I’ve seen people talking about how Klaus is looking in the opposite direction in this picture, and as I was rewatching the series I noticed this picture in season one where (I think) Klaus is facing the other way….. I could be wrong but I think that’s either Klaus/Ben. Anyone find this intriguing???

Stealing
Warnings: cursing, stealing, mentions of child abandonment, mentions of killing, knives, let me know if I missed any :)
Request: Omg I loved your klaus and Kid fic. There’s not a lot of platonic umbrella academy fics so thank you so much! I was wondering if you could write something about like Klaus introducing kid reader to the family like maybe he goes to his dads funeral with her. Thanks :)
(Sorry that this took so freaking long and that it’s not very good)
Request by: @ihatemyselfmorethanmydepression
Pairings: Klaus Hargreeves x child reader, Hargreeves siblings x child reader
*not my gif*
Summary: When he had to go back to his childhood home, Klaus brought you with him for only one reason, all he hoped was that his siblings didn’t see you
A/N: I know that Vanya’s in this fic, but SOO excited for Viktor
Please don’t plagiarize my work, you may reblog if you like but I’m asking that you don’t steal my hard work
Tumblr media
“Okay, remember the plan?” Klaus asked, bending down to your height and rubbing his hands together.
You nodded slightly, looking up nervously at the huge, prison like building in front of you, “Take anything that looks valuable enough.” You repeated what he had told you earlier.
“Good.” He ruffled your hair, “And step two, if possible-“
“Avoid your family because they are a bunch of assholes.” You cut him off, again repeating what he had told you.
“Hey.” He scolded, lightly swatting your arm, “I told you not to repeat that word.”
You rolled your eyes, “Well then you shouldn’t say it in front of my young ears.” The mocking tone in your voice was not hard for the man to decipher.
He huffed, ignoring your comment, and gently took your arm and began dragging you up the stairs of his childhood home, “Hopefully nobody got here yet.” He muttered mostly to himself, but you still heard.
It made you sad to see that Klaus didn’t want to see his family after all these years.
Though he never told you details about what had happened, you knew that he and his six siblings didn’t end on very good terms.
You had always envied how Klaus had so many siblings when all you had wanted in life was just to have one. Somebody to talk to before your parents left you. After that even would’ve been nice.
It always made you sad that he didn’t take advantage of having all those siblings. Seeing them whenever he could. Keeping in touch. Reaching out.
He had told you a little bit about them when he first found you all by yourself in a park a couple years ago, back when he first took you in as his own.
You reached up and took his large hand in your small one, giving him the best reassuring smile that your six year old body could grant.
He looked down at you, smiling tightly before squeezing your hand gently and leading you up the rest of the stairs and through the large door.
“Master Klaus.” A voice called out through the halls, making said man freeze in his steps.
You, who was behind Klaus’s legs, peaked out to see who was talking to the man, only to see a monkey in human clothes with a cane.
Your eyes widened as the monkey looked at you curiously, “And who would this be, young master?” He asked.
Klaus’s eyebrows furrowed and he looked off to the side where Ben was, not that either you or the monkey knew that he was there, and sent him a questioning look, wondering how the monkey had seen Ben.
The ghost facepalmed and gestured to you, still behind Klaus.
Klaus looked back, “Oh… Oh!” He gently pushed you out from behind him, “This is Y/n!”
You gave a shy wave and the monkey returned with one of his own and a kind smile, “I never took you as the fatherly type, Master Klaus.”
Klaus’s eyes widened, “Oh no, this isn’t my child. Well technically it is my child, but not my flesh and blood.” He rambled.
“I am Pogo, young one.” The monkey greeted kindly, ignoring Klaus’s weird little speech.
“Hi, Pogo.” You said back.
Pogo looked up at Klaus, “I’m sure your siblings will be thrilled that you’re here.” With that he turned and began making his way out of the hall.
You took a moment to look around where you were, not really having been able to do it before because you were too distracted by the talking monkey in the middle of the room.
But you also couldn’t necessarily say that you were surprised about it, Klaus had told you that his family had powers, as well as himself.
The hall you were in was massive with a tall ceiling and sort of menacing and dark decorations. All in all, the room was very intimidating to your six year old self.
You had to jog slightly to catch up with Klaus once you snapped out of your little daze, the man already being about ten of his paces ahead, making a beeline for the stairs.
Halfway up the staircase, you were doubled over with your hands on your knees, huffing and puffing.
Klaus glanced back at you from almost the top already, “Here, we’ll split up to cover more ground. Remember the plan!”
You watched with a huff- of annoyance this time- as he took off to the left at the top of the staircase, before forcing yourself to track up the rest and go to the right.
As you walked, you mumbled bad words to yourself that you heard Klaus say whenever he was upset about something, and continued down the long hallway.
Most of the doors were firmly closed, and locked as you figured out whenever you tried to open them, but there was one door at the end of the hall that was open.
Curiously, you walked in and your eyes widened in wonder and amazement.
The room was filled to the brim with valuables, ranging from expensive looking watches to a couple art pieces that had to have been at least a couple hundred of years old.
You bit your lip, glancing from side to side nervously, having a mental debate with yourself on what you should do.
From all the children's tv shows and movies you watched, they all talked about how stealing was bad. But you wanted Klaus to be proud of you, you didn’t want him to leave you like your parents did, because you didn’t do what he asked.
Finally coming to a decision, you nervously and hastily rushed over to where it was sitting and shoved it into your sweatshirt pocket.
“What the-“
The sudden voice made you jump at least a foot in the air and whip around in alarm, ready to spew out any excuse that you could come up with for the unfamiliar sounding person.
In the doorway stood a confused looking man holding a knife, the sight of the weapon making you let out a little yelp and duck down right away.
“Uhh…” The man had dropped his hand that was tightly gripping the weapon, but didn’t relax his defensive stance, “What the hell is going on in here?”
Immediately, you took the watch out of your pocket and threw it down, back onto the dresser that you had picked it up off of.
While he was still too shocked to do anything, you ran as fast as your little legs would carry you, and shoved past him with surprising force and hurled yourself back down the hall you came from.
It only took him a couple of seconds to recover from his shock before he quickly rushed after you, the sound of pounding feet filled the house as he did so.
You rushed down the stairs, trying not to stumble over your feet before running into the first room that you saw, which just two happened to be a living room.
As soon as you entered, your fight or flight instincts took over and you immediately ran to a close cabinet and began climbing, knowing that the furniture could hold your small frame but not the man’s large one.
From the top of the brown cabinet you watched as he skidded to a stop in the room, eyes narrowing as he scanned the room for any sight of you.
You silently let out another bad word that Klaus had said in front of you as the board beneath you creaked a little, giving away your location.
The man’s head whipped up so fast he should’ve gotten whiplash, but before he could get a good look at you, a glass bottle came flying down towards his face, and this time it was his turn to let out a little yelp and duck.
There were multiple glass bottles up near where you were, so you had decided to use them to your advantage.
After the glass shattered along the floor, he barely had time to stand up before another one was being hurled at his head.
You kept dropping one after the other, never letting the man think long enough to recover himself.
The sound of glass shattering was so loud that you and the man both hadn’t heard the stamped like footsteps rushing into the room until a voice silenced all else.
“What the hell is going on here, Diego?” Allison stood with her hands on her hips, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
Behind her stood a timid looking Vanya, an awkward looking Luther, and a distracted Klaus.
You had paused, midway throwing another off, as did the man named Diego, crouched down with his hands over his head.
The name Diego ran a bell somewhere deep inside your head and it took you a minute to realize how you knew the name. Diego Hargreeves. Kalus’s brother. And the other people must've been his siblings that were still alive.
