTACKING HIM, HE TRULY LOVES HIS SON

nick and trubel, the ultimate father-daughter found family duo
i love the found family trope between all the grimm characters, but this adopted father-daughter duo is UNMATCHED and i wanna talk about it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
nick took her under his wing and let her stay with him and juliette because he KNEW what she was going through. when he first started seeing wesen, he had aunt marie and monroe to help him navigate it all. trubel had NOBODY. she watched a wesen kill her foster parents, and she was constantly getting attacked by these monsters that nobody else could see.
when she met nick, he showed her the trailer and the grimm books. he helped her realise she wasn’t going crazy, that he could see them too. i feel like it’s a parallel to aunt marie telling nick the truth when he first started seeing wesen - “… we can see them for what they really are” - telling him that he isn’t going crazy, that this is real.
marie also gives him the books and everything else in the trailer, all of which had been passed down generations of their family, and he lets trubel use them. i know that the others (hank, wu, etc) were also allowed to use them, but this was different. nick had known them for a long time before opening up to them about him being a grimm. him and trubel shared that ability, giving them an instant connection that didn’t exist between nick and anyone else.
Tumblr media
i also love how every time trubel comes back, there’s such a pure reunion between her and her dad nick. it really does feel like she’s his grown-up child who’s left the nest and is coming back to spend some family time killing wesen visit.
i’m so glad the producers didn’t push a romance plot between them, because their dynamic is a beautiful example of found family done right.

there’s something so comforting about early game dutch and hosea
i don’t know what it is. maybe it’s my own issues, or just the fact that the found family trope is one of my absolute favorite tropes in the world, but dutch and hosea are so father coded it makes me so happy
the fact that these two men found all these kids, adopted them into the group, raised them just because they needed family; it warms my heart so much
hosea is the comforting parent. you hurt yourself as a kid, something goes wrong in your life, you experience heartbreak for the first time…hosea is your shoulder to cry on. he comforts you, says all the right words to make you feel better. hosea offers quiet and soft words of affirmation, a warm embrace, and maybe a nice cup of tea (that he snuck a nip of spirits in)
dutch is the advice parent. the solution parent. you have an issue that needs solving, dutch is the one that gives you the guidance and direction. he helps you by telling you stories from his own life, and ultimately what he would do or wouldn’t do. he tries to push you in the right direction, but won’t stop you if he knows that there’s a lesson you need to learn the hard way.
both parents love you and want what’s best for you, and really strive for anything they can offer you (which isn’t much). they’ve always just wanted better for you than what they had.
i love early game dutch and hosea. i love them so much.
