Man I would really love interacting with fandoms if they actually liked the show. Listen, guys, I understand the need for critical thinking and all that jazz, but sometimes I come on here to talk about my silly little shows with other people that also LIKE the show, and I think it’s important for everyone to remember that even if you don’t like an episode or a decision made, that does not mean it was “awful” or “unfaithful to the character/story”
Just, I dunno guys, I don’t get “fans” that do nothing but criticize the show they claim to love. I obviously have my gripes on occasion, as anyone would, but in the end, I watch the show because I (usually) really enjoy it!
Anyway, tag the fandoms you’re in that do this.

Can you give me tips about characterization and story writing and how let you readers keep up with your upcoming chapters ?
Sure! I’d love to!
So, for me, my tips should probably be taken as a grain of salt because what works for me might not work for everyone, but I’m always happy to share!
1. Physical Characterization: with this one, the best tip I can give is to start off small. Figure out the basics of your character. You know, stuff like “they’re smart, creative, and impulsive” and figure out a few basics of what they look like, find specific details to focus on. Like the design of their freckles or if they have a crooked nose or a facial scar, or big ears. Try to find distinct and easy ways to recognize your characters through both physical and personality traits. For instance, my character Kya is petite, she has black hair that matches the dark shade of her eyes, she has a small beauty mark below her left eye and wears round glasses. However her most distinct and signature trait is that she wears hair bows, usually a blue one. Now she’s easily recognizable to the audience. Now you’re going to associate hair bows with Kya. Association works wonders, find traits for people to associate with your characters.
2. Personality Characterization: Personality wise, you’re gonna want to do the same thing, you’ll want to figure out some signature personality t traits that make it easy to associate with your character and really make them stand out! For instance, with Kya, some of her most common traits is that she’s witty, charismatic, and impulsive. If someone is causing chaos in the background, it’s usually a safe get to assume it’s her. Now she’s not only easy to find in a crowd based off of her looks, but her personality as well! Try to find things unique to your characters, something that really helps drive home who they are and make them easily recognizable to the audience, try to make sure they have iconic and memorable traits in not just their physical appearance (including how they dress) but also their personality! Hope this helped!
3. Story Writing: This is probably unhelpful but honestly? Just start writing. Listen, you can plot, outline, and think about your story all you want but you don’t actually know what’s going to happen until you start to write it. For me, personally, I usually make multiple outlines and change them the further into the story I get, my stories rarely follow along the original plans I had for them, they take off and become their own thing. Now, outlining and plotting can be really important, and I think it’s a good idea to take a minute and write down the main things you want to happen in your story and when they should happen, but don’t be too upset if you don’t stick to it, follow the natural flow of your story and let your characters help guide you over where to go. I mentioned this in one of my earlier posts, but one of the best things you can do is listen to your characters and let them help you figure out where the story needs to go!
4. Promoting: Alright, this is gonna be the one I struggle to help you with the most. I keep my readers updated by prompting new episodes (as I write serial fiction) through social media platforms, I usually give them a little snippet of what the next episode holds and then direct them to where they can find it. This seems to work, however you also have to have readers who wanna read your work, and unfortunately, I’m still figuring out how to get readers invested in my story! I’m hoping that they’ll see how much genuine love I have for my story, my world, and especially my characters and feel drawn to it, but it’s still a major work in progress. Another thing that helps is to make a newsletter! Though I’m also still working on that as well.
This is about all I‘ve got, I hope this helped, and thanks for the ask! I’m always happy to answer!

Being a writer is so hard because you have this whole world in your head, full of characters you love and want to share, but nobody cares and advertising for your own story makes you feel like you’re annoying everyone, whoops.

I’ve noticed that my last couple posts have been kind of negative in and of themselves, so time to bring attention to something positive
Legends of Tomorrow has a confirmed asexual character! Legends, you’re doing amazing sweetie and I love you
Not only this but the fandom is being so supportive of it, everyone is universally just happy and accepting for Spooner and that’s so important to me, and I love to see it, Legends fandom, I’m proud of you and you are also doing amazing, keep it up!!

