I made my second Keyblade! The Keyblade in question being Starlight.

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out too, especially since the star at the tip just broke off when I was nearly done with it and I smoehow had to reattach it.

'Keeping the Light' AU

Sometimes I wonder what Ventus would have turned out like if Xehanort decided to keep him around. ...btw, that's not blood leaking from his eyes and ears, it's darkness... totally... yep.

Ventus may be the light half but I can hardly see Xehanort facilitating a positive personality. If anything, I think Vanitas would be the loud (and obnoxious) one and Ventus would seem empty and calculating, never really seeming to grow from the state of getting his heart torn apart.  (I’m thinking, his heart may be healed, but it is being smothered by darkness / Xehanort's will.)

And I love the idea that, as he crosses paths with Terra and Aqua, he begins to grow more positive traits. Of course, this is only after he ends up fighting them like a stone-cold human weapon. He might be a being of light but he would be absolutely ruthless.

I like to think Sora’s heart/light would be sheltering him from a lot of the cruelty Xehanort inflicts on him and Vanitas. And when he gets to actually interact with those who show genuine kindness, it starts to bring out his humanity.

And you know, if Ventus can be saved from Xehanort's control, then Vanitas has a shot at healing/redemption as well. He's probably not nearly as receptive to Aqua and Terra who... well, he's just as awful to them as in canon.  Or not - there are literally too many ideas for this concept! Vanitas getting on decent terms with Aqua and Terra before Ventus, as well as growing to care for his 'brother' over time, is a pretty interesting subversion of expectation.

There is also the potential of them both not having full hearts, (which means Vani is running around without a face until Sora or someone else shows up to heal him.)

Regardless of the story, I like the vibe of this drawing. Let Ven go off and tear things up with his light power! >:D

(Don't know if I'll keep the name for this AU, but I wanted to title it something.)

RIGHT! I've been reading fan-fiction on and off for over 15 years. It is one of my most enjoyed hobbies. I read more of it then physically published literature!

I hate the shame and stigma towards it. Like to enjoy your favorite media ‘more’ is somehow frowned upon. Yes there are different levels of fic writers due to their being a range of skill. But that is the beauty of it! You don’t have to be great, you just have to have passion.

I have a hard time believing it myself but - there is no aging out of fan work. There is no time frame for being interested in the things you love!

You are allowed to have fun!

Read you crack, angst, fluff, hurt/comfort etc / The same trope by different authors a thousand different times.

Fucking allow yourself to enjoy life. Because you only get one and you should get to read and look at the stuff you enjoy without feeling bad about it.

this makes me! so happy! fanfic isn’t something embarrassing! it’s this awesome world of new endings, AUs, character dives, “what ifs?” and even more!

This is a fresh take on cosmic horror I can get behind. I want to know the details of slowly dawning madness. Because we as humans, especially those who have trauma, I think, have a tendency to block out horrific events when we need to get a job done. But the slow realization that we can't just 'go on as normal' afterwards, is such a raw and relatable experience.

People honestly didn’t go “mad” from seeing cosmic horror things in Lovecraft very often. That’s a modern thing, and honestly feels like modified “gorgon”

Usually its stress, paranoia or ptsd from near death experience.

The true terror was not really in seeing something horrifying and alien, but understanding the implications, or not being able to fit it into an existing mental framework.

Does anyone out there know a way I can pick specific fonts that can be randomized while writing?

Or if I could just copy paste and a sentence through a generator? I've searched google, but I'm having a hard time finding something that lets me choose the fonts. (Google fonts. Currently using Google Docs.)

I'm trying to write a character speaking, but he's using an otherworldly voice to do so, so I wanted the font to reflect that.

Here's an example:

It would be really helpful if I could get the basics of what I need down, instead of going over each letter individually.

Did a few writing adjustment in my head while reading this, to get a better flow in english and... look I know it's not what is written, but it punched me in the feels so hard my eyes welled up.

Characters reconciling with their youngerselfs will get me every time.

This is not a perfect one to one with the original (obviously), and is how I personally interpreted it.

It's very sweet and very sad to see a character love someone so much, and still choose to be by their side, while being willing to let them go when/if their feeling aren't returned.

Riku being able to acknowledge the child inside himself that is hurting, and accepting his choice, feels very meaningful/powerful to me.

So good job comic artist - you've broken my heart in the best possible way.

Look, I started my run of Dream Drop Distance last night and saw this in the opening. I mentally screamed! I LOVED that they set it up this way.

It was incredibly cool, and now I wish I could play a version of KH2 where Sora and Riku kick Xemnas's ass with Oathkeeper and Oblivion!

Also, that animation -👌! As an artist myself I was drinking that opening in with my eye! So glad I didn't break in the past and watch it on YouTube.

Pay close enough attention (and by that, I mean pause and run through the frames one by one because it’s very brief and easy to miss) and you’ll see Roxas attacking Xemnas with Oblivion and Oathkeeper before it transitions to Sora and Riku finishing the blow with the very same Oblivion and Oathkeeper. Important to note Roxas gained his second Keyblade upon absorbing Xion so she’s relevant in this too. The duos have been compared YET again.
