Well, lookie here! I think I meet all of these criteria. Arcane is actually one of Second Serpent's comp titles (as much as a show can be a comp title for a novel series).

I haven't posted here in a while cause I've been dragged into a DnD campaign that I've been hyper-fixating on, but I'm currently reading through your Data Archive and am enjoying your work, so thought I'd say hello. Hello!

I draw mostly as a creative supplement, but here's some of my nonsense.

An Immortal Laid to Rest

Also know as Project : Desert, this is my current book working on. It's a novella featuring the dual POVs of Vincent Helio, an ordained archivist trying to live up to expectations, and Orias, a shapeshifter who's been trapped in the desert for over a millennium.

It's a story centered around the concept of freedom, both physical and mental, and the love we show others. If you like character-driven stories, then I hope you'll stick around :^)

Okay I'm on episode 98 and I saw this and THERE ARE FEELINGS PERCOLATING. Someone get the bucket cause I'm about to cry.

Some spoilers and yelling about the significance of the Major Arcana in the Might Nein story below.

Mollymauk has always been associated with the Major Arcana, representing both the Fool and the World simultaneously. The Fool looks outward, seizing opportunity and grasping for knowledge. The World looks inward, celebrating not a physical change, but a psychological and spiritual one. There is no beginning or end to the Major Arcana-- only points on a circle, neverending. You always end where you began... just fresh perspective.

In Critical Role, our Fool dies early in the cycle, but the soul of the Fool is carried forward through the rest of the arcana, in the minds and hearts of the Mighty Nein.

The original Might Nein crew is composed of people who see themselves as "incomplete"-- wanting to find or cultivate a new beginning, or searching for something that they think they lack. But Mollymauk planted a seed in them right from the beginning: that regardless of where they come from or what they feel about themselves, they'd always been inherently worthy, just way they were.

Beau was always worthy of love. Caleb and Yasha were always worthy of forgiveness. Fjord and Jester were always strong and capable. Nott was always Veth, in mind if not in body. Caduceus didn't know Molly, but heck, even he comes to see certain truths about himself-- always evident, only hidden behind layers of immaturity and insecurity. All of them come to understand, eventually and in their own way, what Mollymauk understood already: Who you were yesterday doesn't matter. The future is far away. What matters are the choices you make today.

Might Nein: you're so close to the end of the cycle, my dudes. All your hardship and pain will soon lead you back to that fresh, doe-eyed place-- looking back out at the world with a new perspective, the same and different all at once.

Molly would be so proud of you.

the "came back wrong" trope except like... they didnt. like this mad scientists wife died, and so he studied necromancy, brought her back, and she came back and it all worked. like she came back exactly the same as she was before with literally no difference. but the scientist guy is like "oh no... what have i done.... shes Different now!!!! she came back Wrong!!!!" and shes just like. chilling. reading a book. cooking dinner. shes just so so normal but in the guys mind hes like "oh shes soooo weird" but shes just normal
