Ngl Starkmonger gives me the same energy as FrostIron. Canonly, it wouldn’t ever actually work because Loki’s ego wouldn’t allow himself to really like humans, especially during the invasion of New York, and Tony probably wouldn’t want to date a mass murderer who tried to kill his coworkers and friends.

In the MCU, Erik wouldn’t date Tony because he’s a rich white guy who acts colourblind, and Tony wouldn’t date Erik because he killed his Rhodey and used him for his tech.

So I don’t get why everyone hates Starkmonger shippers who are just having fun, whether they tell the fluffy or the dark stories. It was one episode from a spin off series, people are gonna have new whacky ships from the series (like T’Challa & Nebula, no one would ship that if not for What If). There’s no harm in shipping any ship as like as it’s not illegal.

Both Erik & Tony are heavily flawed characters, that’s why shipping them is fun. Same with Loki and Tony considering all the blood on their hands.

Not every ship has to have some deep meaning behind it. Sometimes characters are just pleasing to watch together. Personally, I like Starkmonger & FrostIron. I think FrostIron has great potential for redemption, family and healing as well as delving into the gritty details of trauma and bad habits. Starkmonger has great potential for growth, trust and improving the future together, but it also has the chance to delve into ignorant racism, military brainwashing and painful angst of conflict.

Not every ship has to be flowers and sunshine. Fiction let’s us explore the painful feelings we keep buried, or how good characters fall from grace without ever knowing it until it’s too late.

Write the problematic ships in the good times and the bad. You have all the creative liberty, my friends, so use it to explore the dynamics.

people shipping tony and killmonger are so gross and it shows that you have never truly understood killmonger as a character. i am going to use another ship from what if as a example. nebula and t’challa, in their what if episode have chemistry, and yes this is a different universe so t’challa and nebula would’ve never happened in the main universe but a big chunk of their characters isn’t changed to make their relationship work.

killmonger on the other hand is literally the living embodiment of african americans struggle, and pain that minorities feel by living here it does not matter if “what if…” is a alternate universe, that is what killmonger is at his core. so it makes no sense to ship him with a rich white man who never takes responsibility for shit, it shows you have never understood killmongers character.

It really felt like he was thinking of Tony. I really don’t think Erik had planned on Tony finding out (yet?), they seemed to genuinely get along outside of Erik’s mission and he probably planned on keeping him around longer, it’s only because Tony found out he killed Rhodey, his best friend, he killed him (so soon at least).
