is art how you make a living or do you have a job outside of art? how hard do you think it is to make art into your profession?
I have a day job right now. I worked freelance before so i have insight on both worlds.
It's hard but it's doable if you have a steady income stream every month. The great thing about doing art full time is obviously the freedom to do what you want with your time but the downside is that you will have to do a lot of comissions that maybe don't align with what you want to do as an artist in the long run but you will feel pressured to accept them because you need to pay the bills. By having a day job you have the option to choose only projects that you want to do and that align with your vision. I'm lucky enough to have a day job where i mostly work from home so i can focus half of my day on my art business. I'm still striving to do art full time one day but i'm not in that place right now.

what pens do you use to do the white dots/stars?
i use Sakura white gel pens for dots or white acrylic for the stars. The pens are not that great tbh but it's the better option.

Aries - The Birth of Consciousness
Each month i will work on an illustration for the current sign we’re in. I was inspired to do a series like this after reading Alice Bailey’s ‘The Labours of Hercules’ where each sign represents a step in a person’s individuation process.
Prints are now available

Sekhmet, Mistress of Flame, Eye of Ra ❤️‍🔥
She is the goddess of both healing and disease. Worship of Sekhmet was intended for protection against disease and appeasing her anger and destructive nature. She is depicted with the sun disk to reflect her beneficial qualities and the Uraeus to suggest the destructive proprieties of the cobra. The venom of the cobra brings death but if used correctly it can also be a medicine. Therefore, she is a symbol of transformative anger. She offers fierce compassion and encourages us to face fear with courage.
Prints are coming soon. Let me know if you want one.

Last year i got the opportunity to be the lead illustrator for the novel 'Dusk Descension', the 2nd book of 'The Lineage of Evanescence Trilogy' by Saeed S Alsuwaidi. It's a historical dark fantasy novel so the concepts were definitely up my alley. The book is now available everywhere and i couldn't recommend it more if you're looking for original dark fantasy stories.
This is just one of the chapters, i will share more in the following weeks.

Capricorn - The gate into spiritual kingdom
Each month i will work on an illustration for the current sign we're in. I was inspired to do a series like this after reading Alice Bailey's 'The Labours of Hercules' where each sign represents a step in a person's individuation process. I wasn't so much into astrology before but i really like this perspective rather than focusing on personality traits, horoscopes and so on.
I want to write a more detailed post about each sign but this will come later on.

My second illustration for Dusk Art Collective's art show Cabinet of Curiosities. I imagined this witch head preserved in a jar sitting on a witch hunter's cabinet. The writing on the jar's label is a magical sigil that protects the onlooker from the witch's curse. However, it's difficult to escape her alluring gaze from behind the glass.
Original available on my website.

What is "Magick" to you? what books have you read about occultism? The two being related.
This is the most concise definition i heard and agree with the most: Magick is a tool to understand and influence reality and the processes in our consciousness. When i first started with occultism i was reading anything i could find without a particular direction which i don't recommend. Now i read more books about practices related to whatever system i'm working with at the current time or at least focus on a group of books from one system.
You can find my list of read occult book on Goodreads. I'm not sure if you can see my ratings but just fyi this is not my best of list of books.

Hi there,
It's been a while since i posted any new art. I've been busy working on some stuff i can't reveal yet: in spring i started researching and writing for a special personal project. It's something i never done before so it will take some time before it's ready to publish. Then i worked on a dream comission project which took me almost 3 months. It should come out by the end of this year. Now i'm working on an Esoteric Astrology illustration series.
Thank you for still being here and see you soon with lots of new art. 🌟
