Work in progress from Under the Shadows of Clouds
Going to be making portraits this summer. Also putting together a small zine of some of the Catskill work and figuring out how I want to publish 20 Landscapes.
Also have some publications up in the Free Lunch Cartel webstore - check it out here!

Trying to make photos that aren’t for Under the Shadows of Clouds because sometimes it’s good to be consumed by one project and sometimes you need a break. Working on some zines in the meantime and one small book.

Some architectural/spatial details and marks. Should have a few small edition zines available sometime in the next few months. Work in progress from Under the Shadows of Clouds

Still making a lot of photos for Under the Shadows of Clouds. A lot of them are just process so I can make the photos I need to, but I’m also honing in on photos I need to be looking for.

Charleston, South Carolina. The week after Christmas, I spent 4-5 days in Charleston and then 2 days driving back to New York. Made a fair amount of photos along the way and hopefully I’ll be doing another short road trip further south at the end of May.
Also got to see the Walid Raad exhibition at MoMA, highly recommend seeing that before it closes, and make sure to see one of his performances there.

Been making a lot of photos of cats around town lately, some of them interesting, some of them not so much. Really looking forward to putting my book dummy together (if you’re around Woodstock for the next Photographer’s Salon at CPW, you can get a peek at the beginnings of it!) but I’ll be out of town for the next week. Decided to hit up Virginia, the Carolinas, and maybe end up in Georgia before I have to head back up to Catskill for work next Monday. Hopefully it’ll be an interesting trip.

Started on a book dummy for Under the Shadows of Clouds. Still making photos, but the process of working on the book will help inform future photos I make. As of now, it’s going to be a double sided accordion book, though that is open to experimentation and seeing how the work wants to be displayed. Also, I’ll be traveling somewhere in the southern U.S. for about a week after Christmas. I’ll post some more info if I figure out where I might end up.

Put my first editorial commission up on my website. I photographed the Newburgh police back in September for Society Magazine, a French weekly publication. Just put the edit together tonight, hadn’t actually looked at the photos as a body of work until now. Pretty happy with the results and how the photos work together. Still looking forward to seeing the print edition. I realized I really enjoy photographing on assignment while I was doing this. It’s a challenge but it’s the kind that pushes me to make a photograph that I find interesting within parameters I’m not setting. The pressure of having to produce is also nice, especially since I don’t get stressed particularly easily. Hopefully I can start pulling in some more editorial work very soon.

Made this photo last night on the drive back from work. I’ve got a nice stack of laser prints from Under the Shadows of Clouds, but I still need to make more portraits. Should’ve made more this summer.
