For some reason the idea of making a portrait of a warrior with a tattoo of Pearl Jam's Not For You song on a shoulder has been repeating itself in my head for months now. I tried a few different attempts with some other portraits, but none of them turned out. I'm really happy with this one though!
I remember being really excited buying their Vitalogy cd when I was a kid. They were my favorite band. My first cd I ever bought was actually one of their previous albums Ten.
These art vs artist things are strangely really fun to make lol. To be fancy, I put an antique frame on it from one I had stored away here.
I've been putting a lot of thought into the idea of limited palettes, and different artist restraints--and how it seems to enhance creativity having less freedom, rather than more. I really like doing the more black and white style portraits with the red highlights. Thinking this is what I'll mostly focus on going forward.