When he saw the others, he jumped up and immediately started rambling, “I heard a noise coming from inside a room so I tried to investigate, and I found a kid stealing one of dad's old watches! They took off before I could talk to them!”
This caught Klaus’s attention, who had been looking around the room in boredom, and for the first time his eyes landed on you, slowly realizing what was going on.
Once he did, he hurriedly rushed over to the cabinet that you were on and stuck his arms out, “Come on, n/n. Just get down from there, it’s not safe.” Those who didn’t know the man wouldn’t have caught the slight desperation in your tone.
After eyeing Diego warily, you slowly gave in and jumped down into Klaus’s ready and waiting arms.
The rest of his siblings watched in confusion as you let Klaus gently set you on the ground before slightly moving behind his legs.
“Klaus… how do you know this child?” Luther asked, looking down at you in shock.
“And why the hell were they stealing?” Diego asked, and then eyed Klaus, “Did you hire a kid to do your stealing for you?”
Everyone ignored him as Klaus clapped his hands together, “Everybody, seeing as you’re all here I guess I’ll just introduce all of you. This is Y/n.” You gave a small wave from behind the man, which only Vanya returned, “I suppose they’re kinda like my adopted kid or something.”
Luther began looking at his brother like he grew three more heads, “You do know that kidnapping a child isn’t considered adoption, right?”
You let out a small huff, a little offended that he would think that you would just let yourself get kidnapped, “He didn’t kidnap me.” Everyone’s attention turned to you, “He took me in when mommy and daddy left me.” Suddenly all of your confidence was gone and you found yourself becoming shy again.
Slowly, on their own time, everybody came to an understanding about what you meant, and each reacted in their own ways.
Allison looked at you with pity, Diego’s eyes widened in surprise and he looked over at his brother, Luther let out a small ‘wow’, and Vanya slowly came over to you, as if to try and not frighten you.
She bent down to your height with a small smile and a wave, “Hi there, Y/n. I’m Vanya, it’s very nice to meet you.”
Klaus looked over at the two of you, letting a smile grow on his face. He never would’ve admitted it, but he had always wanted to see what it would be like for his siblings to meet you.
And so far he wasn’t disappointed with the outcome. Especially since you almost killed Diego.

Hey, can I get shipped with an Umbrella Academy character? Im queer so any gender is fine.
Im an INFP and a quintuple Gemini. Im a huge nerd, I love Dnd, Doctor Who, Marvel and all of that type of thing. My friends describe me as passionate and funny, I try my best to be their rock and I love very intensely. I think I would genuinely do anything for my friends. Being there for the people I love is very important to me.
Im 5’7 and chubby, I’m pale with brown hair, hazel eyes and freckles. My style ranges from “emo” to super girly, I wear whatever I want depending on my mood that day.

“Uh guys,” Klaus said. “We might have another problem!”
“Ah, shit,” Five said. You follow after him, peeking over his shoulder.
“Who are they?”
“One’s the Handler, and the other is Diego’s girlfriend.”
“Lila, my ex-girlfriend,” Diego corrects.
“You know what? Doesn’t matter. They both look angry,” Luther observed.
“Yeah, well, your brother has that effect on people,” You snort.
Five kicks you in the shin for that. You let out a yelp and glare at him. He grins to himself before walking forward, “All right, I’m gonna go find out what they want. You guys stay here with Vanya and the kid.”
“I’m coming with you, too. Come on,” Diego said, stepping out with Five.
“Me too,” You chimed in, offering Five a small smile. The boy just rolls his eyes at you.
“You just have to follow me everywhere, don’t you?”
“Yup.”
The three of you stop in front of the Handler and Lila, nothing that they were both very unhappy. Except, Lila’s anger was directed more towards Five and not her ex.
“I love the smell of country air, don’t you, darling?” The Handler asked.
“Makes me wanna vomit,” Lilia deadpanned.
Five glances between the two. “What do you want?”
“To watch you suffer,” Lila replied.
You shrug. “Well, don’t we all.”
“What about me?” Diego asked.
“You’re not even worth my wrath.”
You raise your eyebrows at him. “Ouch, downgraded there, buddy.”
“Can you just shut up?” Five sneered, looking at you.
“Not with your dumbass around.”
“Easy, we’re here on official business,” The Handler broke in.
Five turns back to her. “And what business is that?”
“As the head of the commission, I’ve decided to eliminate the criminals responsible for the assassination of the former board of directions.”
“Yeah, right,” Diego scoffs. “We didn’t kill the board.”
“Well,” You said, dragging out the L.
“Uh, actually, Diego. That’s not entirely accurate,” Five mumbled, hands in his pockets.
The Handler tilts her head. “You didn’t tell them?”
“What the hell did you two do?” Diego demanded.
“What we had to go to get our family home,” Five said. “Until someone reneged on our deal.”
“Somebody wouldn’t have reneged on the deal if someone could’ve met a simple deadline. Alas.”
“You set us up to fail!”
“You set yourselves up to fail, friend — you and your brothers and sisters. Kind of the running theme of your little life, isn’t it?” The Handler chuckled.
Diego turns to Five with a shake of his head. “Dude, I can’t believe you killed the board of directions. You have no idea how messed up the commission is right now.”
“Messed up? Who’s saying that?”
“Everybody — Christ, even the janitors think it’s going to shit.”
“That’s not all he killed,” Lila suddenly spoke.
“What are you talking about?” Five snapped.
“Don’t play dumb, you prepubescent piece of shit.”
You scoff at her. “Okay, crazy lady, why don’t you shut your mouth? Only I get to talk to him like that.”
Five raises his eyebrows at you. He’s not sure if he should be offended or flattered by what you said. Though, he goes with offended because it came out of your mouth, and anything you say is stupid.
Like your stupid face. He hates it. That stupid smile that makes his heart skip a beat and your stupid little half-grin you always give him and only him.
It was disgusting.
For sure.
“Enough. The point is, all of you are going to die today. Hm?” The Handler cut you off.
“Oh,” Diego clicks his tongue. “Well, I don’t like your chances — seven of us, two of you.”
“You know, you’re right. Let’s change that.” The Handler snaps her fingers, and thousands of people blink into view. All of them carry briefcases and guns.
You let out a low breath. “Well, shit.”
“So, what do we do now?”
“Well, we got two choices: Fight and die now or run and die later. Either way, we’re food for worms,” Five said, rolling his shoulders.
“What’ll it be, boys?”
“Wouldn’t mind a few more minutes breathing air through the old windbags.”
“All right. Let’s get this over with, shall we?” The Handler grins, raising a red handkerchief.
“Run!” Five shouts, grabbing your arm and taking you with him.
Diego ducks, using his hands to cover his head. “We’re not gonna make it!”
Five huffs, grabbing Diego’s wrist and suddenly blinking you closer to the barn.
Diego groans. “Five, I think I’m gonna puke.”
“Diego, you puke, and I’ll puke,” You replied, flinching as bullets bounced off the tractor you’d hidden behind.
“What now?” Five questioned, peeking out from behind and ducking as bullets whiz past him.
“We blink into the house?” You suggested, gesturing towards the building with your hands.
Five narrows his eyes at you before grabbing you and Diego and trying to blink you away. His fists turn blue, but nothing happens, just warbling. “Shit, I’m out of fuel. I’m too tired.”
“Go! I’ll… I’ll cover for you two,” Diego said, standing up.
“What?” You shake your head. “Diego—”
But he’s already stepped out, stopping all the bullets and holding them there. “Go!”
Five doesn’t have to be told twice. He grabs your wrist and makes a dash for the building. Once inside, he shoves you under the table following after.
“A little harsh, don’t you think?”
“I just saved your life, dipshit.”
“Didn’t ask you to.”
