Pokemon Legends Arceus is the game of all time. You’re technically working for the bad guys for most of it. God gives you a cell phone. They sent a guy that runs trains hundreds of years into the past and do not elaborate. You play a song for a Pokemon that makes them shove you in a basket. Melli is there.

With Pokemon Legends Z-A releasing in 2025, we’re probably looking at Gen 10 releasing, or being announced at least, for the 30th anniversary and releasing sometime in 2026 as part of the 30th anniversary celebration. I’m ok with Gen 10 and the 30th anniversary coinciding like this as they’re both major milestones, but I’m also iffy on how TPCI will handle Gen 10.

Like, on one hand, Game Freak likes to lean hard into Gen 1 nostalgia. But on the other hand, everything about the PLZA (can we call it “Plaza”?) trailer says they’re listening to the fanbase for once - i.e. the later release date, Pokemon Z actually happening, and Megas returning.

So what could happen with Gen 10? I have some guesses that maybe I’ll expand into two bingo cards eventually: one for hopes and one for realistic expectations. For now though…

Hopes:

New region set around Italy, India, or China

A new mega-esquse mechanic

A soft reboot similar to Black and White (no old Pokemon can be caught until post-game)

Full national dex available after beating the game

Return of the Battle Frontier

Realistic expectations:

Kanto/Johto part 3 (like how GSC was Kanto part 2)

A weird and uninspired battle mechanic (hello Dynamax)

Kanto pokemon thrown in your face every 10 minutes with some Johto mixed in

Pikachu gets a new form and a new hat

Still limited to 400 pokemon until DLC

Burned Tower is now a Battle Tower

I mean, it could honestly go either way.

Unironically I think we need just a more powerful DS again. Dual screens fuck. The amount of creativity and interactivity and cool UI that went into DS games is literally unmatched and like those things were tough as fuck too. Please hear my wish. I get that the switch is technically handheld and thus portable but also no it is not that thang is so delicate and lacks the sophistication of just being able to shut it at a moments notice to pause everything without having to hit a pause menu. Does anyone hear me. Hello. Pokémon ranger.

I love the guys in my life. They’re sweet and kind and they don’t get the appreciation they deserve!!

Some wonderful things about the guys in my life I adore

• they love lifting heavy things for me!! One of them likes to give me a little look and quirk his eyebrow and I’ll do a little jokingly defeated sigh and he’ll carry things up for me

• another one of them my dearest babes(he’s like my little brother) always holds whatever I ask him to immediately. And he does this little eye roll and starts giggling. I had him hold my satchel purse and he started strutting around like he was a model

• There’s the joking “masculine” urge joke and they only make it when they want to go climb something. They yell “man brain” and start climbing whatever is close

• I love them, I love them so much. They never let me walk home alone

It’s so weird and sobering coming back here. I spent so long on this website throughout my life. I made friends and created so much. And now I’m back here going through old conversations of people who’ve been deactivated for so long and I feel like I’m reading their graves. I was so young when I was here.
