Yesterday we had to run some errands in town and we decided to eat lunch at a new Afghanistan restaurant.
The place was decorated very nice and not over done. Loved their glassware. Beautiful blue color with lots of texture and heavy. Silverware was thick and heavy too. Felt good in the hand.
On weekends they have a small buffet and you can also order off the menu. My husband decided on the buffet thinking it would give a good sampling of their food. Me knowing better I went along.
Going through the line a picked a small bit of everything. Took a slice of bread. I really could have left it behind. Perhaps just asked for a bit of my husband’s just to see what it tastes like. The bread was a flat bread. I thought it was a tad dry but the flavor was good. The dressing for the salad was to die for. Thick and creamy with a little zing. The rice was cook with little chunks of lamb. Seasoned well. Loved the eggplant and spinach dishes too. The two meat offerings was chicken and beef kabobs. Oh those kabobs!! Delish.
My big mistake was going for seconds. I should have left it alone. Was a tad overfull when we left.
My thought was to make a salad for dinner to make up for the large lunch but was not hungry enough to do that.
Will definitely eat there again but stay away from the buffet!

What is your take on people commenting on idols bodies saying they’re “too thin”? The two arguments being it’s body shaming and the other being that it’s being said out of concern.
Asking not to cause drama but bc it’s a problem I’ve noticed coming up a lot on twt and ig and I’m conflicted about which camp I fall into or if I’m somewhere in between.
it's something i try not to talk about, honestly, bc it's not my business what people's bodies look like 🤔
(cut so folks who don't wanna read about weight/size can avoid)
thinness is highly valued pretty much across the globe, but in korea (in my experience, as a firmly mid-sized person living there) it's so ubiquitous that it's unavoidable. yes, folks of all sizes live there. of course!
but to use my own body and my lived experience as an example for you, on my last work staff we had about a dozen korean women alongside us foreigners. they were all thinner than me, and none were larger than maybe a US size 6 (and probably only bc of their height, at that point).
so like. idols really really are all size 0-4, like 48-55kg. really and genuinely. twice jeongyeon looks a lot bigger than the members, but she is still smaller than me.
i'm not saying any of these people (idols, old coworkers, korean folks in general, myself) are good or bad or healthy or unhealthy, bc again, it's really not my business.
i've spent enough years doing undieting and health at every size work to know that it's essentially impossible to judge people fairly from the outside. i do notice all the behaviors that i think are detrimental to their mental health, and i really personally dislike seeing idols brag about how little/clean/organic/whatever they eat or how much they're changing their body for different things (hello, comeback season diets!).
but i can also see how many idols naturally have smaller bodies (than i do, at least - like, i will never ever be built like bp lisa, no matter what i do, bc that's just not my body type). i can see how much easier it is for them to be thin, either to avoid social scrutiny or to appear a certain way onstage or to suit certain niche parts of their job (like, a lot of idols' clothes are gifted by brands and often they come in...one very small size, so if they don't fit, tough shit).
i would prefer they didn't pass out onstage or go days without water so their abs show more completely in mv shoots or avoid eating on camera bc they don't want to be shamed. i would very much like if companies wouldn't push young vulnerable people to be a certain size to the detriment of their bodies.
i'll always worry about my faves and if they're getting enough sleep and enough to eat and if they're doing alright, body-image wise. i'll always get excited when i see boy idols who don't force themselves to keep washboard abs (taeil 🥰) or girl idols who are just plain bigger than average (nmixx jiwoo and her fuckin incredible muscles! jeongyeon lately!)
but i'll never know for Certain why or how or for whom an idol is looking how they look, though, so is it really my job to jump into the comment section and decide for myself?
cuz as much as i might worry, it's still...none of my business.

Quick question before I go: anyone else comfortably eat a large pepperoni pizza over the course of a night to themselves?
Because it has dawned on me that perhaps (just perhaps) models, actresses, other fitness professionals are being slightly more discerning with how many carbohydrates they’re ingesting in their daily diet. I know that when I cut carbs my abs are more defined, my arms are more slender and my jawline is more defined. But is it worth it?
Starlets, influencers and your run of the mill hot people are typically following a meal plan that keeps their physique lean. A calorie deficit is a tried and true way to lose weight and keep it off. I get it. I’m a personal trainer. I took the test. I got a 95% just so ya knowwww. I just don’t subscribe to it. I don’t have to be skinny if I don’t want to be. I want to be a thick and juicy personal trainer with a big ole’ booty and thick thighs. I just also want abs and therein lies the problem.
Back in the day, I used to limit the carbs I ate. Those were sad times I was living in a world of denial. Denying myself my favorite food. Denying my impulse to eat. Denying how hungry I was all the time. I don’t want to be that bitch.
Carbs are my favorite food. BREADPOTATORICEPASTA GANG, BITCH.
I won’t deny myself. I will enjoy this life and eat good in the neighborhood. I will nourish myself with vegetables and carbohydrates. I’ll eat less cheese though since all that gives me is gas and acne and just typing it here has shamed me enough to cut it out completely.
Update: I ate ice cream an hour ago and it was worth it.

Yesterday I got on the scale. In the beginning of the week I had decided not to get on the scale because I did not want it yo be my focus, but focus on clean eating, getting healthy. Curiosity got the better of me so on I stepped. I have to say I was surprised. I expected to be well over 200 pounds but was 193.2! It is still a lot for my body but it’s ok. Will get there.
Ate ok yesterday. Breakfast 3 scrambled eggs, pickled beets and a dollop of cottage cheese. Was pretty full so think I can back off of one egg going forward. Huge salad for lunch. Friday nights we do finger foods. I made mozzarella balls marinated in olive oil and sesame oil and lots of spices. We had cheese, carrots stick and hummus. Pickles and sliced uncured salami. I had a little of everything but did not overeat. Felt good about the day and my energy was up a bit.