Five just clicks his tongue. “Well, too bad. You’re welcome to step out and get shot.”
There’s silence, and you frown at Five. “Why do you hate me?”
“I—”
Before Five can answer, a high-pitched ringing sound is heard, and he puts his arm around you.
“What are you doing?” You shout over the noise.
But in seconds, the house begins to shake, and debris falls from the roof as Five covers you with his body. Which was odd considering his earlier comments. A loud crash is heard, and Luther hits the ground with a thud.
Five lets go of you, scrambling from under the table and going towards his brother. “Luther, you all right?”
“Oh, I think I swallowed my tongue,” he moans, rolling over.
Five rolls his eyes. “Luther, if you swallowed your tongue, you wouldn’t be talking, you big moron.”
“That and you’d be choking,” You added, standing beside Five.
He lends a hand to Luther, hauling him up to his feet. “Come on, on your feet.”
Luther groans with the effort but steadies himself. “Hey, what the hell happened? What was that?”
“She must’ve redirected Vanya’s energy wave.”
“Yeah, I know, but how?”
Something cracks above you, and you feel yourself harshly shoved to the side, knocking against the wall as the bricks from the fireplace crash down onto Five.
“Watch out!”
“Five!” You scream, but then Lila enters the room, and you decide to remain tucked in the corner. Five was fine, probably.
Not like you cared… at least, you tried not to.
“What are you?” Luther asked.
Lila cracks her neck. “Someone who wants to kill your brother.”
“Well, that’s understandable. Diego can be a lot to handle.”
“Yeah, I was talking about Five.”
You roll your eyes at their exchange. Who did this lady think she was?
“Him, too,” Luther pauses, “but unfortunately, they’re family, so you’re shit out of luck.”
He swings a punch at her, but she catches it, causing his eyes to go wide.
“How is this possible?”
“Gotta believe in yourself, big boy,” Lila taunts before throwing him out the opposite wall. She follows after him, and you take your chance to get towards Five.
You pull at the bricks, trying not to panic when there’s no sound. “C’mon, Five,” You mumble. Suddenly a hand springs out, grabbing yours, and you yank the boy hard.
He lands on top of you, blood dripping from his head, but otherwise, very much alive. You sigh in relief, blinking harshly.
“Are you okay?” You asked softly as he rolls off of you.
He nods, looking anywhere but you. “I’m fine.”
You frown at his curt reply, but that was Five. What more was there to expect? He made it very clear he didn’t like you.
Something shuffles behind you, and you turn your head to see Lila again.
Five stands up, bringing you with him. “Looking for me?” He asks.
“Five—,” You start. He just looks at you, eyes pleading, and for some reason, you listen. Lila’s eyes flicker towards you, but before anything else happens, Five blinks in front of her.
“Don’t look at her. Look at me,” He said. “You wanna fight? Let’s fight.”
Both disappear in a flash of blue, leaving you alone in the wrecked house. You step through the hole in the wall, looking for the other siblings to see if you can be of help. You rush over to the group of them, lifting a tractor off of Diego.
“Yeah, but she can only mirror one of our powers at a time,” Klaus said with a raised finger.
“Who, Lila?” You asked.
Allison nods. “You sure about that?”
“Okay, I’m not sure about that, but she can only mirror it if we use it first, right? That’s confirmed.”
Everyone mumbles in agreement.
“So we just need to… not use our powers?”
“Maybe, and if we catch her like that, we can question her about her powers and stuff. Maybe she knows more about this than us.”
“Yeah, but first, we need to find her,” Diego said.
“She disappeared with Five,” You said, pointing towards the barn. “And I’m gonna assume those flashes of blue light are them.”
“Cause you’re one of us,” Diego spoke, stepping into the barn first. You follow with all his siblings, catching Five’s eye and moving towards him.
“What happened to you?” You asked.
He just scoffs. “Nothing I couldn’t handle.”
“Really? Cause you sure look like you had your ass handed to you.”
Five rolls his eyes. “Did you just come here to insult me?”
You shrug. “Why else?”
To check that you’re okay, to make sure you’re alive because I love you.
You miss the slight frown on Five’s lips after you said that.
“You don’t know me, Diego,” Lila spat, knife touching his chest.
Diego just smiles. “Don’t I? I know that we can be your family if you just let us.”
Lila glances around the room, and you offer her a small smile despite her antics to kill Five. Five gives her a tight-lipped smile, stepping closer to you and unknowingly brushing your shoulders together.
It happens in a split second. You heard the first gunshot, and you saw Allison fly to the floor. And yet, in slow motion, you can see the bullet heading for Five, and out of instinct, you shove him harshly to the ground before shortly following.
Pain floods your entire system as warm blood soaks your clothes. You turn your head to meet Five’s eyes as he lays next to you.
“Hey,” You breathed out before coughing up blood.
“You fucking idiot,” Five whispered, crawling towards you.
“I’m dying, and that’s all you can say?” You scoff, trying to cover the hurt. You didn’t know what to expect after saving his life, but it wasn’t that. But knowing he was alive was enough for you. Five was a hero, after all. You just hoped he knew a way to fix this.
Five just shakes his head, a hand brushing a piece of hair behind your ear. “No, I… there’s so much I want to tell you, but I can’t.”
You laugh. “You can’t, or you won’t?”
“I don’t know how.”
“You don’t know how to love?”
Five’s eyes turn glassy as he nods. “I’ve been alone for so long… I’m sorry, (Y/N). I’m so sorry. I never hated you. I always—”
“It’s okay, Five,” You cut him off, coughing harshly again as more bullets are heard. Five doesn’t look up to see Lila crumble to the floor.
“You’re crying,” You mumbled, hand finding his. There’s comfort in it, knowing that as you’re dying, Five’s comforting you. He’s holding you. That’s all you really ever wanted.
“I know,” Five admits. “Why would you do that?”
“Because I love you, even if you’re not ready to love me back.”
More tears slip down Five’s face, and he brushes them off your paling cheeks. He doesn’t know what to do. Your breath keeps getting shallower, your eyes don’t stay open anymore, and you just sound like you’re in pain. He wants to tell you everything. He never hated you. He just didn’t know how to love you. Maybe he didn’t want to in case this happened.
He was used to solitude, and he was sure he liked it until he met you.
He needed you.
Five opens his mouth to tell you he’s ready when someone else speaks.
“Oh, good. You’re still alive. Lucky you, you get to see how this all played out.”
The Handler raises her gun at Five, but before anything happens, she’s shot down by Axel. She falls limp by Five’s side, and he turns back towards you.
“(Y/N),” he starts before he realizes you're gone.
He falls back in horror, realizing he never got to tell you he loves you too.
Memories flood his brain, clouding his visions, and he can hear you laughing in some of them, smiling at him, caring for him when he never did the same. You didn’t deserve that. He always knew he loved you, but showing it was so much harder than he expected. But in the thirty seconds, you’ve been gone, Five realizes he has to push that to the side. He misses you, his family, and his future.
“Start small. Seconds, not decades.”
Five offers one more look at you and realizes what he has to do. His hands turn blue as he begins to reverse the last minute.
It’s like déjà vu, but as predicted, the Handler walks in, and Five snatches the gun from her. He points it at her and she raises her hand in defeat.
“It’s true, isn’t it? What Five said,” Lila shouted. “Answer me, is it true?”
“Well,” The Handler starts before being shot down.
Your eyes widen at the sight of blood dripping from her mouth, looking towards Five dropping his gun.
Lila runs towards the briefcase, followed by Luther and Diego.
Five, however, speaks to the Swede. “Enough.”
The man echoes it back and leaves.
As soon as he’s gone, it’s like time starts again as the siblings begin to talk. Diego and Luther already arguing, but Five just rushes towards you.
