Set for a highschool/college au I guess so basically Alebdo and his S/O is seen as a perfect couple in school but as a certain kinnie I am, it's more like the s/o is someone who has a nice and bubbly personality but in reality won't take any bs from anyone — albedo is all stressed and it's been building up recently and accidentally snaps at his s/o in front of a few people 😔 I'm someone who doesn't really have crushes often, even though I do get a lot of admirers. a/n: idk at this point man, also sorry for getting to you so late 🦊 anon! been feeling unmotivated as of late, maybe I'm getting writer's block oh no! anyways hope you enjoy this!

you and albedo were known as the "couple goals couple" on campus, with the way you acted around each other. it was as if you were made for each other, your sugary sweet relationship in public is enough to make any single person cry with envy.

you and albedo met in high school, so it's been a few years since you've known each other. after getting into the same university, you both have gotten much busier. Albedo especially with the workload he gets, so although you two are mostly seen together a lot in public, you never got the time to hang out too much.

which was why you decided to get some tickets to the amusement park that's been popular as of late, you knew albedo was stressed with the exams and projects coming his way. so by taking him to the park you both get to have a long-awaited date and get his mind off work.

"bedo! hey!" you shout to him as he exits the lecture room, he looks at you. his appearance is the most untidy you've seen him, hair barely in his signature braids, eye bags that were so dark it started to look unhealthy compared to his fair skin. basically, he looked like he was ready to die and pass out at the same time. "hey [name].." he said tiredly.

"oh bedo.. you don't look so good are you okay?", he smiles slightly and shakes his head "I'm ok love just tired is all", you looked at him in concern before you got excited again, "oh yeah! bedo I know you've been stressed lately so I got us some tickets to that popular amusement park I told you about last time!". you continued to chat excitedly about going to the park with him and how long it's been since your last date.

at this point, albedo has a painful headache and the loss of sleep is starting to get to him along with your nonstop chattering he feels like his head is about to split in half. unfortunately for him, it's been a stressful week and he feels like he's about to snap if you say another word about how excited you are for your date with him.

"[name] please can we-" his words were drowned out with your talk of what outfit you both should wear to match. and finally "[NAME], will you please just shut. up." he said glaring at you, "I don't care about this stupid date of yours and I don't have time for one either, can you please just leave me alone for once?!" even though he wasn't yelling it still felt like he was.

"Well excuse me for just trying to get you to relax for once!" you say "I just wanted us to spend some time together, it's been a long time and I know you've been stressed, so sorry for taking up your precious time when I just wanted help!" after that you turned and left. Your heart hurts from his words that made you feel like you were a burden.

albedo just sighed and decided to head back to his dorm to rest. after getting well rested he remembered his argument with you yesterday and he felt guilty for the way he treated you when you just wanted to help him relax. so he bought some snacks that you like and knocked on your dorm, it opened to show you.

you looked tired and your eyes were slightly red from crying, you glared at him "What do you want? aren't you supposed to be soo busy with your work right now?" you say. he flinched a bit but raised his hand with holds the bag of snacks. "I'm sorry for the way I talked to you yesterday I know you were just trying to help, I'm sorry for not spending time with you lately too", you soften your glare at him and took the bag.

you chuckled and kissed his cheek, "mm.. I know and I'm also sorry for being pushy about it, I just missed you." you say. He smiles and kisses you gently, "mm.. how about we just cuddle for today and watch a movie?" he says. you giggle and nod pulling him into your dorm, that night you both had a movie marathon until 3am oops...

You and the yakshas were close friends and you considered them family, xiao however was special to you.. he was someone who you thought was strong, and although he may seem cold to you. you knew he was also fond of you.

but then that era came, the archon war it was horrible cutting down people and gods alike every day, and fighting for your homeland was exhausting but it was worth it for your people to be safe. however, then you watch as your friends fall down one by one... it hurts. you could no longer hold back the rage and despair that boiled inside you because of that damned war.

so you went to morax your beloved god and requested to retire. surprisingly he let you, and you thanked him, still, you had a request for him.