Ngl guys, I’m kinda tired of how toxic fandoms have become, I come online to read some cool theories about my favorite shows and fandoms and all I get is bombarded by endless negativity.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t be critical, because that’s important too, but when all you do is complain nonstop about everything wrong, it kinda makes me wonder why you’re still in the fandom if you seemingly hate every aspect of it.
By all means, have your criticisms, but like, if you can’t also appreciate the good things, then why are you still watching/reading/consuming the content?
Idk, I’m just so tired of the endless negativity

So after getting a couple of messages; I feel the need to clarify some things.
1. I’m in a wlw relationship, and I desperately want more wlw representation in media, I’m 100% team “give Kate a gf, she deserves it”
2. But, this doesn’t change the fact that Yelena is not that girlfriend, and when a marginalized group of people only have one character to represent them, we need to respect that, we need to support them, and tell them that they matter, otherwise, we’re not being good allies to them.
3. Think about how defensive and angry everyone gets when you tell them “hey, this character is confirmed ace and heavily implied aro, please be considerate when shipping them”, people get so mad about this. Some of y’all are great, some of y’all go “oh I didn’t know! Im gonna respect it now!” And I love all of you that do that, you’re the good ones out there and y’all deserve a shout out!
4. But other people get offended and go “well I don’t care about this marginalized group, so I’m gonna ship this character anyways” and that’s damaging and that hurts the community, and I’ve seen it before, I’ve seen it with Jughead when Bughead started, I’ve seen it with almost every single aroace character that’s ever existed in media.
5. That’s not right guys, it’s just not, I don’t know what else to tell y’all. All I can say is that to every aroace person reading this, I see you, I support you, and I’m gonna fight for you and your representation, and I hope, in time, more people will as well.
Additional note, if you wanna argue with me about this, just don’t. I’m tired and I’m sick of having to defend a very marginalized group because so few people are willing to defend them. If you don’t like it, go and and block me, I guess, idk, I really don’t care.
I am, so so tired.
Yes this is about Yelena Belova, aka, our aroace queen.
Seeing so many people discredit and erase her identity because of shipping, upsets me. For a long portion of my life, I believed I was aro/ace, and while I don’t identify as that anymore (demi/ace is more fitting for me, as I now have a girlfriend), I still find myself extremely protective over fictional aroace characters because of how few and far in between they are, and how much I relied on the small crumbs of representation, and how unfair it is that it’s so often taken away.
Listen, I understand that people won’t stop shipping whatever they feel like shipping. All I ask, is that you think to yourself “how would I feel if some of the only representation I had, was taken away from me” “how would I feel if the tiny crumbs of representation I had, was continually erased by everyone around me”
And after asking yourself those questions, really think about what aroace Yelena means for that community, that’s all I ask.

Teacup, we are going to need an opinion piece about Yelena and Asexuality directed at Marvel Studios, otherwise we may very well end up with another Riverdale Jugheading situation on our hands. Would you think you could write one? Someone needs to.
Yelena Belova, Asexual Representation, and the MCU
Yelena Belova, portrayed by Florence Pugh in the MCU, is a character that captured audience adoration from the start. What many casual viewers might not know, though, is that in the comics, Yelena is asexual. While this is known to a number of dedicated LGBTQIA+ fans, it's not enough, it's not real representation yet. Asexuals and Aromantics are among the most forgotten groups of the LGBTQIA+ acronym. In movies and TV, they are often shown as some sort of super-genius who doesn't care about relationships, or sometimes a loveless, maniacal villain. Yelena is far different from that, she is a complex, witty, and fun character that wouldn't fall into that harmful trope.
That is, of course, if she is asexual in the MCU. It would be all too easy to put her in a relationship because "Relationships create tension in the story." or "They have so much chemistry together!" without actually considering what that means for our community. Yelena is one of the few asexual characters in Marvel comics, giving her even a short scene or line in a movie or show would honestly mean so much! Representation is important for all queer identities, especially underrepresented ones like asexuality, and with the MCU as mainstream as it is, Yelena may be the only asexual character that many general audiences know.
The cultural impact of the MCU is enormous, and small things can become so important not just to the fanbase, but to the entire community. Consider the impact of the reveal of Loki and Sylvie's bisexuality. The short moment in that scene had such a beautiful impact on the fandom, and that was for a bisexual character, an identity which has become much more common in recent movies and TV shows. It's difficult to even imagine the impact of such an under-represented identity get a few references, or a scene, or just a couple of lighthearted jokes. Young asexual and aromantic people could have a character that they relate to. Long time community members could use the character as an example to say "Hey, we're real, we're just normal people." The character becomes a symbol for the community. Marvel, this is your opportunity with Yelena, we can only hope you take it and make it into something great.
Please like, share, reblog, anything. Try to get as many people to see this as possible.

demisexual/demiromantic problems
1) can’t predict when attraction or affection will appear but
2) when it does appear, the demi in question is too afraid to actually do something about it
3) which means the object of said attraction or affection may never know

To asexuals who project their sexuality onto fictional characters- there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. You are just as valid as anyone else, and your headcanons are perfectly acceptable! Don’t let them tell you otherwise.