You’re startled when he hugs you tightly, one arm around your waist and the other on the back of your head.
“Five?” You ask.
He shakes his head. “I’m ready.”
“Ready for what?” You ask with a chuckle.
Five swears he's never heard anything better than that. He takes a while with his response, eyes tracing your face and taking in all your beauty.
“Ready to love you.”
Your eyes widen at his statement, but he just cups your face tenderly and kisses you. You melt into his arms, falling into them easily. His thumb rubs small circles on your cheeks before pulling back and resting his forehead on yours.
“Why the sudden change? Thought you hated me.”
Five just smiles. “I never hated you.”
“I never hated you either.”
“I know,” Five said smugly. “You were pretty obvious about it.”
You narrow your eyes at him. “Thin ice, Five.”
He just kisses you again. “Love you, sorry.”
“Mhmm.”

Dancing At A Funeral
Tumblr media
Pairing: Ben Hargreeves x Gender-Neutral!Reader Summary: (Y/N) reminisced some of their memories with Ben during his funeral. Requested: Yes / No Word count: 2.592 Posted: 23.06.2022 Warning(s): Ben’s death, fluff, grief, mentions of blood, season two spoilers, unedited imagine Song inspiration: Good Grief - Bastille A/N: I wrote this imagine way back in 2020, after finishing Season 2, so it’s been sitting in my drafts for way too long and just posting it to celebrate Season 3. Yay! It’s too long, I know, but I hope you still like it. Also, should I keep this with Vanya or should I change to Viktor now? The happening dates back to Season 1, so I am not sure. Feedbacks are always appreciated, because my writing is very rusty. Help your girl to improve, please! Also, English is not my first language, so mistakes can be found. I’m sorry and thank you! - G. x Take note: (Y/N) and the Hargreeves siblings were twenty-one years old during the funeral.
It was one gloomy afternoon for six loving young adults: five of them were his extraordinary siblings and the remaining one was you, his beloved best friend.
The group was still shaken up for the heartbreaking news, but all of you managed to suppress the overflowing emotions by putting up your best poker face whilst you formed two neat semi-circles on both sides of his snow-covered casket.
“Why don’t you ever talk to your siblings about your feelings? Look at you right now: messy and all over the place.” You questioned while you pulled him in a gentle and comforting embrace.
“Emotions aren’t welcomed nor appreciated in the Hargreeves’ household, (Y/N). We’re all messed up, my siblings are just stronger than me.” He calmly informed you, lingering the warmth and comfort that your body emitted.
Ben Hargreeves - the sweetest and the most caring person that you have ever met in your life. He was loyal and understanding, an extraordinary person, abilities and character-wise.
“(Y/N), is everything all right?” Vanya derailed your train of thoughts, noticing how fixated your eyes were on your best friend’s picture - he seemed so happy and light-hearted.
“Yes. Thank you, Vanya!” You forcefully smiled, glancing at her with your slightly watery eyes. You were glad that she was still concerned about you, even though you barely saw her when Ben was still alive.
The rest of the Hargreeves siblings gave you a solace stare soon after, silently letting you know that they had your back at all times. It was a cold and snowy day, but their kindness and sympathy were enough to warm your body and your miserable heart.
“Kudos to you for staying strong, (Y/N)!” Klaus proudly exclaimed, slightly making you smile for his kind remarks.
Klaus. Klaus was the most supportive Hargreeves ever. He was the contrary of Ben, who was introvert, silent and shy. Klaus was rather extrovert, dorky and talkative. In fact, when the former wasn’t in the mood of talking, he was more of a listener, the latter was your companion on sputtering nonsense.
You were very grateful of them, Ben and Klaus were surely the reason that you have met each other, that you have become friends.
“Hey, dear!” A boy about your age startled you as he approached you whilst you bit on you calorie bomb pastry. “I’m so sorry to scare you, but I want to inform you that you have a stalker over there.” He pointed a booth with six twelve year olds, wearing immaculate and familiar uniforms: The Umbrella Academy.
They were famous. Well, the daily news were always full of them, so it was impossible to not acknowledge them.
“Excuse me?” You confusedly corrugated your forehead as you put your dessert back on its plate. “Aren’t you part of that group?”
He hummed and nodded. “Yes, but do you see that little kid there: shiny jet black hair, cute almond eyes, so handsome?” He moved his hands as he sincerely described the boy. “He’s my brother and he’s been admiring you since we came in.”
“That’s creepy, but he’s cute.” You chuckled as you waved your hands towards the children’s direction and the concerned boy covered his face with his both hands out of embarrassment, watching you and his brother through his fingers.
That moment was the beginning of your friendship with the Hargreeves siblings and, as they snuck out of their house almost every night to meet you at Griddy’s Doughnuts, you slowly learnt everything about them: from how their superpowers functioned to how dysfunctional their family was.
Although you got along very well with all of them, it was needless to say that your relationship with Ben, Klaus and Vanya were stronger. They were the most vulnerable ones in the Academy and they were never afraid to open up to you.
The friendship was amazing and it quickly grew, but, as the years went by, you also started falling apart - less siblings came to your daily meet ups, until Ben and Klaus were the only ones left. It didn’t mean that you hated the other siblings, though, you were still very fond of them, you were just not as close as before.
“Your bed is so soft!” Klaus exhaustedly commented as he messily plopped himself on your bed. The three of you decided to change your location since the pastries at Griddy’s Doughnuts started making you feel nauseous. You surely have tasted everything in that diner!
“Bookworm!” Ben shrieked at the sight of your huge book collection - it was his comfort object, mostly after using his powers during a mission.
Your friendship was not rocket science at all: they found their comfort person and they were grateful to have you. You were their only best friend and they perfectly knew that they could count on you, and vice versa. They were your safe haven, the ones who kept you safe and warm, and you were their pole star, the one who guided them when they were feeling lost or overwhelmed of their powers and Dad’s rules.
The two teenagers enjoyed visiting you almost every night, sometimes both of them would knock on your window, most times it would just be Ben, but never only Klaus, until one day, that very specific day.
“(Y/N)!” A trembling Klaus entered your window, despair and sorrow behind his voice. “(Y/N)!”
He was shaken up and felt uneasy. You were almost sure that something bad has happened in the Academy. “Klaus, breathe. Settle down and we’ll talk about it.”
You gave him your water bottle, letting him catch his breath. “(Y/N).”
“Klaus, take your time.” You gently announced, calming him down as you rubbed his back. What could have possibly happened? Nothing really bad, you hoped.
You both remained in silence for a little while - Klaus defeated his breathlessness and you watched him as he halted his emotions from spilling.
“Are you ready?” You carefully asked, getting the empty water bottle from Klaus’ hand. He just nodded in response. “All right, slowly and calmly.”
He started trembling once again and you continued rubbing his back, letting him know that he was not alone. He hardly swallowed as he gathered his courage to tell you everything.
You started panicking by seeing his actions, but you were the fortress between the two of you, you couldn’t break nor fall. Not right now.
“Something in the mission went wrong,” He sadly started, staring straightly in your eyes. “and Ben is gone.”
A big lump in your throat suddenly formed and it was very hard to swallow. Your shoulders fell down like teardrops, salted water started streaming down your face and your world fell apart.
Your hand and knees started to shake, not knowing how to take the news in. “It’s not a good joke, Klaus. You are lying!” You blurted out, eyes started to sting badly.
Ben meant so much to you and he perfectly knew it. He couldn’t just come over and joke about Ben’s life, it was illegal.
“(Y/N), honey.” Klaus engulfed you in a comforting hug, calming you down as you started to messily sob against the crook of his neck. You were hurt and your chest was so tight, heart breaking in small smithereens - he was now the one who needed to stay strong, for the both of you. “Yes, I know, I know. Just let it out, don’t be afraid.”