"my liege, I know that it is selfish of me to ask this of you but.. could you keep my retirement a secret?" "..." "I know this is a hard request but please there is something I must do and I wish not for anyone to follow me.." "fine.. however, you must return on your own two feet in 1,000 years time." "Thank you my liege"

after that you left without a word in search of a way to end the war, a thousand years have passed since then and you have cut down anyone who stands in your way. the war has yet to end but your contract with morax is up, so here you were in guli plains. in front of you was someone who you never thought you would see again.

"Xiao..." you whisper, his name oh so familiar rolling off your tongue. he stares at you in shock, he had thought you were dead after your departure. "[name]..." he says unsure, your heart flutters at the familiar way your name sounds from him. "how are you here?" he asks, "I...".

You explain your plan to him and why after you finished he rushed away from you. shocked you chase after him, this continued for 3 hours until you finally caught his arm. "Xiao?! talk to me what's wrong?" you ask. "what's wrong? WHAT'S WRONG?" he yells, "YOUR WHAT'S WRONG [NAME] I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD FOR YEARS!" he shouts.

you watch as tears start to pool in his eyes, "I WAITED FOR YEARS AND NOT A SINGLE WORD FROM YOU!" "I W-waited for you to come back..." his voice cracks as tears flow from his eyes. "I waited for so long just for you to come back and tell me this?!" he hiccups "I can't believe you just did that to me..." you feel as if your heart is cracking in two.

you bring him close and hold his head to your chest, "N-NO! let me go!" he shouts weakly, body practically limp in your hold. "no xiao please let me hold you" you say holding him tighter, you can feel him just go limp, his head is buried in your chest as he wails and sobs still trying to weakly push you away. you feel your own eyes water with tears.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," you say running one of your hands through his hair. "I’m sorry I know I fucked up but please let me make it up to you" you whisper to him, his sobs have lessened to sniffles, by now you were both on the ground. "I never thought about how much that would have hurt you, I was selfish," you say, "so please..." "Let me make this right...".

you hold his face in your hands, thumbs brushing away stray tears, and you kiss his forehead. "xiao..." you stare into his eyes, they have never been so bright to you. xiao closes his eyes and nods "you better not leave again...", you smile gently at him and kiss his forehead once more "never again.. I'm here..." you promise to him. you shouldn't have left even without the war going on, you're going to stay by him for as long as he allows you.♡

a/n: holy shit this was long, probably one of the longest one-shots I have ever written, I never really wrote enemies to lovers so hopefully this is good!

Pitter. Patter. Pitter. Patter. The rain falls slowly onto the roofs and floor, clouds blocking the sun making the world turn dark, and on a night like this, it was perfect to do something that was dangerous. You knew this was wrong but you couldn’t stop now not when the end goal was so close. It’s kinda ironic if you think about it, your childhood friend is a detective, and yet here you are doing something that was illegal. You wondered what heizou would think of this, you’d bet he would have fun solving a case like yours if you weren’t so careful.

‘Heizou…’ you think back to your old friend, he’s clever and cunning you would get caught if you weren’t careful with your tracks and connections. He’s too smart and way stronger than he looks, and that was a problem for you. Perhaps you thought that you wouldn’t have gotten caught since you were careful, but you seemed to have underestimated heizou's capabilities too much. ‘Fuck!’ you thought running through the stormy night from the city's alleyways, a figure could be seen not too far from behind you. “Stop right there criminal!” a shout came from behind you but you couldn’t risk it not when you're almost out of the city.

