Summary: She had been avoiding him and he had been avoiding her. He couldn’t look her in the eyes. Not after what he saw. Not after what she did.

His world was crumbling around him. His mom was Pink Diamond. Pink Diamond was his mom. Rose Quartz was Pink Diamond, Pink Diamond was Rose Quartz.

He repeated the words in his head over and over and it was so real. Maybe if he thought hard enough, he would discover it was all fake. Maybe it was all some cruel prank or a joke.

(Only why would it be so cruel?)

Maybe it was some nightmare or maybe he was imagining things.

(No nightmare had even been this vivid.)

Whatever it was, it wasn’t real.

(He should’ve stopped denying it.)

(But he couldn’t.)

He looked up at the portrait that hung above the front door.

That smile, so genuine, yet so fake. Like she hadn’t hidden what was quite literally the secret of the century (and many more.)

He glared at it. He hated that the lie was true. He hated that he couldn’t sleep and wake up to the times when how many Cookie Cats he could stuff in his mouth were his only worries.

He saw a glow from behind him and felt the warmth of his gem signifying the door was opening. The door to his and his mom’s, Rose’s, Pink’s shared room.

He felt numb as he walked to the door. The entrance shut and he was left with an endless amount of pink and clouds.

And then there was that feeling blooming in his chest. The one he seldom felt to the extent where it felt foreign.

He didn’t need to look up to know the clouds formed another version of Rose’s painting. He summoned a shield and threw it at the fake painting. It poofed into a puff of smoke. It felt good.

The room conjured more and he ran straight farther into the room, more appearing as he hurled his shield into them. He halted and paintings made a circle around him. He made shields and hit her in different areas each time.

Her eyes.

(For not telling him the full story. For lighting up about everything with no remorse. The ones that pretended nothing happened.)

Her mouth.

(For the voice that lied to him, reassured him. The smile that had once lifted his spirits.)

Her arms.

(The hands attached that patted him, the arms themselves that hugged him.)

Her hair.

(For being pink and curly. For being the almost perfect picture of Pink Diamond’s, the original her.)

He kept throwing shields at paintings until the end of the day. He stumbled out of the room, tired, but he felt lighter than he had in almost a week. Like a giant weight had been lifted and dissipated into thin air.

He saw her again for the first time since the reveal two weeks later.

She had been avoiding him and he had been avoiding her. He couldn’t look her in the eyes. Not after what he saw. Not after what she did.

Not after he learned she was what she sought to destroy.

The tension hung in the air as the two stared at each other. Amethyst was the first to leave, then Pearl, and finally Garnet.

He was the one to break eye contact. He stared at the ground and said the first words to her since then.

What happened after was all a blur. He found himself hugging his mom on the couch and crying. She was crying too.

The soft, cool fabric of her dress felt nice on his cheeks. He closed his eyes. He felt safe sitting with her, like before anything had ever happened and before they slowly drifted apart. He liked it.

(She lied to him, lied to them. She was the reason all those gems were corrupted and broken, possibly damaged beyond repair, part of him hissed. He shouldn’t like it.)

(He ignored it.)

He looked outside the window and saw it was dark out. He felt exhausted anyway.

A peek at his mom’s face revealed she was asleep, but he didn’t miss the signs of crying on her face.

As he snuggled up closer to her, he mulled over what it meant to forgive and if he could ever do so.

He yawned and came to a conclusion.

He wasn’t sure he could ever fully forgive her.

Just a quick note, this is from my main!

So, uh, Poptart here with a kinda serious announcement. Not necessarily, but it’s not like my usual posts. Please read through the whole thing. This is very important

So, about a year ago, I joined. Right? Well, a few months ago I stumbled across a blog where people made confessions. What type?

Aromantic confessions.

I decided to check it out. It looked fun. I had no idea what it was at the time. As I read through, I found myself being able to relate to it. I searched up the meanings and was so surprised. It clicked. The name fit me.

I scrolled more and more and I just... was surprised. These people were just like me. I related to them.

One day I made a confession myself, but at anon. I felt like I really fit in, but intruding at the same time.

I found myself supported when I saw it. I was so worried how people would react. I haven’t made many, maybe 3 or 4 as of now.

After while, I actually used the term to myself. I remember thinking ‘Poptart the aro’ it felt much better than any other label.

I forgot to mention, the world was kinda against me at the time. Shortly before the start of this, my cousin had asked my sexuality. I was stunned since no one really cared about that stuff and I’d never been asked. I remember stammering out ‘S-straight!’ Still caught off guard by the question.

I remember how odd it felt, to call myself that. As if I wasn’t one myself. Like walking on spikes.

Not to long after this, I had a dream and I was questioning at the time due to that.

And of course, in my dream, my best friend, who is also female, kissed me.

I woke up and remember forcing myself to feel something. Anything. I didn’t.

I briefly used the term lesbian on myself, thinking that was it. It still felt wrong. Like an incomplete puzzle. Closer, but not quite.

Now here I am, coming out to you guys as an Aro. I hope you’ll accept me for this and while I’m at it, I have another thing to say. I’m also trying out they/them pronouns but I’m also sticking with my current she/her pronouns so I’m kinda testing out she/they and see how it goes. I forgot to say I’m starting all over from the start of Gem Glow. Also, I made this at 4AM and I’m very impressed with myself.

Announcement!

Okay, I know I haven’t updated the AU in a while. Let’s face it, it’s dead.

Before anyone asks, I haven’t exactly been focusing too much on the AU, even focusing and going onto other fandoms, (as you can see on my main @poptartcat) but I’m indeed still continuing this. I also unpinned the FAQ and will pin this.

Everything from this point forward will be tagged as New 2-Quartz-in-1 on the blog. I obviously won’t be too active, but I’ll try my hardest.

As for @2-quartz-in-1-archive I will be deleting the reblogs from there.

@onlygemau will be deleted completely. The main reason being I was never active there in the first place and never really going anywhere with the plot. I’ll delete it in the morning which’ll be in a few hours

Also, everything will now be written in ‘chapters’. Each post is a ‘chapter’ and will all be tagged with the episode name. It’ll be shorter than the real episode and only the changed parts will be written as I don’t want to write unnecessary parts that’ll take too long. This’ll be tagged as not only the episode but ‘Tumblr Exclusive’ because I’m sticking to Tumblr.

Other episodes just might be overall skipped or not written because of one of these two reasons:

1. I don’t like the episode very much

2. The whole thing is changed

Or 3. Similar to 2, it changed and became shorter or more easily solved.

The blog pfp (idk if that’s the name I forgot) will be changed into something else. Same with the banner.

This’ll be a a blog where you can ask questions (related to the episode or not) to both me and to all the currently introduced characters to move along the story. (if it’s for the character and spoilers, expect it to be ignored.) but if none are asked, I can still move along the story.

This will no longer include comics, just occasional art and the rest is writing or me. I also apologize for not being consistent and if anyone is actually reading this, I thank you.

Sorry, I had trouble so I didn’t actually draw Pearl’s spear. I used an airbrush for the first time thought on the tree background of Pearl and it probably won’t be the last time I use it. I feel like Steven’s ears look the the ones in TOH.

Rose: Pearl and I made a team called Steven Safety squad (Greg came up with the name) Steven is really sweet and the cutest.

Mod Poptart: Rose survived by luck so she does everything she can to hang out with Steven, although he sometimes has to tell Rose to back up. Rose just adores her son and would shatter anyone and everyone to protect him. The two have a really good bond as of now/season 1
