hell is a teenage girl.

just finished this underrated 💎 i’m shocked that i haven’t come across this before. the cinematography reminded me a lot of Palo Alto (2013). the visuals and aesthetics are one of my favourite ‘vibes’ right now as they give me a weird sense of summer nostalgia especially as the weather gets warmer (almost in a tumblr 2014-craze way).

I really like the coquette and pink style outfits and vibe. And I'm redoing my room.♡

So when I went to a family event, I was wearing a coquette inspired outfit and so happy wearing it. But my cousins gave me weird stares all night and kept looking strangely or disgusted at my outfit. I felt sm like crying. What do I do? :(

rude stares / opinions of others 💬

i’m so sorry you were getting looked at in a negative way. but this is my honesty opinion, even though it may be easier said than done… please don’t care about what other people think! look how happy it made you feel to wear that outfit! hold on to that! unfortunately there will always be people in this world who are jealous, mean and rude. we cannot let them control how we want to look, act or think. deep down they probably wish they had the style you have or the courage you have to wear whatever you want!

i know certain looks or mean words can hurt, and it’s okay to feel.. if you want, go to your room and cry! get it all out.. but then wipe those tears and remember how you felt when you put on those clothes! remember how happy you were when you chose that aesthetic! that’s really all that matters, love. wear what you want proudly! you are doing nothing wrong! imagine what they would think next time they see you and you are still wearing your cute coquette clothes! they will be like “wow, even though i looked at (insert your name) strange, (insert your name) didn’t care?” what i did didn’t affect (insert your name) ?” .. no matter what they may say or how they may act they will know deep down that you are confident and happy with your choices and they will know their nasty opinions don’t matter to you.

do you know how many people in this world get talked about or looked at because they look “different”? .. tons! you have to brush that stuff off and live life for YOU 💗 ~ this is your style, this makes you happy! you’re minding your business and bringing yourself joy in life, don’t let anyone take that away from you 🤍

i also get looks when i walk outside sometimes. i dress different from my family, the things i’m into are different from my family and i still show up at parties and such in the clothes i love, with so much confidence and guess what? even if they think i look “strange” they keep it to themselves because they know their words will not affect me in any way.

this is your life and yours only.

and again it may be difficult at first getting stared at, it’s uncomfortable, i know first hand but you can’t let opinions or actions of others control you.

so your question was “what should you do”?

let those looks roll right off your back and continue living happily with your aesthetic/style, continue doing your room exactly how you want, continue being YOU.

next time you are anywhere and someone looks at you strange just give them a smile and go on with your day, looking amazing!!
