The transition from Fall to Holiday - It feels like Southern California is ready to celebrate big time! Daily conversations about what time is appropriate to start playing Christmas music. Doesn’t it seem like there are more people out than pre-COVID? Maybe we are all trying to bust out of these past somber years. It has been such a tough time for the whole world! Well, here we are. A month in. I have strange feelings of peace and fear all rolled up in one. Some days I am not sure what to do. Do I work on flowers? Do I work on the cleaning the garage? Do I list things on EBay? Do I make a TikTok video? Do I show people how I wash my face? Do I start a COVID-19 workout routine? Do I call it quits and fade into nowhere? Do I start a new career? And then there are things I absolutely know. I do know I absolutely needed things to slow down. I absolutely do know my son needed me home much more. I do know Liams teachers frustrations and I do not want to be a 2nd grade teacher. I do know I am absolutely grateful for being able to be with my son. I do know I am grateful to be able to create in a more thoughtful slower pace. I do know I miss hanging out with my Mom. I do know that life was going way to fast and this speed feels like a friend. I do know I do not want to go back to that hamster wheel. I do know this pandemic has arrived like a present wrapped in deadly F’d up wrapping paper.