Well, so much for being the fortress. You felt that you weren’t strong, not at all - the enemy has attacked you one time and you quickly fell, you quickly broke. Ben and Klaus were the ones who gave you strength, but one of them brought all of it with him, in his grave.
“(Y/N),” A deep voice quickly shooed your thoughts away: Sir Reginald Hargreeves. “would you like to say a few words?”
You were so busy in reminiscing that you didn’t notice Reginald, Grace and Pogo arriving. Those memories with Ben made you happy, but a huge horde of sadness washed you away once the old man brought you back to reality: Ben was still dead.
Reginald Hargreeves never liked you and it was strange that he didn’t throw a fit as soon as he saw you in one of his kids’ funeral - perhaps it was out of respect for Ben. He has always reputed you as a bad influence to his children, mostly to Ben, but the teenagers stood up for you uncountable times, breaking the rules just to see you and Ben happy and smiling.
“No, Sir Hargreeves. Thank you!” Your voice broke in the middle of the short sentence and the siblings hastily gave you a comforting look, nonetheless their distressed faces. They hated seeing you suffer, just as much as you all hated Reginald and that meant a really lot.
The old man nodded in response and, as soon as he started walking back inside his mansion, Grace and Pogo following soon after, the sobbing of the Academy members intensified, pouring their hearts out whilst tears uncontrollably streamed down their faces.
“It’s nobody’s fault!” Vanya strongly pointed out, trying to make her siblings feel better after the eulogy that you have just missed.
“How would you know, Vanya? You weren’t even on the mission.” Diego sputtered and your heart ached at Vanya’s failed attempt of consoling her siblings.
Vanya softly gasped, tightly holding her black umbrella before leaving the courtyard. She must have felt left out, again.
“Nice going, asshole!” Luther fiercely spat, defending Vanya - a thing that Ben usually did.
You faced the remaining siblings and they started arguing between them again, sending you back to remembering your memories of Ben, of how he would run to your house to avoid his siblings’ futile fight.
“Hey, can I stay for a little while with you?” He shyly asked, hoping you wouldn’t turn his request down.
“Are your siblings fighting again?” You empathically questioned him, putting down the book that you were reading on your desk.
“Unfortunately.” His shoulders dropped down, sadly looking in your eyes. It hurt him to see his siblings argue over everything.
You smiled at him and put a vinyl record on your player, Stand By Me, sung by Ben E. King, starting. “I dedicate this song to you, Benerino!”
He quickly smiled and hummed to the song, both of you proudly singing when the chorus would come.
“Thank you.” He quietly murmured in your ear after you pulled him into a heartwarming hug.
You missed him. You missed him so damn much.
“(Y/N),” Klaus softly called you, thread of thoughts cut once again. “shall we dance?”
You raised an eyebrow and the waterworks turned on once again: Vanya was playing Stand By Me with her violin and Klaus remembered how Ben would ask you to dance whenever his favourite song played.
“Gladly!” You grabbed Klaus’ hand, letting go of your umbrella, snow flakes quickly resting on your head and shoulders.
You and Klaus slowly danced around Ben’s coffin. It seemed like you two were celebrating that the Horror was gone, but you were just cherishing the memories you shared with his beloved brother.
“Dad’s not around anymore, you can let your tears fall freely.” Klaus reminded you, knowing how much you were trying to contain your emotions.
“I just miss him, Klaus,” You truthfully admitted. “I miss him so much.”
Klaus’ glance shifted from you to something behind you, but he still listened to your confession. “I am sure that he misses you, too.”
When the song finished, you asked the boy to leave you for a little while, wanting to talk to the unanimated Ben for a few minutes. He gladly respected you decision and he went towards the gazebo, eyes fixated on you, or maybe on the empty spot next to you. Your eyes were blurry because of the tears, so you couldn’t really figure it out.
“Hey, Benerino!” You sweetly chuckled as you caressed the photo on his casket, snow slowly melting because of your hand’s warmth. “You’re gone too soon, but I hope you feel better wherever you are right now, albeit I still think that it’s just unfair. What’s going to be left of the world, if you’re not in it, huh?”
The thought of not growing old with him destroyed you. You were perfect for each other, you had loads of amazing things with him, and you wished you had Klaus’ powers to conjure Ben up. You wanted to see him again.
“You’ll be now missing from the photographs in the mansion. You gave me another reason to stop coming in this hellhole.” You softly laughed.
God, how much you missed hearing his laugh after your horrible jokes and puns.
“I’ve always told you to take care, Hargreeves.” You frowned. “We’d be on my bed right now, laughing and cuddling to battle the cold whilst Klaus intoxicated us with his messily rolled joint.”
You hated it when Klaus was drugged, but it was the anaesthesia to his awful life.
“Ben, I am so sorry if I never had the courage to tell you this, but I love you so much. I love you more than anything in my life and it just hurts because you would never know anything about it and I would never know what you think about it.” You messily wiped your eyes with the back of your hand.
“(Y/N)!” A Ben Hargreeves covered in dried blood approached you as soon as he entered your window. Your eyes nearly popped out of their orbit at the sight of him and you rushed towards his direction, wanting to engulf him in a huge bear-hug. “Don’t!”
You feigned offence and raised an eyebrow. “All right, but, at least, tell me that none of it is yours.”
He quietly chuckled, softly shaking his head. “Don’t you worry about it.”
“Well, thank goodness!” You sighed in relief. “Let’s get you cleaned up.”
He refused at first, but he caved in soon after. He came up to the terms that he couldn’t hug you if he was covered in blood and vice versa.
“You know, I’m the one with superpowers here, but you are way more powerful than me.” He confessed as you both plopped yourselves on your bed.
“How could you even say that, dummy?” You wondered, looking at his perfect face.
His face turned serious. “You perfectly know how I feel about myself after a mission, after killing people,” Absolutely! He would be disgusted to the point of despising his powers and existence. “but just with the sight of your gleeful smile, I already feel better and stronger.”
Ben was able to make you smile widely, thinking that he was very sweet to say those words. Little did you know he has just  professed the feelings he had for you.
“Thank you so much for these nine years of friendship, Ben.” You shortly nodded. “You have been an awesome best friend.”
As soon as you finished, you called Klaus. He was looking on the spot next to you and you furrowed your eyebrows.
“Are you fine, Klaus?” You gently checked on the Séance, worrying about his sanity. “Are ghosts bothering you again?”
“Please don’t forget him.” He blurted out, ignoring your questions. Was Ben around you? Did he conjure him?
You shook your head to stop yourself from being delusional and answered Klaus. “How can I forget him? Every minute and every hour, I miss him, I miss him more.”

Would it be possible if you could do a one shot or gif imagine for Klaus Hargreeves where the reader is a dancer and she and Klaus grew closer when he was in rehab and he introduces her to his family when they need her help (her gift is being able to absorb others powers and use them for a short time, like Rogue from X-Men), and due to this she is friends with Ben. Five and Vanya immediately get along with her and the rest of them grow to like her, Luther takes the longest but ultimately they see that Klaus is happy and clean and healthy with her and they're one big happy family :)
Bless your heart 💛
Hi anon! Unfortunately I haven't watched TUA for a while and I don't think I could come up with a piece that might be to your liking. I'm sincerely sorry!
I hope you have an amazing day/night ✨🌻💛

all things considered
this was requested by an anon who wanted a vanya and a reader imagine! thanks for giving me the chance to try and write vanya! i hope this is to your liking! also my wifi is just not having any of it tonight so i’ll add an appropriate gif of vanya tomorrow or something! hope you enjoy this!
