More Encanto Headcanons!

(Sorry for the wait!)

Pepa’s Powers

Pepa loves to read but doesn’t often out of fear of ruining the papers in the books from she reactions to the plot. Abuela had gotten on her for causing water damage to tens of books so Pepa only indulges in reading every once and a while.

The weather she created on the days her children were born were all different. With Dolores, who was in the middle of the intensities, she made windstorms so powerful they destroyed roofs with no sun in sight, she was so nervous about being a Madre that all she could think about was whether or not she’d make a good one. Camilo was the most tame with lighter winds and sun shining through clouds, she was a seasoned mamá by then with six years of experience but she still felt nervous about having a new baby in the Casita as Julieta was ready to pop as well. Antonio was the worst, snow littered everywhere and the wind wiped ice up in tornadoes, the risk factor of having a child at 45 was high for both the mamá and the bebé and Pepa couldn’t get it out of her head the whole time.

Pepa never hated her gift but she didn’t like it the majority of the time. Especially when one of her spits of anger frightened baby Dolores with the thunder, her first child, her beautiful little girl, sobbing and screaming because of her. Félix has to take over before Pepa flooded the nursery. Pepa never felt like such a failure before and it repeated itself with Camilo. Her son sniffled and coughed from all the sudden weather changes and she kicked herself for causing her baby boy’s illness, even if the cure was an arepa away.

She loves making rainbows. Rainbows are perfect in every single way to her. First, it can occur without feeling sad for the sun to shine through the droplets because happy tears exist! She can made something beautiful out of what is typically portrayed as negative emotional weather. Second, it made all of her children giggle as babies. They loved the colors and would reach as far as their little arms could for it and Pepa’s heart squealed. Third, it was what made her and her Félix meet as he walked up to her to tell her that the rainbow made her eyes stand out and she made sure to make one in every picture after that.

Her personal favorite type of weather are partly cloudy days where the sun is warm and the wind is cool. These are her calm days where she’s able to handle things better and cope with downfalls that typically have her thundering and she treasures them.

The one good thing about having your emotions control the weather is that whomever you may be upset with will learn to never mess with you again very quickly. Pepa’s shocked plenty of Bruno’s bullies with, pretty much, non-life threatening bolts of lightening and soaked many of Julieta’s disrespectful patients with rain just barely warm enough to not be ice. She even blown away boys who made fun of her with harsh gusts of wind. Point being: Don’t mess with the person who controls if going outside is safe or not.

Encanto Headcanons!

(First Encanto Post!)

Bruno’s Powers

He doesn’t need to do the ritual he did with Mirabel to have visions, just to help them be clear for others. He himself can have visions that no one else can see but needs to do the ritual in order to show others the vision itself. The sand part of the ritual is very helpful in showing more clarity to both him and people he shows as well as making a glass tapestry with he tends to do for people rather than there needing to be one but, after years of people wanting a tapestry for their prophecies, he just got in the habit of doing it every time when visions are planned to happen.

He can have stress visions. With he is extremely overwhelmed and panicked, his gift tries to help by showing him what will happen in the future as a way to know things will be okay and he can calm down with that knowledge. Unfortunately, this backfires more than it helps and causes him to not want to go to parties or stores in fear of getting stressed and freaking people out. Stress visions can also happen in his sleep similarly to fever dreams and stress nightmares. These rarely get glass tapestries until he has time sand from his room with him but regular sand also does the trick, just not as clearly, think of it as the difference between a 4K picture and a blur filter.

His eyes glow when he’s nervous and/or flustered. Though not visions on its own, he might get a flash of the future with no content so it’s more of just a visual representation of his nervousness.

He has been forced to have visions before by some not-so-friendly people. Rather it be bullies as a kid to a walk being interrupted by rude and desperate people, his visions are sot after while still being feared. He never leaves the Casita without a family member after being reunited.

Bruno can erase people from the future. In a vision, if there is a person that Bruno finds threatening and dangerous, he could erase their very existence from the vision entirely; erasing them from the future. Said person will suddenly fade away into sand after Bruno leaves his vision. This is not something Bruno ever does and promises himself to never do... again. His family doesn’t know that he can do this and Bruno doesn’t want to admit how he knows he can and the guilt of the first and only time he did is still strong even after 40 years. The missing posters are still hanging from one of his childhood bullies to this day.
