genuinely one of the worst things that’s happened to television in the last few years (exacerbated by streaming services) is death of Filler. going from 20 episodes to 8 because “we didn’t really need that episode where the main characters went to the beach right? it had no long lasting effect” but we DID!!! we needed to see how they act without the Big Bad Plot and to establish the dynamics between the characters and lay in the sun (do they forget sunscreen? how do they react to a thieving seagull? do they get buried in the sand or do they do the burying?). the plot isn’t everything. the action doesn’t hit as hard without the quiet moments. give us character development and our little scenes back

It's been 7 long years.
The final season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians has just begun to release.
The Ares and Apollo cabins are in a dispute over ownership for the flying chariot.
The counselors sit around a table in the Big House.
Percy has just learned that he's (probably) gonna die in the next month, when Clarisse and Michael begin to bicker. Percy has had it up to here.
He starts clapping rhythmically. There is a lull in the room as they stare at him.
He claps faster.

I think one of the things I like about the Percy Jackson show that we've seen so far, is that the stuff that was added still feels in line with the books. Like all the lines going "is there a greek god of disappointment?" "Like Jesus?" The whole bit with Mr. D pretending to be Percy's dad. These bits are not in the book, but they feel like they would be. And idk if that was all Rick or the writers just get it. But either way I enjoy it.

so, just finished watching buffy for the third time, and i am SUCH a dawn summers defender. like yeah she starts out a little whiny and annoying, but let’s not forget this girl is a child.
she’s fourteen years old and finds out her entire life has been a lie and just a construct created by magical beings. everything she has ever known is all untrue, and she is just a ‘key’. i honestly think her character seriously improves in seasons 6 and 7, and was needed to give buffy some necessary development in order for her to fully gain her adult responsibilities in growing up to fast, and having to look after someone else.
my only main criticism of dawn in season 7 is the infamous ‘kicking buffy out of her own house’ scene, but let’s be real, she’s not the only person acting out of character in that moment.