Today was supposed to be a very good day; you had woken up on the right side of the bed, managed to fix the best breakfast: scrambled eggs, bacons and a steaming cup of coffee for your best girl. Vanya had been surprised, not expecting you to actually remember her birthday – because she was just so used to sharing her birthday with the rest of her siblings. She had given you a very beautiful smile – one that still manages to cause your heart to race because God, how did you get so lucky with Vanya?
Breakfast went smoothly and Vanya had been somewhat flustered too, especially when you insist on bringing her breakfast to her in bed. The appreciative look she sent you made your heart flutter and you joined her on the bed, eating your toast and jam. “What are your plans today?” You ask her, words slightly muffled by the toast in your mouth.
Vanya chuckles under her breath as she sips her coffee; you always made the best coffee and it’s a little bit ironic because you prefer drinking everything but coffee. So, Vanya finds it sweet that you learned how to make coffee just for her. “I have two classes today and then a rehearsal.” She places the cup on the tray and turns to look at you, a smile appearing on her face as she sees how messy you are. Vanya reaches over to wipe the jam from your cheek, and you giggle as you share a look with her. “What are you going to do today?”
You almost choke on the bread you had been eating and you clear your throat. “Well, I have to go grocery shopping because that was our last batch of eggs and bacons.” You explain and Vanya nods her head. “Then I have the reading session in the local library.” Vanya smiles at you.
The rest of the morning was spent nicely; Vanya and you stayed in bed some more after she dragged you out of the bed to clean up the mess you left in the kitchen and to wash the dishes. The two of you talked and joked about a lot of things which was really nice on your part because you are convinced that Vanya forgot about her birthday.
Afternoon rolled in and Vanya left you with a kiss on your lips and one on your cheek. “Are you sure you don’t need my help?” She asks and you shake your head, walking her to the door. If this was any other person, you probably would have gotten mad, but this is Vanya, your sweet girlfriend. She looks at you and lifts a hand up to brush away the hair from your face. “See you later, alright?”
You grin and nod your head, giving your girlfriend one more hug before ushering her out of the apartment. As soon as Vanya’s out of the apartment, you rush to your bedroom, throwing on some decent clothes – you still need to get that grocery and a present for Vanya! – and pick up your wallet and your phone. After making sure you have everything with you – and that the bed is made – you left your apartment.
The rest of the day went by quickly: your afternoon was spent buying groceries – specifically the things you needed to make Vanya’s birthday cake! – and you even got her a present – a matching pair of sweaters – and by the time you came back to the apartment, it was around 5PM and Vanya’s rehearsal should end around 7 and it takes her half an hour to get to your apartment. So, you thought you had plenty of time.
But you thought wrong.
You didn’t take into account the fact that you absolutely cannot bake to save a life and your burnt mess of a cake is now staring at you and you glance at the clock; you still have half an hour until Vanya comes back. “If I run to the bakery…” Your words trail off when you hear the sound of the door unlocking and your eyes widen as you look away from the cake to stare at the front door.
“Y/N, I’m home.” Vanya calls out as she walks in to the apartment, pausing abruptly when she sees the smoke. She immediately places down her own set of keys on the counter and closes the door behind her. “Did you burn something?”
You didn’t have time to even throw the burnt mess away because Vanya rounds the counter and walks in to the open kitchen. She pauses at the door and stares at the table and a small smile appeared on her face as she walks over to you. “Uh, hi, babe. Surprise?” You let out a sheepish laugh.
Vanya chuckles under her breath as she stares at the burnt cake and shakes her head, wrapping an arm around your waist. “Dare I ask what went wrong?” She looks at you and you give her a sheepish smile, shaking your head and Vanya chuckles, a smile spreading on her face and you almost felt happy until you are reminded by the fact that you burnt her birthday cake. “Alright, I won’t ask then but thank – thank you so much.” She squeezes you tighter and you smile at your girlfriend, leaning down to press a kiss on her lips.
“I’m sorry about your cake, Vanya but I got you a present and made dinner too. So, maybe we can go for desserts after dinner?” You ask her, pushing her hair away from her face and Vanya looks at you, contemplating your request before she nods her head.
“I would love that.”

Diego, five, klaus and vanya’s reactions when they walk in on their s/o changing?
Separately, ofc :)
hi!! hope you love it!!
warnings: nudity, five being a conspirator, klaus being lovely
HEADCANONS FOR THE SIBLINGS WALKING IN ON THEIR S/Os CHANGING
Diego:
Tumblr media
As suave as he can be, he is shy.
Soft, stuttering bby <3
He will try and keep up the cool exterior, but the first thing he does is throw his hand over his eyes.
“Nice ass.”
“Diego, with your hand covering your eyes, you can’t see it. Get out.”
You never let him live it down.
Klaus:
Tumblr media
“ooooOOOOOH! Loving the nude look on you!”
“KLAUS, GET OUT!”
He got out, don’t worry.
He is just so insensitive to a lot of things that people are sensitive to.
So… yeah.
He’ll keep reminding you, though so be prepared for that.
Five:
Tumblr media
“JESUS!”
“FIVE, I KEEP TELLING YOU THERE’S A DOOR FOR A FUCKING REASON!”
He’s convinced you did it on purpose.
Absolutely, completely, positively set on the notion that you stood there to prove a point.
“Five, for the last time: I have better things to do with my time than to stand there waiting for you to jump into my bedroom to say hello just so I could yell at you about using the door… But you will be using it from now on, right?”
“What? After all that: standing there on purpose? No. No, I don’t think I will.”
He didn’t.
You were actually considering doing it again.
Vanya:
Tumblr media
*stands there utterly speechless*
“VEE!”
Oh, well that woke her up, thank you.
“Oh, my god, I’m so sorry!”
Her hand flew up to her eyes and she closed the door sprinting away from it like she just witnessed a crime scene
Not to say she didn’t like what she saw
You two never spoke of it again.

The only thing that gave him away was the twitch of his fingers.
He could never help it. Ever since you could remember knowing Ben Hargreeves, he had always done it. When you were ten, and only meeting for the first time, he had been so desperate to talk to you. Klaus had paraded you into the house, not caring if Grace or Pogo heard him shout about how he had made a new friend at Griddy’s. Agnes was happy enough to let the two of you wander back to the Academy, as long as you were back home in an hour. The kids there, she had told you, have been regulars here for so long she sometimes feels as if they’re her own children. She always passes them an extra donut to share when they come sneaking in after an extra bad mission.
‘And that’s the front door, and that’s my worst brother,’ (which earned him a loud growl from Diego), ‘and that’s living room, and oooh- that’s the bar’, he had started, parading around the hallway table as if he were on a runway. You just laughed into your hand at the way he had thrown his tie around his shoulder and gone storming towards the counter as if he were an old regular. He stopped short, though, when he caught sight of one of his other brothers sitting in the warm light by the window, flipping though a copy of ‘Pride and Prejudice.’
‘Oooh, and this is Benny-Boy! He’s going to love you!’, Klaus starts, turning around and pushing his hands against your back until you’ve stumbled your way in front of a very startled looking Ben.
‘Klaus, I’m not in the mood, not after training-’... but he couldn’t finish. He had put down the book with a sigh, memorising which line he was on and already looking forward to burrowing back into it later. Blinking up into the air, the sparkling rays began to fade away to reveal you, and he couldn’t speak. No more words would come. He just sat there, with big, wide, wonderous eyes, and a growing smile.
His fingers began to shake along the edge of the cracked spine.