Under the cover of night, you run into a dead end, it seemed like the end for you, not. You were quick to jump from wall to wall in the narrow alleyway and climbed onto the roof of a house, since it was raining it was perfect to get away unseen if you were careful not to fall from the roofs. You ran and jumped to the entrance of the city, freedom was so close right before your fingertips until you were slammed to the cold wet ground. You could feel a weight on your back and hands rushing to pin yours behind your back. “This is the end for you..” a familiar voice said, it’s heizou’s you could feel him get off you and tie your hands together with rope. Panic started rising from you not only from being caught but also from being caught by him, he turns you around to face him ripping off your mask. You can see his face morph from blank to confusion to realization and then anger.

If you weren’t sweating before you sure as hell are now, “[name]?” you flinch, after getting caught now your at the police station with heizou in front of you interrogating you. “If you tell me your plan and goal, this could go a lot quicker and smoother [name]” he said. You watch as he places down some files, “these are all the evidence that you didn’t cover” he explains, and your eyes widen. He chuckled “you probably thought you had it all covered and thought out didn’t you?”, he stared into your eyes clear hidden rage and betrayal in them. “But it was easy to track you once we had enough clues,” he says.

“I’m not telling you anything,” you say, heizou frowns. “Well you don’t really need to since we already know,” he says, your mouth hangs open, shock and panic rushing into your veins. “I just wanted to test you, you see, someone who was part of this little plan of yours ratted you out beforehand and all we needed was the mastermind who started it all, you,” he cooed practically mocking you. ‘That fucking bastard!’ you thought, “so tell me not as a detective but rather your old friend, why did you do this? The vision hunt degree is already over there is no use in trying to bring down the Raiden shogun anymore”.

You bite your lip “why should I tell you?” you spit out, he looks at you for a moment before laughing at you, “still stubborn I see” he said. “But if you want to know if you do tell me I can find a way to get you out of this or you can rot in a prison cell for the rest of your days,” he says with a smile as if he wasn’t going to possibly ruin your life. “You-” before you even start you stop yourself and closed your eyes ‘no I signed up for this when I started planning how to take down the Raiden shogun, and if I ever do fail to take the consequences, however..’ you frown ‘I still don’t want to rot in a prison cell..’

You look into heizous eyes and he smiles at you “looks like you made your decision than [name]?”. You stay silent for a few moments before nodding and telling him why you wanted to take down the Raiden shogun. Afterward, he kept you on lockdown while he figured out how to get you out of this mess you made. During the times he would visit you, you both made up and talked about the times when you two drifted apart and reminisced on old fond memories together. 3 months after that your case was finally closed and you swore to never do any more wrongdoings unless you were to rot in a prison cell for the rest of your days.

“So… this is it huh?” you look at heizou who was walking next to you, “yeah.. I still can’t believe you managed to pull that off with all the evidence they had on me,” you say. “Well it was certainly hard but at least it’s over now,” he tells a warm smile blooming on his face. You feel your cheeks grow hot and look away ‘these past few months together have reawakened your old crush on him’. “I guess this is where we part ways then,” you say slightly down by the fact you won’t be seeing him as often anymore. “What are you talking about?” he says and you stop walking, “well since the case is over you’ll be busy and I still need to sort out my life so I just thought..” you say. His eyes harden at your words and he frowns slightly “we just made up and now you want to leave again?”.

“No, but-” “no buts!” he cuts you off, gently grabbing your hand and holding it to his chest, he moves closer to you “do you feel that?” he whispers, you can, there was a slight thumping under your hand. “That's my heart, see what you do to me?” that's when you realize his flushed cheeks and heart-filled eyes. “I have always loved you [name], when we drifted apart it made me down and the first time we met again after that was when you were arrested by me” he starts, “I was hurt that you were doing such a thing but I wanted to give you a chance to make things right” “you did and I only realized how that my feelings for you haven’t changed” he brings your hands to his lips and kisses the top of your hand, “I love you [name], please be mine,” he says looking into your eyes.

“I- yes!” you say wrapping your arms around him, bringing both of you close into a hug. He rests his head on your shoulders, “thank you [name]♡”.
