I'm so Done Right Now (Trigger Warning)

If you looked at my last couple posts, well, first off I hope you went into your settings and turned this FILTHY THEFT OFF.

Second, maybe this isn't the way it actually works, but I am SICK AND TIRED of big businesses barging into social media, OUR turf and our place of freedom of expression, and started infringing and ruining everything because money.

I'm SICK of this outdated-capitalism-only lifestyle. It treats money as more important than people and, as we've seen, tosses out and spits on morals and empathy. Even the concepts that are just fucking COMMON SENSE are being shredded because someone high up in a rigged system has more money than the average person.

There could be someone who has (and probably still will) abused children, specifically child actors, for over a decade, has ruined those lives, have destroyed people's hard-earned careers because of tantrum throwing and severe sexism, and forced their fetish onto everyone else (including those children!) and didn't care if it made them uncomfortable or not.

A person like this should be in jail, BUT THEY CERTAINLY AREN'T BECAUSE A BUSINESS THAT SHOULD BE APPALLED BY THIS BEHAVIOR DOESN'T EVEN GIVE A FUCK BECAUSE THIS PERSON MADE THEM MORE MONEY.

I just... HOW HAVE HUMANS LIVED SO LONG? HOW HAVE WE LIVED FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS AND ONLY LEARNED ABOUT TREATING EVERYONE WITH KINDNESS AND FAIRNESS BARELY MORE THAN 70 YEARS AGO!?

I've been wanting to be an online writer, voice actor, and more for OVER TEN YEARS. The reason I couldn't even get anything of worth online is because I had to spend over half of that time just trying to survive life (especially school) and just figuring out how to keep going while dealing with chronic anxiety that's become so normalized for me that I can't always detect it.

The rest of those years was trying to survive a new lifestyle a family member FORCED onto us because of a selfish decision. And for two and a half years I've been stuck in this new life where EVERYTHING I HAVE IN ME goes into trying to find a balance between taking care of myself and taking care of others.

And now, when I'm finally starting to feel ready? THIS SHIT HAPPENS!

it literally makes me so sad.... like i love drawing and sharing my art but I feel like now there aren't any sites that you can even do that anymore because they all keep making deals like this with AI companies. And who knows how much good "opting out" is even gonna do. Sorry to come rant in your ask box this news just really upset me is all...

I already made all my fics on AO3 only accessible to logged in users like over a year ago after there were rumors that they were web scraping AO3 to train AIs. Now I'm having to go through each side blog I have individually and enable the "don't fucking steal my shit" button.

And everyone rn is going coo-coo bananas over AI, talking about how it's going to revolutionize everything and make it better but not to sound like a boomer but things have gone too fucking far! Sometimes progress for the sake of progress is bad actually. No one wants to talk about what we're losing for the sake of progress. We're literally losing art, the one thing that has been so innately human from the very beginning of our species. We're losing art to machines that can only take what we as humans have created, chew it up, and then regurgitate it back to us.

Yes, I recognize the merits of AI, but in my humble opinion, the losses far outweigh the benefits.

Not to mention the only way these AIs are being trained in the first place is by stealing the posts and artwork of real humans, the vast majority of which have not consented to their work being used in this way.

I'm so tired. I hate AI. I didn't a couple years ago. But with each passing day and each new thing that happens with it I grow more disillusioned by it and quite frankly fearful of it.

Please, PLEASE HELP (PET CAT IS IN TROUBLE)!

Since the beginning of spring my family's two American Curl cats, Max and Chloe, have been seriously sick. We lost Max just under a week ago, and Chloe could die in DAYS because she refuses to eat.

CATS WON'T EAT IF THEY CAN'T SMELL THEIR FOOD! It's the stupidest thing, but it's how it works. They don't default to other senses like sight.

Now, Max had already gone past his breed's life expectancy. Chloe could still have a few more years. But for over a week, she hasn't left this little cat tent unless with give her a figurative push (as in, I have to basically tip the tent sideways just to get her out). Her nose is blocked by mucus--it's even dripping out of her nostril today, and I thought we were past that because her nose looked okay a day or two ago. Guess not...

I've been trying to find info on how to feed cats that are completely missing their sense of smell and I've found NOTHING.

PLEASE! IF THERE'S ANYTHING ELSE WE CAN DO PLEASE TELL ME!

We can't lose Chloe yet, not when we just lost Max...

There's nothing I can think of to say that everybody else hasn't already said, except that my heart was warmed at that ending. The catchphrase being repeated by hundreds of fans, the new hosts, MatPat hanging up his coat, and all of it to a orchestral of the Game Theory theme... it was beautiful and hopeful.

I think it was the perfect way for Mat to get his message across--the gratitude towards the community, towards the people taking up the torch, and just for being able to be a part of Game Theory (let alone being its founder).

I'm glad MatPat's going out to live his life with his family. Also, like he said, this isn't goodbye forever.

But hey! That's just a theory...