And then, suddenly, you were two giggly little twelve year olds cowering under the covers, simultaneously trying to hide the fact that you had snuck in through the back alley entrance of the Academy as well as the fact Ben was still awake just a few hours before training, his fingers would twitch on the covers and give the game away to Grace. Or when he had just turned fifteen, and you had come rushing through the front doors of his faux home after hearing on the local radio station how The Horror from the Umbrella Academy had nearly been struck down whilst fighting Gustave Eiffel at the Eiffel Tower. You hadn’t even stopped to realise you had run smack bang into what seemed to be a family meeting, or more along the lines of the children hovering around the dinner tables as Sir Reginald told them off for their sloppiness, not even caring as the blood trickled off their shoes and stained the floorboards. Klaus had begun to shake from where he sat with his head ducked under his arms, Luther just gazing up at the portrait of Five, as if he had this speech internalised and was just off, somewhere else.
You ignored Allison’s noise of concern as you ran past the edge of the hallway and past a peering Vanya. You had just leapt onto a sniffling Ben, drawing him away from the comforting hand Diego had placed on his shoulder and wrapping yourself around his trembling body. It broke your heart to feel him try and jump back.
‘Oh Ben. Oh Benny, I’m so sorry’, you had whispered against his ear, trying to calm him down by stroking the nape of his neck. You could hear a sob catch in his throat as he froze in front of you, desperately trying hard not to allow himself to break.
His fingers reached up to stroke against your forearms. Tenderly... so tenderly, delicately, reverently skimming his skin over your arms, despite how afraid he looked. The way he hung his head low, mind still chained under the humiliation Reginald was hurling and spitting at him, but his hands rose against your own, desperate to break free.
He had wanted to hug you back, he really had. It wasn’t that he was scared of his father - no, he knew that he was getting a beating later, and probably another book or toy taken out of his room again. No, he was used to that, his eyes already glazing over as he tried to reach over your shoulder and begin the momentous task of wiping away the blood splatters that burned against his cheeks. He was worried what Reginald would do to you. What he would do to you. What he would do to anyone who he believed was making his children weak. What he would to do the only thing in this whole goddamned world he cared about. The only thing, as he wrapped his hand around your waist and tried his best to stop his chin from shaking against your neck, that he was thinking about when he had nearly died. The only thing that had ever mattered.
His fingers trembled. And out of the corner of his eye, it only took a split second for Ben to notice the way Reginald’s monocle scrunched as a scowl fell on his face. But he didn’t care. He hated this house. He hated it. And if he couldn’t save his siblings, and if he couldn’t save himself, he sure as hell was going to save you. He was going to get you far away from here.
He just wasn’t sure if he wasn’t monstrous enough to do it.
It was a mannerism he had carried on and into adulthood. Even though he was now the ripe old age of twenty five, and the two of you had managed to find a job and pool enough money to buy a cosy apartment together on the edge of town. Ben had slotted in easily as a librarian, feeling more at home among the bookshelves and catalogues than he ever had at the Academy. Not that it would ever leave him completely, though. In more ways than one. His sisters often dropped by to visit, many a night spent with the four of you sitting around the table eating pastries before all heading out to work together. Diego would swing by often, usually when he had managed to start an argument with Al and needed a place to crash for the night. Klaus you saw the most, often found draped across your settee or just sitting shivering on your kitchen counters like an old domestic cat. You had grown so used to his presence, you often made three cups of tea when you came home, and more often than not found all of them drunk and abandoned by the skin at the end of the night.
Luther, neither of you saw at all. Ben would never openly admit it, but you knew it pained him to know that his brother was still trapped there, and he was powerless to help.
Today, though, you came home and were surprised to find you had the place to yourselves. Heck, for a moment, you believed you only had it to yourself - it felt so empty and devoid of the usual laughter and warmth that Ben Hargreeves usually brings to any place he’s in.
It was the fingers. Always the fingers that gave him away. They twitched, alerting you to your fiancée's presence, alerting you to the fact that he was sitting on the sofa with his knees pressed up to his chest and a blanket wrapped tight around his shoulders. He was breathing heavily as you walked quickly over to him, eyes expressionless as he stared out at the dwindling red skyline of New York, seeing nothing and everything all at once. He jumped as you reached out and touched his shoulder, obviously surprised at the fact he had never heard you walk through the door.
It must have been a very bad memory indeed. Despite it all, he still tried his best to smile up at you.
‘Hi sweetheart’, he choked, turning his body to face you. He opened his arm, and you fell into his side easily, enjoying the way he nestled the side of his cheek against the top of your head. ‘Did you have a nice time out with Vanya?’
‘It was lovely to catch up again - did you know she just got the first chair position she’s been practicing so hard for?’
‘Really, that’s amazing!’, Ben starts, eyes glimmering with pride as he glanced down at you.
‘I thought so too - I told her we’d definitely go to see her performance next Friday night. It was nice, she seems much more confident now than she did the last time we saw her. She says she missed you today, though. Was it... was it the bank fight again?’
You reach up and grip the edge of Ben’s hoodie, his abdomen shivering against your cold, but welcome fingers as you run your fingers up his stomach. It’s been hard for him, trying to figure out who he is. Trying to convince him that he’s not the abomination his father had admonished him for being - that he had wormed into his brain, made him swallow like poison. It was so unfair. Ben Hargreeves had always been the kindest, quietest, softest person you had ever known, and it felt like the universe had laughed as it had uttered its malediction and twist him into something so contrary to his very soul.
‘Yeah- I-I... I just can’t stop seeing their faces Y/n. I try so hard, but they-. They’re always in the back of my mind. How terrified they looked when I- when I tore them apart, Y/n. And the blood’, he swallowed thickly, ‘it-it went everywhere. I can still feel it scorching into my skin.’
‘Oh my love, none of that was your fault.’ He began to cry then as you pulled away from his shoulder. He was shaking his head, shutting his eyes so he didn’t have to look into your eyes and see how much the love for him glowed out of their depths. He knew he didn’t deserve it.
‘Absolutely none of it.’ The determination, the seriousness of your tone was enough to get him to glance at you. Slowly, so as not to scare him anymore, you raised your hand further and allowed it to settle against the slight dip just above his belly button where his tentacles burst out from his skin. ‘These tentacles, they’re a part of you Ben. They’re not inherently evil, it was your father who was the evil one, putting you through that at such a young age.’
You stroked your fingers against the scarred skin, welcoming the way Ben collapsed back down on top of you again. He felt so many words busting, leaving him breathless against his lungs, and yet you could tell that for just one moment, he would just listen. Just listen to you, and try to take in what you were trying to say.
‘You’re a good person, Ben Hargreeves. The best.’ You could feel him sniffle against your side as he smiled, relaxing down into your warmth. ‘I love you, so so much, and I love what’s inside you too. I trust you, and appreciate you, and I adore every inch of you so so much. Please, just... just be kind to yourself. That’s all I ask for, Ben. Just allow yourself to heal.’
For a moment, Ben was silent. His eyes were still closed, his head lying by the side of yours, but you could still feel his warm tears trail their way down your smushed cheeks. When he had finally caught his breath again, he finally gave in and wrapped his arms tightly around your waist.
‘Thank you’, he whispered, finally feeling seen. ‘Thank you thank you thank you. I love you so much. Thank you.’

Ghost of You
Summary: Your siblings have been missing you for seventeen years, not knowing that you were there all along
Pairings: Hargreeves siblings x sister reader
Warnings: Character death, cursing, season 1 episode 10 spoilers, let me know if I missed any :)
*not my gif*
A/N: This is something that I wrote a while ago and tried to quickly edit this morning- it’s kinda just thrown together
Please don’t plagiarize my work, you may reblog if you like but I’m asking that you don’t steal my hard work
Tumblr media
You had been dead for seventeen years. Seventeen long years.
You had died a week before Five disappeared, apparently he had been trying to time travel so that he could go back in time to save you.
