Book cover I did for self-published children's book "Brave Paper Son" by Lilith Owyoung. The story follows the journey of the author's father as a young boy, and how he came to America in the 1930's. It harkens back to a time in Chinese American history when the practice of paper sons and daughters was a necessity until the repeal of the Chinese Exclusion Act in 1943.
Plush design concept I did last year for Toy Vault, for a Chinese guardian lion.
Only ever seeing them in stone, I ultimately settled on a red/yellow/white palette for the male being the yang counterpart to the female.
Fabric patterns were for reference only. They belong to the following artists on Spoonflower: lianabyliana, zendytechstyle, bodabe, pamelandia, danadudesign.
A character sheet I did for a comic pitch way back in 2020.
How would a fashionista wear a jumpsuit made for a space janitor of an otherworldly species?
Costuming design by me.
Character (Francine) and Francine and Adele Take Up Space by Nicolaia Rips.
Happy new year!
I ended the lull of 2020, working for a private client. Although I can’t show anything from that project, what I can show is the surprise Christmas gift I drew for my boyfriend. The Monster Hunter franchise has a special place in our heart since it’s what brought us together (particularly Portable 3rd and fighting Alatreon). His wallet was falling apart so I got him a new one, customized with this design. If we’re excited for anything in 2021, MH Rise is probably one of them.
Attended Lightbox Expo for the first time and quickly tried out J.B. Monge's DTIYS. Made his knife kinda big and may or may not be because I've been catching up on Berserk.
