I did watch the show, which is why I know the scene and hate it. I was exaggerating about the writing giving me a headache. The writing's fine, in fact it made me almost cry on multiple occasions. I just hate that Merlin put himself in danger by saying magic has no place in Camelot only for that to not matter. I think that's lovely self-fulfilling but that doesn't change how much it hurts. Also trust me, I know I can't write a show, doesn't mean I can't have an opinion.