It took about three years before Klaus was finally able to summon you, then, just like Ben, you couldn’t leave Klaus if you wanted to.
For some reason, while Ben aged as a ghost, you stayed in a thirteen year olds body. Which Ben and Klaus would constantly tease you about, saying that it was very fitting because you were always a child at heart. Which you couldn’t argue with because it was true.
When your adopted father died, everybody went back to the academy.
You and Ben were beyond thrilled at seeing everyone again, and thinking that Klaus would at least tell the others that he could see you.
But he didn’t. You had begged him to tell the others, cried and screamed, but he never once said a word about it.
You eventually gave up on that once Ben calmed you down and you were only still slightly angry at Klaus. At least you still got to see everyone. Even if they didn’t know you were there.
You were all currently at the Superstar Bowling Alley And you and Ben were listening to your siblings argue about how to stop Vanya. You both rolled your eyes when Luther started talking about doing whatever it takes to stop her.
“No, let him finish.” Diego defended Klaus when he was trying to speak, “He saved my life today.”
“I swear to god, Klaus, if you take the credit for this again I’m going to whoop your ass. Ghost or not a ghost.” You warned your brother, glaring at him slightly.
“Is that true?” Luther asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Yeah, buddy, is that true?” You asked innocently, Ben elbowed you.
He sighed, “Yeah, yeah. I did…. take credit for it. In fact the real hero was Ben.”
You smiled at Klaus in approval as all of your other siblings began to groan.
“Listen,” Klaus tried to reason, “Today, he punched me in the face. And earlier at the house, he’s the one who saved Diego’s life, not me.” Klaus finished.
“Thank you!” You said to Klaus, who gave you a small smile in return.
“You're unbelievable Klaus!” Luther stated through gritted teeth.
“You want proof? All right, I’ll give you proof.” Klaus said as he picked up a bowling ball. And Ben got into position to catch it.
“Klaus, he’s not going to be able to catch a whole ass bowling ball you dumb fuck!” You called from your place standing behind Ben.
They both ignored you as Klaus got ready to throw the ball, “It’s showtime baby, catch!” He said as he released it into the air with all his strength.
It sailed into the air and right through Ben, no shock there, but what did surprise you was when it landed in your arms.
You fell backwards on the ground with a little ‘oof’, sliding backwards until your back hit the desk behind you.
You quickly broke into a grin and rolled the bowling ball off your lap before standing up and jumping up and down, “I did it, Klaus! I did it!”
You had not been able to punch Klaus in the face earlier, much to your dismay, like Ben had and you were a little upset about that. But now you were able to touch something. Actually touch something. For the first time in seventeen years.
He smiled softly, “You did it, n/n.”
“Y-y/n?” Diego called out, staring at you with wide, unbelieving eyes.
You whipped around in shock, to find all of your siblings staring right at you. Not through you this time. At you.
“You can see me?” You whispered out, tears filling your eyes.
Diego nodded before hesitantly reaching out and touching your arm.
All you could do was stare in shock at the hand when it didn’t go through you.
You were too busy gaping at the hand that you weren’t prepared when Diego brought you into a bone crushing hug.
You quickly hugged him back, and then quickly went around and hugged each and every one of your siblings, including Klaus.
You wanted that moment to last forever. The moment that your whole family could finally see you. And were happy about it.
You would have nightmares sometimes that if your siblings ever could see you, they would be disgusted and tell Klaus to send you away. But they were actually happy.
You stepped back, feeling yourself slowly fading away and back to your ghost form, “I missed you guys so much.”
“We missed you too.” They chorused back, all with tears in their eyes.
“I love you.” Was the last thing you said before you had fully turned back into your form that only Klaus and Ben could see you.
“We love you too.” They all said, staring at the spot you had just been a moment before.

Preferences: Coming out to the Umbrella Academy
TUA x unspecified lgbtq+!reader
warnings:
a/n:
prompt: anonymous: “Could you do a preference with the Hargreeves (TUA) where the reader comes out to them. I'd prefer if it weren't said exactly what the reader identifies as. Thank you :)”
Tumblr media
Luther just kind of listened to what you had to say, let you explain what exactly your identity meant to you and how it worked and what that meant for him. “I have no idea what all that means, but good for you! Could you write it down?”
Tumblr media
Diego nodded along as you opened up, waiting for you to be finished with what you had to say. “Okay,” he told you and hesitantly gave you a hug, “that’s good. I’m, uh, proud of you or whatever.”
Tumblr media
Allison was the most reasonable when you came out to her, giving you a huge hug and telling you that she’s so proud of you for embracing your true self. “I’ll be here for you if you need anything at all, just let me know, okay?”
Tumblr media
Klaus was delighted. “Welcome to the club!” He took you under his arm and immediately planned for celebration. A night on the town, he insisted on clubs to “immerse you in your community.” He would find any reason to party.
Tumblr media
Five cut you off. “I don’t care.” But you told him anyways and he just nodded. “Hurry this up, I have more pressing matters.” When you finished telling him your news, he poured you a cup of coffee as some sort of “congratulations” and left.
Tumblr media
Ben responded like a normal person would. He was very good at listening and let you know he accepted you and would respect you and your identity going forward. “Be proud of yourself. This isn’t small news.”
Tumblr media
Vanya was kind and very calm about it, unlike the others. “Thank you for telling me, I’m glad you trust me enough to do so.” She told you of her own experiences and identity to relate to you, as well, and was reasonably excited to have this community in common with you.

The Mission
Tumblr media
Requested: Yes/No
Summary: You and Five are rival agents at the Commission, and are put on an assignment together.
A/N: I don’t know if there’s a break room at the Commission, but I put it in.
Warnings: Food? I mean there’s a bagel… Oh and one or two curse words.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“No way, not him.”
You stared at the Handler, not wanting to believe the words that came out of her mouth.
“Oh but yes, y/n. I know how you feel about Five Hargreeves, but you two work together so well. And this mission just can’t fail.”
You knew once the Handler said you were working with Five that there was no going back. You couldn’t change her mind to matter what you said.
“Fine. But I’ll have you know that I do not like this.”
As you stormed out the Handler’s office, you heard her call, “I’ll keep that in mind!”
Once you entered the break room, you noticed that the only person there was of course, the one and only Five Hargreeves.
He looked up from a tattered book he was reading, and seeing you, immediately went back to reading.
You started rummaging around the cupboards looking for something edible.
“I’ll have you know Mister Hargreeves, that the mission I’m sure you were assigned, has now became a double mission.”
“Oh? And who is my partner, Miss y/l/n?”
“Unfortunately, I have the pleasure of accompanying the second best assassin to the mission of assassinating JFK.”
“Ah. I see.”
You wondered why he went quiet all of a sudden. But then you found a bagel, slathered some cream cheese on it, and walked out the door.
“See you soon, dickhead!”, you yelled as you closed the break room door.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Five closed his book. Why were you so annoying? He wanted to punch you. But also at the same time he wanted to kiss you.
It wasn’t a secret that Five liked you. Well, at least it wasn’t a secret to everyone but you.
Five was certain you didn’t like him. And yet, he hoped. He hoped that one day, he’d be able to play with your hair, instead of just catching a whiff of it every once in a while.
But then again, you were the best assassin at the Commission, so there was no way. Right?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The day of the mission, you decided to at least try to converse with Five. There has to be a start right?
As you were grabbing the briefcase, you heard footsteps behind you.
“Well, I see you’re ready to go, y/n.”
You turned around to see The Handler.
“Yes, I am. Just getting a briefcase.”
“Then you best be on your way.”
“Certainly. Goodbye.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
sorry i had to end it! i just had no motivation. but i will for sure do part two if anyone wants lol.
